Rob Lundquist is the one who took lead Austin Brown is the second lead Tim Foust is bass 5+ octave range Adam Chance aka Chance is baritone /Bass Adam Rupp is beatboxer Shawn Stockman of Boyz ll Men was a Judge on The Sing Off season 4 2013 when Home Free won and he loved them. Home Free doesn’t have a lead singer. When choosing who will take lead they each sing the song ( except Adam the beatboxer)and who’s voice or voices suit the song is the best is who they go with.
Every single member of Home Free can sing lead. They are all wonderful. Even the incredible beat boxer has a beautiful tenor voice. They always choose the lead for the benefit of the song. No egos getting in the way with this group. I adore them.
I love your reactions! You really listen. I love Home Free most of all the acapella groups because they not only have amazing voices that are so tight and can sing many genres, but they have such a wonderful sense of humor and are not afraid to play. You can see yourself hanging out with them at a BBQ and having a blast because they have a blast. Check out Champagne on a Beer Budget, Hillbilly Bone and The Butts Remix (Medley) BTW-Tim Foust (the bass) has a 5 octave range!
Their names are… Austin Brown- high tenor ( red hair). Rob Lundquist- lead tenor (beard). Adam Chance- baritone-bass (usually in the back). Tim Foust-super bass(5 octave range). Adam Rupp one of the founding members of the group and world class beatboxing champion!
I just love it when someone new discovers Home Free. I've been a "Home Fry" for about two years now. Another classic they have done is Unchained Melody, in which they stay true to it's origin as the theme song of a 1950's prison movie. That is something that so many appreciate about Home Free when they do a cover, they honor the original while still making it their own. Many a Home Fry has said, they don't just do covers, they do upgrades. You will have to judge for yourself how accurate that is. They have been asked by the original artists to do a collaboration with them. Some of the artists they have worked with has been; Oak Ridge Boys, Elvira; Don McLean, American Pie; Kenny Rogers, Children Go Where I Send Thee; and Lee Greenwood, God Bless The USA. They have also written and performed their own original songs which are wonderful. Looking forward to watching you react to many more songs by our boys. The list of songs they have done is long.
Shawn Stockman was a judge on the Sing Off, which Home Free won in 2013. He was a fan, especially of Tim, the bass. I think you should do Folsom Prison Blues next, to hear more of Tim and Chance, the one that was in the back next to the beat boxer, Adam. Rob is the one with the beard, and Austin is the one that sang When A Man Loves a Woman.
Great reaction! It is so much fun watching other people enjoying the talents of each member of Home Free! They all have so much to add to the group, and I can't wait to see your reactions to more of their vocals as you travel down this rabbit hole of Home Free! Have a wonderful day!
I love Boyz II Men and have played End of the Road so many times. I never thought I'd ever like a cover of this song. But Home Free did it, while maintaining the respect for the original. How wonderfully sung by all! But for me it is mainly Rob who nailed it. What a great voice with so much soul in it. He touches me deep inside. Of course it is the combination of the other leads, fantastic harmony, bone-feeling bassline and incredible vocal percussion that makes it complete.
Great reaction, welcome to the wonderful world of Home Free! Gospel Rob takes us to church in this one!! Check out "Brothers In Arms" if you want to hear bass Tim featured.
And to throw you for another loop Rob and Austin “sang” some Opera! They sing Nessun Dorma and kill it. Even if you’re not an opera fan it’s a must see!
All of these guys can SANG! The beat boxer Adam Rupp can also sing but you rarely hear him. One song where he sings a couple of lines is "How great thou art" The lead singer in this song was Rob Lundquist. The lead singer in When a man loves a woman was Austin Brown. The bass singer is Tim Foust and the guy you have not heard from yet is Adam Chance (Called Chance because there are 2 Adam's in the group) Baritone/bass singer with a silky smooth voice. You have so so many wonderful songs to hear from this group. I am looking forward to watching you become a Home Fry!
Thank you for reminding me the name of the 2nd Adam... Rupp does the beat boxing mainly but CHANCE... he's a great baritone too... I knew it was 2 Adam's... just couldn't remember Chance.
Ahhh, I think you're fried, Home Fried! LOL Home Free fans are called home fries and I'm one of them. I love everything Home Free. Thanks for the reaction and please do more. Ring of Fire, Folsom Prison Blues, Listen to the music and many many more.
I love just about everything I've ever seen Home Free do. Austin Brown (Mr. Golden Voice) should be a superstar in his own right ! Check out a few other their other covers, and for some fun try their 'The Butts Remix'.
Have you heard Austin's Everlasting Ground? He has released three solos since mid-May, and will have another in a few weeks. Only audio so far, no videos, but available on his channel under "releases".
I add my vote for 'Man of Constant Sorrow'. It's a great next step to discover Tim's bass and Adam's beatboxing skills as you learn more about the group. Then maybe follow that up with the Sea Shanty Medley to get to know Adam Chance. Great reaction!
Home Free won the fourth season of The Sing-Off, an acapella competition. Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was one of the judges .He was a big fan of the group. He commented on Tim Foust, the bass, on their performance of Ring of Fire hitting sn extremely low note. Shawn. said the only one to hit such a low note that he knew was Michael McCary in Boyz II Men . Shawn also repeatedly praised Austin Brown's voice ,(the guy in the jacket you liked). Shawn would say Austin's voice was as smooth as butter and that Austin wasn't just another singing white boy. Austin was thrilled by Shawn's compliment because he often listened to Shawn on CDs in school. According to Austin Shawn's compliment was one of f the highlights of his life. All the guys in the group can sing lead. The person that does lead is the person who has the best. voice for the song. Adam Rupp doesn't sing lead because he prefers to beat box . These are humble down to earth guys who feel fortunate to make a living doing what they love. They love to have fun and don't take themselves too seriously. They can sing any genre from country to opera.
@@dyoutman They sang backup for Jewel on the show' s finale. It was fantastic. Which episode did they sing with Shawn,? I would love to see it. They are all so gifted.

For a little Chance lead, and some blues rock (think solo harmonica, but without an actual harmonica), check out "Working For a Living." Plus it will give you a peak into their homourous side (which is huge!) Did I mention the video is a "Ron Jeremy: Anchorman" parody? 😂
These guys do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance is holding down the bass in the back, Tim adding some deeper bass notes & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. All their songs are good whether it is serious, heart warming or funny.
"R&B" Rob was up on this song as opposed to "Gospel" Rob or some of his other personalities. These guys can do justice to virtually genre. They are all excellent vocalists. Tim ( he's actually a BASS bass with an astonishing range) and Chance (back right, lost in the 'choir' on this one) both have their share of leads in other songs. Adam (the beatboxer) can sing well, but so far we haven't seen him in a lead except for very short bits - we are waiting.... Tim, Austin (golden voice), and Chance all have solo careers, too. And they do collaborations with other singers/small groups. Enjoy the trip down one of the best, deepest rabbit holes in music.
All the members can sing lead. I discovered them about 3 years ago while recovering from a broken ankle. Their range in incredible, and we must not forget that they are sing acapella.
Boyz to Men were just great ... they did a beautiful job with their hit .... however - THIS GROUP OF INCREDIBLE singers of four registers, one beat boxer ..... KNOCK IT OUT OF THE PARK !!! Home Fry, jj
First things first: GREAT SHIRT! (this is from a member of the Texas Aggie Band Class of 1977...) Excellent reaction! Home Free is in a league of their own and they absolutely kill it in just about every genre. YES - they brought it home. They always do.
Great reaction!!! If you want to hear my personal favorite listen to their version of Love Train by the O’Jays it’s so awesome it makes you forget that it’s a Capella!
They do a fabulous job on "Travelin' Soldier " and it really shows off Adam Rupp's snare drum talent. there is no genre that these guys can't sing so, come on down the rabbit hole that is Home Free. This rabbit hole is so big you won't ever feel claustrophobic! Great reaction.
IMO, nothing will ever replace the original magic from hearing Boyz 11 Men sing this masterpiece, & I am so happy that Home Free, was able to keep the original integrity of the song, yet still inject their own magic, allowing us, to fall in love with it, all over again 💕 *I don't believe any other group, other than Home Free, could have pulled this off, & the fact that they are an a Capella group, puts them on a completely different level of skill & talent* 💕
This group has 4 lead singers plus the best beatboxer in the business. Their bass (Tim Foust) has a 5 octave range and can sing high just as well as super low..
Home Free is the real deal. When on the NBC show the Sing Off (they won in 2013) Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. I think they did the song justice. They can sing any genre and they all take the lead depending on the song. Rob (glasses)is the tenor. Austin (redhead, second lead here) high tenor, Tim (bass) has a 5 octave range. He can sing super low and then sing up with the tenors. In older videos he has long dark hair but during Covid he cut his hair and has gray in it now. Chance, back right in this video. Joined in 2016 when Chris left. He’s the baritone/bass. Super smooth voice. Adam (beatboxer). He’s amazing!!! Hope that helps. Try I Can’t Outrun You, Skull and Bones, Blue Ain’t Your Color, Can’t Stop the Feeling. 😍
We saw Home Free live in the second row about 8 months ago and they are absolutely amazing. You will not be sorry going to their show. The sound BETTER than youtube and they even throw a lot of humor into their shows. Go see them.
All these guys have got the vocal chops. Tim Foust the bass has a 3+ octave range from sub-woofer blowing (Ring of Fire) to very respectable tenor. (Mayday and My Maria). Rob Lundquist (bearded soul guy) and Austin Brown (you wanted his jacket) actually attempt opera (Nessun Dorma). You can judge for yourself. Their baritone Adam Chance (they call him Chance) has good solos in their great cover of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues, and their Sea Shanty Medley.done during Covid. As you've already heard, the fifth member is their indispensable world class Boxer Adam Rupp. He has at least one live solo performance video.
Thank you for tipping your toes in the Home Free pool - this is a deep rabbit hole you are entering! While they are listed as the first country acapella group, they can do a.n.y.thing...better than the originals. They do covers like this and their own material. No two songs are alike, but now that you've seen this, you may want to check out Mayday to see their versatility, keeping in mind that Tim Foust is a 5-octave bass and Adam Chance is primarily a baritone. You will have quite a following as you enjoy the HF journey!
I love watching people discover Home Free. The group you never knew that you always needed. You can hear Adam Chance, Baritone, takes the lead on Helplessly Hoping. They also just released a new original, Might As Well Be Me, by Tim Foust , Bass.(Tim has longish brown hair pre-pandemic, short grey hair post-pandemic) This new releases, shows Home Free's funny side, or rather, their true selves, they really are just 5 kids playing at being grownups.
They absolutely killed this! They are so extremely talented! There is nothing they cannot do. Their beat boxer is par excellence! Absolutely love your reaction!
I enjoyed watching you listening to Home Free. They are the real deal and do even more individually. It’s a long list that you will get from many Home Fries. Great reaction to a greater song. I subbed and look forward to more.
Shawn Stockman (of the R&B vocal group Boyz II Men), was one of the judges on the competition tv show The Sing Off where Home Free competed. He loved these guys.
American Pie was the first time I saw Home Free. I was so thrilled to see that Don McClean was still singing. I'm glad he and American Pie introduced me to HF. 🏡🍟
Welcome to the world of Home Fries. They have been making brilliant music for some years now, so lots to hear. If I were you I would do Man of Constant Sorrow next, shows more of their individual talents. Then maybe Folsom Prison Blues, American Pie, God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, Unchained Melody or One Man Band. Suggest holding off on Mayday, it has some surprises. Look forward toc more of your happy reactions.
I have a suggestion. Check out ,"Do Heat What I Hear" Christmas Song. Absolutely phenomenal!. Then the lyric video skull and bones and the live version. Unbelievable!
The first time I saw this in their catalog, I thought "Really?". Well, I guess so. Rob absolutely killed that. All 4 of the vocalists have taken leads in different songs. For more of Tim Foust, the bass, try Brother In Arms. For Chance, the baritone/bass, try I Can't Outrun You. Basically anything in their very deep and varied catalog will be a good choice.
For something amusing check out Home Free's "Butts Remix". And while Home Free has covers and originals from many genres they actually come from country roots. An example is their cover of Blake Shelton's "Hillbilly Bone", which is a light hearted party song.
I was able to see them live a couple days ago at our state fair. They are just as great and a lot of fun. Be sure to check out one of Adam Rupp's drum solo videos. He did it live at the concert. SO cool!!
Texas Aggies??? I just watched your reaction to Home Free's End of the Road. I truly enjoyed your reaction to my favorite group. Discovering this immensely talented group has restored my faith in mankind. I know you are not from Texas, so what is your connection to Texas A&M University? WHOOP!
Ok I 👂 heard it and 👀seen it. I loved 🥰 your reaction. Thank you so much. 🔥🔥. Shawn of boyz to men, said they were so amazing. They sang it their way. It’s beautifully done ❤
Great reaction, bad shirt! Hook 'em Horns! LOL So many great Home Free songs to come. Don't sleep on their collaborations with Kenny Rogers, Billy Gilman and Don McLean.
New subscriber. The leader with the beard is Rob Lundquist (leader tenor). He his a smooth, jazzy voice the sweet & mellow. The ginger hair singer is Austin Brown (high tenor) and bass is Tim Foust and his bass can go lower. Check out Home Free Butts Melody for some fun. Austin Brown sang When A Man Loves A Woman. Great reaction.
Caution: Home Free is highly addictive. They're all vocal chameleons (the beatboxer rarely gets a chance but he has a great voice too). 3 of them are song writers, so there are lots of originals as well as covers. They tour 150-200 shows a year, so there are loads of live videos too. Bonus - the acapella bands have huge world-wide, under-served followings; you'll find your subscriptions rise exponentially by playing them! Love from a new subscriber in Canada.
First let me say that I really enjoyed your reaction. An interesting fact is that the year that Home Free won the Sing Off, one of the judges was Shawn Stockman. He was always very complimentary of Home Free. While I have absolutely no proof, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that Shawn may have had some influence on their willingness to cover this Boyz II Men classic. In any event, Home Free is a fantastic a cappella group capable of covering all genres, as well as performing a few of their own original works. I look forward to many more of your reactions. Oh yeah, if you want a good laugh... check out their "Butts Remix"! And since I am a huge harmony and a cappella fan, I never miss an opportunity to recommend that people also give a listen to several other great a cappella groups, namely Pentatonix, VoicePlay and Voctave. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed! Happy listening!!!
You can't go wrong with any song you choose, cover or original. These guys are great. Don't forget to check out some of their not so serious songs too, like "The Butts Medley" 🙂
@@itzel1735 100% agree. They actually have a lot of partying vibe songs now that I think about it. Maybe Hillbilly Bone might be a good one to do next since Tim is the featured singer and he wanted to hear more bass, but Land of the Free should definitely be on a list.
Howdy from Texas. It's time to hear from the bass section. Time to hear some blues, Folsom Prison Blues. Tim, the basso profundo, and Chance, baritone bass strut their stuff in Brothers in Arms or Hillbilly Bone too.
Austin Brown, who needs to bring a couple jackets to you BBQ has some great solo tracks on UA-cam. The bass, Tim Foust does as well. I believe that they started doing solo work during the pandemic. Tim dropped a doo-wop album with some covers that will blow your mind. It gives you a picture of how many octaves he covers. It's more than a few...
I have heard these guys sing Pop, RnB, Blues, Country, Gospel, and even OPERA (Rob and Austin). Austin, Chance, and Tim do solo work too that you can easily find here on YT. I saw them as a group in Jacksonville, Florida about 6 or 7 weeks ago and they sound as good and better than their produced tracks of music. They are funny on stage, and they are a group of very decent men in their personal lives. I have been going to concerts since the late 60's and I never enjoyed a concert more than theirs. Anyway, be well, sir, Duke
Yes !...Rob..the lead in glasses..took everyone to Church !!!..😁... Please stay with this group...you'll discover many many enjoyable songs... Looking forward to the next Home Free reaction !... 🌿🌿🌿

This group has 4 lead singers plus the best beatboxer in the business. Their bass (Tim Foust) has a 5 octave range and can sing high just as well as super low..
Watching your face as you watch them sing is precious. Go ahead get excited about good singing!
They Love what they do....and it shows!! Love your heartfelt reactions, so glad I fpund you!!!
Actually, that is five octaves. And he uses them ALL.
L-R
Tim - Adam - Rob - Chance - Austin
Bass - Beats - Beardy - Bashful - Beauty
You do good reactions, Justin D. Hope to see more HF reactions, thank you!
Four of the five can sing lead without missing a beat! - a major HOME FRY here :)
I enjoyed watching you listening to Home Free. They are the real deal and do even more individually. It’s a long list that you will get from many Home Fries. Great reaction to a greater song. I subbed and look forward to more.
American Pie is a great song its done with the orignal singer Don Mclean singing lead. And all the members get their oun runs.
Shawn Stockman (of the R&B vocal group Boyz II Men), was one of the judges on the competition tv show The Sing Off where Home Free competed. He loved these guys.
When I found this group this was the first song I heard them do and Ive been hooked ever since.
They do American Pie with Don McLean and each one has their own part. Its Amazing
This cover brought me back 30 years on a trip down memory lane!
Love your reactions
I so love that you have loved this..... thank you.
❤🤠HOMEFREE 🤠❤
the transitions are perfect........ and so soulful.
These guys can sing anything. Saw them live in Houston last year. Love the shirt btw👍
Shawn also gushed over Austin’s voice; he said “the boy can blow!”
The other guy with a beard in the back is Chance you can hear him in their cover of Blue Ain't Your Color.
Since you invited them to the BBQ, let me invite you to their BBQ. Try Can't Stop the Feeling and Hillbilly Bone so you can see how they party.
100% agree. “Land of the Free” is a surprisingly great party song too. I want to be at THAT cookout.
@@itzel1735 100% agree. They actually have a lot of partying vibe songs now that I think about it. Maybe Hillbilly Bone might be a good one to do next since Tim is the featured singer and he wanted to hear more bass, but Land of the Free should definitely be on a list.
Another good one is an Austin original from earlier days called “Good Ol’ Boy Good Time”
Chech out brothers in arms if you enjoy bass. You will also hear Chance.
Shawn Stockmon said Austin's voice was like butter
Gotta check out Rob and Austin performing Nessun Dorma!! ❤
Yes !...Rob..the lead in glasses..took everyone to Church !!!..😁...
Please stay with this group...you'll discover many many enjoyable songs...
We' are the Home Fries 🍟..and will watch all of their videos you react to...I think I left you a starter's list on When A Man Loves A Woman...
Shawn Stockman was a judge on their season of The Sing Off..he approved of their rendition of End Of The Road when it debuted...Shawn is a fan and likely the first Home 🍟..👍😁...
The Bass Tim Foust has a 5+ octave range..if you like doo-wop he's a big fan...he has a channel and I'd suggest you listen to
💥...Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay
from his Pieces of Me volume 1 album on his channel...
Looking forward to the next Home Free reaction !...
🌿🌿🌿
Bro they can ALL sing like their life depends on it. Chance (back roght) came a little later but he's singing more leads now. He and Tim both have muli-octave ranges.
Just when you think Austin's gonna take all the honors, Reverend Rob steps in and starts preaching the gospel of love.
