If you do end up going for 1 go for an 850 not the V70. Don't be fooled into thinking they are the same 850 built when owned by volvo v70 was peugot or ford owned and fell to peices., I had an 850 (96) which was bullet proof like drove 100 miles no oil in it and was totally fine. Biggest problem in 10 years was cutting out when stopping at lights (needed new cat) and a seized brake caliper once. Yeah I had to change brakes and pads and other just stuff that wears out. V70 well it fell to pieces, all the electrics started have problems and many other thing I never had to touch on the 850 and spent about 4000 in the 4 years I owned it, both cars were 2nd hand with around 130k when I bought them.
@@VolantFool Yes, its the same platform, but i think they are two different cars. Volvo kind a tried to make them better, but in my opinion they failed a bit in some of the models, but it is Fords fault, they where saving money and it was shown. Jeah, its kind a comfortable, but seats are not that soft as in 850, all the window regulation buttons started to malfunction or brake down, had to replace them all on all doors, same goes for some of instrument panel buttons, their soft touch material peals off and then it looks disgusting, then door leather starts to segregate....on all of the doors, door rubber seal starts to peel off, had to glue them back, then rear window wiper brakes down - had to trace a broken wire behind rear seats. Some lights wont go away in instrument cluster - check engine comes up, goes away, comes up....stays for two days, goes away, ABS starts to malfunction in some periods, and the hardest is that i cant find a problem.....looks like there is a big problem in wiring, but it takes a long time to find it where, so i am not even trying to repair it anymore, but if you can find a V70R P80 - grab it and never let go :D Its just my opinion, if you have both of them for a longer period you will feel the difference.
