You just say what you have to say. It's a reaction, and if that's your genuine reaction, then go for it. Adam is world class, next level talented and skilled. He taught himself beat boxing and vocal percussion and has worked very hard to hone his craft for over 20 years. Someone asked him how long it took him to learn to beat box and he answered "I'm still learning." I had the privilege to see Home Free live last October and Adam's solo set was jaw dropping. It was creative, electrifying and exciting. I never thought I'd be listening in particular for percussion in music. Then I discovered Home Free and specifically Adam Rupp. This is an older video and he's just gotten more awesome since then. He learned to play the drums so he could be more accurate with his vocal percussion. Love this guy and his fabulous skills. If you get a chance to see them live, go for it. You will have a fabulous time. They make you feel as if you are part of their musical journey and not just an observer. Great reaction! Good job.
Love Adam Rupp & his insane talent. He is the best out there in my opinion. He simulates the sounds of a drum perfectly. Many drummers have commented on how good he is. He sounds so realistic. His breath control must be crazy. I heard he makes the sounds both while inhaling & exhaling. This was a few years ago & hard to believe but he is even better now. Adam is the glue that holds Home Free together. He is their secret weapon which other a cappella groups can't match.
Also so he could mimick the sounds better. I heard his roommate at the time said he'd sit there for hours with the drum set just trying to mimick one sound. Don't know if that's true or not but it sounds like something he would do.
The most well known would be Home Free Concert Morrison, IL 8/19/15. The video is about 27 minutes long and some great songs and some greater comedy moments.
Great reaction!! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Home Free twice in concert and left in amazement at their God-given talent both times!! They are all phenomenal singers and as Tim says welcome to the party! It’s hard to imagine that the guys take a vocal break while Adam does a 7-10 minute solo. Each time is different and he’s only gotten better. He now uses a looper to add extra layers to his solo. Simply incredible! Definitely get to a concert when you can, you won’t regret it! I think Listen to the Music and Workin’ for a Livin’ are two MUSTS for your list. Can’t wait to see more Home Free reactions. You are now learning, Home Free never disappoints!!
The incomparable Adam Rupp--beatboxer and vocal percussionist extraordinaire!! Home Free's secret weapon❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ I don't know that anyone has ever actually publicized Adam's range, but I sincerely believe his is the widest vocal range of all the Home Free fellas 💕
LMAO!!!!! He is an alien. He is at least for me the best out there. Home Free IS THE BEST!!!! They can sing anything. So many awesome songs. Check out " How Great Thou Art" you will love it.
“I Can’t Outrun You “- Chance lead, 5 part harmony, hauntingly beautiful, and Chance directed the video. “Brothers in Arms “- more 5 part harmony, and it’s bass/baritone heavy. “Butts Medley”, not only vocally fantastic but hilarious as well. “Helplessly Hoping”- more 5 part harmony. Adam’s talent really shines in “Mary Did You Know “. And Adam did the arrangement for their incredible rendition of “Do You Hear What I Hear “, a Christmas song I never much cared for, but Home Free made me love it.
A couple of songs to check out. "listen to the music", a cover of the Doobie Bros hit, and then a Home Free original "Understand". This original song is so worthy of everyday radio play!
Adam’s nickname by his bandmates is Freak Of Nature. He has be beatboxing for 23 + years and is self taught and still learning new sounds. Now a days he uses looper in the beginning of his solos to make his own song it’s incredible then does his other beatboxing. There are videos of other solos where he does a Michael Jackson part dancing and all. He blows my mind every time I hear him Maybe next year when they start touring again the might get close to DC 😊
Well, the Home Free guys loving refer to him as "a freak of nature". & they're not at all wrong. Adam is insane with talent & skill. One reactor said Adam's birth certificate labels him as 'instrument' rather than a gender. 😅😂😂❤❤❤
Some of my favorites are Love Train, Catch me if you Can, Undivided, Walking this Land, Children go where I send Thee, Can't stop that feeling...gosh, okay. Too many to mention!
Adam Rupp the freak of nature! He's amazing. You know those kids that never stop making noises in class? I bet he was in trouble every day from his teachers.
It's awesome when someone new finds Home Free and appreciates the talent of these men‼️ Loving your reactions ❤ keep it up❣ we will keep coming back‼️ Amazing and Thank you for you time‼️❤🤗
What impresses me, beyond the huge range of sounds he can make, is that when he does the vocal percussion for a Home Free song, he never does more than is necessary. He fits his performance to the needs of the song. It takes a lot of character to be willing to step back and not show off when you have that much ability and have put as much work and time into developing your craft as he obviously has.
Loved your reaction. He is amazing, isn't he. I've seen so many versions of his solo and it never gets old. I was lucky enough to see him live last December. He now uses a looper in the first part so he can harmonize with himself over the drum line. Freakin' unbelievable. And my 2 favorite things aren't even in the solo - he does amazing brushes and in the Sea Shanty he does castanets. And, even though I've seen so many solo videos, not once have I ever noticed the lights. Ha!
Adam's mother is a music director at their church. As a result, he was around music all his life. And if the church band was short someone, he was willing to jump in and help so learned a bit of various instruments here and there. He went to college for trumpet but can also play bass guitar and drums. Maybe more. He didn't start beatboxing until he was in college. The movements just come naturally to him. He does them in music videos as well. But the rare times he sings, he stands perfectly still. And it is Rupp, like cup. His grandparents lived in a town only about 45 minutes from me.
He learned how to actually play the drum kit in order to be more accurate in his movements. He began learning how to beatbox when Chris and he began Home Free.
Also to get better at mimicking the sounds. I heard his roommate at the time said he would sit for hours at the drum set trying to mimick one sound. I don't know if that's true but to me it sounds like something he would do.
Home Free is well worth going out of state to see them live. I live in central California and I flew to British Columbia, Canada to see them. I took Amtrak to Stateline, NV for concert #3. (Concert #2 was just a ride a couple hours south to Stockton.) I have all the arrangements for concert #4 in December: front row for their Christmastime tour. I'm flying to Omaha and taking Amtrak back to California. In about a month Home Free will start a 2-week tour of Europe. When the US went into lockdown, closing our borders a few years ago because of COVID they were in the midst of a European tour, which they had to abandon suddenly. It was a case of pack up and leave NOW, in the middle of the night, or not be able to come home at all. I think they're trying to finish off some of those dates now, as they did for Canada early last year. If you can get tickets to a show after they come back, DO IT! Their shows are fantastic. Even the VIP seats are worth it. Meeting them and talking with them before the show is such a treat. They are a friendly and funny bunch of guys.
Isn't it great to be alive and experience something as glorious as this?! And after more than twenty years of this kind of adulation, he has never let it go to his head. Home Free is so talented and popular, but they still give off this humble, fun, thankful, regular guys vibe.
You gonna have to travel to see them. They don’t come to coastal big cities. Backing May, I saw them in Atlantic City. I’m in Philly and I would kill to have them come there.
I think a very good explanation for this: Adam Rupp is a drum alien in Angelguise. 😅 Because he is so unbelievably good(and handsome too😊😍)!! Like he swallowed a drum kit. And then vocally he can also make so many more (instrument) sounds which is not normal I also love the moves he makes with it. He has learned that especially to make it look "more real". The glue from Home Free. Adam Rupp comes from a very musical family. His brother Chris with whom he started Home Free is also super talented. Also listen to Chris solos but also other projects like 7th ave where he sings with their sister Tristin. I am so happy to see them on September 27 in Utrecht Netherlands. I'm willing to admit that I might miss the last train home... Then I'll just have to sleep at the station😂
He reminds me of Michael Winslow of Police Academy fame in the variety and accuracy of the sounds he makes. He not only does the solo in every concert, he commands a looper and creates his own music now. He is the best dancer in the group, and is the litersl heartbeat of Home Free. He and his brother Chris started this group back in college. His sacrifices, determination, business savvy, and dedication kept this group together, hired the right members, and built their sound. He still arranges amazing songs and designs every percussion arrangement for each new offering. When he joins in 5 part harmony such as Helplessly Hoping it is magical.
They were in the middle of a European tour when covid hit,so they had to come home and could not finish the tour, keep checking the dates, they pop up almost anywhere. i live in rural maine and they have come there twice, saw them both times
The capability of excellence by each of the individuals in this group is off the charts awesome that allows them the flexibility to do so many types of vocalizations and to do it exceptionally well. I have not found a genre they are afraid to tackle whether individually or as a group they are amazing. Then top that off with their arrangements that augment the presentation to be "Home Free" owned. The legendary status of our Home Free vocalists just keeps mounting to greater accolades that is very deserving of our attention. They are simply amazing and yet they are very humble. It is a privilege to enjoy their vocal gifts!!!! ❣
I believe he taught himself how to play them at least a bit just to get the feel and sounds more accurate. He is definitely a secret weapon for Home Free.
At the beginning Adam and his brother Chris Rupp started/formed the group. Chris decided to do a solo career and Chance took his place. Chance is his last name and his first name is also Adam which is why he goes by Chance in the group. One of my favorite videos of them is a funny one....Butts Remix. A mix of a bunch of songs that have to do with back sides, including "I like Big Butts". LOL.
What makes HF unique is that they don't have a frontman, they have FIVE frontmen. Adam Rupp is capable of singing lead (It is well with my soul HOW GREAT THOU ART) but prefers percussion and harmonies. HF does use instruments, but you will clearly see them in the video if the group is featured in the video. Some videos will be hilarious and others will move your heart. No pick me up better than being Home Freed. Starting with the pandemic HF started releasing home recorded songs almost every second Friday. They kept us sane and boosted our spirits and I call it being HomeFreed. I honestly don't miss other artists anymore. Some members have their own channels that you should check out later. Austin, Tim and Chance (the second Adam) release covers and originals, whilst Rob does something completely different on his channel. They also love to collaborate with other artists and those collabs are gold. HF will make you enjoy every genre of music they cover, which starts with country and ends with opera. Till next time. 😊
Check out their video Man of Constant Sorrow to hear Adam's nomonica. Actually, in the live bit 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown they all show their beatboxing talent. There are two versions of that one: one with Chris Rupp (which I prefer because of the better lighting) and a later one with Adam Chance.
Seen them twice here in Georgia and both times my husband said I never stopped smiling literally from ear to ear. Their shows are a blast! And it’s incredibly overwhelming to be listening to all this talent happening right in front of you. Begging my husband to take me to NC for Christmas shows lol
It's "end of the current tour" time. They will be releasing a new album before too long and will be setting up next year's tour schedule soon. Don't give up hope yet.
No he is not. He said he doesn't have the time nor the desire to compete in one. He won a few small/ local competitions many years ago. One was a Harmony Sweepstakes competition, one was against other a cappella beatboxers, and one other, I think. I can't remember exactly. Every Beatboxing World Championship is here on YT if you want to check.
They all play instruments, but I've heard that Adam learned to play so he could be more authentic with his performance. Another one that impresses is all of them beatboxing in 9 to 5 Breakdown. GOTTA check it out. Love your reactions. Their previous world tour was cut short due to covid... don't feel so bad--I don't think they're coming to Oklahoma any time soon either!
I ran out of superlatives a long time ago trying to make a meaningful comment on anything from Home Free. Just saying' now that I am addicted, and it appears that you have taken the first several steps into HF addiction, too. Welcome! It's a trip you won't regret.
Don't worry, they always throw in extra tour dates. They do that in California all the time. You are right. Each member is uniquely talented in their own right. But, lets face it, talented singers are a dime-a-dozen. Just look at you tube. They're all over the place. It's when they get together to perform that the magic happens. When they are together is when the magic happens and they can't be
This will always remain a great video to react to. But I really wish people would start requesting the newer one. This one is just so old now, and Adam Rupp has just gotten even better over time.
To get the full experience you really need to get a good set of head phones not lying. I'm 65 and was told the same thing. I was missing sooo much that I didn't even know it. Head phones make a world of difference. Keep the great reactions coming.
Great reaction!! They're finally getting back to finishing the European tour that got canceled in 2020 for the pandemic. I'm sure they'll make their way up there sometime soon. Don't worry about how many times you say how good they are. True Home Fries never tire of it. Can't wait to see what's next.
I was lucky enough to see this live. I live on the east coast and the closest they came to me was the Boston area. I had to go I took my wife and we had a great time This was in the middle of the concert He performed a solo and it was just fantastic. I haven't had a time to listen to their newest album but the last one dive bar saints is just fantastic
DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR. Arranged by Adam. I listen to this six times on the trot. Older title with his brother Chris still part of the group. (Watch out for Austin doing the percussion beatboxing sound). By the way is Rupp as in up 👆and Rob Lundquist as in fun/lun lund. Love your reactions. So glad we get to take you on the HF journey. 🎉
I'm sick of myself saying how good they are, lol! At some point, we run out of words to describe their talent! I sit, with jaw hanging, stunned, and just say, "yep, that just happened" 😳🤯
Adam is a trained musician with a degree in music. He plays not only the drums, but also keyboard, trumpet and bass guitar. Amazing talent!
Please do Austin & Rob singing Nessun Dorma…you will not be disappointed
And Austen singing "Bring Him Home."
You just say what you have to say. It's a reaction, and if that's your genuine reaction, then go for it. Adam is world class, next level talented and skilled. He taught himself beat boxing and vocal percussion and has worked very hard to hone his craft for over 20 years. Amen
When us Home Fries say Adam Rupp is the best in music, we are not lying...he is a genius !!!! Go to the concert in Raleigh you'll never regret it.
HF is a once in a generation talent. I'm so glad your doing these great reactions of HF!
❤❤
You absolutely nailed it.
I'd say KO from Pentatonix is on the same level, just in a different direction, and both are that critical component for their respective groups
He taught himself how to play drums so his movements look realistic
Adam has a bachelor's degree in music and is trained in trumpet, drums and bass guitar 😊
Also so he could mimick the sounds better. I heard his roommate at the time said he'd sit there for hours with the drum set just trying to mimick one sound. Don't know if that's true or not but it sounds like something he would do.
You need to see the video of Tim blowing speakers out at different concerts and venues with his bsss.
The most well known would be Home Free Concert Morrison, IL 8/19/15. The video is about 27 minutes long and some great songs and some greater comedy moments.
He is the best....by far!
They are the bomb! 😂
Butts Medley by them will SLAY you 😂
He actually played the trumpet in college !
Great reaction!!
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Home Free twice in concert and left in amazement at their God-given talent both times!! They are all phenomenal singers and as Tim says welcome to the party!

The incomparable Adam Rupp--beatboxer and vocal percussionist extraordinaire!! Home Free's secret weapon❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
I don't know that anyone has ever actually publicized Adam's range, but I sincerely believe his is the widest vocal range of all the Home Free fellas 💕
That's what the other HF guys will tell you.
There is a video on UA-cam for his range and it is extreme!
Adam Rupp is Home Free of all the members he has been with Home Free the longest.
Home Free is doing a free concert in Morgantown WV tomorrow evening. About 3 hours away.
Is that, pause,..... MAGIC?
LMAO!!!!! He is an alien. He is at least for me the best out there. Home Free IS THE BEST!!!! They can sing anything. So many awesome songs. Check out " How Great Thou Art" you will love it.

I agree with you. They are unbelievable. 😎
His attention to detail is unmatched
Brother Adam is a walking sound machine the best at his craft.
Maybe next year when they start touring again the might get close to DC 😊
Adam is a beast!! I get to see him and HF live in October!! He does a solo every concert!! Hope u can see them live!!
If you listen to these boys you need headphones so you can hear everything it's insane..🏡🆓🏡🍟
Well, the Home Free guys loving refer to him as "a freak of nature". & they're not at all wrong. Adam is insane with talent & skill. One reactor said Adam's birth certificate labels him as 'instrument' rather than a gender. 😅😂😂❤❤❤
First couple times I saw this I caught myself watching with my mouth hanging open. LoL. Truly amazing.
Some of my favorites are Love Train, Catch me if you Can, Undivided, Walking this Land, Children go where I send Thee, Can't stop that feeling...gosh, okay. Too many to mention!
Rupp as in up! Great reaction thanks for sharing. Adam never disappoints.
Adam Rupp the freak of nature! He's amazing. You know those kids that never stop making noises in class? I bet he was in trouble every day from his teachers.
Rupp rhymes with up. 👍🏽😁
I've seen them LIVE. Bro, it would be totally worth the drive to Raleigh.
It's awesome when someone new finds Home Free and appreciates the talent of these men‼️ Loving your reactions ❤ keep it up❣ we will keep coming back‼️ Amazing and Thank you for you time‼️❤🤗
A freak of nature for sure !!
Adam Rupp is absolutely the best beatboxer. He is amazing.❤️❤️❤️
Great Reaction, Love Adam Rupp ❤
Calling Adam a Parrot is PERFECT. He flat MIMICS things, he's NOT human. ❤😊
Loved your reaction. He is amazing, isn't he. I've seen so many versions of his solo and it never gets old. I was lucky enough to see him live last December. He now uses a looper in the first part so he can harmonize with himself over the drum line. Freakin' unbelievable. And, even though I've seen so many solo videos, not once have I ever noticed the lights. Ha!
Adam is an alien. What I don’t get is how he breathes. I’ve had it explained but I still can’t understand it. 😍
Adam's mother is a music director at their church. As a result, he was around music all his life. And if the church band was short someone, he was willing to jump in and help so learned a bit of various instruments here and there. Prepare to be even more amazed and watch Austin and Rob sing opera Nessun Dorma. You’ll be gobsmacked.
Home Free is well worth going out of state to see them live. I live in central California and I flew to British Columbia, Canada to see them. I took Amtrak to Stateline, NV for concert #3. Wow lol ❤❤❤❤
Tim Foust calls Adam Rupp the magic behind Home Free. Adam does a drum solo every live concert.
Im with ya, I found out about them 2 years ago, when i suggest them to my friends, i am amazed they havent heard about them yet
The travel is worth the trip. Got to see them in person....that is not normal that's insane. Worth the trip..
I am 65 now and have never been such a fan of any group and I been here for all the greats. Enjoy the ride!
Isn't it great to be alive and experience something as glorious as this?! And after more than twenty years of this kind of adulation, he has never let it go to his head. Home Free is so talented and popular, but they still give off this humble, fun, thankful, regular guys vibe.

I see them whenever they're within 200 miles of me and can tell you, it's more amazing in person
Watching them live is mind blowing! I get to see them this friday for the fifth time!!! Met them all once before concert, so humble and amazing!!!!!
I think a very good explanation for this: Adam Rupp is a drum alien in Angelguise. 😅
Because he is so unbelievably good(and handsome too😊😍)!! Like he swallowed a drum kit. And then vocally he can also make so many more (instrument) sounds which is not normal

The glue from Home Free.

Butts Medley is a MUST!!!!
One of very best drummers I've heard and he gets down on the harmonica
Thanks man. That was interesting and amazing.
I’m going to see them November 30th in Oxford, Alabama. I’m so excited!!!!!
The capability of excellence by each of the individuals in this group is off the charts awesome that allows them the flexibility to do so many types of vocalizations and to do it exceptionally well. Love Adam Rupp
If you want to say something, say it! It's your channel and your fans will hang with you. Love Adam Rupp!
I believe he taught himself how to play them at least a bit just to get the feel and sounds more accurate. He is definitely a secret weapon for Home Free.
Home free request.... their cover of I can't outrun you...the trace adkins song

First question - Yes. It's all Adam. This is almost a decade ago. He's that much better now. There's nobody like Home Free. Nobody.
Seen them twice here in Georgia and both times my husband said I never stopped smiling literally from ear to ear. Their shows are a blast! And it’s incredibly overwhelming to be listening to all this talent happening right in front of you. Begging my husband to take me to NC for Christmas shows lol

Adam is actually a world champion beat boxer.
No he is not. He said he doesn't have the time nor the desire to compete in one. He won a few small/ local competitions many years ago. One was a Harmony Sweepstakes competition, one was against other a cappella beatboxers, and one other, I think. I can't remember exactly. I agree. He can’t possibly be human
There are other videos of his drum solos with better sound. But either way he is AMAZING!!!
He is lovingly called a Freak of Nature. But yeah, I'm fine believing he is an alien
Great reaction ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
I need to react to their live performance of 9 to 5 beatboxe breakdown. Hope you get to see them sometime
Your face said it all. I don't know if you were really surprised or just faked it but you hit how I feel when I watch this on the nose. Great Job
Saw them in Hagerstown MD last October. They are absolutely amazing. They are worth the drive.
Love your reaction...
Really appreciate your perspective...
He's a 1 man drumline!
Austin Brown introduces Adam as their “freak of nature”.
don't worry about what other people think about your journey......Ask questions, we will answer them for you!! Watch and enjoy!!
When they are together is when the magic happens and they can't be
As I understand it, Adam learned to play drums to facilitate the accuracy of his beatboxing.
Keep the great reactions coming.
he has won several international beatboxing competitions
Great reaction!! They're finally getting back to finishing the European tour that got canceled in 2020 for the pandemic. I'm sure they'll make their way up there sometime soon. Don't worry about how many times you say how good they are. True Home Fries never tire of it. Can't wait to see what's next.
Looks like Adam has a new fan. ;-)
Saw them last summer in my local town. So much fun!!!!!!
Skull and bones
Worth the trip to NC or anywhere you can. I've been to several states to see them perform!
They were in Tysons last year and I was able to go for my first time. They are just as amazing in person.
They tour a lot. I'd be shocked if they don't hit up the DC area next year.
I'm sick of myself saying how good they are, lol! At some point, we run out of words to describe their talent! I sit, with jaw hanging, stunned, and just say, "yep, that just happened" 😳🤯
May have to check next year's schedule.
You should see him in person!
