Thanks for the tip about using oil to remove nasty perfume. I tried Roja Parfums' Diaghilev Extrait the other day and it was so difficult to wash off. I like some of his other stuff but definitely not that one.

Too many reviewers let their personal likes/dislikes cloud reviews when that is just personal taste and has nothing to do with the actual quality of the perfume.

I think you nailed it Aaron. Love the original A*Men, and this one is a close second. Absolutely a youthful fruity amber and always reminded me of the scent of dark red gummi bears. Great mass appealing patchouli throughout.
I agree - I'm a huge fan of A*Men line in general, but they are entirely synthetic to me, and I have to be in the right mood to wear any of them. More natural fragrances are far more versatile.

I have a bottle of cheap vegetable oil and cheap Sodium laureate sulphate based shampoo ready to hand. Remember to put the shampoo over the oil and then apply water. Thats the key bit.
My dear Aaron, I have a blending question: Are there boozy accords based on Amber? I'm getting boozy notes from pure Amber, less sweet than Rum, but something similar to Cognac and Whisky. If yes, with what other notes would you pair Amber to get a full bodied round boozy accord? Thank you!

I got the 2020 version Malted milk with vanilla, sugar, abstract berry like fruits, abstract woods, only thing I thought I could identify were Patchouli, cinnamon dry down and alcohol opening. I'd hate my 200£ Single malt to smell like this.

This thing went for HUNDREDS on ebay years ago! Many a time I found myself feverishly bidding on a bottle around 2011 and losing out. Thankfully Mugler reissued it as a permanent line. I have a bottle of the original, the first reissue and the 2013 Pure Malt Creation!
Ironically, I don't find it particularly boozy. It smells sweet woody aromatic to me. But, as you said, very sophisticated for a synthetic designer frag.

I generally love boozy fragrances but for some reason I don’t really like Pure Malt. It’s nice but it’s just doesn’t capture me the way some other boozy things do 🤷♂️
I like the scent but it just doesn't do well on me when I wear it. It contradicts my personality where I don't want people to portray me in such way cause I prefer some more refined scents but I do enjoy pure malt. However it feels as if the fragrance is wearing me instead of I'm wearing it, hence I spray it when I'm alone only to appreciate the boozy notes by myself.
Am I the only one new to this trying to like this and understand the hype? I keep smelling my wrist. I smell mostly the original A*men. And Havane is better and more unique. No note stands out with Malt and I can't tell what i'm smelling. Same fruity honey top as Havane- I am so confused. The only distinctness is a smokiness in the mid. Then same A*men dry down. AND i'm smelling the very first 2009 you guys.
STLL never warmed up to this much- I am going to try the creation 2013 special edition version- there's like zero reviews on this so I guess I'll try it myself.

Pure Malt is discontinued now and it's brilliant for the price point. One of my favourites of all time.

I have dish soap in the shower since it cuts through oils and grease more than body soaps. Ouds take 2 days to wash off otherwise.
Try the oil on dry skin first then put on shampoo then apply water. really massage the oil in and then really emulsify together then apply water.

Both are dark and sweet but not similar when it comes to scent DNA. Extreme is often compared with TF Noir Extreme.
