You guys are really on point this episode.
This is your best video yet! Please more of this kind of format of open discussion rather than one topic or a list of things. There is a wealth of knowledge in just hearing you two bug out about what motivates you to make the decisions you make when you play. It’s amazing to have this available on UA-cam. Thank you guys, so much.
I connected with that comment from Peter toward the end about starting a line with some outside notes on an upbeat. I said to myself, It's not only what you play, but when you play it." Something clicked and I was immediately more able to find places for notes with more "outside" flavors. Great lesson in all, great playing by both of you, and hilarious, too.
A way to practice the timing you are talking about at 13:19 is to count out lout 1 & 2 & and so on and meanwhile playing the line you are practicing! Hard but rewarding in a long run
Love the pint of beam Peter, shows you're a humble man.
Giant Steps = GS = Great Sh*t. I get it
Ahhhhhhh 🙈🙈🙊🙉🤯😱😮🤟🍌
Ha! That’s fun!
It's nice to see you havin fun. :)
Peter absolutely fucking shredded on this one
Adam is a beast trading with peter like this. I wish I could hang out and talk piano for a week with either but they would get bored with my vanilla playing
Ok... don’t go to far... you guys are dangerously exuding the joy of jazz.
I love the bottle of Jim Beam in the back on the shelf? LOL!!! Not my cup of tea but interesting. And those subliminal (not really) John Coltrane GS's. Thank you gents for the post.
6:54 When Adam says "Oooooh!" after Peter's lick and he slides into the pitch hahaha
The slick lick ;-)
Ahahahha
I thought on the C7 Adam was just quoting Oscar Pettifords " Blues On the Corner.". I like the breakdown of: This is the chord I'm on, this is the scale or scales I'm thinking of, and here's the application of it. Over a UA-cam video, its really the only way a student can get it. Thanks and great episode.
You guys makin' me cry with that sh*t
I associate that main 4-3 lick with Blues in the Closet and also one of Wynton Marsalis’ signature lines
i really love this stuff guys, thanks for this
Awesome video, find this style very helpful
Best frickin' intro
looking forward to those left hand s#%t videos in the future!
Just gotta practice dat great sh#%
Just 7.6k views to all this GOLD🥇 ?!?!?!
Everyone here should tell a friend and tell a friend to tell a friend. This is how you get this gen and the next playing great or at least understanding sophisticated music!
How comes Adam is doing the custom grow 420 introduction here, had me dead laughing :D
Yall are some cool cats!!!
Play that flat five to four on your Volvo, “ it doesn’t matter” but save the “ light bright blues“ for your fiat 500.
All day. Every day!!!
Can you guys play in all keys equally as good?
I can't. They obviously can. I would love to know some every day tips to get interested in exercising over all keys...!
@@giaguaroturchinoYOY the easiest way to get comfortable in other keys is to play things you already know, like a lick or a short phrase, and run it through different keys. you can also learn tunes in different keys - it's quite difficult at first, but it really trains your ears to think about intervallic relationships and all that more than trying to mentally transpose everything.
yess guys
I feel like getting the keys under my fingers right now...really some GS
love these videos… i’m a guitarist
Great video
When do get to drink the Jim Beam?😀
they already did, its actually a piss bottle now
Hahahahahahah the great shit bit is hilarious
Nice “Shite”
JAM ON!!!! 😎🎩😎🎩
Who gave this video a 👎🏻? I’d be interested in watching their videos to see what they offer that Adam and Peter don’t.
Around 5'30'' I hear some "return from forever"
*to
Hi, how would you count all of those bars in So What while improving? Thanks
12:53 Is the hardest part of the lesson.
Sorry, can’t follow this one. This needs to be shown on sheet music
Honestly, most of this goes over my head but it is so inspiring nonetheless. Working through your classes online now -- great stuff!
Play the whole tune all the way through a few times then go back and analize the tune, instead of a few bars here and there.
Sweet Georgia Brown "A" section, uh huh.
👌
Y’all need a video with davie504
Why censor a word everyone knows? ...other than that, it’s a joy watching and learning :-)
UA-cam monetization
Well whatever the reason they bleeped out the “s” word, I thought it was pretty hilarious the way they did it. Really interesting to get inside their heads and see how they approach soloing. Both monster players! Thanks Adam and Peter. Always enjoy your videos and thanks so much for taking the time to make them.
