Wait until he realizes how high the food poisoning chance is on those cans of chili. Super excited to see glock9 rush head first into this mod and make just a ton of mistakes/get surprised by the various changes, and to see how long he makes it before getting killed (hoping he doesn't die to early and maybe reconsiders the permadeath thing if he bites it somewhere mid-game since this mod is somewhat deeper than the base game).

@@dandeliongames7812 I came here to make a very similar comment. Glock is pretty slippery, though, and I have to admit I cursed a bit when he found a shotgun (albeit the shittier 2shooter) and a composite bow on his first day.

Oh boy... Alright, couple of tips. 1) Canned food has a high chance for food poisoning, you can cook it though to eliminate that. 2)Don't get rid of any dye. You will need them later on. 3)Generic schematics will allow you to craft higher tier items later on. 4)Headshots actually matter. They deal a ton more damage. 5)You can tell the time via the trader, a vending machine or a watch (which is craftable) 6)Don't totally chop down fruit trees, they will regrow the fruit in a few days. (also, cook the fruit ...)

And also something i learned waaaaay to late: Dont sell already known books, scrap them, you need the parts from them to unlock more classes :)
Taking vitamins removes the risk of food poisoning as well and the buff last for 12 min. So save those and the sham sandwiches in the beginning, they give you a ton of wellness. Run through the mechanic class as fast as possible!

For what it's worth, here is my opinion: First, I've been playing 7days since alpha 15 and have been watching your content for over a year now quasi religiously so I am quite familiar with the game. I dont have much time to play the game anymore unfortunately so I kinda play vicariously through you and JaWoodle during my lunch breaks. This said, I feel playing this darkness falls mod is a good change of pace because of all the new content which sort of breaths new life into the game for me. I also find this mod suits you because the vanilla game is rather easy and it's quite enjoyable to see you struggle ( struggle both because of the intense zombies but also the learning curve that comes with the new mod). So i personally vote for you to continue with this content on a regular basis! Regardless though, I will watch pretty much any content you make. I appreciate your work and commend you exemplary work ethic. Keep it up!

Idea for a cool 7 Days to Die series: Do a solo series, or multiplayer series with Capp00 in this mod. With the goal focused around protecting the trader at all cost.
The idea would be, making the trader outpost the base and fortifying it even more. Like adding extra outer walls and whatnot, making it a huge fort similar to those three connected cities at the beginning of Attack on Titan. The difficulty would be either the highest difficulty or the one under it. Also if the trader dies that could be a failure condition.
Or maybe you have a limited amount of chances, like if one trader dies you could pack up and move to another and fortify that one. But if all of them die, the series would be over, or if you die. The only areas where you would build are in and around the trader outposts.
I think this would be really cool because your defending an important location with npc's in it.

Hi Glock, just FYI, something I found out recently myself is that the land claim block doesn't help against zombies respawning, it's only to be put down when you want to pick up your placed work stations. It's actually the sleeping bag that stops zombies from respawning. I found some post about this as well from someone who did some thorough testing. Anyway, I'd love to see more darkness falls!

Mod is amazing and it will test your game knowledge and skill to max :D But hey, hop on aboard the Insanity Ship and sail with us into the Ocean of zombies :D Khaine (main mod dev) sure made it insanely harder the further you are into the game :3

A few tips, we played a lot of DFalls:(NO SPOILERS)
The Wasteland is scary and important. Must be properly prepared.
Burnt Biome is also pretty neat. Why? Who knows?
Wellness is a thing and and your max health/stamina can be reduced. I.e if you die. Eating good food can help, as well as a new healing item.
There's a lot of benches and it can get pretty confusing. If you think you should be able to craft something but can't, 9/10 it's the wrong bench/station.
Those blue schematics are used to craft mods. They can also be scraped to skill notes which can be used to craft another class paper (If I remember correctly)
There's so much more but I think it's way more entertaining for all of us, yourself included, if you just discover it on your own.

What do you think steel is made with? A steel helmet is really just a more stronger iron helmet
A couple of tips. First, if you wrench the air conditioning units you get electrical parts that actually sell for decent coin at the trader even if you aren't building electrical equipment early in the game. Also wrenching the tool red tool chests is quick and it gives you more metal. Second, plastic parts sell for decent coin so hacking up tires and trash on the ground gets more of that and it's quick to do.
Oh man this mod is amazing, so many things that should already be in the game! I'm going to have to try this out for sure

@@davehandscombe6283 Look up the Ravenhearst mod, for like the first 30 days you’re punching grass and eating crickets to sustain yourself, and will probably have a bike made by day 40 if you’re lucky.
Very very drawn out and hard, from what I’ve heard, hard to an extent where it genuinely isn’t fun.
I haven’t played it and I don’t think I will.
As a long ass DFalls mod player, i am glad you finally picked up this mod - it will be a challenge for you for sure - ESPECIALLY that you picked warrior.
Why you ask?
Cause difficulty scales like 2x higher than in vanilla - meaning your Gamestage will progress MUCH faster :)
So Glock, Good Luck buddy - i will gladly watch your whole playthrough. One tip - Running away is always an option, so never be affraid to just bail if situation becomes to dire to handle : )
@@michaelc1626 maybe if he wont be overconfident then he will survive to the first horde... But the bloodmoon is a COMPLETELY different story and if he levels up fast he is pretty much doomed xd unless he is willing to sacrifice few POI as a fast solution *wink wink*

Glock, previously read schematics, don't sell them, scrap them into skill notes. Those are used for crafting other class books so you can open up the other trees. It's much later game stuff, but still better to do that than the typical selling to the traders for dukes.
Really glad to see you start this series up, it's a really good mod, bringing back a lot of the earlier alpha mechanics as well as blending them with the new.

Also, are these mod versions at all compatible with new alphas? Or do they have to build it again ground up?
Couple of tips, headshots do far more damage than body shots, aim for the head. Those generic schematics are used to make mods. Loot bags no longer give the great loot from the base game, they give loot based on the type of zombie you killed. Soldiers have the best loot so if you kill one and it drops a bag, loot it. Hope that helps

These zombies hear everything! Even footsteps as you walk around inside your house attracts tons of them lol. I LOVE this mod because theres so much more to this game. You do need to keep the black, red, blue and yellow dye! Just read everything, nearly everything has a use now!

This mod can get pretty crazy. Do Trader quests to gear up. The trader has two vendors that sell and provide their own quests so check with both as needed. I found doing their quests to be a good way to gain exp, loot and lay of the land while it also seemed balanced for my level/progression. Last piece of advice, expect your first horde night to be a lot like your first night. Active and more than you would expect it to be.

the guy that stands out front or upstairs at the traders always has first aid bandages and sometime first aid kits for cheap cheap to help new players. Also he travels so sometimes you might encounter a wandering trader that has good items for cheap. but im happy you are trying it out, i have played it for a while and loved it

Just letting you know the wrench is basically useless for salvaging in this mod you get everything from the pickaxe/auger. The only reason you need the wrench is to put in your workbench. Also some dye is actually very important black is needed for ink, red, blue, and yellow for making black dye. With it you can craft new classes on the writing desk after you scrap enough recipes, which you should not sell and should scrap into class papers. The generic schematics are all used for making mods you need 5-10 for any mod and seeing as armor/weapons can have up to 7 mods instead of 4 in darkness falls they are very important.
I was actually about to mention the dyes and saw this comment. I tend to just hold on to any dyes i find after i saw you need ink to make the quest books. Thanks for the tip about the generic schematics. I have only played an hour or two of this mod so good to see some tips here and there.

Just my 2 cent vote for continuing this series along with Ghost Town. Both are highly informative and entertaining. Thanks for the hard work. And watch the bandits, they attack on sight from my understanding, which was your first interaction with a survivor at the Pass N Gas

Never sell the black dye, that's essential. Also, some books require you to read them in the hotbar. That means putting it in your hotbar, closing your inventory, and using it. You typically get at least 1 wandering horde a day. DF scales your gamestage up quite quickly so you'll be fine for day 7 but you'll need a good base for day 14.
-Traders are essential in this game so do all the treasure maps you can.
-Traders have guard captains that sell meds and also give quests
-All those tools (ie welding torch) go into various workbenches you can make. Metal workbench, tailoring station, mechanics etc.
-Also, you want to get an advanced forge asap it uses less resources and makes crafting cheaper.
-You also want to scrap all your used books to get generic schematics, generic schematics are the backbone of crafting.
-Keycards are for the underground labs and bunkers. You can find laser weapons and tools there
-Don't use ammo unless you're inside or already have your ammo crafting up
DF requires planning ahead a lot more than your usual playstyle so good luck!
Love this if we could get at least 2 videos a week id be happy. Also this mod is so much harder if you dont know the ins and outs so i say dont play permadeath.

She will attack me for my phone and boi I hate it. I also wanted to tell you that if you go into the Traders if you go to the fork, it shows all of her food and drinks. Also last thing you can get Frozen and radiated zombies on your first hord night so look out

Loved it! lots of action on day one, I usually stay at the traders the first couple of nights till I get a few weapons. Would love to see an episode everyday if you could. The blurry texture is a bug with the video settings, I had the same issue. I think I fixed it by resetting my settings and restarting the game. The great things about this mod is that the difficultly doesn't make zombies into bullet sponges it just make them hit harder. The schematics that you have already read you will want to scrap for notes, you will need these to unlock other classes later on. Also, most canned food gives you the sh!ts so don't eat, only rations are safe to eat, bacon and eggs for the win.
Tips: Read all books from your hotbar not the inventory or else it won’t work. Keep everything you haven’t seen before! Vending machines tell ⏰. Food system is fixed so NO EAT 🥫. It’ll make you sick! Cook your own food instead, as it should be. Lastly read all descriptions because there’s a lot to learn in this mod and learning new things can be a bit confusing sometimes. Like you can learn something new but not craft it because level isn’t high enough or need special workbench so pay close attention. Good luck. Can’t wait to see more!
Fruit trees - first level gives good amount of wood for and if left will grow again. Time - can be found from vending machines and there is a "watch" that can be looted or crafted. And yes, the various kill quests are usually with a specific weapon to count. Also the stuff behind the trader is lootable - open those safes. Generic schematics are used to craft mods once you've unlocked them. Very valuable.
Survivor vs Bandit - look the same. Also not all trader locations are traders -- enjoying your series.
The land claim block has a setting to allow multiples if you desire. Also the canned food needs to be checked - only the white labeled cans have no risk of food poisoning, the rest do, so it is usually better to cook your own food.
Also - you can crouch walk through 1-high openings.
Glad you are doing a DF series. Once you get used to DF, vanilla 7d2d just doesn't feel dangerous anymore. It is so much more intricate. Look into getting a watch, it helps with keeping time when you are indoors. Don't sell any books or schematics even if you've read them. They can scrap into components used to make new class books so you can eventually learn all classes.
Ah Hells yah! My fav 7dtd guy playing my favorite mod. I'd recommend staying at the trader overnight your first few days. If you get a wandering horde while your out at night, you are boned. Lots of radiated z's in the night hordes. I'd also recommend doing your first 7 day horde at the trader. The horde will tear through any defenses you build yourself. It's crazy. But then again you're Glock9 maybe you'll pull it off. :) As for classes I went laborer (gives an early mining helmet/light mod) and scavenger (gives a free bike at the end). The black dies, and schematic papers let you craft class books for the other classes later on, so eventually you can get as many classes as you want. Also things like the weilding torches and calipers are needed for the various workbenches to make some of the items you'll want to craft, like guns. Anyway, it's a great mod and I can't wait to see how you handle it!

Hi Glock, excited for this new serie!. Blue notes are for making mods schematic. You can scrap recipes you know for notes to make books. You can learn other classes by crafting them using notes+paper+other stuff. Some dyes (black especially are used for great recipes so look out for them in clothing before scrapping. Pink dye sells for a lot of coins. Loot bag quality depends on the zombie you kill.
I just wanna say, Glock9, you are what makes me want to play this game. I play on console so with there being no updates, the game gets boring so I watch your videos. Even though you are on of and have different stuff, it still makes the game sound fun and exciting.
Most important read the recipes as some have to be read from the hot bar like you eat them. The generic schematics allow you to craft mods. Scrap recipes that you know for skill notes that allow you to try the other classes. You also have the option to buy, find, or make a watch to tell you the time. Best way to get nitrate is destroy the zombie bodies too.
Finally! Been waiting for you to post DF content. Its a fun mod that completely changes the game. Fyi you may regret permadeath. This game is much harder. Every poi is filled with zombies. Not just sleepers, but also spawn points so you have to be careful. You will get demo zombies and everything 1st horde night. Wait til you face the demons. Also permadeath will be bad, because now wasteland areas have radiation that can kill you in seconds with out a rad suit.(also not clearly marked) Keep those blue sheets! You need a ton of them. Also you need those key cards for end game underground bunker. You need multiple to open color coded doors. Last tip: dont eat the canned food! 20% chance of food poisoning. Eat cooked food.
My one piece of advice would be watch your game stage. It ramps up fast. Look into the 'xps reducer mod' for your mining tools. If not mining even a bit will jack your game stage.
that'd be a bandit at the beginning of the vid - survivors don't attack you on sight or chase you down ;) Welcome to the Dark side Glock :) Head shots / hits kill the faster, you can (and will) get radiated zeds on day 1 in wandering hordes and at night. The zeds are only tougher due to the mod changing damage from overall to head hits dealing a lot more, body hits dealing significantly less.
Tips and triks for DF... u can craft a clock to read time...always start scavanger class to put points in lucky looter and charismatic nature...and class quiest are easy to do ...and give u a bike once u done it..find survive Eve and to the quest to find the military bunkers...absolutely use one trader for 7day horde ...the zombie destroys any base until u can use titanium..

Hey, great to see you play this. One thing about dyes, I've learn from other people is not get rid of black dye, because you'll need it to make ink, which is important for the different class notes. I don't know why, I just know that people are always searching for it. Good luck with this series. Should be a hoot!

Schematics and Skill books are now useful as they can be scrapped for useful components. Each component can used to make mods, class books, skill points, etc. So now there is a definitely a choice to scrap skill books/schematics you know, or sell to the trader. Just like silver is useful for car parts of and other things.

Being an Xbox player it’s always fun to see what’s new in a great game and watching you play this mod felt like a sequel to that great game. Lol also that wondering npc in the gas station was a funny oh shit moment!

Oh hell yes. This mod is really interesting. The early game when I was playing involved keep the local trader alive. Nothing worse than thinking their compound is a safe spot and seeing it get ripped to shreds at night and watching the guards get slaughtered.
Nice Episode Glock. As for the spear. You might not be able to throw it anymore, but it can cause bleed damage for the zombies. Attack one and then watch their health. Its a good backup weapon. As for skill point allocation, its all up to you. Nothing i can recommend.
God i wish you made longer videos, I could sit here and watch these all day. Im super excited for this despite loving ghost town, defo more videos of darkness falls needed! :)
Don't forget to use your skill points. Loving this so far. About as hectic as rambling man 14 days in on day one, love it.

This mod looks awesome! There's so many new items to use, skill tree decisions to make, and harder zombies to deal with. If you continue and make a series this will be a nice refresh on the 7DTD videos.

There are certain prefabricated poi's that are perfect for base building. Just makes it easier to not have to create a base from the get-go and experience a massive exp rush. Would make a 64 zombie horde a blast :).
Well there you go, Glock9 getting blessed by the gods of 7DTD, and spawning right by a POI with easy main loot.

The general schematic papers are super useful and you want to keep black dye for ink. Also the desert has heaps of food resources (don't wipe out the trees, just take the first level)

you get 2 skill points to use right away, I usually put them into weapon crafting and tool crafting, so I get level 11 tools and weapons when I make them for the quests. sometimes the class quests overlap so I try to keep all basic items before making anything
Hey Glock! loving the playthrough. one thing it took me to day 18, nearly level 90 to learn is scrap the patterns you won't use or already learned. that gives you the items you need to unlock the other classes.
I never played this game nor i have it, but im watching ur videos for more than half a year, dont even remember how i ended up here :D but i have to say, i really like this mod a lot, feels like less generic, or whatever word is should use not sure, its really refreshing and more scary. please keep it up with this series
