I love how Steve goes back and forth between sounding like a backwoods Michigander and sounding like an articulate author with what must be a righteously high IQ. It’s clear that neither are a put-on, so it almost sounds like 2 different people in the same brain
I do full-time rideshare and always have a podcast playing, and Rinella is my goto a huge chunk of the time. One of the most listenable dudes in Joe's library
I work in the construction industry and the “wow” moment first hits you when the framing goes up, but doesn’t set in fully until the structure is finished.
I’ve learned so much thanks Joe and Steve! Been watching Meateater and it fucking rocks! Also bought the book for my brother and it looks amazing. Going to buy 1 for me and my step pops next 🤙🏼
I'm from West Milford. That bear got hit by a car, and that's why he walks like that. He's a town celebrity. He lived a long time. There was a rumor he was killed in a hunt, but people got video of him after that was suggested. The bear survived for years as far as I know and always walked on his hind legs. Awesome podcast as always. I don't know anyone waking a trap line in NJ! Haha. I had have-a-hearts growing up, but don't think that counts. Maybe in the Pine Barrens down south people trap?
I know this is older post but I vacuum packed a deer back strap with the date it went into the freezer, in the years ahead added lots of game meat, found back strap seven years later trimmed out a little it was excellent no freezer burn
Please stop changing the camera shots and angles! In this episode you have them setup for close shots (shoulders and up). We cannot see Joe or the guest talking with their hands most of the time. This turns the show into what looks like an interview rather than a conversation. Please set up the cameras for a mid shot (waist and up, or in this case table and up). Also, Joe is too far on the right side of the frame. Refer to JRE #539. Thanks!
YES, I was just watching the new episodes of Meateater thinking, Joe should get Steve Rinella back on. Then hot damn there it is. Awesome. Just got my gun license earlier this year and I'm planning to do some hunting this season mostly inspired by Steve and him being on this podcast. Thanks guys!
Can you please update me on how you are doing? What are the side effects and your issues day to day? Recently someone in my friend circle got this and it seems terrible. I am going to eat a full raw lime to raise awareness :) I just need to get more aware myself. Thank you so much.
Older post I know. Just had to comment on Lyme disease and so called doctors. Twenty years ago on a hunting trip got tick bite, next day red rash didn't think much about it, two days later filling body aches slight feverish. Thee days later stiff neck big time. At this point knew something was very wrong, read up on symptoms of stiff neck and Lyme disease came up,went to doctor he told me It's all in my mind, I had to almost threaten him and he finally OK the antibiotics. After two days of antibiotics everything started going away. If you know something is wrong with you you have to stand up to your doctor!!!
Listening to this playing RDR2 and as Steve is talking about walrus hunting; the trapper (gus) in the game said "Did I ever tell you about the time I was hunting walrus on the unimek?" I just about shit my pants.
Talking about animals traveling we've just had a bear here in the north western part of the Texas panhandle west of Amarillo about 1 and a half .. we've had a few mountain lions. And somehow a elk made it's way to clay county Texas..
Just for the record, you can trap bear in Maine legally as a fur bearer. Only one per year but it can be done. It uses a snare type foot hold. Not your traditional jawed bear trap style. I love joe and Steve Rinella. Love to hear more. 👍👍
DirtMcGirt BBJ yep! :) sorry! Just pointing it out... I like the good stuff. But im watching the show right now... I will post if i like it. I Found him on one of Alex Jones's UA-cam interviews.
Although 720p HD is the bare minimum to listen to high fidelity audio because jootube loves to rape quality in its encoding, because of the length of the podcasts that have both audio and video, Redban gives preference to audio quality over visual quality, so 480p is sufficient for almost 3 hour videos to have sufficient audio quality over video which is less important here.
Speaking on Lyme disease, I also had a dr refuse to believe I had lyme, even after I told him and showed him my evidence. He was a foriegn doctor, who had no experience with it and literally laughed in my face and claimed it was just a rash. My family doctor comes back and immediately agrees with me, as he is an american outdoorsman such as my self. He called that doctor into the room, enraged and yelled at this man never to discredit a patient and to thoroughly investigate all possibilities. The foreign doctor offered no apology and simply walked away. It was unreal
Awe fuck yes! I was just thinking I'd like to hear Steve on again. Way to read my mind! Haven't even listened to this show but I know it's gonna be awesum!
`Joe. I say this honestly. You open my mind to a lot of things I hate; such as hunting for example, But even though I disagree with a lot of what you and your guest do or are into, I appreciate the invite into a world I otherwise would never understand. Yours, a normal understanding human being. :)
watched one of these with him where joe talked about chicks dressed like hunters for likes with tight clothes ect ect then watched an episode of meat eater and joe was wearing the tightest camo outfit you could imagine lmao
Possible Unlikely I like him too. The Fighter & The Kid is a really good podcast. I've even listened to Bryan's own podcast. But I love when the fellas call him on his shit.
Callen & redband are very cringy, for diff reasons ... its difficult to listen to 'em particularly when callen drunk & tryin to get acceptance from a fellow guest who's superior to him, (although the last bit is not saying much)
Mr. Rogan, Mr. Rinella have either of you seen the film, “Day of the Dolphin “ with George C. Scott? A great fictional film dealing with dolphin/human communication.
Steven is one of my absolute favorite guest!
mine too for sure
Same here
He's def in my top 5, which is odd because I don't hunt and that's mostly what they discuss. Interesting though.
Did you also enjoy Adam Greentree? Australia's Rinella haha.
Taming the Life Greentree was cool, but Rinella is the coolest.
I love how Steve goes back and forth between sounding like a backwoods Michigander and sounding like an articulate author with what must be a righteously high IQ. It’s clear that neither are a put-on, so it almost sounds like 2 different people in the same brain
That is why I really like Steve Rinella.
Whenever anyone asks what a Michigan accent sounds like I point them to Rinella.
I do full-time rideshare and always have a podcast playing, and Rinella is my goto a huge chunk of the time. One of the most listenable dudes in Joe's library
Because someone can’t be both...
Awww it's so cute how Joe and Steve have become such good friends. CUUUUUUUTE!
I'm listening to all the Rinella episodes back to back and he tells that old elk in the freezer story multiple times and the age changes.
Who?
That's because it's a different year each time he is on JRE
That’s basically every hunting and fishing story lol
yeah, so time exists. Right?
@@ohsweatbret really? 🤣 i dont think so
This dude is the man... I like how he pauses and contemplates his words very carefully
"Knocked my dick in the dirt bad" ... definitely going to add that into my regular use phrases.
Even for 2014, 360p seems weird
Bring Steven Rinella back more!
Just watched an episode of MeatEater. This dude's not just a hunter; pretty good cook, too. Good show. Might need to start hunting...
hunting men
Have you become a hunter in the last half decade?
Sam Fisher I hope so
How’s your hunting going ?
@@TheFrankHuda Did you mean for that to sound as gay as it came across?
Joe has such a man crush...who wouldn't Rinella rocks
I want to hunt with Rinella
That would be amazing. We can only hope he'll take up guiding when he's an older man.
Bill beautiful poem bill.
u couldn't handle it little man
I wanna hunt with him too but not for pandas...lol
who doesnt
I just pictured a scientist sitting in a isolation tank fried on acid listening to dolphins talk.
Frank Hudacek i hope you at least got a chuckle out of your own joke, because no one else is going to 🤷🏼♂️
Frank Hudacek hahahhaha 😂
Dont forget about the ketamine
YESSS!!!! these are my favourite ones, the ones that got me into the podcast.
18:17 third podcast I've heard Rinella talk about wolves eating rotten salmon lol
Consistency of puddin'?
This is like probably the only podcast I've bothered to watch in the past month or more. I feel like I could listen to Rinella read the phone book.
31:44 "They're killing a whale while it's alive."
Hard to kill anything that's not alive
"That's how most killing happens "
Something about Rinella's voice is comforting to listen to, a man with a more simple upbringing than my own perhaps.
Did you have a complicated upbringing?
It is called sexual attraction...
MetusBatman Black I've considered this.
Dude grew up about 45 minutes from where i live in Michigan.
yeah def gay bro
I work in the construction industry and the “wow” moment first hits you when the framing goes up, but doesn’t set in fully until the structure is finished.
As a hunter, I find a lot of value in the conversations you have with Steve about hunting and conservation. Glad you caught the fever, Joe!
This day just improved. Steve is a cool ass dude.
steve is such a cool guy
Steve is absolutely the best @rogan guest ever. Period.
Steve definitely needs to become a long time regular guest. Conversation is always incredibly fascinating, even for a non-hunter.
9:40 freak bitches
the underwear commercial was really good though
***** yeah sometimes the commentaries before the beginning of the podcast are really good
why fuck around!
YEEEESSSS! Been waiting for a new episode with Steve! One of by favorite guests of all time.
very entertaining podcast, Steven is always awesome!!
Hell yeah, awesome shoutout to John C. Lilly! He truly was a visionary.
the trichonosis story is the best ever
I see Steve going out like Tristan from "Legends of the Fall".
Ive never hunted or trapped a day in my life but i love podcasts with Rinella
A true master of his craft. Really enjoyed listening to Steven Rinella. He makes me want to hunt!
The Modern Man podcast. Joe Rogan.
always the bestdiscussion with Rinella
You can always tell the amount of respect Joe has for a person by the amount of time he lets them speak..
Excellent podcast.
I’ve learned so much thanks Joe and Steve! Been watching Meateater and it fucking rocks! Also bought the book for my brother and it looks amazing. Going to buy 1 for me and my step pops next 🤙🏼
Steven is fascinating and even Rogan finds him so
Definitely one of my favorite ones. This guy has an amazing voice no homo.
this guy is awesome I've seen him on nat geo would love to have this guy on the show again

I've eaten and served 8 year old frozen deer. still has good as the year old stuff just stuff I never gotten around to eating it
I know this is older post but I vacuum packed a deer back strap with the date it went into the freezer, in the years ahead added lots of game meat, found back strap seven years later trimmed out a little it was excellent no freezer burn

Rinella's such a smart dude. Thanks for the show joe
Yo I love this guy. I'm glad he's on the podcast again.
Steve and Joe - legends.
Great Podcast! Love when Joe has people on that know about the wilderness, very interesting.

What is a good beginner bow?
Lyme disease awareness!!! Thanks buddy! I also have Lyme and it destroyed my life 5 years ago. It was nice to randomly come upon this.
Can you please update me on how you are doing? What are the side effects and your issues day to day? Recently someone in my friend circle got this and it seems terrible. I am going to eat a full raw lime to raise awareness :) I just need to get more aware myself. Thank you so much.

Listening to this playing RDR2 and as Steve is talking about walrus hunting; the trapper (gus) in the game said "Did I ever tell you about the time I was hunting walrus on the unimek?"
I just about shit my pants.
Covid-19 traveler was here.
When im hunting in old farm areas i always look out for traps
i read up a bit on trichinellosis and the worms are called trichinella worms no joke lol kinda ironic rinella got trichinella worms
Hahahaha 1:40 Jo " who the fuck is eating polar bear and walrus".
Fuck ya Steve is back!
LOL that Alaska trip dont go so well boys
You guys should do another Steve rinella soon
Talking about animals traveling we've just had a bear here in the north western part of the Texas panhandle west of Amarillo about 1 and a half .. we've had a few mountain lions. And somehow a elk made it's way to clay county Texas..
I just googled how to kill triganosis and the CDC says that cooking does not consistently kill it they say to freeze it for 20 days at 5 degrees.
Just for the record, you can trap bear in Maine legally as a fur bearer. Only one per year but it can be done. It uses a snare type foot hold. Not your traditional jawed bear trap style. I love joe and Steve Rinella. Love to hear more. 👍👍
"I was reading this book on Al Sharpton" "Why would you do that? Was it written in crayon?" Ahhahaha! 2:12
Steve told the old elk/brother waste aversion story and said the Elk in the freezer was 7years old in another episode.
Where is the 720 copy? Also the bottom half of the "JOE BOGAN EXPERIENCE' is cut off?!
yOu must be new here.
DirtMcGirt BBJ yep! :) sorry! Just pointing it out... I like the good stuff. But im watching the show right now... I will post if i like it. I Found him on one of Alex Jones's UA-cam interviews.
bladkingz
Don't sweat the small stuff. A general lack of both professionalism and attention to detail is a big part of this show's charm.
Although 720p HD is the bare minimum to listen to high fidelity audio because jootube loves to rape quality in its encoding, because of the length of the podcasts that have both audio and video, Redban gives preference to audio quality over visual quality, so 480p is sufficient for almost 3 hour videos to have sufficient audio quality over video which is less important here.
bladkingz learn how to spell fatass
Thank God no more bullshit paid advertising. 9 min of it !! Steve is a bad ass dude. Love it when he's on.
2:17:00 Hell yeah, Joe.
my mum walked in at the jerking off dolphins part lol
When you wrote this you were 4 years younger...crazy

Best podcast in a while
He is such a Charakter. I love his stories
this was one of my favorites for sure. great discussions.
Awe fuck yes! I was just thinking I'd like to hear Steve on again. Way to read my mind! Haven't even listened to this show but I know it's gonna be awesum!
I pull my pants down past the barrel when I'm alone and fart big.
Lol
everything goes so much smoother with young Jaime
@Chris WNC okay at least this oneis from 1 year ago
That dolphin research became infamous. It’s even mentioned in rooster teeth animated shorts which has no background in weird science.
Steven Rinella is awesome! Id love to go hunting with him!
2:00 now I have the munchies
An episode without Jamie?! When did he join as a member/staff/producer?
Is it just me or does Steven look like Jonathan Toews? Captain of the Chicago BlackHawks.
Adam Slobodian they're actually the same person
He looks like a smarter, thinner, and more lax Jim Bruer
`Joe. I say this honestly. You open my mind to a lot of things I hate; such as hunting for example, But even though I disagree with a lot of what you and your guest do or are into, I appreciate the invite into a world I otherwise would never understand. Yours, a normal understanding human being. :)
Great Show, love Steves work, I would love it if you brought him back on.
is there any chance we will see georges st pierre on the podcast again or nick diaz??
I fall asleep to the sound of rinella's deep cracked voice, so soothing and relaxing, feels like my ears are being cuddled by a big teddy bear x)
Want to learn about trapping here is the best channel to watch
Duncan, where are you?
yes
Everyday Im Trusselin'.
He's not well. Bout of depression at the moment but he's getting by with a little help from his friends.
Love RINELLA!!!
10 years with it, now systemic.
F-Ing doctors didn't do shit but steal my money.
Hunting and fishing is the only thing that distracts from the pain.
Damon Curtin
That’s so fucked up sorry to hear it. If shit happens to you and medicine is what you need to get out of a fix , that is usually
It would be awesome for Joe to get James on from Metallica. I'm sure he's got some crazy stories to share!
Cosmosis you're in for a treat
watched one of these with him where joe talked about chicks dressed like hunters for likes with tight clothes ect ect then watched an episode of meat eater and joe was wearing the tightest camo outfit you could imagine lmao
"Brian Callen couldnt make it"
Sweet so im actually gonna watch this one!
Callen bashing...it's awesome!
not bashing. i like him when its just him and joe. but he kinda takes over when someone else is on.
Possible Unlikely
I like him too. The Fighter & The Kid is a really good podcast. I've even listened to Bryan's own podcast. But I love when the fellas call him on his shit.
Callen & redband are very cringy, for diff reasons

Please have on Ryan Derlago from stickflingers.
Hate the commercials way too long!
I want a man to look at me the same way Joe looks at Steve at 11:01
yeah, that's a solid guy.
jizzed abit when i saw the name, fucking love meatEater, seen every episode so far :P
I've seen a wolverine!! Hiking in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Man time traveled from the year 2024.. this is wild
Mr. Rogan, Mr. Rinella have either of you seen the film, “Day of the Dolphin “ with George C. Scott? A great fictional film dealing with dolphin/human communication.
Camera.op for Extreme Big Game hunting. Dream job.
i have gay dreams about joe rogan
Smokey Rockwell Good ?
Bill tell them bill.
