They say that a capella groups aren't marketable and that's why they aren't played on mainstream radio and media. And since Home Free covers so many genres, they can't be pigeonholed into a nest little box! However, Home Free has gotten some radio play in Australia and I think a few other countries! The contract they bought out was actually a 2nd contract....they wanted controll of their own art instead of a big studio telling them what to do, and taking up to 40% of the $$$ they were making. Do listen to their version of Country Roads...but do pause a number of times or it can get blocked.

It was a country song from Keith Urban. He actually asked Home Free to cover one of his songs, believe it or not! 😳❤ They turned it into a Motown doo-wop, complete with Temptations-esque dance moves!! 🔥🤯 It's epic!!
As they say, Home Free doesn't do covers, they do upgrades. I think it was Sony they signed up with after winning season 4 The Sing-Off at the end of 2013. I think one of the reasons they wanted to go independent was the freedom they would have with a big label. Tim Foust (bass), Austin Brown (high tenor), and Adam Chance (baritone who sang bass in his former group) all have solo channels where they also perform with others who play instruments. Like Chance has videos with the Hound + the Fox. Tim and Austin also have a group of friends and Tim's in-laws who do smaller "backyard bashes" and "birthday bashes" called Sweet + Low Music Co. They also do a small rehearsal/concert for about 3.5 hours every month or so for Patreons above a certain $$, with the first 30 or so minutes open for everyone else. (Rob has a movie review podcast with his friend Beugs called The Avid Indoorsmen, and Adam is Dungeon Master for his D&D circle.) So they all have interests outside of Home Free. They aren't stuck with that one thing. Austin has also been doing a lot videos for a few songs he wrote on his tiktok channel, along with his wonderful lady Amberly. I love seeing the mischief between them for Hers Ain't Mine. And Everlasting Ground is beautiful. (Can you tell that Austin's my favorite?)
Rob is considered the best singer by the entire group but each of these guys could have a solo career they stay together because they want to and also to respect their fans.
Shaun of Boyz 2 Men, was one of the judges when they competed on the Sing Off. He said that they were truly entertaining and had a sound that the world would love. I don't think he was aware of how prophetic his words would prove to be. These guys are known and loved around the world. There are Home Fries everywhere. They tour England, Europe, Japan, Australia as well as across the United States, performing to crowds everywhere they go and are loved. You have listened to just a very few of their songs and are so passionate about them but you have only touched the hem of the garment. There is so much more to explore. They have produced some original songs that rival anything you might hear being produced today for sure. I am a Home Fry and have subscribed to your channel. I am looking forward to watching you react to many more Home Free videos.

IMO, nothing will ever replace the original magic from hearing Boyz 11 Men sing this masterpiece, & I am so happy that Home Free, was able to keep the original integrity of the song, yet still inject their own magic, allowing us, to fall in love with it, all over again 💕 *I don't believe any other group, other than Home Free, could have pulled this off, & the fact that they are an a Capella group, puts them on a completely different level of skill & talent* 💕
I love Boyz II Men and have played End of the Road (1992) so many times. I never thought I'd ever like a cover of this song. But Home Free did it, while maintaining the respect for the original. How wonderfully sung by all! But for me it is mainly Rob who nailed it. What a great voice with so much soul in it. He touches me deep inside. Of course it is the combination of the other leads, fantastic harmony, bone-feeling bassline and the inhuman vocal percussion that makes it complete.

Austin adding his higher tones, Chance is holding down the bass in the back, Tim adding some deeper bass notes & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. All their songs are good whether it is serious, heart warming or funny.
If they ever come near you, get tickets to see the show. i have seen then 3 times and would go again if they come around. They play smaller venues, so its a bit more personal. they interact with the audience well. I paid below 40 dollars for the tickets. great shows

And there IS a revolution going on. I'm buying books directly from an author. I assume publishers are corporate thieves, so I don't blame her. ('Not some self-published loser; her seven-book set is great. I'm waiting for number 8.)

3 fun ones are the Butts Remix, All About the Bass & Hillbilly Bone are humorous and show their personalities. Then there’s the serious stuff like brothers in arms, Man of Constant Sorrow ( which is where most rectors start) & Mayday but save that til you know them better because there is a surprise you’ll miss until you familiar with their usual range

I still cannot believe these guys aren't known by nearly everybody, and why they aren't household names by now just blows my mind. I like a few other acapella groups, but these guys are on another level.

For more Gospel Rob you must react to Home Free at the Hosanna concert 2013 “Joy To the World “(this is all in the title of the video). It’s a jazzy, funky rendition of the Christmas carol, Rob digs deep and really cuts loose. There’s also a beatbox breakdown. Then there are some Chance leads- “I Can’t Outrun You “. It’s pure 5 part harmony, hauntingly beautiful, and Chance directed the video. For fun, “Champagne Taste (on a beer budget), Tim lead, and he wrote it. It’s hilarious.
I totally agree. No idea how these guys aren't selling out huge stadiums. I guess the music world just isn't ready to accept that an a capella group can sound this amazing. Sadly, without radio time, they'll likely never become huge. The Home Fries work hard to get their name out there, but we can only do so much. Oh, & the guys are all truly lovely people, too.
Yes, Home Fries is a great fan group name. The various tiers of support have fun names like Crinkle Cut Fry and similar names. You’re preaching to the choir when you point out how crazy the music industry is now! There’s a video on YT of an outdoor concert that was canceled due to rain & lightning. Instead of HF just walking away, they went to a shelter where fans were talking cover. They did How Great Thou Art without ANY electronics - just their voices. I’ve not heard that many people be so quiet for the entire song. HF is a top class act that knows & appreciates their fans!,
Great reaction!!! I'm glad that you spoke up about their position in the music world. You've got Godly men that give us their talents for our pleasure. They have not bowed down to the music world. They do fund raisers, backyard get-together, they do collaboration with different artist and take a step back to let the feature artist have the limelight to their their songs. They do not do obscene songs, they are respectful to women and show that they don't need a partially dressed females gyrating on videos to entice one to watch their videos. They are what you see in singing and home time. They use family and friends in their videos. The world doesn't want to have this in the music world. In the 'Butts Remix"the girls dancing are pretty well covered, especially in Cisco' song. Sorry for my tangent! I love these guys and respect them emensly. For songs that you might enjoy are Dire Straits cover to "Brothers in Arms", Crosby, Stills and Nash cover of " Helplessly Hoping " Butts Medley and Everybody Walking This Land.(that one Tim has something to say after the song ends. Agree with pretty much everything you said. I'm a British Home Fry, stumbled over their UA-cam channel during covid and they have been in my heart ever since. I've been told that US radio won't play acapella, which is crazy when it's as good as this. Gospel Rob in full voice is a magnificent thing to hear, but Rob is a vocal chameleon. If you want to hear him rap, listen to the Butts Medley. If you want to hear him sing opera, watch the video of him and Austin singing Nessun Dorma (on Austin's channel). And you really need to watch one of the live videos of Adam Rupps drum solos. You're rapidly becoming one of my favourite reactors so more please 😊

So much talent under one tent is something more rare than a meteorite landing in your backyard tomato patch. Saw them in concert two years ago and they are very entertaining and engaging even when they aren't singing. Most of them can beat box and several can cover the lows as well as the highs. It's like they are the utility jeep of music!
They did a world tour in 2020, and it was cut short due to covid and they had to scramble to get home. In all the countries where they performed they were well known and received. I think they choose to stay off the radio or something because they've performed at the Grand Ole Opry several times. I think their contract was for one year with Columbia, I believe, and they chose not to continue. They have built a fabulous career with over 254 million views some years ago .. Tim mentioned in one of his Story Time bits. When they were introduced, it was mentioned about the Sing Off and they had over 254... views on UA-cam! By now they're probably at half a billion.

Then there’s the serious stuff like brothers in arms, Man of Constant Sorrow ( which is where most rectors start) & Mayday but save that til you know them better because there is a surprise you’ll miss until you familiar with their usual range

For more Gospel Rob you must react to Home Free at the Hosanna concert 2013 “Joy To the World “(this is all in the title of the video). It’s a jazzy, funky rendition of the Christmas carol, Rob digs deep and really cuts loose. There’s also a beatbox breakdown. Then there are some Chance leads- “I Can’t Outrun You “. It’s pure 5 part harmony, hauntingly beautiful, and Chance directed the video. For fun, “Champagne Taste (on a beer budget), Tim lead, and he wrote it. It’s hilarious.
I totally agree. No idea how these guys aren't selling out huge stadiums. I guess the music world just isn't ready to accept that an a capella group can sound this amazing. Sadly, without radio time, they'll likely never become huge. The Home Fries work hard to get their name out there, but we can only do so much. Oh, & the guys are all truly lovely people, too.
Yes, Home Fries is a great fan group name. The various tiers of support have fun names like Crinkle Cut Fry and similar names. You’re preaching to the choir when you point out how crazy the music industry is now! There’s a video on YT of an outdoor concert that was canceled due to rain & lightning. Instead of HF just walking away, they went to a shelter where fans were talking cover. They did How Great Thou Art without ANY electronics - just their voices. I’ve not heard that many people be so quiet for the entire song. HF is a top class act that knows & appreciates their fans!,

Great reaction!!! I'm glad that you spoke up about their position in the music world. You've got Godly men that give us their talents for our pleasure. They have not bowed down to the music world. They do fund raisers, backyard get-together, they do collaboration with different artist and take a step back to let the feature artist have the limelight to their their songs. They do not do obscene songs, they are respectful to women and show that they don't need a partially dressed females gyrating on videos to entice one to watch their videos. They are what you see in singing and home time. They use family and friends in their videos. The world doesn't want to have this in the music world. In the 'Butts Remix"the girls dancing are pretty well covered, especially in Cisco' song. Sorry for my tangent! I love these guys and respect them emensly.
For songs that you might enjoy are Dire Straits cover to "Brothers in Arms", Crosby, Stills and Nash cover of " Helplessly Hoping " Butts Medley and Everybody Walking This Land.(that one Tim has something to say after the song ends.

Agree with pretty much everything you said. I'm a British Home Fry, stumbled over their UA-cam channel during covid and they have been in my heart ever since. I've been told that US radio won't play acapella, which is crazy when it's as good as this. Gospel Rob in full voice is a magnificent thing to hear, but Rob is a vocal chameleon. If you want to hear him rap, listen to the Butts Medley. If you want to hear him sing opera, watch the video of him and Austin singing Nessun Dorma (on Austin's channel). And you really need to watch one of the live videos of Adam Rupps drum solos. You're rapidly becoming one of my favourite reactors so more please 😊

I've got a playlist with 50+ drum solo videos. All unique, all brilliant.
So much talent under one tent is something more rare than a meteorite landing in your backyard tomato patch. Saw them in concert two years ago and they are very entertaining and engaging even when they aren't singing. Most of them can beat box and several can cover the lows as well as the highs. It's like they are the utility jeep of music!

This guy's are awesome and on this song one of the best ever they nailed it. This group is on fire.
They did a world tour in 2020, and it was cut short due to covid and they had to scramble to get home. In all the countries where they performed they were well known and received. I think they choose to stay off the radio or something because they've performed at the Grand Ole Opry several times. I think their contract was for one year with Columbia, I believe, and they chose not to continue. They have built a fabulous career with over 254 million views some years ago
