Looks good !! Personally I would have tried the hops with a yeast that you are already familiar with. The same with trying the new yeast, try it in a lager recipe that you are familiar with. I'm planning to try Nova lager in an all grain next week. The plan is to pitch and ferment at the lower end at about 12-13°c in a pressure fermenter with no pressure till it gets to about 1.025 then start spunding to achieve carbonation before a short lagering. I'm going for the lower temperature so that the fermentation is slow enough so I don't miss the point where I need to start spunding.🍻🍻
Great video, mate. I’m keen to do a lager but the prospect of having my fermenting fridge tied up for a long period of time isn’t super appealing. It looks like Novalager could be the way to go. Cheers!
Thanks G., I fancied doing another Lager but they never turned out like a "Lager". more of a light coloured ale, so...I'm going give it another go and follow how youve done it and hopefully a nice Lager for the Summer. (well, hopefully a good summer...our UK weather 🥶🥵) Cheers 🍻
Congrats on a fine beer! I'm encouraged by your results, as I recently got 3 packs of NovaLager and my first brew with it is coming any day, a Bohemian Pilsner style. Mr Scotchpie & a few others pretty much sold me on it. And now you've confirmed that 1-packet is well-enough for 21.5 L, let alone 19 L. I sent a couple packs to Brew-Dudes here in the US, so they'll be doing a show on it eventually, not sure if you watch their channel. Great video as always. Cheers mate! 🍺🍻
Thanks Skid. I seem to remember that the pitch rate is dependent on OG as well as volume of wort so maybe worth looking on the Lallemand website. Great yeast though! Yes I watch the Brew Dudes so will look out for their video. Cheers mate. 🍻
@@davec4955 I just looked it up funny enough. I’m down near the MCE every weekend so will check that out. Didn’t realise there was one there. Cheers for the heads up.
Hi there, just a thought, save you buying bottles of water, have you thought about a water filter, i have a three stage water filter, i got mine from eBay aqua water filters, i only had pure Brew, and it's all good to go, might be worth a try 👍😊

It’s probably a bit too hoppy to be recognised as a lager but the yeast is worth a try if you’re brewing a lager.

@@G-townbrewer Yeah I have the Lallemand pitching rate calculator saved in my bookmarks. Excellent resource.
It's worth trying Spotless water especially in a lager !
Yeah there’s not one that local to me unfortunately but I think they are opening one soon nearby. Cheers!
@@G-townbrewer I believe you are in the Gravesend area. There is one at Princess road Dartford and a new one on the Medway City estate.

I'm actually using Spotless water now, so all good. Cheers!
Really interesting. If you add 200g of wheat malt extract, do you only use 800g of LDME on a 1kg addition?
I added 200g of wheat DME and 1KG of extra light DME to the kit. so 1.2kg in total.
@The G-Town Brewer cheers matey 🍺
