Good info I got from TGK on twitter: "Hi! Not to be nitpicky, but we do have a health & damage increase on enemies and bosses linked with base NG+. The Final Judgment challenge adds even more damage to that balance." Firstoff, always happy for devs to be nitpicky (I started it this time anyways). Secondly, I'm curious if others noticed this? I really couldn't tell, even with dmg numbers on, that enemies/bosses had a health increase.
Interesting! I'm not surprised with the health orbs that I didn't noticed increased damage, but I am surprised I didn't notice enemies or bosses being tougher.
I’ve only been playing with three penances (spilled blood, chalice of guilt, and peace for the remorseful), but have noticed that bosses feel more tanky. Regular enemies, however, seem very similar to me.
@@Ren-bv4md yeah, but i mean, what's the point of taking all away from you when both mea culpa and this altarpiece are obtained very late in the game?🤔🤔 Also nice Gwyndolin pfp
GRIME did NG+ almost perfectly, the only minor drawback being lack of variety between the runs beyond being able to tackle bosses in any order you wanted thanks to having all abilities. So I think combining that approach with the penance challenges that force you to play a bit differently would be ideal.
my dream is to absolutely style on the chisel faceless with all of RuegAlba's combos + air dash honestly; i'd really like to nhst have the air dash from the beginning in NG+. moving around with the clean animation of the MC's slide+air dash spam feels so kinetically satisfying.
i like keeping items and weapons going into ng+. im not as concerned with story at that point but would love to match my new strength with scaled up versions of earlier bosses
NOTE - when you clear NG+ for the first time, if you get the base ending and dont destroy the envoy pieces, you get the envoy key item on the savefile without having to burn the 4 altar pieces.
@@sprc155 No, they are already counted if you start NG+ on a 100% game file, but Ive heard that specific achievement is buggy and for others it didnt pop even when they started a fresh save and beat NG+ after on that save.
hi, I love this game so much. This game is my LIFE. I literally can't live without it. Pls I want the game to reach maximum potential pls send it to the devs these missing features : 1- add A new menu for checking Blasphemous 2 achievements. 2- add an alert to the game that informs you when an achievement has been unlocked. 3- new godhome like area i really want to replay certain bosses only 4- cancel sliding animation with parry like the 1st game 5- new bosses in style of the amanecidas (changing music instrument depending on the boss) 6- MORE SAD music like una senda and gelida + let carlos viola do whatever he wants i literally learned all the tracks by heart 7-a near impossible and fast tempo platforming challenge with outstanding music 8- BLASPHEMOUS 3 of course ! pls take this very seriously this game means a lot for me thank you love you all
Man, I think you are being quite idealistic with this comment, even if you send this as an email to The Game Kitchen, they would ignore it (but give it a shot). Other than that, I think you should be patient and let them cook, is just the first DLC after all
Here's my two cents: Instead of making retaining items a penance, how about combine that with your last point. You can start a new save file in true torment mode if you like, which starts you with nothing and works as it does currently. Then, if you ascend a save, you keep your items from that save. That seems a little bit more intuitive to me, and that's how it works in Blas 1 with a specific mod. Which obviously isn't official, but it adds some nice parity between both games as well. Otherwise, I can see some issues with keeping mea culpa because of its effective replacement of Ruego, and with the movement abilities as well when it comes ti sequence breaks, but ultimately I agree with you on that.
I like the idea of having NG/NG+ work that way. My only hesitation is that its no longer opt-out of doing it in NG+ and some folks might want to do that and only keep the rewards. Flexibility was the driving factor behind making it a penance or something you can toggle, as well as making sure to adequately up the challenge to fit the extra resources. I think the issue with Mea Culpa and Ruego lies more in the design of them, not how they'd interface with NG+. I would be a bit bummed if MC specifically was kept from NG+ because that's the only weapon you can't use from the start. With the altarpiece allowing MC to do all of the abilities, it essentially does become the NG+ superweapon I theorized about xD
@ the idea is that you can opt-out of ng+ by starting from a blank save, seeing as the mode currently operates as an alternate challenge mode more than an ng+, this sort of accepts that as the identity, and has ng+ be the actual save ascension, and yeah I agree with you about MC and Ruego, but I can see some people being frustrated about ruego being effectively trumped by MC in ng+
I just beat the game with all penences ( i didn't get all the health and flask upgrades i pulled through with six orbs and 4 flasks that had been upgraded twice) for NG plus i really don't care most items even the abilities reseting but i would trade cherubs carrying through with weapons and their upgrades carrying through in a heartbeat i really don't know why they decided for cherubs to not reset and for me collecting points of martyrdom and in some runs grinding tears to buy every shop item is a pain so i just only wish for them to make it so weapons and their upgrades carry through
Maybe they do it later.I was desapointed as well. That is why i like the first game better is more dificult for me and we can do ng+without getting all of the weapons and upgrades.Meaning we cannot upgrade all the weapons to the max and that sucks i ONLY have veredito at max LVL and The main sword i forgot its name😅Blasphemous 2 is good but the first one have a special place in my❤
This update is SO glitchy. It keeps forgetting that I have the DLC, the enemy that summons an eye keeps attacking after it's dead, my weapon abilities won't trigger, damage resistances don't do anything... 😮💨
I do agree that introducing Mea Culpa into Blasphemous 2 might not have been the best choice, since it makes ruego al alba useless after aquiring Mea Culpa, I think the devs should just let blasphemous 2 be it's own game, and then re introducing Mea Culpa in a third chapter, it would make everyone happy, since acquiring Mea Culpa at the end of the game makes no sense, and brother Asterion and Anunciada have some kind of background lore that we know nothing about, I think it was a little forced, but at the end hopefully the devs realize if they left a clifthanger with Asterion at ending C, they better give a good explanation, otherwise, the series might suffer a big damage.
I was wondering if using one of the high resistance beads might do something, but I never came up because I could only use 1 bead anyways. I think it still goes a way toward negating the benefit of the other penance.
Shouldve made ng+ mea culpa only if you choose to have it from the beginning and get normally if not and the liberate alterpiece must be aquired to have that option.
Yeah the most egregious flaw of how NG+ was handled ties into the Mea Culpa weapon. Devs need to understand that it's a huge waste to give the player a cool weapon (and a paid one at that) when most of the game is already OVER. Then LOSING that weapon in the next cycle?? Twisted are the ways of the Miracle.
Agreed, the thing I want most from retaining items is to use MC for a whole run. The devs also spent a ton of time designing and testing that weapon, so I think we’re all interested in getting use out of it.
@@LoreHunterthat becomes even more baffling when you get the LIBERATED altarpiece, which lets mea culpa interact with bells and mirrors, so you Don't even Need to switch Weapons and can do a pure mea culpa run🤔

That’s a good point about being able to toggle penances! That would be a problem. Ultimately I’d like it to be optional and give a bump to the difficulty of enemies and bosses. At the start of the game you’ll still only have the map available for the first few areas unless you sequence skip. The main difference is that you’ll be able to get to all of the spots in an area as you move through if you’d like. This is how it functioned in the first game and it was fine.
@@LoreHunter yeah the last part really is a personal thing, I tend to get overwhelmed when I play metroidvanias and I enjoy having my abilities locked so I can progress more slowly and in a calmer way

Not all, the skull shows the limit to get the 6 rewards, but you need to collect all the items in the game, there are 28 (with 22 being the ones you collect and 6 being the NG+ rewards) new items, and completing the collection of rosary beads, prayers, and altarpieces gives you 3 points, completing the 31 for the achievement
Can we also campaign for a survival mode where you try to survive one single boss fight for as long as you can? The bosses' health bars deplete far too quickly for my liking (also, I want to hear an extended version of the bosses' osts Viola composed). I noticed that each phase of every bosses are also tied to the OST (Radames stands around the middle of Eco de los Pecados, Infanta's portion has its own pianoforte segment in Vivo, etc.) so maybe they could just... have the phases timed? (ie: maybe have 3 minutes for each phase or, as an easier alternative, maybe have the player smack dab into the final phase immediately [as in, skip right to the final phases]).Look, I really just want to hear Carlos Viola's OST for as long as I could while in a fight. Besides this, I also want another version of Sacred Sorrows for B2... I'm sure this isn't the first DLC for the game, so... I want these two features added.
