Hi Monie! Thank you so much for participating and supporting my new channel. I greatly appreciate you sharing our new UA-cam venture with your viewers. How cool that you got to see Nancy Sinatra at a signing! Your Dad has a sweet ride! He seems like a really great Dad. REM George Michael and Otis Redding make him pretty hip when it comes to music too. I’m sure you are proud of your Dad and Gus for being such great role models and fathers. Take care.
    Steve

My dad didn't pass any records down to me because we didn't share taste in music for the longest time, as I found Jazz and Classical - the two genres HE LOVED and primarily listened to - boring until I came around to them in my mid 20s when Anthony Fantano @ The Needle Drop, the internet's busiest music nerd, turned me on to LA saxophonist Kamasi Washington.
I fell in love with his triple album "The Epic" IMMEDIATELY when I first heard it in 2015 and I proceeded to find my Scene over the following 9 years, that being the UK, an incredible class of the following artists:
Shabaka Hutchings & The Ancestors, Theon Cross, Sons Of Kemet, The Comet Is Coming, Melt Yourself Down, Hampshire & Foat, Yazz Ahmed, Nubya Garcia, Soweto Kinch, Ezra Collective, Alfa Mist, Kamaal Williams, Yussef Kamaal (a one-off collaboration of Yussef Dayes and Kamaal Williams), Blue Lab Beats, Ashley Henry and Poppy Ajudha.
As for Classical, I found SOUNDTRACKS the most appealing avenue because they stimulate in my mind the remembrance of my favourite moments and experiences in TV Shows, Movies and Video Games.
For ex: THE TEARS FLOWED when I listened to the second disc in my copy of "Assassin's Creed: Leap Into History" (featuring the music from 9 games in the series pressed on 5 LPs, Ubisoft -- the studio behind this game series -- issued this Box Set to celebrate 15 years of Assassin's Creed) after it arrived in the mail the other day.
I was emotional because the second disc is the music/Soundtrack of Assassin's Creed II, MY FAVOURITE GAME OF ALL TIME for the following reason:
My parents took me out of my 2nd Semester of Grade 12 in 2007 (which you Americans know as Senior Year) for the sake of spending 3 months in Europe, a trip which included seeing Florence, Venice, Ravenna, Siena, Naples and the Amalfi Coast over 3 weeks in Italy. However, my grades in my 1st and 2nd Years in University (I pursued a Bachelor of Design in Illustration at OCAD U, Ontario College Of Art & Design University) were good enough that I qualified for participation in the school's Exchange Program, which allowed me to spend my 3rd Year (from September 2009 to May 2010) abroad and I chose attending SRISA -- the Santa Reparata International School of Art -- in Florence BECAUSE THE CITY WAS ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS of my time in Europe with my family 3 years earlier.
So, the breaks I had in the School Year afforded my friends and I opportunities to see other cities and places, such as San Gimignano, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Montiriggioni, Ferrara, Verona and Bologna.... BUT I STAYED in the country for around 2 1/2 more months in light of finishing my Exams for the sake of continuing to see places my family and I didn't get around to when we were there. So, in particular.... I returned to Venice, went to Rome, Milan, Genoa, Naples and Palermo (on Sicily).
How does this relate to Assassin's Creed 2? BECAUSE IT'S SET DURING THE ITALIAN RENAISSANCE AND SEEING THE RENAISSANCE VERSIONS OF FLORENCE, VENICE, ROME, SAN GIMIGNANO AND MONTIRIGGIONI RECREATED IN A GAME ENGINE BLEW. MY. FLIPPING. MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND.
The game also has a rather tragic story AND THERE'S NO BETTER SETTING FOR A TRAGIC STORY THAN ITALY IMHO.

      @MonieMuse  3 місяці тому

what an amazing adventure, and with the soundtrack being assassins creed too, I wish I spent more time in Europe , hope to one day visit Italy too. video game soundtracks is the new classical genre :)

Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole Unforgettable, I'm not at home so I cannot show any vinyl. My daughter and I perform together as well, we are still indie. Johnny and Shuggie Otis are another familial treasure. Also, sadly, Bradley Noel's Son has replaced him in Sublime...That's all I have for now.

2 videos in a row and you have kids plus chores and other videos you must be going crazy? that's how I feel when I don't get things done!!!!
I don't want rare records I want 5 star albums like Kiss - Love gun Ac/dc - Dirty deeds ect.
I can tell you most times like 93% or more the father won't be with the daughter/son look at Natlie Cole she had to incorporate with her father.
family members aren't happening parents son situation
The Frank Sinatra is a different album from Nancy how is that a Duet ?
so your father is like mine first vinyl then 8 tracks , then cassettes then he lost interest in the cd time period?
nice Otis Reading , My Dad doesn't know who R.E.M is isn't R.E.M more of your time period?
did your father like any of these artist?
    Little Richard?
    Chuck Berry?
    Jerry Lee Lewis
    Rolling Stones?
    Moody Blues
    Simon and Garfunkel
    Any Williams
    Ricky Nelson
    Elvis?
that Otis Reading album did he ever have that on 8 track?
any of the artist I mentioned above did he have any of their albums on 8 track?
Did your father like sports if so back then what was his favorite teams?
    1. Football?
    2. Basketball?
    3. Hockey?
    4. Baseball?
as of late who are his favorite teams
    1. Football?
    2. Basketball
    3. Hockey
    4. Baseball?

lucky my husband and the kids love video games and have been spending more time playing, which allows me to film lol
My dad likes REM too. He wasn't really into sport but LOVES BOXING, he watches old matches on UA-cam. He likes Simon and Garfunkel, he's the one who introduced me to them, he would also play the Bryds "Turn Turn Turn" a lot. I dont own the Frank Sentra Nancy Duet, but a subscriber said the song "Something stupid" is on a 45'.
