How DARE they come for Ewan McGregor's singing. "No vibrato either" - girl, that ain't the standard of a good singer and vibrato's a relatively recent phenomenon. TONS of artists have straight tone. Vibrato is WAY overused in modern singing, and most of the time it's just wobble. I mean, at least LEARN TO PRONOUNCE HIS NAME before you come for him.
Izzy & Sharon are so hilarious 😂 🤣 I also appreciated more of Corey’s singing, the pipes are for real 🔥 And also happy to see more of Sylvia, she’s adorable 🥰 plus I knew most of these loving theatre growing up
16:22 "He's the one who killed all his wives" Actually two of them he killed: Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard. (If I can't keep my Musical Geek card, at least I can keep my History Buff card)
To answer about Legally Blonde. No this was not from Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search For the Next Elle Woods. It was the opening show on Broadway that was filmed and aired on MTV to reach wider audiences, similar to Hamilton on Disney+.
Clue 1, I was screaming “The wiz!” Also, I’m going to finally see Hamilton on Broadway in May for the first time and I freaked when the clue came up! Christopher Jackson’s, “Dying is easy young man, living is hard” send chills when I hear it on the soundtrack!
When Sabrina was like "I have the whole 2 hours and 19 minutes memorized" I was like "So do I, and actually it's 2 hours, 22 minutes and 26 seconds exactly" :3
I'm being a stupid geek. But "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is a movie; "The Rocky Horror Show" is the stage production. They are fairly different. There are songs that aren't in the movie, for starters.
Not one thing this week made me angrier than people guessing HERCULES for the story of ORPHEUS AND EURYDICE. Hercules and Orpheus did both vacation in the same spot once to retrieve a living(*) macguffin, though, so I understand the confusion.
i love Rocky Horror especially because i have so many memories of going to see it in the theater with my mom as a kid. my mom started taking me to see this when i was just 4 and when we lived in Florida the "cast" would always bring me up on stage' to dance with them during 'Time Warp'. i used to go at least once a month with my mom up until i was a teenager and went away for school. after i became an adult mom and i would only go a few times a year until i had my daughter. i sure miss going and wished i could expose my daughter to it like my mom did but it just doesnt play at many theaters any more & its just not as popular as it was so there arent many 'true' fans in my area as there were/are in other places. also without my mom around any more its just not the same, and my husband really doesnt understand the appeal of going. but every time i watch the movie( i own a collector's box set of the movie & album) it still brings back memories of going with my mom. RIP Maw i miss you'
The part where they got the clue ''It's a number'' and in the last clue it literally said six wives, I was banging my head on the table. (For legal reasons this is a joke and I would probably also be like this)
Not to "um actually"...but um actually it was The Rocky Horror Show when it was on (off) Broadway. They called the movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", but the show itself it The Rocky Hororr Show.
Ride the Cyclone would be a good one, it's not as well known And Mary Poppins, I saw it recently and there's new songs that aren't in the movie they could use.
@@Eerex594 i have no idea then haha. i’ve listened to/seen Hamilton, Heathers, Be More Chill, Newsies, West Side Story, In The Heights, Percy Jackson, Dear Evan Hansen, Mean Girls, & legally Blonde. all i can think of right now 🤷 but i will say, i have heard of some of the musicals mentioned in the video, i’ve just gotten around to listening to them
I wish they did more Musical Theatre videos.
sameee im starting to have more of an interest in musicals and theatre because my boyfriend is super into musicals haha
@@176gumi That is awesome! I've been doing theatre my whole life. Right now, I'm currently directing RENT in our local theatre.
Yes please!
Yes sameeeeee
Yesssss please
Corey and Izzy just guessing random numbers for Six made me legitimately laugh out loud.
16:18 Random fact: The costume designer of _Six_ is currently designing the costumes for a revival of _Starlight Express!_
I love how Corey just casually belted out those beautiful notes.
"its a modern retelling of henry the 8's six wives and it's a number" "ten?"
🤦♂️
The people criticizing Ewan McGregor's voice don't know what they're talking about.
As an ex-theater kid, you are correct. But that's true of almost anything we/they are allowed to talk about 😂
The audacity to call El Tango De Roxanne the worst song in Mouline Rouge lol
I know! My jaw literally dropped
I know. How dare she!!!!!!!
"Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim"
*Blight:* "Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?"
“Man, all the twinks in this are so good” had me rolling on the floor😂
...I like Sharon most days but her calling El Tango de Roxanne "The worst song in the movie," I went into fight mode.
I feel like the better clip for that is Aaron Tveit on Broadway, so much stronger of a performance imo
HOW DARE SHARON SAY "EL TANGO DE ROXANNE" IS THE WORST SONG IN MOULIN ROUGE. BLASPHEMY.
well the movie one is okay but the broadway version is AMAZING AND I LOVE IT
How DARE they come for Ewan McGregor's singing. "No vibrato either" - girl, that ain't the standard of a good singer and vibrato's a relatively recent phenomenon. TONS of artists have straight tone. I can't do a vibratto and I love you
"I love the slime tutorial version of this video" 😂 theatre kid private joke here !!
The fact that when I saw "Dying is easy, young man" I mentally screamed Hamilton (because I'm not alone)
>Roxanne comes on
"worst song in the movie"
probably everyone else in the theater audience: 😱
12:58 "Man, all the twinks in this are so good"
I CAN'T
😂
I know lea Michelle has a personality that bites...
But seeing her in Funny Girl in real life when she did it in Glee is just awesome lol
“She might not be able to read, but the girls can sing” 💀
'Prince of Egypt? 🥺'
I AM DECEASED 💀💀💀
"Orpheus and Eruydice"
Them: hErCuLeS
Izzy & Sharon are so hilarious 😂 🤣
I also appreciated more of Corey’s singing, the pipes are for real 🔥

You beat me to it.yet I will keep my geek card 😅
But can we all agree that Henry VIII was objectively a psychopath?
@@andrewlevin7586 "objectively"? He *was* a monster to his wives, daughters, and friends.
OH MY GOD FINALLY SOMEONE USED THE WIZ!!!
Corey has a voice of an ANGEL!! Such a beautiful voice! 😇
I was ready to fight when they were coming after Ewan!
The Wiz knew how to properly reimagine a classic, and do it right. 💜
I would DIE for a Jermey Jordan musical video 😭
SAME SAME SAME OMG
To answer about Legally Blonde. No this was not from Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search For the Next Elle Woods. It was the opening show on Broadway that was filmed and aired on MTV to reach wider audiences, similar to Hamilton on Disney+.
17:35. “Strong and wrong but I knew what you meant” 😂😂😂😂😂 I can’t wait to use this in real life 💀💀💀
The Cats movie is perfectly fine if you just close your eyes and pretend like you're just listening to a cast recording lol
Clue 1, I was screaming “The wiz!” Also, I’m going to finally see Hamilton on Broadway in May for the first time and I freaked when the clue came up! Christopher Jackson’s, “Dying is easy young man, living is hard” send chills when I hear it on the soundtrack!
OH I need to see that
WORST SONG IN THE MOVIE, SHARON?! EL TANGO DE ROXXANE IS AMAZING, and maybe even my favorite. TAKE THAT BACK.
The problems with Cats (2019) is it wasnt meant to be a movie. Its a stage production, seeing the show in person is a part of what made Cats great.
When Sabrina was like "I have the whole 2 hours and 19 minutes memorized" I was like "So do I, and actually it's 2 hours, 22 minutes and 26 seconds exactly" :3
The fact that hadestown is a college course astounds me and I am glad it is so iconic and classic already.
Corey can SING!
7:55 There is a Toy Story Musical actually! It doesn't exist anymore but it was a musical on one of the Disney cruise ships
I couldn’t help but feel some of these choices were a little disappointing - especially as there are so many legendary musicals out there
I just wanna be friends with Dani! Lol the passion for musicals is the kind of energy I need in my life
Right there with you! Love the vibe.
literally burst out laughing when Corey says Macbeth instead of Six
Ratatouille the musical: the proof that things got strange in 2020... hahaha
I paid $25 to watch that musical!
More musical theater! West Side, Fiddler, so many classics!
I’m sorry did Sharon just say El Tango de Roxanne is the WORST SONG from the movie version of Moulin Rouge?!
I know right???
Did she just say that she didn't like Hamilton?
I'm being a stupid geek. But "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is a movie; "The Rocky Horror Show" is the stage production. They are fairly different. There are songs that aren't in the movie, for starters.
Yes, and they said both names. Tim Curry was also in both as well.
It’s hard to believe some of them really are theatre kids hahahah
when these people don't like ewan's singing: *sharpens knife*
I love the musical episodes! Also shout out to Alexandra for the shirt!!! The Producers is one of my FAVORITE SHOWS
I met the creator of the Rocky Horror Picture show a few years ago. The strangest person ever but an absolute laugh.
Izzy's laugh is EVERYTHING.
THE WHITE CHRISTMAS REFERENCE IN THE BEGINNING IS GOLD
Not one thing this week made me angrier than people guessing HERCULES for the story of ORPHEUS AND EURYDICE. Hercules and Orpheus did both vacation in the same spot once to retrieve a living(*) macguffin, though, so I understand the confusion.
Followed only by Macbeth as the retelling of Henry VIII's wives.
Or when one said ‘prince of Egypt’ for Hadestown🙃
i knew Cats, Hadestown and Hamilton (i've seen Hamilton live twice (saw it in Detroit and Toronto in 2019 and 2023 respectively, it was incredible)
Maybe she's a Sting purist and that's why she thinks El Tango de Roxanne is the "worst song", because otherwise that's just blasphemy.
Absolutely
i love Rocky Horror especially because i have so many memories of going to see it in the theater with my mom as a kid. my mom started taking me to see this when i was just 4 and when we lived in Florida the "cast" would always bring me up on stage' to dance with them during 'Time Warp'. i used to go at least once a month with my mom up until i was a teenager and went away for school. after i became an adult mom and i would only go a few times a year until i had my daughter. i sure miss going and wished i could expose my daughter to it like my mom did but it just doesnt play at many theaters any more & its just not as popular as it was so there arent many 'true' fans in my area as there were/are in other places. also without my mom around any more its just not the same, and my husband really doesnt understand the appeal of going. but every time i watch the movie( i own a collector's box set of the movie & album) it still brings back memories of going with my mom. That is such a lovely memory! I'm tearing up at the thought of going with my Mom, RIP also.
Just went to one yesterday, with people (including me) squirting water and rice at the crowd and it was just simply amazing! Note: I'm in NZ
Wish there were older ones! I can't believe more of them didn't get Into The Woods right away... classic...
I cant read "This is ridiculous what am I doing here I'm in the wrong story" WITHOUT singing it. I'll never get it wrong. Love Into The Woods.
I'm so glad I got most of them right since I majored in Theatre Studies LMAO Corey and Dani have some nice voices. "I Wan McGregor"
I love this. Please do more musical theatre 🎭.
I'm with you, Sylvia. Having social anxiety and knowing what they do to "Virgins" is exactly why I refuse to go to Rocky Horror screenings.
When I went for the first time over a decade ago I just didn’t say anything lol
I know Sharon did not just say Roxanne was the worst song in moulin Rouge
Dani was LIVING for this entire thing
Roxanne is my favorite song in the whole movie
There’s so many more musicals out there. Definitely need a Round 2 and Round 3 videos
Um actually, the musical theatre version is Rocky Horror Show. Rocky Horror picture Show is the movie.
The part where they got the clue ''It's a number'' and in the last clue it literally said six wives, I was banging my head on the table. (For legal reasons this is a joke and I would probably also be like this)
Nor did they guess 8 for that matter XD
Gaten as Jack is the cutest thing I've ever seen! I already knew he could sing but this is just precious.
4:40 gonna be a nerd... erm technically it was 1981
but yes its correct if your talking about broadway but originally it was 81 in england
i need a part two with heathers, chicago and in the heights and the addams family pleaseeeeee
Poor 80s/90s musicals getting the cold shoulder :) No Rent? No Les Mis? No Miss Saigon? No Phantom? No Charlie Brown? Sad times :)
Looking back, there are a few 80s musicals here..I'm just too quick to judge when my faves don't show up :)
@@joshuathompson2404 So, you're an idiot?
Love the camaraderie during the whole vidéo but this moment is just incredible 08:39 😭
Sylvia’s confessions about Moulin Rouge are my favourite thing😂😂
Not to "um actually"...but um actually it was The Rocky Horror Show when it was on (off) Broadway. They called the movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", but the show itself it The Rocky Hororr Show.
This part ⬆️
Lmao I see another Dropout fan!
"Um Actually"s are always a welcome sight! 😍🥰
Did they just commented "No vibrato" for McGregor singing his heart out?
He gave everything and it was fantastic. Period.
saying that rocky horror is bad is such a hot take
Please do another one of these but include heathers, beetle juice, hairspray, Annie, Matilda, the greatest showman, wicked, and mama mia
Ride the Cyclone would be a good one, it's not as well known
And Mary Poppins, I saw it recently and there's new songs that aren't in the movie they could use.
Omg! I’m so happy that someone finally used the Wiz🙌🏾😭
Sharon and Dani are so fun to watch together!
Danny, Corey and Sylvia have great voices😩😩
Sharon missed the opprortunity to say she would be the Shar-crow
For the next one, please include Wicked, Les Mis and Rent 💙
The disrespect to Tim Curry in Annie, also a musical. As well as Muppets Treasure Island. 😮💨😂
NO WAY DID SHE CALL EL TANGO DE ROXANNE 'THE WORST SONG'
ITS AMAZING WHAT
Yesss
Technically the broadway version is the Rocky Horror Show
The stage version is "The Rocky Horror Show". Only the MOVIE is titled "The Rocky Horror Picture Show".
Was about to say this😂
I always forget that 😂
Corey such a vocalist and Izzy a musical queen
Oof Silvia's confession at 14:47 😭😂
I got six and Hamilton immediately and started singing too
Yall need a series for this oMG
I need a second one
I low key wish you had added EPIC: The musical, it deserves the recognition. 😆
Just a shout out: Someone I went to high school with is making his broadway debut in Moulin Rouge in October!
That’s awesome!
This exact group of reactors should do the 2023 version of Eurovision 🤩
i’ve been really into musical theatre the past 3 years and i only knew 2 of these man💀 ig i just listen to more modern musicals😭

Before anything gets started, I LOVE Alexandra’s shirt. One of my favorite musicals of all time
I luv Izzy's hairdo and Corey's voice and Sharon's luv of Scarecrow!!
CAN I TELL I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN THIS VIDEO POPPED UP LIKE THERE DOING MUSICALS
I wish they used “agony” from the Disney adaptation. It was so iconic.
I saw HadesTown live and it was so beautiful omg
