This part 2 video update is on just what happened to that gorgeous long beach blue BMW M2.
Glad there is a happy ending for that m2! I was pretty gutted for the owner & assumed it would never slay any more tyres. Awesome job finding the car in the first place!
Happy ending? The way the owner drove it away at the end suggests it probably won't survive to the 5yr mark.

that was a brilliant outcome,insurance company,s should offer your kit as part of the insurance ,i know i would pay more to get my car pack from the scum that steals it, Great job.

insurance company wont want to pay for the full amount, or overcharge the customer. It would be best for car owner to do it themselves. You pay for the hardware and then it's some £140 odd per year for the service.
It's great to see these cars recovered. But I don't think I'd want it back after all that.
I don't think you should pay more, I think insurance companies should offer a discount, if you fit such a device.

As a car enthusiast, I'm delighted to see this guy get his ride back as he obviously takes great pride in it. I'll bet he's happy with his tracker investment. And great news about the arrest.

Saw the title and thought it had been stolen again. Nice to see an update and they very few items needed to be bought.
When I eventually take delivery of my pride and joy sometime next year (abarth 595) I’m going to be sure to use these guys. Videos like these just shows the lengths they are willing to go to get a customers car back from the bandits ! Gives me so much satisfaction to see it going back to the rightful owner.

Great work. It's very disheartening when you work hard and some scrote comes along and takes something that has been earned. I don't care if its a a BMW M2 or a Scooter. Those of us graft should not have to put up with our possessions being taken just to give a nice life to some piece of sh##.

You are insured, so the insurance company decides what is the best option. If you do not want the car back, you can sell it? If you are not insured, than good luck if you do not want the car back. You probably have to much money.
A close relative was discussing this many years ago. (He was at b'ham university in the 80's).
Another student had had an alf GTV stolen. He said he just didnt really want it back. It's not the same thing. Not as good.

Honestly, if I'd bought that car new from BMW, then the only people I'd ever trust enough to rebuild it properly would be BMW themselves. Knowledge of every correct fixing and torque setting and cable routing and alignment procedure and so on necessary could only ever be done to standard by people extremely familiar with that car. I wonder how many new squeaks and rattles it has now compared to before? Anyone less that that would be unlikely to be able to meet BMW's exacting standards. But just the thought of the festering cretins that stripped it apart having been all over it would be enough to put me off wanting anything to do with it again.

ThatGuyNamedScott. C They were all just bolt on parts so I’d have no problem with that, the only stipulation I would want is that it wouldn’t be listed as a Cat A,B or C or any such thing.
Are you insane?? There WILL be paint damage!!!!!!!! Most of the bolts holding panels on are painted in with the body, now there will be broken and cracked paint seams and graunched off bolts, and chipped/ damaged edges and corners. If you're fine with that..... wow just wow, but okey dokey
@@machomanOOOOHYEEEAH I work at a bodyshop. Parts are often painted on the car, and extra care is ensured to not damage the fresh panels, for obvious reasons. I've seen some wrecks get rebuilt to like new condition. This car resembles what cars typically look like while in the repair process.
@@machomanOOOOHYEEEAH I don't believe I'm insane, in fact, like Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory my mother had me checked :), but I stand by my comment, a properly repaired car is not a problem (and can in fact be better than factory built) and I have been involved in vehicles, their running, maintenance and repairs for over 45 years and still am. I deal with a manufacturer here in the UK, some of their cars sell for £1.5 million new (I won't name them obviously), but I've seen cars that appear to be totalled yet they are repaired without question as it's down to economics and insurers not the whims of the butt hurt owners.

Just FYI, the license plate is visible at 1:06 during the fade out/transition. When blurring out a plate always draw a much bigger square in case the camera shakes, etc.

Great recovery was hoping for a part two outcome. I used to repo cars/vans many yrs ago always good to get the vehicle back.
The guys who take cars are now using signal blockers that plug into the cigarette light and block the tracker signal, I'd suggest additional security measures now as this new method is causing problems with tracking.

Simon Simon the owner may of rebuilt it without the insurance getting involved as something with that much labour would write it off, a rear seat and door alone from bmw are 2-3 grand new plus paint alone
Thats what I would of done. Rebuild without the clame on insurance.
Apart from the tracker the best thing to fit on modern cars is a DISC lock over the steering wheel or a pedal lock that fits over the pedals. The TURDS that take these cars are coming with a lap top and a signal booster and not a grinder or a set of lock picks.
Brother in law had the best anti theft device. Removable steering wheel.

Good result. Very lucky to have gotten it back so quick before it was in a millions pieces all over the country. If I was the owner I would be installing a secondary immobiliser so that even if they scanned the key there is no way they would start it.
Did you find out how it was stolen? Using second key or duplicated key or was it relay hack etc?

would love to get a tracking system for my vehicle's (7 of them).. issue is im not in the UK and the companies that do offer where i am are rated low for actual recoveries.. i bet the owner of that vehicle can attest hands down to the effectiveness of a proper tracker and competent tracking service.

Does the fact that it's been stripped and put back together affect the value of the car? I mean it will have to be logged in the Log Book and I've no doubt that the car would have been sent to BMW to put back together again and everything would have been logged... ?
The owner claimed on his insurance and that means it will have stolen recovered status at the DVLA. The guy in the video is not the owner he was the guy who purchased it from the insurer and rebuilt it

Seems like those cars with wireless keys need an old fashioned cutoff stitch so even if they take the cars key wirelessly they'd still have to fuel around to find a switch..... ffs

Birmingham seems to be a car stripping hotspot. Surely sting operations are in order. But with Tory cuts this probably aint gonna be possible.

I wouldn't do that, they will just try again, they've been in it once, they know where not to look for the tracker, they'll look elsewhere this time.

How do you track it if they bring a gps, gprs and other radio jammers to the car?
So we cannot directly answer that here, but let's just agree that any radio signal can be jammed if you know how. So to have several technology layers helps.
The thief did not block the mobile signals. The tracker logs in to the nearest mobile mast(s), cos it still can communicate via 2G(text) or 3G(TCP/IP - internet) and up. Then it relays the strength of the signals back to the trackers HQ. Cos the location of the mobile masts are known, they can come within 1-2 miles and do the last bit with the UHF radio direction finder. He explains this in many of his older videos. It's not a secret.
You don't need the GPS info, but makes it longer without it.
If there is no mobile service, but the unit can receive GPS, then there is no chance to find it, cos you have zero info where to start,apart from it's somewhere on planet Earth.

@@AutomatricsMtrack I thought you fitted them in a hidden location for the customer, but I see you sell the unit as a self-fit. I wouldn't know where to hide one, the thieves seem to tear the cars apart to find it. Also, do you come out on every theft alert to find the car, etc for all your customers?
