    I just came to your shop to buy this head two weeks ago and was running into this issue. That tension piece of the head was discovered when searching for answers on YT. Such a great improvement and gamechanger!
    Thanks Josh and shout out to the OG, Carl!

    I also noticed that the .95and .105 line inserts are staggered inside the spool and thats why the holding points are different than the .95.
    I am using the .105 black diamond and love its durability and its cutting power! very impressive stuff.
    I also was having issues with this 27-2 until I noticed the different insert locations and different holding point locations. runs like hot butter on a fresh biscuit!

    Really appreciate this! I do use .105 echo black diamond. It was a recommendation at my local dealer and I’m extremely impressed with it over the stock stihl line it came with. I haven’t use every line out there but it’s really strong and cuts really well.

    Some of the stihl supercut 20-2 come with 2 metal guiding pins inside the head, one on each side, that can easily come out and get lost, making it hard for the line to feed properly. Just a heads-up if you look and find just one in there. You might not miss it until the next time you start trimming and the line starts wrapping around the trimmer.

    I’ll be honest, I’m running .105 line in my 25-2. Lasts a lot longer than .095 line for what I cut. It may not be as easy to load as the speed heads, but it hasn’t failed in 13 years.

    Josh - you are the best! Question for you --- I have new 91R w/27-2 head. When I remove the head to attach a Grass Blade --- the adaptor plate does not disconnect from the 27-2 trimmer head.... I need to remove that from the 27-2 and put it back on to attach the grass blade along with the Bolt Cover, Thrust Washer and Nut. How do I get that adapter plate free from the 27-2???? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hey buddy hope you are well l can't get the line to feed your way l do mine the Stihl way 3 arm lengths of string cut that in half there are 2 sets of holes 180 degrees opposite each other l wind the first line of string in the the top of the spool where the line holders are and the 2nd piece 180 degrees opposite the first now the spool is perfectly balanced Stihl has a video how to rewind a 25-2 spool I'm not sure about the 27-2 yet? • @joelewis4336

    Why my head has the .095 and the .105 on the same part of spool, so I can’t wind both ends in at same time because they are on opposite sides. The starting point for .095 is on one side of spool for top and the bottom lower line is on the opposite side of spool starting point? Is this normal?

    • @carlsmowerandsaw
      @carlsmowerandsaw  11 днів тому

      You are correct the .09 5.105 or side-by-side but I have found it with .095 wine I can’t put them both right beside each other and it loads up fine if you go smaller than that 080 it’s a bit more challenging

  • @markparee99
    @markparee99 4 місяці тому

    So wait... are you saying the .105 line (which I like) will still fit in the .095 slots, even though they should be narrower? And that's not going to affect the feeding of the line? By the way, love your vids and find them very helpful....

    • @carlsmowerandsaw
      @carlsmowerandsaw  4 місяці тому

      The .105 can fit in the .095 slots. A bit tough but can happen. Main thing is use the 095 side clips. Lines up better when dropping line into the sleeves

    i got a question , why did that make it to where the sthil 50 c can't use this head, the on on the 50 c is garbage I have to buy 2 or 3 of them the little black bump piece for mine every season, I spend more on that part than needs to be. i have a old fs 106 I am going to take the straight bar and head off and put it on the 50 c with the curve neck. and go back to the good head. or even a head off a fs 56 if it will work.

    • @carlsmowerandsaw
      @carlsmowerandsaw  2 місяці тому +1

      Due to the design of the curved shaft and the way that the head is connected and powered you’re very limited on head options. 1 of the many reasons to go with a straight shaft

      @@carlsmowerandsaw I'm no "engineer" by any means, but the design just makes more sense. The first time I opened a 25-2, I said, "What the? Who the? Why would anyone build? Are you serious? The bump and the spool are one piece?" LOL. But, if it works, it works I guess. Ended up getting a 36-2 for my FS-251 just to run the .130" line. With a T-35, you would just wrap whatever size it could handle. No silly holes to fit into. Oh well. They sell plenty of heads that way. LOL.
