Oh my word that just hit me reading your tweet watching it I was like how do they not know this amazing movie & then I am reading your tweet and I was WOW that’s a thing!
Maybe they listened to the choir. Seriously, listen to the choir in the background, they keep singing "Guys and dolls, guys and dolls, guys and dolls, guys and dolls" over and over again. I thought when the clip started it might be "Guys and Dolls", but I wasn't sure. But when the choir kept singing the title of the musical it was obvious.
kkolbuc I know this isn’t what you were talking about but my sister was just in guys and dolls. I was like “Who the heck knows this one?” And I really liked it. But I just didn’t ever know in myb14 years that that was a musical
Right? Girl, this is a rollercoaster for your emotions and then your heart gets ripped out... but, if your like me, you love it so much you sing along and cry....
I got so happy when they played that scene from the film, I started to sing along "COME WHAT MAY." EEEEEeeee love Ewan McGregor's voice. Such a beautiful movie.
Dishonor on them dishoner on their cow Mary Poppins is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooogood
I loved this episode! If you need suggestions for more musicals: Singin' in the Rain - 1952 South Pacific - 1958 West Side Story - 1961 Fiddler on the Roof - 1971 Grease - 1971 The Rocky Horror Picture Show - 1975 Bugsy Malone - 1976 Footloose - 1984 Sweeney Todd - 2007
How about next time...The King and I, Grease, Peter Pan (with Mary Martin), Chicago, The Wizard of Oz, Hairspray, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Into the Woods, Dream Girls, Sweeney Todd, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver, Mama Mia, Fame, Rent, Phantom of the Opera, La La Land?
Persøn Human Me too! And Jeremy Jordan. And Andrew Keenan-Bolger. And Mike Faist. And Ben Platt. And Lin Manuel Miranda. And Anthony Ramos. And Daveed Diggs. And Laura Dreyfus. And George Salazar. And that’s like .01% of everyone... I need theater geek friends.
i screamed when that beautiful voice that belongs to ewan mcgregor flooded my ears!! i love moulin rouge sooooooo much. saw it in theaters multiple times and i cry everytime
I want newsies so bad I’ve watched it with one of Jeremy Jordan’s last performances met Anthony Zas at a movie theater watching newsies and watched it like ten times at my house on Netflix!!!
mudpuppyforlife56 i actually think the movie looks amazing but I do prefer the stage show. It’s not a bad movie but there are some things to be desired
Sooo... Brianna loves Moulin Rouge. And she loves Aaron Tveit (Which, yes girl, I relate!). Did anyone tell her Aaron Tveit is playing in the new stage production of Moulin Rouge? :D
The song you showed, 'Come What May' from Moulin Rouge, is me and my wife's song. It was our first dance at our wedding and it gets me every time cuz I don't hear it that often anymore. Thanks, now I am misty eyed at my blue collar job.
Mine too! The one I like the least is Phantom Of the Opera. Christine's character will never be as good as when the OG, Sarah Brightman, did it. Nicole Schwinger was close.
I love how they probably unintentionally went from Moulin Rogue to Aaron Tveit in Les Mis, since he is going to be starring in Moulin Rogue the musical this summer in Boston
I love these so much! So glad that you guys had some classic musicals in this. Calamity Jane should be one of the musicals you have them guess next time.
My heart exploded when they played "One Day More" for Les Misérables 💕 me personally I would've played Éponine's solo and the transition to Enjolras's just so they could see how wonderful the transitions in that song are plus they just so happened to be my favorite parts in the song
"Never knew... I could feel like this... Like I've never seen the sky before.... What to vanish inside your kiss... Everyday I love you more.. and more" My favorite ❤
karakun1 I'm pretty sure that they are older than me, and I'm from the 98, and I knew Mary Poppins, I mean, it's one of the biggest classics even if you don't have seen the movie
I was born after 2000, I grew up watching the Disney movies before that year ( as well as others), then again I’ve always loved the classics, Disney or not! I grew up watching Benji, Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Singin In the Rain, E.T, ( original) Adventures In Babysitting, The Karate Kid, Swiss Family Robinson, The Moon Spinners, the original Karate Kid Trilogy, The Black Stallion, That Darn Cat! (1968), Back to the Future, The Moon Spinners, Oliver!, EVERY Disney animated movie, Stand By Me, Escape from Witch Mountain, Annie (1982), Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Rudy, etc. All of those movies I grew up watching as a kid. 😊
1) Ive never seen Moulin Rouge before. But that scene really moved me... incredible. 2) Les Mis. Is just so mind blowing. The sheer emotion, talent, the story. Phenominal
Ariel Alvarez 1) Moulin Rouge was very well done...typical Baz Lurnaham (however you spell it) film but Nicole Kidman was AMAZING in it! 2) If you think the film version of Les Mis was good...See it live in stage or listen to any of the other recordings out there (preferably the 10th anniversary cast) and have your mind blown
As a french person the accenys on the words cabaret, moulin rouge and les misérables was fricking hilarious. Make other episodes like these please they're my favorites!
Come on dude! Frank Sinatra is a pretty damn good actor; he won an Oscar for From Here to Eternity and starred in the best political thriller ever, The Manchurian Candidate!
I am a huge musical fan, so this was awesome for me. It’d be awesome to have people react to recorded broadway shows! (Like Shrek, Newsies, and Falsettos!)
Ohhhhh, I loved the grins on all their faces so much throughout all of this, especially during Mary Poppins. Slightly bummed you stopped the Les Mis playthrough before One More Day got really good because I was totally singing along with Hugh and Aaron and Eddie, but I get it
If you haven't seen That Thing You Do! do yourself a favor and go watch it now! It's one of my favorite movies. I'd argue that it's a movie with music in it, and not a true musical though.
I would just like to finally say that 2 years and some change later I found this video and watched the clip of Moulin Rouge not knowing anything about it beforehand and it CATAPULTED me into a full on obsession and I just got to watch it on Broadway today. So thank you ♥️
Where the hell is The Phantom of the Opera? No Grease? No Bedknobs and Broomsticks? Not even the Phantom of the Paradise? Come on! At least, Tommy. I'll even settle for Rocky Horror Picture Show or Repo! The Genetic Opera.
I'd argue, "That Thing You Do" isn't a musical. They only play one song, repeatedly. And they don't just break out into song, they play it ad a band. So in my opinion, Great movie... Not a Musical.
Next time you do this put in classics like Sweet Charity with Shirley McLaine, Gene Kelly/Fred Astaire movies, All That Jazz, etc. The young generation needs to be introduced to classic well made musicals.
FYI for you Moulin Rouge fans: The stage (Broadway bound) adaptation is set to debut later this year with Aaron Tveit (Enjolras; Les Mis) and Karen Olivo as Christian & Satine.
PLEASE DO MORE MOVIE MUSICALS OR JUST MUSICAL THINGS IN GENERAL BECAUSE THEY'RE JUST GREAT AND I ALWAYS GET REMINDED OF THE THINGS I LOVE WHEN I WATCH THESE
Technically " THAT THING YOU DO " is not a musical movie but it is music themed and based on a Broadway play .....plays don't always have to be musicals , ya know?
Who doesn't love Aaron Tveit tbh? He is freaking amazing and wicked talented, and needs to be in more musicals so he can win a Tony!!! My love for Aaron knows no bounds! 😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Wonder why they didn't mention that the other person singing with Liza Minnelli, the Emcee, was Joel Grey, the famous father of Jennifer Frey of Dirty Dancing fame
Next time you should do Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, The Wizard Of Oz, and The Greatest Showman. You should also do just musicals like Hamilton or Heathers.
That Thing you do is not a musical. A musical is when people randomly burst into song etc, but all the songs in That thing you do are actually when the band is playing
I tend to agree, but it was technically marketed as a musical. Oh well. It was made in a time when musicals were far less common, you kinda have to scrape the barrel a little bit.
Today I learned that there are people in this world who haven’t seen Mary Poppins.
TheAwesomestAmber like me
Oh my word that just hit me reading your tweet watching it I was like how do they not know this amazing movie & then I am reading your tweet and I was WOW that’s a thing!
My poor deprived 8yo cousin hasn’t seen it, and her dads both work in show business! It’s a travesty
I wish I have

How did that kid know Guys and Dolls but not Mary Poppins?
I know Mary Poppins is so good
Maybe they listened to the choir.
That's what I'm saying 😫
kkolbuc FOR REAL!!
kkolbuc I know this isn’t what you were talking about but my sister was just in guys and dolls. I was like “Who the heck knows this one?” And I really liked it. But I just didn’t ever know in myb14 years that that was a musical
watching Moulin Rogue "aw this is so cute"... girl you have NO IDEA
I am still emotionally destroyed from that movie
Stefani G best movie ever
Right? Girl, this is a rollercoaster for your emotions and then your heart gets ripped out... but, if your like me, you love it so much you sing along and cry....
Stefani G I know right?
I got so happy when they played that scene from the film, I started to sing along "COME WHAT MAY." EEEEEeeee love Ewan McGregor's voice. Such a beautiful movie.
The two who did not know *Mary Poppins* For SHAME!!! xD
Lol I read that in Samuel Seabury’s voice omg
Sorry I was born in 2003
I think the music is good, but I'm not a big fan of Mary Poppins either. Yet my family loves it! 😂
Same thing with Moulin Rouge!!!
Dishonor on them dishoner on their cow Mary Poppins is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooogood
That Thing You Do isn't a musical at all. It's a movie about musicians. No one breaks out randomly into song, which is the Hallmark of a musical.
Fae Sutherland came here to say exactly that.
«Randomly»... Oh, how little you know about musicals...
Just let people have fun
Probably why it was the only one I'd never heard of before
Amen
I loved this episode! If you need suggestions for more musicals:
Singin' in the Rain - 1952
South Pacific - 1958
West Side Story - 1961
Fiddler on the Roof - 1971
Grease - 1971
The Rocky Horror Picture Show - 1975
Bugsy Malone - 1976
Footloose - 1984
Sweeney Todd - 2007
Singin' in the Rain was in the last (first) episode I believe.

And Phantom
South Pacific for surrreee, but also Mamma Mia
i’m sorry but whenever i think of sweeney todd i can’t help but think of the office
AfterTheWind also where’s funny girl at? It’s one of the greatest musicals of all time
They did Chicago and Fiddler on another video!
AfterTheWind never la la land

I would've added Newsies, Grease, Hairspray, and Chicago.
YES I love those
I think Newsies was used in another guess that musical movie.
Newsies (the movie) is my all time favorite musical. Does anyone know which video they had it in? I can’t find it
wishonamoonbeam It was the first Do College Kids Know Movie Musicals. It's relatively recent. You only need to go a few weeks back
Lolita Lynn Yes newsies
I love how they show Aaron Tveit right after Moulin Rouge and he’s going to be in the broadway version soon!
meangirl714 Well it's not really on broadway is it?

Where was ‘Phantom of the Opera’?
mudpuppyforlife56 exactly!!!!
fxntasyland you take that back :(
mudpuppyforlife56 i actually think the movie looks amazing but I do prefer the stage show. It’s not a bad movie but there are some things to be desired
I’ve never seen the movie but the London production is amazing
mudpuppyforlife56 it was Awful I saw it on Broadway and the movie is trash compared to it
If there's another one of these, Sweeney Todd, Phantom of the Opera, and Rocky Horror Picture Show has to be in the video.
labyrinthgirl17 I agree
“I love Aaron Tveit so much.”
GIRL ME TOO I SCREAMED
look at Mary poppins sings pink floyd part 2 on UA-cam

Super Nerd16 BEAUTIFUL!! OMG!! YES!!
OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS HOLY SHIT NO WAY
The song you showed, 'Come What May' from Moulin Rouge, is me and my wife's song. It was our first dance at our wedding and it gets me every time cuz I don't hear it that often anymore. Thanks, now I am misty eyed at my blue collar job.
That is mine and my husband's song, too!
'I love Aaron Tveit so much' MY PERMANENT MOOD

First of all: Mary Poppins is not getting a reboot BUT a sequel! Second of all: feature “Sunrise, Sunset” from Fiddler on the Roof next time!!!!
Seth Eelen with Lin Manuel Miranda. He’s happy being with Disney
YES and the matchmaker song from Fiddler on the Roof
Dang, now I have to go watch Les Mis, I have to see Newt singing in Diagon Ally.
heimby watch it
He has amazing range!!
The fact she knew who Aaron Tveit was makes me so happy
For some reason, I thought "That Thing You Do" was "Jersey Boys" Practically the same plot.
David Boucard ah I was thinking the same thing
I was like that too it looks like Jersey Boys even the costumed but that movie only came out after 2010.
except that thing you do is good.
I hadn't even heard of this musical before all tho do come from country from NZ keen to check it out tho
When I saw the red suits I thought it was Jerry boys
No one knew Cabaret??? Huh??? It’s so iconic though !!!! And Moulin Rouge come on guys another ICON
Please do Do they know Broadway Musicals
Moulin Rouge! is definitely my favourite film musical of all time. x
Mine too! The one I like the least is Phantom Of the Opera. Christine's character will never be as good as when the OG, Sarah Brightman, did it. Nicole Schwinger was close.
Come what may was played at my parents wedding 🙂
What's it about?
Kim B has to be one of my faves! Soo emotional though!! I'm so glad i saw this!!!
It's a good one, I was very impressed.
Ok we need another one with Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Greatest Showman, Chicago, Grease....

And the sound of music!
And La La Land!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
and Funny girl!
I thought for sure she was gonna say “I love Eddie Redmayne,” but then she said Aaron Tveit and YAAAAAAASSSSSS QUEEN!
Why was Rocky Horror Picture show not on here.
because they chose Cabaret for the 70s
Because it whoever came up with the quiz decided not to include it. Duh.
Its astounding
Kayla Fuller because they only picked one movie from each era
Kayla Fuller omg ft it’s my fave every 😂
Legit started crying when Moulin Rouge came up 😭
Brent Wolff same here
I cried singing along to "Come What May" :'(
I love how they probably unintentionally went from Moulin Rogue to Aaron Tveit in Les Mis, since he is going to be starring in Moulin Rogue the musical this summer in Boston
Now when I hear Moulin Rouge music, I instantly think “Awww Scott and Tessa’s fabulous ice dancing at the Olympics...”

Éponine Thenardier the transitions in that movie were so epic.
"For a lot of people, Ewan McGregor is Obi-Wan Kenobi. For me, he's the guy from Moulin Rouge."
For me, he's Mark Renton.
Who? *jk looked it up but never seen heroes*
For me he's Edward Bloom
For me he’s Lumiere
For me he is my favorite actor.
Congratulations to who decided to put Come what may just followed by the appearence of Aaron Tveit as Enjolras. Brilliant!!!
I’ve never seen Mary Poppins but even I knew that one! And Ewan’s voice in Moulin….gets me chills every time!
"Never knew... I could feel like this... Like I've never seen the sky before.... What to vanish inside your kiss... Everyday I love you more.. and more"

How the hell can anyone not know Mary Poppins!?
BeanBag343 they were either born in the year 2000 or later and didnt have music class that shows classical musical movies.
BeanBag343 not to come down on the Muslim girl, but to not know who Mary Poppins is?? Damn.
karakun1 I'm pretty sure that they are older than me, and I'm from the 98, and I knew Mary Poppins, I mean, it's one of the biggest classics even if you don't have seen the movie
I watched Marry Poppins like so many times as a kid I couldn’t even count! My Mom had to get the movie fixed that how many times I watched it!!
The clip from Moulin Rouge is so good that it gave me chills!
I legit Almost cried when they showed Moulin Rouge

No Rent? No Phantom? No Rocky Horror? Saving the good stuff for the sequel I see
1) Ive never seen Moulin Rouge before.
2) If you think the film version of Les Mis was good...See it live in stage or listen to any of the other recordings out there (preferably the 10th anniversary cast) and have your mind blown
i don't typically think of That Thing You Do as a "musical". but it was one of my first favorite movies as a kid, and I still love it so much.
As a french person the accenys on the words cabaret, moulin rouge and les misérables was fricking hilarious.
Make other episodes like these please they're my favorites!
esile xiolp
How do you pronounce miserables. I've always wondered.
Please do regular musicals! I’m literally obsessed and wanna play along with the reactors!
that minuscule clip got tears in my eyes. ewan mcgregor is so intense in that song.
Yes!! More musicals, for any generation and in any challenge format just please give us way more musicals!!
Come on dude! Frank Sinatra is a pretty damn good actor; he won an Oscar for From Here to Eternity and starred in the best political thriller ever, The Manchurian Candidate!
Owen Schnitzler Manchurian Candidate was my first thought! Frank, Janet and Angela! What a great cast!
I am a huge musical fan, so this was awesome for me.
It’d be awesome to have people react to recorded broadway shows! (Like Shrek, Newsies, and Falsettos!)
Ahhh That Thing You Do is my favorite movie of all time that was so exciting i love
Ohhhhh, I loved the grins on all their faces so much throughout all of this, especially during Mary Poppins. Slightly bummed you stopped the Les Mis playthrough before One More Day got really good because I was totally singing along with Hugh and Aaron and Eddie, but I get it
If you ever need a picture explaining the look of nostaliga: 05:02 , Brianna captures it perfectly. It's a sad joy.
Started crying as soon as the Moulin Rouge clip started!
More people need to watch “That Thing You Do”!
If you haven't seen That Thing You Do! do yourself a favor and go watch it now! It's one of my favorite movies. I'd argue that it's a movie with music in it, and not a true musical though.
The Oneders.(the wonders)
Moulin Rouge is coming to the stage with Aaron Tveit. So excited.
I know I’ve said this already, but please react to Do They Know Broadway Musicals?
I feel if Les Miserables was in there, The Phantom of the Opera just seems left out.
OK I WAS LITERALLY THINKING THE SAME EXACT THING
The movie with Gerard Butler was terrible. The casting was all wrong. The actors voices didn't match the characters
Eddie Redmayne in Les Miserables...never understood the draw until I saw him sing Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. Amazing performance.
YASS A FELLOW AARON TVEIT FAN!
YES AARON IS MY MOM
YESSSS
Brianna, the love for Aaron Tveit, I feel ya sweetie.

I never felt as old as I do now that kids can’t identify Mary Poppins
The girl that said "I love Aaron Tveit," she is my new best friend!
Where the hell is The Phantom of the Opera? No Grease? No Bedknobs and Broomsticks? Not even the Phantom of the Paradise? Come on! At least, Tommy. I'll even settle for Rocky Horror Picture Show or Repo! The Genetic Opera.
well, they cant put many musicals in one video.
When come what may came on I got tears in my eyes I love that musical and that scene is ahhhhh
My favourite movie musicals are les mis, RENT, hairspray and phantom of the opera ❤️ and was nice to see some Aaron Tveit appreciation lol
I'd argue, "That Thing You Do" isn't a musical. They only play one song, repeatedly. And they don't just break out into song, they play it ad a band. So in my opinion, Great movie... Not a Musical.
There was so many good songs in Moulin rouge, but ya had to pick the one that’s gonna make everyone cry!!!
I love Brooklin. She knows what's up
So happy that someone else was like “Aaron Tveit!”
Next time you do this put in classics like Sweet Charity with Shirley McLaine, Gene Kelly/Fred Astaire movies, All That Jazz, etc. The young generation needs to be introduced to classic well made musicals.
They barely knew Mary Poppins and Cabaret, they won't know Bob Fosse. They probably wouldn't even know, The Sound of Music.
Haha. They didn't mention Russell Crowe for Les Miserable. We're all just pretending he wasn't there. 😂
Terne Dyre Lol
no Across the Universe?
no Sweeney Todd?
no Willy Wonka?
Moulin Rouge is amazing! Let's talk about it lol
I love it. Only musical film I actually enjoy because it's so over the top. And I love the fact that they used modern pop songs.
Melito same. I remember seeing it as a little kid, but then I saw it again around age 16 and it's one of my all time favorites
FYI for you Moulin Rouge fans: The stage (Broadway bound) adaptation is set to debut later this year with Aaron Tveit (Enjolras; Les Mis) and Karen Olivo as Christian & Satine.
Iris S.Parker I’m so excited for that!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Seeing them react to RENT and/or Rocky Horror Picture Show on here would be fantastic!
PLEASE DO MORE MOVIE MUSICALS OR JUST MUSICAL THINGS IN GENERAL BECAUSE THEY'RE JUST GREAT AND I ALWAYS GET REMINDED OF THE THINGS I LOVE WHEN I WATCH THESE
That Thing You Do isn't a movie musical. It's a great movie, but it's about a band. They only sing one song.
Actually they have several.. all my only dreams was quite good. Check out the soundtrack.
Technically " THAT THING YOU DO " is not a musical movie but it is music themed and based on a Broadway play .....plays don't always have to be musicals , ya know?
I now know what Obi-Wan Kenodi did in the 19 years in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope in the Star Wars timeline
THE GIRL WHO LOVES AARON TVEIT I RELATE TO HER ON SO MANY LEVELS AHHHHHHH SHOOT ME
Who doesn't love Aaron Tveit tbh? He is freaking amazing and wicked talented, and needs to be in more musicals so he can win a Tony!!! My love for Aaron knows no bounds! 😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
I ADORE AARON TVEIT
It really saddened me how few people knew Cabaret! It’s such a classic and great fun to watch while also being an important social commentary!
Yes. Long live musicals
That moulin rouge segment was beautiful and I got chills and tears in my eyes and I've never seen it and I have to go watch it right now
it is so good, Ewan is amazing!
That Thing you do is not a musical. A musical is when people randomly burst into song etc, but all the songs in That thing you do are actually when the band is playing

moulin rouge is one of my all time favorite movies
I love how they don’t mention Russel Crowe when listing the stars of ‘Les Mis.’
We don’t need to mention that.
