- I brewed up 10 gallons of a Mexican Lager with corn and split it into 2 fermenters. I fermented 1 with Diamond Lager yeast from Lallemand and the other with Nova Lager and served it to some friends and family. I'll be honest, I couldn't tell the difference, they were both good! You should totally try it out for yourself....cheers!!!

Diamond lager is my go to, consistently awesome, clean and crisp
Papa Gino’s the best!!!
Killer vid braj!
Thanks dude!!!
I think the introduction of Novalager yeast is great for home brewers, especially beginners. The ability to brew a lager quickly and to experiment with tastes at warmer temperatures is great too. Definitely a game changer and there's definitely a place for it. However, my limited (1 brew) experience tells me that while the lager was good it did throw Ale flavours and doesn't seem to give you quite that clean crisp clear lager taste as say diamond does. Only my view so far but early days yet, I'll try it again sure.
I’ve been waiting for a new video. Thanks for the time you put in. I enjoy them
Thanks for watching!!! I’ve got more coming up it just takes me a while 🤣 cheers 🍻
Great video! It is nice to know that you can make a solid lager with NovaLager at 65F, vs Diamond at 55F.
Haven't done any comparison but did do a few nova lagers at around 75F under pressure and they came out very good. Cheers.
Nice!! I cannot tell the difference and it’s nice having it done quicker too! Cheers 🍻
Super interesting comparison! Love the blind taste testing
What a timely video. I’ve been brewing with Diamond Lager a good bit lately and I just branched out with Nova Lager on my last brew day to see how it does in a Porter.
Nice!!! I’ll need to try it in an ale next!!! Cheers 🍻
I brewed all my beer last year using Nova lager very impressive. I found 16c to 18c best cleanest taste. Very fruity at 12c.
Great video. Done a few with Nova, and it has some great plus points. Sometimes clean isn’t always best though
Thank you!!! Oh yeah, sometimes having the malt and hops flavor is great too!!! Love a little bready undertone in my light lagers!!!
@@ElementaryBrewingCo there’s still a special place in my heart for S23 because I’m a sucker for a teeny bit of sulphur 😍
I have used them both and I also prefer the nova because of the speed and temperature capabilities. Mash on!
I did like the speed it was done in for sure!!! Cheers 🍻
Very well done! I am trying to remember if I've ever used Nova Lager, but I can tell you that Diamond Lager has been a champ and always comes out really nice and smooth, especially for a Mexican Lager.
Thank you man, cheers 🍻
great vid. got excited when I saw a noti with the ole Elementary Brewing Co on it.... Need me some more of that k?
As always, great video my friend. Fun experiment. Been on a Mexican lager kick as of late and have been thinking about brewing my own. Might have to take some inspiration from your version when I make my own. Cheers bud!
One of my favorite styles, definitely worth a shot!!! Cheers 🍻
I love Nova Lager ..sprinkle it on my morning oatmeal
🤣🤣
Good stuff bro!
Thanks Curt!!!
Lol... stunning panel
I just picked up 2 packs of the Novalager, what was the fermentation time on it? Looking forward to making a Cold Ipa with it.
Usually mine are done in about 4 days at 62-65F. Cheers 🍻
I have been searching (to no avail) to determine if NovaLager continues to ferment in the lager stage. It is my belief that normal lager yeasts continue to be "active" in the cellar. I want to cold crash NovaLager, but I am afraid of sending it to the cellar while it might still be active. The yeast might die at lager temperatures...
I love these kind of videos ! Cheers Amigo ! 🍻🍻 P.S We need more Papa Gino
🤣🤣 more papa Gino!!!
Are you using a tri-clamp to hold your pump onto the leg of your stainless steel table? Tell me more about this setup because I am interested in getting this for my setup!
Yes!! It’s a pump mount made by exchillerator. You can get it from there website, cheers 🍻
I would like to try novalager sode by side with the same recipe and different fermentation temps as ive only done 18c so far and it has produced what i would consider to be a clean ale, not a lager. W3470 for me produces a more lager-like beer when fermenting at 18c which is the warmest ive gone without pressure for a lager yeast
Another banger video as usual bro! Very interesting results too. I’ve been wanting to brew a Mexican Lager for a while now and haven’t taken the plunge, but getting some inspiration here. Well done sir, cheers 🍻
Thanks man!!!
Good stuff
My experience with Nova. The big thing is temperature range. Probably Good people can't tell the difference.
🍻
Thanks dude!!!
How was the Genie?
Was that Mr. White with you on the tasting?
Another great video! Old school Cleveland Indians (Guardians) hat?! ❤
