I would happily live in Hardings room it looks so beautiful, plus a lil bath and plants to help relax is just chefs kiss. Also love Neves and Emmrichs rooms, plenty to keep occupied.
It's interesting that the rooms seem to showcase everybody's hobbies/expertise. Between all of them, it looks like they have everything covered for a base of operations: Potion Station Kitchen/Pantry Smithing/Training Room Gardening/Lookout Artifact Collection/Tinkering Library Bestiary/Monster Displays
I love that idea. It would highlight the familial connectedness of the team that we've heard so much about from the devs. This kind of subconscious interdependency manifested into their shared space through the Fade.
Lucanis’s relationship with his grandmother bears an eerie relationship to Morrigan’s with Flemeth. In particular, he now thinks his grandmother was right to do the things that made him hate her, because it helped him to survive. Compare that to Moriggan’s account of how Flemeth destroyed her golden mirror and how she cried at the time but now thinks it was a necessary lesson and mothers who don’t act as Flemeth did are “lesser”. And then when you give her a mirror very like the one she lost, she is taken aback and close to tears as she says that you MUST want something from her in return, because she can’t process the idea that someone would just be nice to her. I fully expect something similar to happen with Lucanis.
You do such a good job analyzing the characters and it is just making me more excited to meet them in the game. Thank you for clearing up the owners of the rooms from the screenshots (I was only able to figure out the easy ones). Harding's room looks so cool; it looks like a nice refreshing escape from everything, and I love how Neve's room looks kind of like a big city loft kind of place (at least those are the vibes I get). Great video!
Thank you for the measured, balanced coverage of this game. I respect that. I am looking forward to this game. This franchise means a lot to me-greetings from Rwanda.
Everything we know of Emmrich (snippets of the VA performance, his short cameo in Tevinter Nights and the way the devs have talked about him) points to him being rather kind and gentle, contrary to what his occupation might suggest. I suspect they’re going to lean into the modern notion of “Death Positivity” with him (death as a part of life that should be met with compassion and without apprehension). He seems to be eccentric but welcoming. His colour palette of vibrant jewel tones would fit into that and his armor is default reminiscent of natural shapes of certain animals or plants.
I love the color theory, to foretell their character personalities. We need another video just covering the full color theory of all the character companions.❤❤❤
Incredible in depth analysis on the art of the characters, and so well explained. I love your videos. I don´t usually subscribe but you totally deserve it. Congrats.
I absolutely loved your analysis on “warm” characters vs. “cold” ones. To me that made a lot of sense! I think Neve’s hobby would be difficult to lock down, I remember her being incredibly busy in The Streets of Minrathous. You were searching for a particular word regarding Davrin as well. I believe you’re looking for the word woodcarving. 😁 More character analysis? Yes please! (I’ll vote for Harding or Davrin next! 🤘)
Tip for lightening images up without getting that white haze in Photoshop; Use the contrast/brightness sliders under the Image - Adjustment dropdown menu (at least that is where it is on mine) ;) I loved the analysis! Nice and simple, straight to the point without too much speculation. Poor Lucanis hiding in a pantry/basement full of food to prevent backstabbing and starvation.. I just remembered a bunch of crows got murdered in one of the short stories, severely reducing their ranks. Plus something happened to him that supposedly killed him and then he was brought back? Or maybe he was experimented upon.. It seems he has a spirit/demon tied to him now at least. Also, in your opinion; what do you think the color schemes mean for personality traits? - Neve white, black and turquiose - Harding neutral browns with a hint of red - Davrin in neutrals with a red border on his shirt, not standard issue Warden attire (that is usually blue) - Lucanis in blacks and royal purple for his cloak - Emmrich in purples and greens - Taash in green, red and gold tones My favourite rooms were Davrin's, Bellara's and most of all Neve's. I feel like a lore detective in this game, read a bunch of detective thrillers in real life and would love a room filled with books for myself too!
Thanks for the tip! This haze was a bit annoying haha. Yeah... Lucanis is a man with a surprise inside 😜 I think that the colours were used to specify their uniqueness. Neve is not afraid to be visible and attract attention. Harding is warm and kind. Davrin is loyal but passionate/reckless. Lucanis knows his worth. Emmrich is creative and thinks with extremes (explosive nature, maybe?). Taash is proud 🤟🏼🔥
On one of my discord servers someone did manage to locate everyone's (assumed) beds, figuring Emmrich sleeps somewhere upstairs. The only exception was workaholic-Neve who I suppose just K.O. faceplants her desk at some point. Obviously here's hoping we get to wake her up one morning with research papers stuck to her face. :)
Wood whitler or wood carver. Just thought I would let you know what they are called. Otherwise, that was awesome and perfectly matched what I would assume, as well. I use an artistic viewpoint aslo, as a digital artist, myself 😊. Well done, that was awesome.
Fun video! I enjoyed the room analysis and tbh if you want further concept art analysis would be fun! Its funny when comparing the companions how much green (or variants of) are scattered throughout all the outfits!
For the longest time, I didn’t know the Griffon’s name. So when you called him “Assan” I thought you were saying “Our Son” as a joke about Davrin being father material.
My favor belongs to Belara, so many curious trinkets, I can see a cut scene with her enthusiastically explaining what this or that toy does. If that flag is orlesian, it would make perfect sense for her to have memento from that land. She is dalish, and Dales located in Orlay, she probably visited motherland at some point to research old ruins or for sentimental reasons.
I mean could be dalish thing, back in Origins the dalish were shaping wood. I hope we could ask him about that, this could be one of few remaining things to him that connects him with his old dalish clan life. I wonder if one of gifts for him would be some rare wood to work on.
You mean one of concept arts ? I think it's most likely case that they changed her to be from Tevinter. Tevinter people do not look like pale blonde people like in concept art.
Did Dragon Age Veilguard just pull a Da Vinci Code on us? I guess I'd have to make a professor Lancaster type. This would suggest the team now gone left artist touches and signatures likely aware this would be their last game.
I'd LOVE to hear an art analysis of Lucanis. Right now he's my most likely romance choice.
No problem, I'll make it as soon as possible ❤️

My first Rook will have a love triangle with Lucanis and Emmrich.

My pleasure! Can't wait for it myself and I hope you'll enjoy the game. Warm hugs from the UK 🥰
Thank you . I hope you will enjoy the game too.

Somehow I missed this, time to listen to the great Lady of Lore!
Enjoy, my friend!
Your analysis is crazy! So well thought!
Thanks 🥰❤️

I am ALWAYS impressed when I watch your videos. They are brilliant!! Thank you.

@@ImpGoose Thank youuu!

This is all good, and this makes me want to romance Neve even more.

great video goose!
Honk! ☺️

Haha, well...he is a BABY griffon, after all. I love your interpretation and will call Assan "our son" from time to time 😜
Great analysis of the art. I learned a few things.

Oh, that's a great idea! Bellara is an interesting character 🔥
really good analysis. i hope you can talk about the progression video as well, it was much better showcase than the ign video.
Thanks! I will cover it next week. Unfortunately, I don't have time these couple of days 😅
@@ImpGoose don't worry. Take your time rest, stay safe.
really interesting :D
Glad you think so!
It would be interesting if Davrin, our Warden companion, is into woodworking, just like Blackwall, our Warden companion in the last game.
I mean could be dalish thing, back in Origins the dalish were shaping wood. I hope we could ask him about that, this could be one of few remaining things to him that connects him with his old dalish clan life. I wonder if one of gifts for him would be some rare wood to work on.
I think Tash is a blacksmith.
I wonder if neve is disguising herself for some reason or if they did just change the character visually.
You mean one of concept arts ? I think it's most likely case that they changed her to be from Tevinter. Tevinter people do not look like pale blonde people like in concept art.

Hopefully someone will make a mod to tone down all the god awful purple everywhere...
