    Very nice system and room. You mentioned one of the most important points and that is not to allow power wires to touch interconnects, which keeps the noise floor down.

    The McIntosh is understandably the piece that gets the most attention. It is a beauty. I've had a similar problem with my Sota Comet turntable which I enjoyed for 30 years. When I recently upgraded to a pre- owned Sota Sapphire that problem disappeared and the sound improved across the board! I'm completely sold on inner suspension turntables! They totally eliminate feedback and resonances.On another note this comes from a 64 year old Black man O.G music lover and audiophile. I've seen some of the weird disdainful comments you've received. To all music lovers and hi-fi enthusiasts the world over, let's just enjoy the music and our systems. I like to decompress and enjoy the music after work. This hobby is truly diverse and inclusive. I enjoy viewing other people"s systems on UA-cam regardless of price. Let's leave the ignorances of the world behind!

      Thank you for your kind words and for your support. I agree with you that this hobby is one that pulls together all genders, ethnicities, races, and walks of life. I love seeing what other people are listening to and with, regardless of their investment or where they are in their vinyl collecting journey. We’re all united under the passion of music, and why that cannot transcend across the internet is beyond me. The vinyl community is the one place I can rely on to escape the negativity within the world. It’s simply a shame that a few try to bring down others within the community, luckily there are folks like yourself that keep the positive energy alive.
      I hope you enjoy the heck out of that SOTA Sapphire. If you don’t mine me asking, with over 30 years of collecting, what’s some of your most cherished/meaningful possessions?

      @@VinylLatte Greetings my fellow music loving audiophile.👍I have a few autographed lp's and cd's by EPMD, Jazz musicians Walter Beasley and the late legendary Herbie Mann. I also have a few of the first limited edition gold cd's, color and photo vinyl lp's. My present system: Maggie 1.6's, biamped with a Conrad Johnson mv55 for midrange and treble with a Adcom 555 mk2 for bass, 2 Vandersteen 2w subwoofers, Rogue Audio Perseus Magnum preamplifier, Rotel cd14 mk2 cd player, NAD 4255 tuner, a Tascam cd-rw900sl pro cd player/recorder, Sota Sapphire turntable with Grado Opus3, and Sumiko cartridges, Furman and Audioquest power conditioners. I enjoy Jazz, Classical, Rock, R&B, Reggae, classic Hip-hop and Blues. I'm a comics fan (Marvel only!) and have a sizable collection. Just for laughs, I'm single as wives and girlfriends (Including my present one) interfere with the pursuit of sonic accuracy!🤣 They would have me listening to cheap ass Bluetooth speakers and sound bars if it were up to them!🤣 You my friend have a real treasure, a wife who's obviosly understanding of us and our sometimes crazy hobby. I use my classic Hafler 120a on the Maggie's midrange and treble input and give the Conrad Johnson a break from May to November( less heat!).The Hafler has the tube sound in spades( I love the sound of Mosfets) It was my first high end piece. I purchased it in February of '87 and it still sounds beautiful!

      Hey there, fellow audiophile! 😉
      Wow, your collection sounds incredible! Those autographed LPs and CDs by EPMD, Walter Beasley, and Herbie Mann must be real treasures. And your system setup is absolutely impressive-I'd live to hear that turntable and cartridge combination, I bet it sounds amazing. 🎶 Your taste in music is right up my alley too; it's great to see such a diverse range of genres in your collection.
      I got a good laugh from your commend about significant others and the pursuit of sonic accuracy-it's so true! I'm fortunate to have a supportive wife who understands the passion, though I do have to take her shopping from time to time to keep the peace. 🤣
      Thanks for sharing, and keep enjoying the music. Talk to you later!

    Thanks for the tour. One question: You say you have 50,000 CDs ripped for play through the Eversolo DMP-A6? That's got to be many TBs worth of hard drive/SSD space if you use "lossless" compression like FLAC or ALAC. (I do the same and play burned CDs through Roon using a MacMini and a Cambridge Audio DAC into various '70s vintage amps for a warm analog sound I like.) If you use external drives for storage, do they simply plug into the Eversolo via USB? If so, where do you keep them?

    • @VinylLatte
      @VinylLatte  7 днів тому +1

      You're welcome!
      Please allow me to start with an apology. I ment to say that I have 50,000 tracks, as seen on the display. I've ripped just under 5,700 CDs. All those files are stored on a M.2 NVME SSD drive. The 6A Master Edition can support up to a 4TB drive. It can also connect to a network server. I have a Synology server that I use that has a copy of my music, and I used to stream from it before I added the SSD. Today, I have the storage on the DMP connected to a Roon Nucleus One server, which can also take an additional drive.
      In short, you can store up to 4TB locally using an NVME drive, and/or connect to a network server for even more storage.
      I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

    Great room tour.
    Why did you buy the zazen series of isolation platforms? Your turntable only weighs about 10 lb and the zazan one does between 15 and 25 lb. You would have been much better off to just buy their individual footers and put them underneath your turntable then buying the platform that you bought, that supports 25 to 40 lb. You need to be in that weight range for it to work optimally. You should sell that zazan and go buy ISO acoustics Orea footers. pay attention to what ones you buy because the ones you buy depend on what weight you're going to put on them.

      The ZaZen was purchased for a different component, and I repurposed it under the turntable to address a footfall issue I was having. It resolved the problem, thus I kept it in place. Today, I have the turntable resting on a set of Stack Audio AUVA EQs and couldn't be happier. I plan to provide a review of them in the near future.

      Did you say Preamp in the video unless I didn't hear it right? I was wondering because I use the built-in phono section even though it doesn't go through the tubes, like many of their products. The sound is fantastic. Now, if I used an MC TT, I would use the balanced inputs on the amp and get a tube preamp for it. Discogs is dreaming on some things. Just my opinion. But if you want something, they come through. We have 3 excellent record stores around here. The Humminguru is nice as well. I use it on everything, especially new vinyl.

      I looked at it first but took the difference and bought their XR50 speakers. They are like Me & Mrs. Jones. They have a thing going on. Around 70%, this setup rocks the joint, and I have to be careful about the neighbors. You can not go wrong either way, and the 252 is worth almost what you paid for it. The MA252 is super simple to use. You can control the volume or source via the nob control or remote. The ES is also easy to use. You can control the unit through the touchscreen or app. There is a gap in feature parity, whereas there are more options on the touchscreen than the app. You can control the volume on the unit itself or have the MA252 be the master volume control (this is what I do). Once you have your sources configured, it should be fairly easy to control. 👍

    Hi, I am at the beginning stages of planning to build a stereo system and the furniture to hold the equipment. In particular, for the shelving for both components and records. Did you get all shelving for your stereo components and records from Ikea? Also, could you put all components, the amps and the other big components into a cubby hole or would I have to put them on top the unit because they would not fit? And how do you connect the seperate cube units together? Did you just slide them next to each other? Seriously, whatever you did, when I saw this video, I knew this is what I need to do with my room and is how I want my room to look like. I would appreciate any advice given. I am subscribed and appreciate your new channel. Thanks

    • @VinylLatte
      @VinylLatte  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi Robert! The shelving indeed come from Ikea. I am using their Kallax product line. The first shelf in the video is their 2x2 (four cubes) model. The large back wall is made up with two of their 5x5 offerings, providing me with fifty cubes of storage. I simply placed each shelf next to each other which fit perfectly against the wall in my 12x12 room. The final shelf is their 2x4 option, proving me with eight additional cubes. I house my equipment on top of the 2x4 and used wire management (Amazon) on the back of the unit to keep power and audio cable separate from each other, and when necessary, crossing at a "t". The 2x2 and 2x4 both have the optional Kallax stand. It allows the shelves to lift off the floor and the legs can manage the weight of the records and the equipment.
      As for the hardware placement, I have been conscious on what hardware I purchase as it needs to fit my space. This has presented some challenges as I passed up on certain hardware solely because it wouldn't fit in the space I have allocated. I am contemplating swapping the 2x2 and 2x4, putting the 2x4 vertical, and purchasing an audio rack to seat next to the 2x2 cube. The audio rack would allow me to purchase virtually any gear I wanted without being worried about dimensions or weight. Ikea used to sell a shelf that looked like the Kallax 2x4 but had an additional horizontal shelf that spanned across the top with a support structure in the middle. This would allow you to put hardware under the top shelf. Perhaps I would go that route if I did it over again, however, I'm happy with the setup as-is. I will likely move to an McIntosh 352 amp and the Manley Steelhead pre-amplifer. Those two using should fit in the space I have now, the only concern would be managing the Manley's massive power supply (first-world problems, I know).
      I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can answer any more questions, and thanks for stopping by!

    I am a little shocked that you would spend so much money on the analogue experience only to send the audio signal through the SweetVinyl SugarCube SC-1 Mini, which is a digital filter. Not saying that it doesn't sound good, I never tried one. It just would personally bother me knowing my analogue signal is going through an A/D converter. But if that doesn't bother you that's all that matters. Awesome audio room. Thanks for the tour.

    • @VinylLatte
      @VinylLatte  2 місяці тому

      Fair callout! When bypass is enabled, it’s a hard bypass-meaning, the audio does not get processed by the SugarCube. With that said, I struggle to hear any difference when it is enabled. I spend countless hours playing around, doing A/B comparisons and realized after that I wasted a ton of time. If there’s enough interest, I’ll do a video on this in the future. For now, bypass FTW. 😉

      Depending on your take on HiFi, this could easily be on the lower end of the spectrum. The speakers imagine fine where they are placed and the amp delivers 160 watts in 4 ohms, which works well in the 12x12 room. The Parasound JC3+ preamp is their reference preamp, fair from junk, but likely the weakest link. With that said, the preamp and the amp are both units I’m seeking to upgrade within the next year, steering towards a Manley Steelhead preamp and shortlist of amplifiers.
