    Thanks so much Elle!!! I've never watched a demo that has really shown me exactly how to put on eyeshadow. As a 67 year old woman I guess you CAN teach an old gal new tricks!

      @@darkspacie Never did Twiggy makeup. I did use eyeshadow, just one color, eyeliner upper lid and mascara. I do much more in some areas and much less in others. Don't want to emphasize the wrinkles! Frankly, I get compliments on my "beautiful blue eyes" frequently!

    This is a great tutorial. I'm going to incorporate them. I also got some smaller brushes...which I feel like people should talk about. As you stated brush size is so important. Even if you have giant eyes smaller brushes are great when learning placement I think. I wish someone had told me that sooner.

    Thank you! I love this video because it's so specific. Would you consider sometimes showing HOW you load the brush? I think I am using too much or not loading the rush properly. It would be great to see how much shadow and what angle you use to tap into the color.Thank you, Elle!

    • @ElleLearyArtistry
      @ElleLearyArtistry  4 роки тому +2

      sure!! but it usually is two pressings into the color but it also depends on how pigmented the shadow is that you are using

    • @angiee9075
      @angiee9075 4 роки тому +3

      A tip that works for me to not get too much shadow on the brush before I apply on my crease is to tap the excess powder off the brush right after you pick up the shadow. I tap the brush a couple times on the side of my sink and you can see how much comes off that would be applied to your eye crease and it's quite a bit. This really helps me gradually build color instead of having to blend it out if too dark. It really helps in getting that excess off and creating that softness and fade of colors blended out.

Am learning & doing something good for my skin @ the same time! Also, brush pressure is controlled by where you hold your brushes. The further away from the brush head the softer the pressure & visa versa. I hold my brushes as far away as I can to light hand shadows & for that heavier hand, closer

    I have tried this technique last night and just now (want to get a lot of practice in, as well as find the best brush of the very many I own, but thanks again to you Elle, I see I need to purchase smaller brushes for my eye size and shape). I am VERY HAPPY with the results. I will practice more and more with various colors. I love the way my eyes look, with just the two shadows, now to tightline with my faves U.D.;Alkaline 😉 and U.D. black, then curl and Lash Paradise.
    I originally started following you over two years ago for skincare, (I could never quite get the make up to look right). But lately since I've omitted powders (well I use my Becca undereye setting powder with two their brightening products also).
    Elle, I can't say enough about how much I've learned from you and you alone. (No offense to other youtubers, but you have a way with both skincare and makeup) we can agree to disagree on certain companies and I still have been benefiting greatly from your videos. ML&R ❤❤❤THANKS❤❤❤

    Really great and simple tips! I personally dont pack color in my crease. I just go right in with the crease brush and start at the outer corner and rub some shadow there first before going to my crease in a back and forth motion. Then I blend out, put on my lid color and touch up the outer corner if needed. Never thought to pack it down there first!

    Amazing tips, especially about picking the right brushes for your eye size! One year, I wanted to buy a set of Hakuhodo brushes and went to different UA-cam videos and listed all the model numbers I thought I wanted.
