Thank you so much Misha for the lap! I did intend for the lap to be more of a ''What should i do next on the car'' and as it never overheated when i drove it on track, i did not think it would do it with Misha driving, boy was i wrong. Even with upgraded intercooler and radiator they get hot. I have my AC condensor still upfront and that obviously blocks air flow/cooling. Next is an oil cooler. In the end we are racing Volvo luxury cruisers here. 😅😋
Hey man, great car. I own C30 T5. I think we have the same seats, which are horrible for any kind of faster driving - have you done anything to yours? can't see on video if these are standard leather seats or is it re-stiched or something?
Hi there, with all due respect, may I ask how you came to ask misha to drive your car after watching the videos but still were suprised, that he drives fast?
This was worse than the ride in the Lambo where Mishas girl was so scared and loved how he calls these shit cars good but really cars bad 😂 Misha you are pretty good driver but.......😅

This is SO much fun to watch. Misha is driving like it’s just another car going fast and screeching wheels. The passenger is like “I’m gonna DIE!” 😂 Misha makes it look easy and it’s interesting how people that watch racing cars at speed have no idea how close to the edge the car actually is. 👍🏻
Hello a fellow swede here, nice lap! Hope for some better cooling and lsd + stickier tires next time😎 A funny story (legend I suppose you would call it) Volvo did launch the 850 t5 before the s40 t4. When it was time for the s40 t4’s reveal the test car that Volvo had was actually quicker to 0-100 km/h. And that Volvo could not release onto the market! So what did they do? They’ve shorted the gear ratio of second gear so you’ve had to change to third gear to achieve 100 km/h instead of second. Which made the car 0.2 seconds slower than the 850 t5.
gotta love the volvo underdogs, T4 isn't slow in first place. btw, here one can see what pro advice means, pointing on where to invest to drive better and safer instead of running for horsepower. my favourite video so far on this channel.
Just wanted to tell you that as a nordic rally driver, I really admire your pedal work. Too many people don't know their way around a manual car, especially with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) car.
I used to own a '99 S40 2.0 and that thing really did handle well, aside from bumps. Used to take it up around the mountains and, because it was so small and narrow, it could hang with anything in the corners.
One of the nicest video’s in my opinion. Love the casual talk and having a great time on the ring! This is why I love the community! Great video, great experience!
I think this is one of my most favorite laps misha has ever done, its sad that the car was overheating because i see lots of potential with this v40. But the way he was just pushing that v40 to its limits and whipping those corners to it max G's makes me so satisfied. And the fact that it looked a lot faster when he was going 200kmh in a volvo v40 than in a porsche 911 gt3 rs 250kmh. Just wow, i love this MIsha. Keep it up!
I love the overheating videos! It's good to see what different cars can take, also it makes me consider cooling more with my own cars. These videos always make me think. The faster videos make me really "zone in"
One very famous American builder & tuner (Chip Foose) was explaining to guys around him also building & swapping their own car project and he said 'no matter what your project is...but if you want performance & reliability ,your main focus has to be cooling & controlling heat in that bay..(especially turbo motors)....

In a track setting, 140-148c is pretty normal. This would be in the range where conventional oils will breakdown but synthetics are good for 230c +. it's the aeration and oil control that will get you, the oil temps were fine.
I have one of these as a spare track car 😂Got to be careful with ride height/tyre size as in Volvos infinite wisdom they ran the whole wiring loom through the right wheel arch with 0 protection on it. Managed to rub through the whole lot, shorted a load of stuff including the starter/modules/abs unit so has been a big rebuild to even get it running again but still have a lot of problems. Might enter it into some entry level wheel to wheel series just for some banter
I daily drove an MY00 V40T auto and the handling and balance was very nice, those Whiteblock engines are a modular design and came in 4, 5 and 6 cyl versions as the owner mentioned they added or removed a cylinder depending on the need, Dutch built (Nedcar) based on the Mitsi Carisma with many Mitsi parts which I also used when I freshened up the chassis and even the low blow turbo was a fun thing especially on the hills around here when youd put her to work.
People forget that Volvo had a racing heritage going back to the '50s - there are still classic racing series where people race the Amazons, the 240, 340 (not the Renault engined ones, the Volvo red block ones, same block as the 740 had, to which the big turbos were fitted which gives some options as those were bullet proof) and so on - It was only when bikers and other called them tanks that people assumed that they were heavy and unwieldy - in the hands of good drivers they can be very lively, but, they are predictable, which is good in accidents or on the limit.
