  • A trick to make the clutch lever for KTM 390 bikes feel less wobbly and more precise. This fix applies to all bikes with this kind of issue. No need to buy aftermarket lever. Simply add a 0.5mm shim in the stock lever.

i've had a similar idea. although after replacing the lever the movement is still there, I've found its not as bad on a after market part but they've left too big of a gap. So i'll be doing this as well

Just don’t make it too tight. I tried the clutch lever on many brand new bikes and most are quite loose from the factory for safety reasons.

    Optimal shim thickness is 0.5mm-0.6mm

Thanks for this. Aside from the thickness. What size washer works? My wobbly clutch it’s driving me nuts.

I don't have an exact size for you as I sold the bike I fixed it with, but I just took an approximately fitting washer that i had laying around in my garage and filed that sucker down to size. You can just pick one up in Home Depot for a few cents. Disassemble the lever and see for yourself. It's super easy to do.

Ah found something that might help. I used a washer #14S and filed it to the correct thickness of 0.5mm-0.6mm

Do you just put one on top og the lever between the space of the housing?
