You should’ve had them smell both of the drydowns! Pure malt has a very off putting opening if you’re nose is not trained to smell anything other than blue freshies. I almost passed up Pure Malt until I let it drydown and went back to it and purchased my first bottle at Macy’s as it surpassed ANYTHING I had ever smelled to that point. And still rivals a lot of stuff in my 60+ bottle collection. I’m happy to say I have 3 bottles of it as it has been discontinued too

Appreciate your channel. Word of advise, try to have the fragrance pre sprayed. As dry down of a fragrance last longer & the fragrance would be more smooth without the harsh alcoholic opening. This way we can get a better opinion of people. When I spray any of my fragrance in my house my wifey usually doesn’t like the first 10 min of any fragrance I have including pure malt but when the fragrance settles down. She loves the way I smell & the house.
That's what I was planning to do but because of the current situation with corona at the moment people aren't feeling safe touching any objects, therefore they must pick it up themselves and I fresh spray so that they agree to join me otherwise they will say no 🙅🏾♂️ hopefully things change soon and thanks a lot bro I appreciate your words ❤️

Bro, nobody gets pure malt for the opening so this test is invalid, lol. You have to wait like 10 minutes, then smell it. Plus, I get at least 10 hours with Pure Malt. Ultimate is just another fresh scent.

Not a fair comparison. They are not similar smelling. I own both and they are both one of my favorite fragrances. Pure Malt is basically smells like whisky. A boozy woody vanilla. Living up to its name. You’ll find this on most peoples top ten list. The opening is strong and mostly alcoholic. But it’s all about the dry down. Ultimate is my favorite of the two because it’s sweeter and more versatile but in the fragrance community it’s frowned upon because it’s not long lasting. It’s citrusy fresh with a sweet creamy cappuccino dry down. To me it’s more of a sugary cream dry down than coffee like. My scores: Ultimate opens with an 8 and drys down to a 7. Pure malt opens up with 6.5 and finishes with 8 on dry down. Therefore I give them both about an 7.5, 8 ish but remember they smell very different. Scores of 7 or 8 is basically excellent because there are 1000s of fragrances. To be that high means you can’t go wrong.
Pure Havane beats both opening and on dry down. People won’t say this but woman actually follow your scent trail when you pray pure havane on the pulse points max 7 sprays 2 on the neck being the ears , 1 on the chest, 2 on the wrist, 2 behind the knees
If I have learned anything, openings are very misleading. Some are very good some are ok and some are not very good. Most don’t last. The old school fragrances from the seventies and eighties have legitimate openings, middles and dry downs and the transitions are slow and noticeable. Today’s frags are designed to grab you with the opening which quickly disappears and then most of them end up smelling the same and are weak.

I agree with your assessment. 👌🏼 Both are great 👍🏼 as well as Pure Havane. But as they dry down, that is where the magic is.

completely agree with this. I sprayed it while at the mall and the opening was a meh for me. But damn after like 15mins I can’t stop smelling my hand.
