“It basically just looks like cornmeal in every direction so it’s a little devastating” you were warming up to cornmeal in trapped inside but now you’re right back to hating it😂
There is a group of desert frogs called...Desert Rain Frogs. They look like potatoes and ball sacks with nubby legs and a face on the front, though some have a bit of a turkey neck. They can't really hop or swim, but what they can do is dig and burrow real well, so they dig down into the sand until they find built up moisture and a good temperature and live down there, soaking up the water from the environment and vibing. They produce a mucus slime while down there that helps them retain moisture as well as gunk up the sand so the burrows keep their shape. When it eventually rains, the rain coming down alerts them to the fact that there will be puddles and bugs up on the surface, so they dig up out of their homes to eat like crazy and breed. Most types lay their eggs in the shallow puddles, and usually the eggs develop quite fast into froglets so that they don't dry out, but some also just lay fully developed babies inside soft eggs that can just eat their way free and go about life. As the puddles dry up, they dig back down into the sand and repeat the process. There are also some desert/sandy toads that exist that have an easier time since toads are better at handling drier climates. They burrow a lot, too, but not as much.
If you want to see a few fun videos about them, search for "Amazing Rain Frogs | Life In Cold Blood | BBC" , "Tiny Frog Faces Night Full Of Terrors | Eden: Untamed Planet | BBC Earth" , and "What are Rain Frogs? by The Budget Museum". I'm not sure if I can post links without getting hit with a spam flag, so this is all I can offer.
"We could grow gills like that Kevin Costner movie, with water... All around the world." I was waiting for him to name-drop a movie like "Dances with wolves" lmao
I has to be remembered that I'd watch and enjoy a video of Glock reading a shopping list but that having been said I really enjoyed that and hope it becomes a series
Ah, shit, I was trying to remember but you beat me to it. My favorite part is when he hits rock bottom and, dejected, sitting on his jetski, he yells to the heavens: "I'm so sick of wet socks!" What a movie.
@@stormboy1517 Well, when you get to the coast, the shade doesn't save you much. The heat in the air chokes you too. Atleast around Townsville, Cairns is much nicer on the coast... Most of the summer.
Oh my god, I haven't seen Starsand in ages! I remember when the demo was around and some people were checking it out. Looking forward to explore this game with you Glock!
19:40 a good way to remember where you came from in an instance like this, when you run from the oasis to the pyramid there, and then you can't see back to the oasis from the pyramid you arrive at, is to simply drop a recognizable item or three on the ground when you're like 3 or 4 yards from the pyramid. That way when its time to go back you'l know which direction to run, assuming the item(s) doesn't/don't despawn... If there are already items around the area, sticks and stones and whatnot, then you can just drop a small pile of items, like a palm frond, a stick, and a scorpion tail, and that way you wont confuse "your" rock for the thirty other rocks around the area. It's a good idea to test the game's despawn habits before dropping several items, though.
Keep on going, love that you brought this in - the game is nice and immersive. A lot of content, camel riding, interesting times as you go through the lore during the game! In the ruins - check everything, even the urns, pots on the floor - /hint :) Not too action-packed in the beginning, but it will challenge you later :) If not, start on hard, and the desert will chew you up, he he
Coming from Phoenix, AZ... cracked me up every time the temp got to be slightly above 100 degrees F, Glock says "It's too hot! Get in the water!" Had me lmao, am used to 118-123 F for most of the summer.
One day, far far ago, there was no desert in that continent but big rainy forests with many different species of frogs, then the continent moved in the actual position and the desert start to kick in. The frogs lived in areas day by day smaller, until they found their self literally trapped in oasis. There's very interesting frogs in Africa btw, many of them are worth of!
On the surface, it seemed like just another typical early access survival game, but it actually looks pretty unique with the scrolls and artifacts. I'd be curious to see more honestly. Combat sure looks wonky though
@canniballistic555 I mean, of course the concept of crafting recipes is not unique, but the way this game goes about it is at least different to most of the "copy-paste" survival games on steam. They've at least put effort into making it suit the environment
I was kind of excited to try this since its on sale right now but its one of this abandonware games that only saw a handful of updates right after release then the studio went dark.
After watching the cut scene about the bug creatures killing humans because they need blood and flesh to survive, and then showing how they multiplied, anyone want to guess if there is a hoard aspect that will soon appear in the game, hence the need for serious base building and upgrades?
Always good to see you branch out on other survival games bro. I love this game and it's got a lot to it for a simple seeming game, so I highly recommend it to anyone to try who enjoy a good survival game :)
This kinda actually happened. There was a marathon runner Mauro Prosperi that got lost in the Saharah race during a sand storm and survived for nine days on urine and granola bars.
"In that one movie. Where there was water. All over the world. You know what I'm talking about." I wonder how many people actually do know, despite the answer literally being in the quote.
There's a guy who went like 30 miles off the path of a marathon race and ended up in the Sahara desert ran like 60 miles looking for the path again. Crazy story
This game seems to be inspired by the story of Mauro Prosperi. Craaaazy story that guy went through, and well worth the read if haven't heard it before.
This would be easy for me. The sand doesn't hurt my eyes, the sun doesn't burn my skin, I don't need to drink, I don't need clothes, I don't need to cook my food, and I can travel on the wind.
What might be cool would a full desert, no major city, horde every night 7D2D game - desolate survival, minimal resources, have to hold down a tiny house by an oasis in a ln otherwise wild desert land (maybe with a cool canyon or too). Can map generator make something like that?
Apparently dung beetles were considered lucky charms. Can't have real jewels, so these entered myth as blessed creatures & are loved by the superstitious.
Normal is definitely the way to play this. The inventory management, food, water, and navigation are all The Long Dark lvl tough lol. The story gets totally nuts as you start to explore and figure stuff out. Some of the puzzles get TOUGH too lol
Holy shit, that was an ending. Giant killer centipede? Creepy as fuck. We were all hoping you would prevail....We all knew you wouldn't, but it's the spirit that counts, right? I'd like to see more of this game. Never even knew of its existence, before this video.
Imagine getting attacked by a murderer and your last words are “combat’s a little wonky” 😂
😂😂
If I ever get murdered, this is now how I want to go out… 😂
"Skill issue"
“It basically just looks like cornmeal in every direction so it’s a little devastating” you were warming up to cornmeal in trapped inside but now you’re right back to hating it😂
That's it!!! Cornmeal as far as the eye can see!!!!
Cornmeal: I am not trapped in here with you, you are trapped in here with me!
I get pegged by goth girls
Glock9 lore
He couldn't help it. He was suffering from Cornholme Syndrome!
“Let’s just call it rope. Cordage….Get the fuck outta here!”
😂

Ferocious
Thank you so much for that
You mean...potato fairies?
The school teacher has spoken. I didn't know that

Yesterday: His characters dies;
Today: His character wakes up in the land of cornmeal.
Cannot help to notice the irony and timing.
Stems and sticks. Sounds like a new jersey 20 sack. Hahaha
How'd I miss that one, lol
you ain't wrong! those bags made their way to Philly haha
Gettin yo weed off the coca truck from Mexico uhh
"We could grow gills like that Kevin Costner movie, with water... All around the world." I was waiting for him to name-drop a movie like "Dances with wolves" lmao
My favorite Glock line in the whole thing... "We'll be fine" 🤣
Cornmeal the horse will never be forgotten.
“I don't like cornmeal. It's coarse and rough and irritating - and it gets everywhere.”
Really enjoyed the first episode of this.
You can craft underwater? New skill - underwater basket weaving - unlocked!
I has to be remembered that I'd watch and enjoy a video of Glock reading a shopping list but that having been said I really enjoyed that and hope it becomes a series
This seems like the perfect Survival Game for Neebs :)
Just need to add Paint.
This game kinda looks like "Stranded Deep" but the desert edition xDD
"Stranded"
very much alike. even the log and yucca and the game mechanics looks uncanny 😄
In Arizona, we sometimes call sand storms a "Haboob." Thought you might enjoy that, Glock lol
The Kevin Costner movie you were referring to is called "Moist Planet".
I was thinking Fern Gully…
Ah, shit, I was trying to remember but you beat me to it. My favorite part is when he hits rock bottom and, dejected, sitting on his jetski, he yells to the heavens: "I'm so sick of wet socks!" What a movie.
I through it was drenched earth
I'm digging this. I say go for it. Play around a bit to get an idea of how everything works, then drop a series on us.
"Combat's a little wonky!" He says... Heheh
Hell yes 🙌🏽 glad you are playing Starsand
"Ahh combat is a little wonky!!" End video lol
In the first ruin, there was a knocked over vase with a scroll in the artifact room. It teaches you the sandboard.
there are toads in the desert. The sonoran desert toad for one🐸
49°C summers back in Aus, this Isekai would be nostalgic for me.
must have been in the shade huh?
@@stormboy1517 Well, when you get to the coast, the shade doesn't save you much. The heat in the air chokes you too. Atleast around Townsville, Cairns is much nicer on the coast... Most of the summer.

I look forward to a series on this. Please continue. 😊

I highly enjoy this game and I'm happy to see you giving it a shot. I would absolutely love to see this as a series.
Cool haven't seen this game for a good minute. Glad you decided to play it
Would love a series on this
"Imagine you're running a marathon... "
That's hard enough to imagine!
OMG this was the BEST narration! "It doesn't seem to care" 😂😂😂
all that cornmeal glock threw away finally getting revenge LOL
Episode V The cornmeal strikes back!!!
Keep on going, love that you brought this in - the game is nice and immersive. A lot of content, camel riding, interesting times as you go through the lore during the game!
In the ruins - check everything, even the urns, pots on the floor - /hint :)
Not too action-packed in the beginning, but it will challenge you later :) If not, start on hard, and the desert will chew you up, he he
Glad you are playing this! It's basically Stranded Deep but in the desert. Good stuff. Stoked to watch you play this one.
Coming from Phoenix, AZ... cracked me up every time the temp got to be slightly above 100 degrees F, Glock says "It's too hot! Get in the water!" Had me lmao, am used to 118-123 F for most of the summer.

6:43 the charector looks straight out of sims but dirty as hell. I love the anesthetics of this game.
The prymid brought me back to Serious Sam for a moment lol.
On the surface, it seemed like just another typical early access survival game, but it actually looks pretty unique with the scrolls and artifacts. I'd be curious to see more honestly. Combat sure looks wonky though
The combat in the game blows. Like, I still like the game, but not for the combat
@Reaver000 that's understandable - shame it's already out of early access too. Hopefully they still work on that though
@canniballistic555 I mean, of course the concept of crafting recipes is not unique, but the way this game goes about it is at least different to most of the "copy-paste" survival games on steam.
They've at least put effort into making it suit the environment

I've seen a couple other UA-camrs play this in early access and it actually looks pretty good! I would watch a series of this 😃
ohhh fuck yeah, I've been waiting for you to play this!
This looks like a game that would be entertaining with Simon and Glock.
You should definitely make this a series its a chill games to watch. You definitely got my view every episode
"...it just looks like cornmeal in every direction..." I laughed so hard.
After watching the cut scene about the bug creatures killing humans because they need blood and flesh to survive, and then showing how they multiplied, anyone want to guess if there is a hoard aspect that will soon appear in the game, hence the need for serious base building and upgrades?
I love cornmeal map creation, next level toleration? Probably not hahaha
I like how you build the map up by placing different markers.
Mortar holds together bricks, mortar and pestle grinds things up, a mortar is also an artillery weapon
Based off a real man's story!! Very cool game!!
Didn't the guy tried to kill himself but he was so dehydrated cutting his wrist didn't work?
This game is hard. I've been playing for about a month now. Glad to see you playing Glock9. Good luck.
Reminds me so much like Green Hell. The crafting, items and foraging
Waterworld is one of my faves. I like the Postman too! Kevin Costner is one of my favorite actors!
Always good to see you branch out on other survival games bro. I love this game and it's got a lot to it for a simple seeming game, so I highly recommend it to anyone to try who enjoy a good survival game :)
Fun fact. The spike traps can kill the crawlers while they're underground, so can the swinging spike trap
Loved this game! Thanks for playing this
That pyramid looks like its straight from the 90s Stargate movie
Cut trunk into logs....logs to boards...boards to sticks....sticks to matches......why cant a tree just give wood!
I hope you will continue the trapped inside series, really liked it
Pretty sure said going to do it again but with a loot bag mod
Hahaha love the scorpion interactions 🤣🤣🤣
A big bird pooped 💩💩💩 that frog out in the passes,😂😂😂.
The game looks good! Would love it as a series!
This kinda actually happened. There was a marathon runner Mauro Prosperi that got lost in the Saharah race during a sand storm and survived for nine days on urine and granola bars.
Loved this one Glock hope you make a series out of it!
"In that one movie. Where there was water. All over the world. You know what I'm talking about."

G9 goes from playing trapped inside to playing a trapped outside simulator
This is cases on a true story.. I'm surprised the comments didn't say that already
Waterworld was such a good movie for its time!
Apparently the whole “running a marathon got lost in the desert” scenario really happened to a guy on a marathon in Morocco. He survived.
dude, i hope you make a real series outta this, looks fun
There is so much more to this game. keep playing you will love.
The frog was part of a bunch of eggs stuck on a migrating bird that stopped off for a drink lol
There's a guy who went like 30 miles off the path of a marathon race and ended up in the Sahara desert ran like 60 miles looking for the path again. Crazy story
Interesting game, thank you Glock9! ❤
Make the backpack asap. You're carry capacity sux at first. Also make the hat from the 'rope'. Lowers the heat dramatically.
Yes. World of water. With Kostner Kevin.
When Simon thinks he’s showing us a new game but it’s actually just where ya go after dying of an infection in a hospital.
Not the ending I was expecting!!
Game looks interesting. Amazing this is the first time I've heard of it.
This game seems to be inspired by the story of Mauro Prosperi. Craaaazy story that guy went through, and well worth the read if haven't heard it before.
I believe the Kevin Costner flic Glock was referring to is... "Dry land"
This game looks very interesting and I would definitely watch a series of it!! And btw, the plural form of oasis is oases "oh-way-sees" :)
This would be easy for me. The sand doesn't hurt my eyes, the sun doesn't burn my skin, I don't need to drink, I don't need clothes, I don't need to cook my food, and I can travel on the wind.
“Combats a little wonky….blahh” 😅😅

Interesting, looking forward to see how this game pans out 👍
This game is sick keep playing for sure
Yeah that Costner movie where he Delivered mail on Boats while Dancing with Horses in some Sleepy Field of Balls…
Cornmeal everywhere is pretty much how I would describe Indiana.
I think the squeeky frog meme is a type of desert frog or toad
This is based on a true story of a marathon runner getting lost in a sand storm. He survived 7 days before being rescued.
Died in trapped inside and ended up in cornmeal heaven just a shame there's no desert chicken 😂
Hopefully we get more of this looks interesting!
Looks like the enemy found you.....I think this game has some good potential...it's a nice change in scenery
Holy shit, that was an ending. Giant killer centipede? Creepy as fuck. We were all hoping you would prevail....We all knew you wouldn't, but it's the spirit that counts, right? I'd like to see more of this game. Never even knew of its existence, before this video.
The pyramid reminds me of the one from the Stargate Movie
Who knew?! Desert rain frogs are a thing! In Africa and other hot places!
