12:15 when you were hopping on the boxes talking about something being in the corner: if you keep going up those boxes and walk across the ceiling beam it goes into another room with loot.
rsparkles when I was in the bedroom I knew there was loot in the ceiling, I just forgot about it by the time I got to the room with all the boxes. I’ll definitely get it in the next episode, thanks for reminding me!

Remember randomized stats. You found two skull caps in the same container, and immediately scrapped one without comparing them.
There is a hidden stash at the top of the tower. You can pole up, or hop along the roof from the balcony on the other side.

Series Idea-Life in the Big City. Load in as many structures as you can.Malls , Skyscrappers, stores, etc. Make a few parks such as they have in a large city like New York or Chicago. You want as much of the landscape to be skyscrapers as possible. Maximum zombie spawn and random Horde night.

The Claim Block size can be changed in the multiplayer tab before loading the game. Also clicking the block shows the outline of the claim. I think you knew that though
I love this POI, one of my favorites in vanilla. I've built a number of horde bases in the cave area of this place. I learned the hard way that if you want to build a base anywhere down there it needs to be up on that far wall/ledge that's directly in front of you when you get to the bottom of the elevator shaft at 12:46 . Take out that garage door on ground level outside the shaft and they will fall down the shaft and you can build some sort of structure into the top side of that cave, just take out the bridge and use a shovel to remove the path that leads up to it. The first couple horde nights you could incorporate that elevator that's in the cave and just sit on the other side where the loot is,. They will just run into the elevator and try to beat their way towards you. It can work to end game with obvious reinforcements to it along the way.
Anywhere else down there just ends in a disaster of digging zombies, I have tried numerous builds and different locations and it just doesn't work. But it's a really cool and atmospheric place to do horde nights in that huge cave.

I have a love/hate relationship with this POI.
My buddy and I found it in A18, made it our home, started building it up like crazy until we realized that zombies were destroying the mountain around the house. So we pulled ourselves up by the bootstraps, and started to turn the whole mountain into a reinforced concrete version of Minis Tirith from LoTR. Spent nearly 1k hours each to build it, and then A19 dropped and the map no longer worked.
Never even got to have a horde night in the damn base.
Man, I genuinely wish I could love this game, unfortunately the Horde's hyper-AI that will tunnel through miles of solid rock because you made a door a little bit too strong never fails to ruin my desire to keep playing if I try to make a bunker instead of a super castle.
Glock, up in that Attic there is that bookshelf (@12:19) just before you go into the bunker, if you climb up on top of it, there is a small room that sometimes has loot boxes. there is also loot up in the very top of that shaft is another loot area, you can get to it by going outside and climbing the roof.

I totally agree with you, it's time to settle down and make a home. Hows this for an idea. You fix the house up, sort of a house flipper style but you have to find/ craft everything. Paint the walls, put carpets/ rugs down, fill the place with furniture and so on. Build a defensive wall all around the house to stop the zed's smashing the place up.
As for fighting the horde, fight them in the bunker, it's big enough to make a nice killing arena. To let the zed's in to the arena, just dig a big tunnel on the same level as the bunker straight out side with a garage door at the end.
I just started watching the video but it already sounds like you're so motivated. Less restrictions allow for more creativity and fun, like you said in Rambling Man. So keep going Glock, this stuff is really good!

Idea for you: maybe keep all your storage and crafting in the bunker and make the top three floors the horde base.

I like the idea of a chill series like this. My suggestion, and I'd only do this after you've looted what you wanted from the house and you go with the idea of not using it for survival, would be to do like a House Flipper on the house. Make it an attractive place to be at. Then set up defenses to prevent zombies from beating it down. After that, making the Batcave into the horde base is brilliant. the only thing that you need to do is punch a hole to the outside that the Zombies can come in from. You could also use it as a garage when you reach that point. The only thing to keep in mind is to make sure the zombies have the most attractive path to you and they should leave the house alone.
I’m glad the cornmeal part has carried over from Apocalypse
You should build a hanging platform in the bat cave, and clear a path from the surface down to it. Either some ramp or a straight pit drop and build your horde base hanging down from the ceiling. They will pool under you and will bang on the walls of the cave but the ceiling will be what is supporting it not the walls. Just a thought. I've seen a few cool designs for it.

Just an idea:
Imagine a block type staircase, bring the hoard night zombies from outside the house, to walking across a one block wide bridge, over the elevator shaft.
You can but railings around you to stop you from falling down.
Maybe the elevator shaft can be used as a pit of death, to reduce zombie health, with a ladder that they can climb back up again, and then possibly fall off again, until they eventually either fall to their deaths, or you / junkie, kill them with their weakened health.
So basically a corridor of death/cheese waythrough?

@@davidodonovan1699 well, a bulky corridor to mash up all the zombies as possible to throw pipe bombs/grenades it's a pretty good option, but you would need 2 things: electric wiring to slow them and mash up them before they reach the end of the corridor (if possible) and lots of concrete mix and steel if you can, because when I mean "bulky" I mean seriously, specially because only a single line of blocks separate you from the enemy

Great idea using a POI as a base. A lot of people underestimate some of these unique POIs. Military base, 5 story apartment, the mall, all good choices for a great base to set up for day 7.

I'm looking forward to this series already, I was also finding the restrictions on the last one a little much. Getting the balance wrong will throttle it and create irritating difficulties instead of fun ones. Next time you want to do a Horde Every Night, consider "Every OTHER Night". Extra time to prepare and we get to see you explore and loot more.
Put your garden on the roof or it'll just get trampled and blown up on Horde Night.

Glock, what you need to do is build a stairs blockade. What you do is make the stairs one tile wide and at the corner place a block one space off the ground. The zombies won't see their path in blocked and will only attack the block. You will be able to easily pick them off from the second story. To get to the second story with the block there, all you have to do is jump on the stair railing and jump to the top half of the stairs.

Yeah, I've come around to this as well and don't ever use them anymore. They are a distraction and arguably can make the early game too easy (esp. if set to daily).

On the subject of the carpet rolls giving cloth vs wood:
The small poi that is under construction (I think it’s a garage? It has two cable guys downstairs and the upstairs is somewhat frames/open) has a carpet roll upstairs that actually *does* give cloth when you hit it. And it’s a decent amount of it too!
The easiest way I've found to kill a boar early game is to do the pole trick, 2 high upgraded to 2nd wood, shoot with arrow then you can either stab with spear or shoot with a bow. The boar also breaks down the top block first so you can repair it or just keep an eye on it. I've found I can usually kill one without taking damage this way and usually don't have to repair the block unless I'm fighting 2 pigs.
I've never been in that house! Wow it has an entire library! And that bunker-slash-cave is amazing!

Suggestion for this series: House on the hill: quarentine edition. No melee weapons (never closer to walkers than atleast 2m). No trader. Farming and hunting encouraged.

You should change the loot drop amount on some of these series to really ramp up the apocalyptic feel to it. If loot drops at like 25% of normal and you're not finding any can foods, then you will really NEED to build a garden for food, rather than just doing it because you don't normally build one. For me this is always the best way to ramp up the difficulty on 7DTD, making the zombies take a bunch more hits is just annoying more than difficult, less loot actually makes things super difficult.
I’m sure you’ve heard it thousands of times, but those radiators are brass goldmines if you smelt them directly in the forge rather than scrapping. Infinite bullet casings! 😂 looking forward to the new series!
I saw a lot of cornmeal at the store yesterday. My roommate didn't know why I was giggling 😂. A lot of it.
I think we might see you using cornmeal. No airdrops means less medical supplies also. And you need cornmeal to make alcohol for first aid kits. :P And DO NOT scrap radiators or anything else made out of brass, smelt them directly, you loose brass when you scrap them, they smelt down for more when not scrapped.

Great to see a new challenge for you Glock9. I suggest next up be the "paleo gluten free vegan toxin cleanse challenge" where the only food you are allowed are cornmeal based foods. You can start with an inventory full of stacks of cornmeal.
Something I noticed is that canned food is plentiful... sometimes TOO plentiful. So i made myself a challenge to not eat it. As soon as i pick it up i scrap it. I grow stuff and stuff I've prepared. With canned food you dont even have to use the master chef perk or learn to grow anything. So maybe you could consider adding that to this series or maybe in the future.

Me and my wife are going to start off a game with the same restrictions as you and follow your adventures and see how we do on our side. Btw glock knives are one of the best melee weapons of the game the bleed effect stacks 7ish times doing around 7-10 damage per second for close to no stamina usage on top of a power attack that rivals that of the other weapons with a bit of investment you can one shot most zombies on warrior difficulty and in the case where they dont die the bleed finishes them off. Furthermore if you "miss" scratch the zombie bleed effects still stack up so you can't go wrong with the knives ^^
Take out the stairs inside the house and the attic of that tower(The part where you have to climb up the roof to get to) makes a great 7th day base then take a quest at that location to reset damage.
I really like the fact that you are trying lots of new things in this series it helps keep it fresh. :)
If you get corn, potato, and mushroom seeds you can make vegetable stew very easily, and it is pretty good.

Here's an idea for a base: create an easy method to funnel the Zeds down to the bat cave for extermination but have secured exits to the roof/higher floors to defend from there in case shit gets too heavy.

You should keep doing the home base/horde base being in the same location. It makes the series a lot more interesting. I've always found it sort of cheesy that you don't have to protect your home base from hordes, but oh well, that's the games design at work.
Not going to lie, your thumbnail and title (as a 7 days to die player myself that rarely plays) really caught my eye. Don't know what it is, but sounds interesting, I'm going to watch. :)

Damn man you cleared that place out fast with only basic weapons and a little blunder b ammo.That ramblin man training paid off! Oh yeah, might I suggest holding onto all those radiators and melting them down in forges instead of scrapping. You'll get a lot more brass out of it, and since they're already all in your home, you won't have to lug them around very far.
Did you know that the wrench makes a great melee weapon? Power attacks doesn’t drain much stamina and explodes heads!
I would construct a perimeter wall of some kind and fight the horde from there and fall back to house if needed. like a fort or castle wall.
Before you jump down there is a secret box in that shaft. and above you in the room after the library there is a box and a backpack. fyi. i usually ninjaloot this Place without aggro zombies, and get the higher ground on them (clim the Tower on the outside)
You should add the rule of taking ALL the cornmeal you come across and storing it in a separate unit hahaha. Looking forward to this series, now that you have the "Batcave" you shoud find a sidekick.

Should be a fun sieries! The house is huge and the mall close by means lots of exploration without wasting to much time traveling.
don't know if you would like this or not, but how about a series where you have to build your horde base, choose a house to live in, but you have to flip the house like in house flippers that you have done. maybe pick one of the towns in navegane and you have to work on flipping all the houses in that town? just a thought ;)

Once skills and club are upgraded you will never use the spear again. I only use the spear for stabbing vultures (not throwing) while walking backwards. They can't even touch you that way.
