Honestly if I was this good and had 0 views I would probs think of doing the same thing... if I was 15yrs old, but right now I just go "it is what it is" and continue improving my fundamentals one step at a time, not caring about recognision because I am here for the art itself, not the audience, you will understand when you get older 👍
Imagine pretending to be a noob just to get attention... But then again, the artist has a point on putting countless hours on a piece and get NO ATTENTION from it, while a low-effort shitpost they made in 5 minutes ends up being the most popular thing they made.
so thats why I cant blame the tiktoker for doing it yes it is bad but beginners and pros get way more attention than people in the middle (not a pro nor a beginner)
I'll be honest, spending hours and effort into making art just for some fake internet likes is not the way to go. You keep drawing because you want to improve for yourself, if all you care about is wanting to get hundreds of thousands of likes then that's just bad mentality to keep making art. Don't treat social media likes as the only reason to make art, treat it like a diary that keep track of your drawing progress instead. There are plenty of artists who made some good looking art that started off with barely any likes, but they still keep posting and eventually they gathered tons of audience.
I'm just staying away from tiktok in general. Every community I'm interested in being apart of on there is sus (i.e. half of booktok loving Colleen Hoover's "romance books")
As a young artist who was convinced that my art was amazing, I spent over a decade drawing and i haven't noticed improvement until 3 days ago, no joke. Remember, Every artist online does not post all their art. They only post their best pieces. Art takes time and people need to understand that. Some may learn faster than others, but the outcome will be worth it if you put work in. Keep going!
I noticed that while I've been improving its been really hard for me to do certain things and I'm not thr greatest at the fundamentals, I applaud others who aren't too great at what they do but still do it cause at least they're tying and gonna improve
Since everyone's going on about their art skills in this reply section, I guess I'll add in my curse: I'm naturally good at shading and decent enough at reflections, but I CANNOT SKETCH/OUTLINE FOR MY LIFE. I do not care that I could make a hyper-realistic apple (with reference ofc), I wanna draw funny characters doing funny things with the worst shading known to man D:
I used to be so convinced that my art and animation looked good until I finally noticed it really didn’t, I’ve been trying to improve fundamentals as well as other things. Even if your art isn’t the best we should all keep trying and improving!
Why does art tiktok remind me of the shy kids who wanted to be theatre kids, but were too awkward so instead to save their egos they thought they were better than everyone because they were just "more chill"
Honestly? I just feel bad for the fake beginner artist. Clearly they are very skilled but don't receive much attention nor support which is common for intermediate artists. For the people who genuinely don't understand why this person didn't just show their real art from the beginning, the answer is they probably did (on a dif account) but felt disheartened as people usually only interact with crazy good professional artists or beginner ones, that's just how the internet works. Edit: I think some people are misunderstanding my point a little bit. In no way am I justifying what this person has done! It is clearly the wrong thing to do but I also don't think this behaviour warrants a bunch of hate, hopefully it'll be a learning point for the artist:)
I feel bad for them too, but really pretending to be something you're not isn't cool- on top of that making other people feel bad while doing it. Someone else said it's like faking illnesses to get attention and I 100% agree. I think this person only thought about themselves when they decided to do this which is.. Sad, to say the least. But it's not like a terrible crime. But all for some attention is crazy on the real Edit: forgot to add but I'm not hating, just giving my opinion. Moral of the story, you're never going to get big and popular by pretending.
@@cosmic_ghostbruhwell you see, they were probably young and felt their effort deserves more attention, I get that, becoming mediocre at drawing (the "good enough for commisions" type) takes A LOT of effort and time, like years out of your life, even worse if you have no mentor to guide you, so I can see why would someone pull a stunt like this, but along the way to the mastery you just learn that you dont care about the audience, but rather for the craft itself and as your skill improves and gets to "actualy good" levels people would start paying a bit more attention
You know what? I'm gonna do exactly that because im sick of my old account posting for 3 years and got nothing. Might as well use any tactic to actually have a career on art
@@krsmanjovanovic8607 I agree with you, 100%. I don't wish hate on them but I hope the situation helped them learn that pretending to be something you're not is seriously a dickhead move (and just to gain attention is crazy.) But I do think that this person is young, so I'm not going to hate on them. But like I said, it's just like faking illnesses for attention just because not having one gives you no views. You get me?
Im honestly just shocked that people actually believed that they where a beginner lol. It took me 2 YEARS to get where i am at making art and its still less quality then this persons actual art. it is nearly, no, straight up IMPOSSIBLE to improve that much in only a FEW DAYS.
I mean, I do think it's possible to make that kind of improvement quickly because I did something similar. I never really continued drawing after my 6th one because it took so much work each time and it wore me down quickly but I also had people not believe at first that I was a total beginner because I had a similar jump between my very first drawing and my 2nd drawing, my first had pretty much no real shading/lighting, the lineart was awful and messy, the pose was nonexistent just a stiff board with no hands and arms glued to the side of her body, for the 2nd I basically spent 3 full days and nights redrawing parts of it over and over until I figured out how to make everything work to make a dynamic anatomically correct pose with decent lighting/shadows and good line weight, and none of my 6 drawings look like they were made by the same person or similar skill levels.
Yeahh, I started drawing ever since I knew how to pick up a pencil and it still looks like crap💀 I'm honestly offended as I also discovered Candie and looked up to her, like all the others💦
We should, It's very discouraging for the REAL beginners. Imagine doing art for 2-3 month and gradually improving just to see someone doing the same progress for less than a week
@@こんとる-k3bthis is a bad mentality to have, simply because there will always be someone better than you. This person may have lied about being a beginner, but there are actual beginners out there that do improve fast. If seeing a person do better/improve faster is enough to discourage artists, then said artists have some person issues that need to be addressed.
honestly this shouldn't be such big of a deal I as an intermediate artist, I also get frustrated because only crazy pro artists or beginner artists gets attention while us, in the middle of pro and beginners, seems to get not a lot of attention The 170 followers on twitter I got is what I worked for 2 years to get. and I get jealous when people joined for less than a month, yet they got 4K followers and they're just a shitposting account I don't blame her for doing that, I'd quit an account a LOT of times because I am like any other people on the social media, I want attention. but I dont get the attention I want no matter how much I draw I'm didn't resort to questionable methods to gain attention is because I'll be guilty of what I am doing, and I simply don't want to be an attention seeker
As an artist myself i agree very much, i recommend showing youre art to friends and family, if they like it you can get some good atention Also remember that youre art isn't bad, its just that 1 picture of the probaly milions posted each day is hard for people on the App to find, im sure a lot of people like youre art. Stay motivated
Yeah, I feel you in this. It’s frustrating to work tirelessly on all ur pieces only to get only a few likes each.. but gotta keep going iguess because you’ll never know when you’re gonna get lucky someday :”D👍
Bro, advertising works. Spend a little bit on paid promotion on Instagram or any other social network and you will get what you want. It costs less than buying yourself a new smartphone.
been posting 150 art for 3 years on Instagram, only get 140 followers. I already quit posting art on social media, I just showed it to friends on discord, honestly a lot better feedbacks than Insta.
Although a part of me feels bad for the fake beginner artist, the other half of me feels that fake beginners who appears to ‘improve’ rapidly may be discouraging to beginner artists who feel they aren’t good at art at all for not improving at the rate candie does
I feel for them, but no one is owed a social media following, no matter what level of skill they have. This clearly came from a place of a bruised ego, not a genuine experiment. What they did isn’t the end of the world, and I don’t think they should be bullied off the internet completely, but making people who supported what they thought was a beginner artist feel like they’d been duped or deceived is really shitty and probably going to bring more scrutiny on actual beginner artists who improve at a good pace now.
It's not shitty. because it just proves what false snakes they all are and proves the person's point. you should ilke the ART and not pity someone not actually caring for the art but only for their status. it reminds me of the artists here who try to generate clout pushing "disabled artist does stream" and it turns out they have depression. wow. in that case all atists I know could use these terms. and people fall for it and pity them. not even caring for the art. that are fake people. similar to "i write you a comment if you write me a comment" trade without caring or really have intention to write because of the art. people who just pity someone because of their status or life situation, heritage, orientation or sickness in the art section don't deserve anything good. it's like false friends. so these people weren't harmed at all. they actually harmed with their behavior.
Finally someone who's making this point!, I'm so glad for your take. Making this into such a big deal when the person who did this is a literal kid will never not be wild to me, they did a dumb thing as teens do, and they apologized.. why are we still talking about it? I've seen comments from the kid who did it on another video and from what I've seen all of this have been stressing them out a lot. I don't think it's a good idea to make it a big deal when they already knows what they did is wrong..
Fr it's like if your kid intentionally threw a can of soda when they got mad and your partner scolded and made fun of them for days. Like the mess is cleaned up, the kid said they were sorry and probably won't be doing it again. Idk why we as a community can't just learn from it and move on
@@somestrangecreature9631 people just love to jump on trends for a couple of likes, TikTok has normalized not having empathy and compassion and just being overall inhumane. The brainrot is getting out of hand..
@@phryos6541 Yeah pretty much. Not that beginner artists are to blame, but when people successfully harass them off the app it just reinforces the idea that bullying will silence the people who they don't like. So they just keep trying to do it to literally anyone. I stopped showing my art on there and eventually deleted the app because of it.
Trust me, I’m not a beginner I will admit, im an artist of about 10-11 years. I started socials not too long ago, and I post on ibis and yt. I can agree it’s extremely difficult to grow an account, people have grown cruel and bitter. Hate comments come more and more, and I am here to say gaining popularity is now just of sheer luck. There’s so many amazing artists trying to start their social journey, old and new. We should be looking to support every one of them. I personally try to find underrated artists bc you can just get a more personal experience with them. We need to start supporting our future artists.
I can sort of understand why people would do this, because I feel like it's fair to say most artists aren't gonna pop off on social media just by the quality of their work; this is probably why people keep trying devious strategies like this one. The problem is that the hyper-sensationalisation of art like this just feeds the kind of environment that lead to the problem in the first place. The nature of social media is to demand this kind of grandstanding, but by folding under the pressure you are pretty much committing yourself and everyone else to an ever-escalating arms race of increasingly duplicitous and grandiose gestures like the one seen here/ PS Looking dripped as hell in this one bro 🥶
Fake Beginner Artists? That’s kinda similar to people faking illnesses to get attention, Now obviously one is more harmful than the other but you can see how the two are similar
Uhm... illness shouldn't be compared to art tbh, though I get what you mean. I think that this scenario shows how badly so many artists online are treated.
Honestly a pretty valid experiment at the cost of hurting your long run. I think this should moreso highlight the community they have over there but no ones gonna take those notes for awhile
I honestly doubt they hurt their anything. Likely the opposite even in worst case scenario. They were sitting at 50 followers on their main account. If that level of art skill hadn't garnered them more followers, it's safe to say they were never realistically getting more without some serious social media marketing tricks. Even negative publicity like this is going to give them thousands of legitimate followers, as there will always be those who sympathize and those who simply don't care and want to see some cool art. If they continue posting art, in a few years there won't be anyone left who remembers or cares about the 2 week period where they faked being a beginner. Especially as they came clean and apologized. That's the sad reality of social media. If you're a complete unknown and nobody cares about you, then there's basically zero downside to negative exposure outside of mean comments and DM's. In terms of your social media presence, you will without a doubt see massive growth and retention, and actually get a chance to establish yourself.
thanks for that little tip of picking a color from the already made color pallete of the drawing and then using that as a shadow and then adding multiply. You dont know how long ive been trying to figure that out because honestly i hate using purple as a shadow color
It feel not that deep to me. People say it made real beginner artists feel jealous or bad but when I was a beginner artist I already felt that way with other professionals around me. It’s not that deep, and the faker apologized profusely about it so I don’t get why people are still mad?
Artists do go through what i call an art growth spirt, however this takes at least 2 years to reach and it's a lot more gradual then this. Beginner Artists just keep drawing and you eventually will get your artistic growth spirt and so much will fall into place. And don't worry if its takes awhile to reach, i was a late bloomer with my art!
It's so sad to think talented artist who don't get recognition had to fake being a beginner artist/or their age just to get attention proves how social media detoriated people :(( it wasn't like this back then
I believe this points out another problem too, on their complaint that their OG art did not get enough attention. putting their actions aside, which I am NOT supporting, it is honestly sad how crappy social media treats artists. I mean just think about it. Sure there are SOME popular artists but what gets the most attention is brainrot, ragebait or bait in general, toxic content, etc. the algorithm promotes bad content so bad content is what this creator stumbled to to get attention. This is on all social media btw.
honestly the fact that someone had to pretend to be a beginner just to get attention is sad. Yes its good to support beginners and watching them improve feels great but finding and supporting underrated artists is important too
when you decide to share art on social media, you have to do so with the understanding that your account is not likely to blow up and be "big". it has taken those larger accounts a lot of time and a lot of dedication to get where they are, it doesn't just happen overnight. for every medium to big account you have 50 small ones who go under the radar, found by chance. it sucks, it really does, but that's just what happens in the state of the community right now. you have to learn to be content just sharing to share. if you constantly post in hopes of being that big artist you admire, you're always going to feel unfulfilled and angry when it doesn't happen. learning to be content with your account where it is at any time is a HUGE part of being on social media that a lot of people ignore because they see shiny accounts "making it" and focus too much on the numbers. if you take off, that's absolutely amazing and i hope your account grows. please, though, don't do what candie did. do i think she should be chased off the web? no. does she need a timeout to reflect on her actions? absolutely. i hope she can come back and be an artist with integrity and be content sharing with the people who want to see her work, and maybe it'll grow from there. these bait accounts ain't it, and it's no surprised as many people were as mad as they were. this wasn't the right way to go about this at all. i hope this served as a lesson for candie. and she should call it what it is, which was a ruse to garner attention to be "big", not a social experiment. i hope she realizes how it wasn't worth garnering the attention she got in this manner. it's going to follow her for a very long time, so she's got work to do if she decides to come back.
This kinda shit is why I stay away from social media now. My relationship with my art has become so much healthier, since numbers weren't a factor anymore. It's sad, that some artists feel like they have to lie to make their art seem worthwhile, when it already is, no matter how many eyes see it.
But there's people like me who wants to make money with art and, in order to do it, I need more likes and followers. Sucks more to be an intermidiate artist rather than being a beginner as I can see.
yea... kinda sad to see other TRUTHFUL and beginning artist showing off there works and seeing her artworks and improvement she got. Tbh, it made me think that arts isnt really for untalented people like me, its for talented people like her.
@@kashsy-jc7624 not to be one of those annoying "erm.. actually" people who give unsolicited advice, but art isn't a talent most of the time, it's a skill. Yeah, there probably are a lot of artists with innate creativity and ability to put what's in their mind on paper, but most good artists on the internet had to learn to get their skill level. I'd reccomend to keep drawing. Obviously don't force it otherwise you probably won't improve much, but if you practice for even just 20 minutes a day you can improve pretty quickly. I'd also reccomend realistic goal setting. For me personally I always set goals way above my skill level when I was a beginner and it made art frustrating. To the point where I stopped enjoying it for months.
In gaming word, this action is called "Smurf" When you're really good at a game but just want to act like you're a newbie, then beat the real newbie for fun or get attention. Yes, it's mostly just for fun.
We all know that real begginer artists wont say: "Ow man im so bad at this" **procceeds to draw either a bad thing or peak art** Real begginer artists are like: "Nah bro my art is good now stfu" **Proceeds to draw a stickmen** False begginer artists just try to get attention while bring pick me's. Real begginer artists will not listen to your advice and rather just do their thing.
I also had that though, ill give you a hint, show youre art to the peoole that actuly matter in youre life, family and friends where you can acutly get attention , never give up, maybe just take a break tho, drawing is exhausting just like every hobby or creative job.
@@MisaMisaIsOnTop wdym I wasn’t talking about her lying for attention I meant that she used social media’s attention thereby social media has detiorated Mohammed said it himself in the comment
I’m glad this is being talked about at all. Cause it always gave me really weird vibes, it never interested me in the slightest. I feel it sets a bad example, too. It makes artists look super petty. Like, “ooo but see, I’m actually super good, I totally had you fooled!” I dunno what’s to gain from it besides wanting attention and validation. It’s like pretending you’re helpless when you’re actually fully capable. Obviously it’s not the worst thing an artist can do, but it’s still super weird.
is easy the why behind of this. When you start drawing and uploading the ugly phase of learning everyone suport you, giving you words of encouragement and motivation to keep working. Then when you reach a dead sea or plato, when you are not good enogh to be a pro but not a complete beginer no one comments your art. At the end, the beginer artist improves and no need to be more suport. I feel like that sometimes.
I remember being hated for giving beginner artist fair rating, and I gave advices and was not toxic(agressive). But even when I come up with constructive criticism, people still hated me, lol. Like what I had to do? Give stupid ass empty praises?
NGL if I was a kid in the time of tiktok with those skills I could see myself doing something similar lmao I'm glad that I grew up when oekaki board communities existed because they (at least the ones I was on) really rallied around each other so you didn't necessarily need to do something like this for your work to get attention, crit, etc. :( I hope Candie can overcome this bump and keep up the beautiful work but I totally understand needing a break from toxic online environments too. Good luck Candie! Thanks for the video
It’s really sad that they had to pretend to be a beginner for actual traction. Main reason I dropped tiktok, anyone stuck in the middle will be left behind unless you have found yourself in drama. It’s dumb and it’s really sad
Ykw even tho what they did was kinda crappy art shoved to the side by the algorithm is genuinely so annoying and demoralizing and they probably have a decent amount of veiws now so good for them
Tbh, I don't draw as often as I would like to because I was discouraged by how BAD my work was, when I really just couldn't figure out how to draw what I was envisioning in my head in the first place. I'm still struggling to figure things out, but can draw basic humanoid forms. If I had seen this kind of improvement when I was doubting the fact that art is slow to improve, that would have just solidified my thoughts and I might have never opened a drawing app again because I would be thinking that I was just so bad at it.
This whole situation just makes me sad. It is very annoying to spend so much time on your art and not get any engagement. A lot of people use attention seeking as an insult, but if you're an artist on social media, then, of course, you would be seeking attention. That's how it works. No one posts art on the internet just because. They do it to have other people see it. It's sad that they had to go so far to get engagement. I'm not mad at them. I'm mad at how desperate it's gotten to get noticed on the internet as an artist.
We have a lot of social friction as well, lately, over how information reaches far enough that anyone competitive is now competing with... what was it, 8 billion people? While you might have been the best artist you know in your area, or nearly the best but aspiring to be the best, if you suddenly add every other great artist in the world, you suddenly find yourself small and insignificant, which can make some people very... manipulative.
drawing for attention is a slippery slope. it could put you in a mental state that isn't healthy. if you gain traction, it's not going to last forever. when you eventually lose traction or never gain any, it could deter you. many years ago i did exactly this. i posted my art back when DA was ehh... kinda okay. before i started posting some of my art, i was just doing it because i wanted to, to see how far i could go. and when i started posting art and started having expectations to gain interaction and seeing as i had exactly none for a long time (maybe 2-3 years?), i threw the towel in for quite some time. it was effecting me as an artist because it made me think that i just wasn't good enough and should just stop wasting my time. it stunted my progress to becoming better for years. i have only come back to it recently because i had managed to remind myself of why i did it in the first place. and even then it's not as fun or doesn't feel as accomplishing as it was back then, but it is getting better. i'm not here to condemn the idea entirely, but to give a warning. the side effects of feeling how i did are why this video exists. (tho im not nearly as good as the artist featured lol)
Although this is sad, I personally think it is possible to see this kind of improvement and regression. In my college days I had this exact thing happen after watching literally one concept cookie video. It was insane and I thought a spirit had entered my body! Sometimes you just find that guy that makes it click so good and I live for it
i dont support their actions whatsoever but their normal art wouldnt have a big chance at getting attention i saw so many artists stop at 3 k max and thats it
yeah, the fake beginner and fake age thing has been a thing for a long time. "Hey guys, look at this unbelievable high-level artwork. I'm 12 BTW" and boom, let the [ like/share/comment/engagement ] farming began
I've been trying to grow my art following on social media for MONTHS and barely grew (5-30 followers each) meanwhile these fake beginner artists blow up seemingly so easily is so disheartening
The fact that the "new art" is literally just. Retracing of the card's in project sekai 😭😭😭😭 being in the fandom its very obvious that they just traced the art of official cards 😭
And that can be seen as she's still in the beginning stage, hence the tracing cause she doesn't know how to draw on her own. Ngl but the 'new art'is not at intermediate or pro level. hence a beginner, just not the absolute one.
I love the people who first commented nice things on their first video like its so positive, if only candie didnt fake it for attention, this is so petty
I actually would’ve believed this. When I was younger, like elementary-early middle school age, I was drawing constantly. In just one drawing I would massively improve and my mom was more and more impressed with each drawing. I’m still not the best with anatomy, but I can draw from reference like nobody’s business and without a reference I’m not half bad. I don’t know if i got that good in just a week, but maybe a month to go from this person’s beginner level to their current level (if I drew every day). My drawings before looked really similar to these slightly improved ones.
As a 3d artist i feel this There are an unbelievable amount of people that go "my first model in blender teehee" and then proceeds to show a fully modeled human body with perfect topology It really sucks
I have a real story: I followed a then-hobbyist furry artist on Twitter. He didn't have a lot of skills or followers, but his characters looked nice. After about a year or two, in the month of October 2020, his art skills started to improve. At first, the improvements seemed to be nice and gradual and made sense. He was starting to learn more advanced skills and features in his digital software, but his style was still very similar. But then, something strange happened. Over the course of 4 weeks, every next piece he made, his skill jumped to a whole new level, up until it was indistinguishable from professional art from an artist who trained for years. It blew my mind. It only took four weeks for him to learn all of the anatomy, gesture, form, perspective, backgrounds, proportions, shading, color theory, etc. and with hindsight, I think he was learning and practicing these things long before his sudden improvement, even if only traditionally without showing any of that to the public. He could just actually have learned and improved that fast, but it takes insane talent and dedication to improve that fast, and I dont know how that's possible. Now, he is a famous NSFW artist with tens of thousands of followers. Did he fake his improvement? I don't know. But did this affect me mentally? Yes. It made me believe in some artists having a better brain or more talent, and was one of the things that made me stop using Twitter regularly due to the way it's built.
@@Ichigitchyyayadada it can be crazy how much you can learn in just a few weeks. i had art block so i didnt draw for the entire season of spring and only watched art videos or studied pictures of things/people without actually drawing. and when i started drawing again last month my skills suddenly jumped many levels. i guess im a visual learner since when i went back to drawing it felt like my hand go just move on its own when all ive been doing the past few months before was watching peoples speedpaints and art processes. a change in the way you work really helps.
As bad as it is for an artist to not get recognized, their actions did harm and that out weighs their intention. I hope they are okay and learned, but they shouldnt have done that :/
@@glasperle77 it can harm beginners artist and how people from the outside look in. It can make beginners artist feel bad/hurt because an artist they look up to who is supposedly a beginners, was actually an artist who's been doing it for a while. And for outsiders, it makes the art community look like frauds gullible people. Creatives are already having a hard time being considered credible if it's not a fine art, so this isn't the best. It did no physical harm, but it still did harm. Although it is not major and will be forgotten in less than a weekend, it would have been better without it. If you feel that way, I think you should watch the video again or take some time to understand the ethics when it comes to art and artists.
The same issue like this has been an on-going thing in the miniature painting community for decades now. You'll see posts like "My first/second attempt at painting X" and they show you a mini that's clearly from someone who has been in the hobby for at least 5-6 months, considering all the advanced techniques they've used.
Honestly, I feel like this artist pretty much proved you can't become a skilled artist overnight. It takes lots of practice, time, and patience. It's a little messed up that they did it for attention BUT they came clean and owned up for their mistake.
Though I wouldn't really call myself a "beginner artist", I still do struggle with poses, shading, and lighting! I won't deny that sometimes a person art style can change fast. Only just this year have I been getting out of the phase of drawing literal stickmen like what I've been doing for more than half of my life, and if you look at my drawing from March/May of this year you can tell theres been an improvement But being able to alter your entire art style in the span of 14 days? Hell no. My slow ass couldn't even produce more than one drawing in that time frame and they completely changed their art in such a short time frame Only silver lining is that at least they apologized and what seems like their actual art style seems to very good! And I fully agree with their statement about their art getting barely any likes. I post my art on my alt on youtube and tiktok account. My art stuff doesn't get much views yet my shit posts get a lot, and though I'm not posting for attention it still feels a little sad knowing nobody sees or really cares about what I'm doing. Also this channel is amazing! Your voice is very relaxing and calm to listen to, and I love how you approach each situation objectively and calmly without letting a lot of emotion get in the way
It's similar to the smurfs in the gaming community. They say they are terrible at the game, infiltrate the beginner ranks and find pleasure in destroying all of them, all the while, they are NOT bad and are actually an alternate account from the highest ranks! They wanted to have some easy fun and praise by farming the newbies. All it does is discourage people form wanting to play if even the newbie ranks are flooded with s rank ops.😓
Honestly i completely understand why they would do this, working for hours and putting a lot of effort on a piece just for it to get zero attention is exhausting and im talking from experience, it can be very frustrating to see literal beginners improving so fast and gaining the recognition some of us could only dream about
Crazy how TikTok became the app for brainrot and nonsense, like in 2020 when I first heard of the app it was just people doing dances, memes and stuff, it wasn't this way, how did we go from dancing, challenges, memes shortform content to now with all this stuff? What started the change? I'm so confused.
Because it isn't the platform, but the people. As you add more people, you end up with people who feel the need to be louder, more manipulative, etc, for attention -- which is why I'm not surprised to see fake beginners on TikTok, because there are also fake beginners on UA-cam. Then this only gets worse if there is money to be made, because then people will actively be competing to be the bigger, more terrible person.
As a object show fan, I can probably draw the unique and cool object OC(s) by using the reference on Ibis Paint X, we should draw better art at 11 years old.
This has the vibes of when on old UA-cam people would do heinous pranks against the general public and then go "it's a social experiment!!!" As an excuse
okay but i personnally never expected better. The fandom is full of teens so reasonable and mature behavior is a rarity. Like this is an average young audience fandom experience. We have seen worst lmao
As an artist who posts there art online, I rarely get any attention on my work even tho I spend HOURS and HOURS on my work. It’s really disheartening to spend so much time on something and not really getting attention. So I get why candie made a “beginner” account to get attention.
As much as I feel for them, I feel like they also need to understand and accept that they will not get as much followers as they hope as an intermediate artist. I am I guess a intermediate artist, so I do understand why they would do that, but I've also just accepted that my art isn't going to get as much attention as big artists. Hell, one of my most famous shorts is a low effort shitpost, but I know that's just how it be. A good way to try and combat this is just accepting the amount of followers you have. You may have 2 followers, but that's still 2 people who take the time out of their day to see you. It may not be as impressive as say 20k, but you also have to realize that these are people that are following you (well, unless you get a bot) and 20 followers could be 20 people in a room, and that's a lot
I've been drawing in some way shape or form for 15 years and posting art online for roughly 7. Only recently have I reached 1000 followers on tumblr, which for me was a crazy feat. I get the feeling of being ignored when you spend countless time on a project, but taking away spotlight from actual beginner artists by claiming yourself as a beginner, even as a social experiment, just isn't the way to go.

I mean, what they said, as long as it is a social experiment then it is fine (maybe) if it’s for fun then I think it’s bad
It's very discouraging and upsetting, Imo.
Yes! It’s a bit misleading and discouraging to real beginner artists, who may think, oh if this is what a ‘beginner ‘ artist is than what am I?
Seeing actually talented artists pretending to be beginners for attention is just sad.
to be fair it just shows how bad social media has deteriorated😭
Honestly if I was this good and had 0 views I would probs think of doing the same thing... if I was 15yrs old, but right now I just go "it is what it is" and continue improving my fundamentals one step at a time, not caring about recognision because I am here for the art itself, not the audience, you will understand when you get older 👍
It is sad
That's honestly genius. Hell, if only everyone that improves this fast are just people faking their progress rate...
That's called going back to ur roots
Imagine pretending to be a noob just to get attention... But then again, the artist has a point on putting countless hours on a piece and get NO ATTENTION from it, while a low-effort shitpost they made in 5 minutes ends up being the most popular thing they made.
so thats why I cant blame the tiktoker for doing it

I'll be honest, spending hours and effort into making art just for some fake internet likes is not the way to go. You keep drawing because you want to improve for yourself, if all you care about is wanting to get hundreds of thousands of likes then that's just bad mentality to keep making art. Don't treat social media likes as the only reason to make art, treat it like a diary that keep track of your drawing progress instead. There are plenty of artists who made some good looking art that started off with barely any likes, but they still keep posting and eventually they gathered tons of audience.

Yes, I think that so
I feel bad for them too, but really pretending to be something you're not isn't cool- on top of that making other people feel bad while doing it. Someone else said it's like faking illnesses to get attention and I 100% agree.
I think this person only thought about themselves when they decided to do this which is.. Sad, to say the least. But it's not like a terrible crime. But all for some attention is crazy on the real
Edit: forgot to add but I'm not hating, just giving my opinion.

The "starter" ones were slightly obvious, a bit too good to be from a "beginner"
It is, I did that kind of improvement as a kid. That's just because I had A LOTTT of free time to practice and I bingwd like 500 tutorials overnight.

The nature of social media is to demand this kind of grandstanding, but by folding under the pressure you are pretty much committing yourself and everyone else to an ever-escalating arms race of increasingly duplicitous and grandiose gestures like the one seen here/

This is on all social media btw.
honestly the fact that someone had to pretend to be a beginner just to get attention is sad. Yes its good to support beginners and watching them improve feels great but finding and supporting underrated artists is important too
when you decide to share art on social media, you have to do so with the understanding that your account is not likely to blow up and be "big". it has taken those larger accounts a lot of time and a lot of dedication to get where they are, it doesn't just happen overnight. for every medium to big account you have 50 small ones who go under the radar, found by chance. it sucks, it really does, but that's just what happens in the state of the community right now. you have to learn to be content just sharing to share. if you constantly post in hopes of being that big artist you admire, you're always going to feel unfulfilled and angry when it doesn't happen. learning to be content with your account where it is at any time is a HUGE part of being on social media that a lot of people ignore because they see shiny accounts "making it" and focus too much on the numbers. if you take off, that's absolutely amazing and i hope your account grows.
please, though, don't do what candie did. do i think she should be chased off the web? no. does she need a timeout to reflect on her actions? absolutely. i hope she can come back and be an artist with integrity and be content sharing with the people who want to see her work, and maybe it'll grow from there. these bait accounts ain't it, and it's no surprised as many people were as mad as they were. this wasn't the right way to go about this at all. i hope this served as a lesson for candie. and she should call it what it is, which was a ruse to garner attention to be "big", not a social experiment. i hope she realizes how it wasn't worth garnering the attention she got in this manner. it's going to follow her for a very long time, so she's got work to do if she decides to come back.
nahhhhhhhhhh it took me 4 years of constant practice and consistency to get where i am seeing people faking their progress is crazy

Exactly, like isn't attention kind of the point of sharing your art... anywhere? You'd kind of _have_ to, like even in gallerias and shit
drawing for attention is a slippery slope.
it could put you in a mental state that isn't healthy. if you gain traction, it's not going to last forever. when you eventually lose traction or never gain any, it could deter you.
many years ago i did exactly this.
i posted my art back when DA was ehh... kinda okay. before i started posting some of my art, i was just doing it because i wanted to, to see how far i could go. and when i started posting art and started having expectations to gain interaction and seeing as i had exactly none for a long time (maybe 2-3 years?), i threw the towel in for quite some time.
it was effecting me as an artist because it made me think that i just wasn't good enough and should just stop wasting my time. it stunted my progress to becoming better for years.
i have only come back to it recently because i had managed to remind myself of why i did it in the first place. and even then it's not as fun or doesn't feel as accomplishing as it was back then, but it is getting better.
i'm not here to condemn the idea entirely, but to give a warning. the side effects of feeling how i did are why this video exists.

It’s sad how real beginners now are being accused of being like Candie. “It’s so obvious” blah blah blah type of comments like that
I haven’t heard of this yet, what the freak tiktok 😔
😭😭😭😭😭
She was upset with having just 52 followers to the point to making this fake story while I'm totally okay having 1 for years. Bruh. Kinda inspiring
I can't understand why they choose to act and get attention instead of just posting pictures and getting the attention they deserve..
they said they were posting on their old account but it stopped getting attention and wasn't growing so they had to comeup with a bright idea
@@MohammedAgbadi What a ''bright'' idea 😮💨
i dont support their actions whatsoever but their normal art wouldnt have a big chance at getting attention
i saw so many artists stop at 3 k max and thats it
@@what8948 that's sad too :'( i wish every artist got the attention they deserved
I belive its tiktoks fault, posting can either give ypu like 2mil views or 1k just because the algorithm said so, its basicly a lottery just for views
yeah, the fake beginner and fake age thing has been a thing for a long time.
"Hey guys, look at this unbelievable high-level artwork. I'm 12 BTW"
and boom, let the [ like/share/comment/engagement ] farming began
I've been trying to grow my art following on social media for MONTHS and barely grew (5-30 followers each) meanwhile these fake beginner artists blow up seemingly so easily is so disheartening
Even if they were faking, some ppl was still shitting on the fake beginner art bro 😭 (sorry if my wording is bad)
That lowkey sounds really fun to do tho its just art i dont rlly think its a big deal tbh
IN NO DISRESPECT TO BEGINNERS THO! IT JUST SEEMS LIKE A FUNNY TROLL TO DO
The fact that the "new art" is literally just.
Ngl, I watch Mohammed's videos 50% for the content and 50% just to see his handsome face

2:22 NAH WHY DOES THAT LOOK LIKE MY 2022 ART STYLE WITH THE POINTY AHH CHIN
The way the whole intro was bsd💀

As a 3d artist i feel this
There are an unbelievable amount of people that go "my first model in blender teehee" and then proceeds to show a fully modeled human body with perfect topology
It really sucks
I’m interested in this artist and would love to see him! What’s the name?
It can also be how fast you learn things
@@Ichigitchyyayadada it can be crazy how much you can learn in just a few weeks. i had art block so i didnt draw for the entire season of spring and only watched art videos or studied pictures of things/people without actually drawing. and when i started drawing again last month my skills suddenly jumped many levels. i guess im a visual learner since when i went back to drawing it felt like my hand go just move on its own when all ive been doing the past few months before was watching peoples speedpaints and art processes. a change in the way you work really helps.
i was worried about the replies but yeah its good so far. also adults can do adult things kids.
What's their name? I would like to check their art.
I was not ready for bsd characters to be at the start😭
Fr, im also pissed they brought pjsk and vocaliod into this 😭😭
As bad as it is for an artist to not get recognized, their actions did harm and that out weighs their intention. I hope they are okay and learned, but they shouldnt have done that :/
they actions didn't harm at all. only if you live in a glass bubble. then you are not fit to be in the art section
@@_V.01d_ It doesn't just harm the ones who looked up to the artist but the artist themselves too.
They apologized already btw!! And i think they left the account too
“Social experiment” is such a lazy and obvious cop out for clout chasing
Social experiment people are so odd, like boom what you thought would happen happened.
Why can’t the TikTok art community have a normal event for once- 💀
THE EMU ON THE THUMBNAIL JUMPSCARED ME 😭😭
The same issue like this has been an on-going thing in the miniature painting community for decades now.
Only just this year have I been getting out of the phase of drawing literal stickmen like what I've been doing for more than half of my life, and if you look at my drawing from March/May of this year you can tell theres been an improvement
But being able to alter your entire art style in the span of 14 days? Hell no. My slow ass couldn't even produce more than one drawing in that time frame and they completely changed their art in such a short time frame
Only silver lining is that at least they apologized and what seems like their actual art style seems to very good!
Your voice is very relaxing and calm to listen to, and I love how you approach each situation objectively and calmly without letting a lot of emotion get in the way
Artists are now just fame-hungry by faking that they are beginners just like people faking illness cause they are attention seekers. This is not good…
It's similar to the smurfs in the gaming community. They say they are terrible at the game, infiltrate the beginner ranks and find pleasure in destroying all of them, all the while, they are NOT bad and are actually an alternate account from the highest ranks! They wanted to have some easy fun and praise by farming the newbies. All it does is discourage people form wanting to play if even the newbie ranks are flooded with s rank ops.😓
why cant ppl just stop using Tiktok. like is it really that hard? christ...
huh
It is. I mean, how hard would it be to quit UA-cam? That’s your answer.
How hard would it be to stop using all of your social media?
@@schemesthefox1255 probably hard since i only use youtube, but since you came with That comment you probably use both.
@@Sssssshinshi easy. i deleted everything except for youtube
@@n8pls543oh okay...

The lighting and environment of your background is immaculate 😌 very calming

okay but i personnally never expected better.
I’m so sorry to hear that. I bet your art is really good
As much as I feel for them, I feel like they also need to understand and accept that they will not get as much followers as they hope as an intermediate artist.
I cant see the end of the horizon.. EMU OTORI AND AKITO SHIONOME??
Tbh they're mostly the reason I click on the vid
I've been drawing in some way shape or form for 15 years and posting art online for roughly 7. Only recently have I reached 1000 followers on tumblr, which for me was a crazy feat. I get the feeling of being ignored when you spend countless time on a project, but taking away spotlight from actual beginner artists by claiming yourself as a beginner, even as a social experiment, just isn't the way to go.
ngl i never believed them from the beginning, it was just crazy how much they improved.
Even artists are smurfing.
