- Today we look at the last Tales game of the 6th console genration (not including remakes) and one of the best Tales games of its time, Tales of the Abyss. With the series 10th anniversary of the series well underway Team Symphonia would attempt to replicate their sucsess with their first 3D Tales game to make another 3D Tales game that was even bigger and batter than Symphonia. Can they pull it off?

Out all the tales of game tales of the abyss story hit me on a emotional level you won’t believe the satisfaction I felt after completing the game
tales of the abyss is awesome back in 2011, when kirbys adventure wii came also out i get the game on the 3ds finally
3ds for me as a european release for the first time. on november 25, 2011 it was my first game on the 3ds
so? this works also for 3ds owners
tales of the abyss i got as my first 3ds game. and beat it 2 times.
tales of the abyss has 8 battle tracks.
1. arrow was shot (arc 1
2. edge of a decition arc 2
3. never surrender arc 3
4. awkward justice during fights with your rivals the six god generals.
5. fang witch want blood, this track plays during boss battles with beasts and evil creatures, and with the sword dancer in 3 search points during the story and also with nebilim, the secret arena boss. (great ccapacity core if you beat her.
6 vandesdeelca 1. plays in the abzorption gate for the first time vs. van grants the brother of tear and your mentor. playes also in part 2 van final battle form 1.
7 moz if he is a monster.
8 finish the prommis van grants form 2 that ends with a mystic arte during the full seven part of the fonic song.
Abyss is not only my favorite tales of but one of my favorite games. I Know It has a lot of problems but man It is fun to play The music is good the story speaks to me and characters like Jade and Luke are also on my top characters of all time.
Well I think I expressed how much i enjoy the game by now , happy that you did It justice in this series and thanks for Your hard work on these like always.
Also the gag at the end was simply comedy gold💀
Just finished this game last week (after trying to for 8 years lol) and I loved it soooooo much! It really feels like the most heart felt of the Tales games I've played. I loved your input, and structure! Nice work, well said!
I wouldnt say he becomes insufferable for no reason; neat the end he gets what seems to me a massive title of ambassador when he's felt neglected the entire time before hand. Got a big head from that for sure
In addition, he did also finally meet back up with Van it was basically his comfort person so he could be mega spoiled

as an europens alow me to badmouth the series. should they have released their games here Tales would have been much more sucessful.

My brother and I are big Tales fans but we tend to ignore the divided views on newer entries.

I always pronounced it like "Mottoy"
I had played Phantasia and Symphonia before Abyss, but this was the true gateway drug to the series for me. Symphonia just felt like a rehash of Phantasia plotwise and I am not a fan of the character designs or personalities either. Abyss really nailed it with the characters and their arcs and combat was more fun than ever (albeit horribly broken as well) and the music as you said was excellent. The pacing and cutscene directing ain't that great in the 2nd half at times but the finale more than makes up for it. It could certainly use a re-release, we shall see if Bamco comes to their senses in regards to those.
phantasia and destiny 2 (the real one, not the renamed Eternia) are the best games in the tales universe. End of story.
I really liked the early game, ignorant, jerk Luke was so funny. But quickly the story just became annoying with fonon nonsense, and the Abyss.
Symphonia slapped though, Lloyd and Zelos were so fun to play as, Lloyd was generally an entertaining protagonist and Zelos is one of the best RPG characters period.
This games combat looks quite similar to Symphonia
As I said, the same team made this game. If I had to sum the combat up I would say its Symphonia but faster and with the abilty to move latterally using free run.
@@xenosanctum2531isn't that basically Vesperia then? I actually thought Vesperia was a lot better than Symphonia tho so maybe not
I wish this game wasn't locked away on 3DS or Japanese version ps2. I don't emulate because everytime I try to download a rom I get spanned with redirects and dodgy downloads
@@nezkeys79 Vesperia is a bit slower and more complecated than Abyss.
There is a US verion of Abyss PS2 if you live in an NTSC region.
@@xenosanctum2531I'm in the UK sadly (and also don't speak Japanese) so lots of tales games are inaccessible for me outside emulation
I would emulate if it weren't so difficult. Rom sites seems infested with adware/viruses, controllers never work, struggling to locate files or knowing where to place them etc. I recently tried to do PCSX on pc and didn't get very far since didnt have programs to read the bios file and when I tried the "search internet for applications to open this file" it was a broken link, so I gave up
I don't really like playing tales games on handhelds either so that's why I have avoided Eternia (psp) and Abyss (3DS)

Are these fofs anything like the elements that were used in symphonia 2? You had to change the elements on the battlefield there too. Despite loving the combat I disliked that part of it
Kind of but in Symphonia 2 they were a gauge which only affected special attacks unlike here where their on the field and affect specific artes.
the beginning of the end of the tales series. Anything after legendia is blah.
I mean they had to make up for the shitshow that was Legendia.
yes, 1 mystic arte, you have to do 200 moves, you must be at low helth. then during the arcane arte in overlimit, hoald.. a, b and y. sorry ps2 i dont know.
