And the unluckiest player who never made it out of the first round. I grew up loving him dueling against kobe and I considered him my second favorite before d wade
My favourite player ever. Could’ve been top 10 of all time if not for injuries and bad luck with teammates. This man was averaging 32 a game back in the early 2000s. One of the most gifted players offensively💯
I clearly remember that one of Kobe's interview. Interviewer asked to kobe that who is the toughest guy to defense. And Kobe said, It was T-mac because he got all those skills and athleticism.
THANK YOU TMAC!!! You are a former Rocket that I will always respect. You and Yao were AWESOME in some of the Rockets games I went to when you were around!!!
As a Fan of T-Mac, for me his history will never be forgotten and it will be a memorable game for all of nba fans, especially when he does the self-alley-oop dunks and the best thing he had done was in the hopeless situation and he scored 13 points in 35 seconds. And today I'm still hoping that he will return and make an unstoppable game.
Perry Rodriguez numbers can tell you that, but that's cuz kobe didn't have to put up 35 ppg yet cuz he still had shaq to even the load. allen iverson was pretty much forced to carry the sixers and do everything.
Jsalcedo23 Not only numbers, do you remember the 2001 Finals? They were going at each other and Iverson schooled Kobe so bad that Phil Jackson had to bring Lue off the bench at the end of some games. Kobe could never handle AI. If Iverson was lucky enough to play with Shaq and Phil he would have had a much better career than Kobe.
Perry Rodriguez to be honest NOBODY could guard Iverson. kobe was an elite defender but nobody could defend him. not even MJ, I'm sure you've seen the video
Players like Jordan, Kobe and T-Mac don't exist anymore - you know the type that REALLY want to win - doesn't matter if it's preseason again Guangzhou Flying Chopsticks or Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Sad to say Kobe is the last of a dying breed.. even LBJ and Durant don't have the same competitive fire as those three have/had.
Yea T-Mac really wanted to win yet didn't have have what it took to win a single playoff series. You're forgetting about the Spurs, Steph Curry, the Bulls, Harden, and KD has shown a hell of a lot more fire than at-Mac ever has. You can't bring up T-Mac in discussion of the greats when he's never even won a playoff series.
For people saying prime T-Mac was overrated. Search any player other than T-Mac to have this type of stats in the same season: scoring at least 32ppg, averaging at least 6.5rpg 5.5apg 1.7spg 0.8bpg and shooting over 38% from three point range, while having less than 3 turnovers per game. Tracy McGrady 2002-2003 regular season (All-Star and All-Nba 1st team): 32.1ppg 6.5rpg 5.5apg 1.7spg 0.8bpg 2.6tov 46 fg% 39 3p% 79 ft% 30.3 PER NO OTHER PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY CAN MATCH ALL THESE STATS IN A SINGLE SEASON. He played like a beast that season! While having terrible teammates. Orlando Magic roster was so bad, the only other good player outside of T-Mac was Mike Miller, and maybe Drew Gooden?! LOL (Grant Hill was injured almost all the season)
A.R. You do realize that Michael Jordan had better statistical seasons than that, right? Like 1988-89: 32.5ppg, 8r, 8a, 3s, 0.8 b, 53.8 fg%, 31.1 PER That wasn't even his best season - it was his 4th highest PER for a season. The year before his PER was 31.7 and the year after it was 31.2 and the year after that was 31.6. So just had to correct you there on the statistical claim.
+Daniel Clark absolutely saw both at their best. I'm putting money on his airness over ANYONE, but op said he could take him. I agree, tmac would have a chance.
+Rfranklinz45 one on one TMac was ridiculous but so was Mike and TMac was not nearly the defender MJ was in his prime although it would be fun to watch though but no way I'm going to chose anybody against Mike
As a Mavs fan, Tracy McGrady always seemed to have our number it was annoying. But what was more devasting was that he dunked over a 7'6 waste of center Shaun Bradley
This man could've been considered as one of the greatest players in NBA History along with Jordan, LeBron, and Kobe if he would've stayed healthy. This man was an animal on the court.
Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, will one day be in the Hall Of Fame, because they are one of the many greatest basketball players to ever step on a NBA floor. Vince athleticism and McGrady all natural talent nobody could stop them.
There are so many players I forget when everyone starts Jordan, kobe, Lebron, curry fighting about the GOAT. I would take a team of Mcgrady, Iverson, Carter, Pierce,Duncan,Nowitzki.....you get my point. I have so many great memories from these players as well. Ya'll were bad ass!
t-mac was great and could have been an all time great but all these people saying he'd have been better than jordan and lebron are wrong. yes t-mac was an amazing scorer, but he didn't have half the court vision that lebron has, and both jordan and lebron were/are better defenders than t-mac ever was.
Do you not remember people saying that T-mac was the next Jordan? He was that good and proved to be better then Lebron in many games that they had match ups.
Bill Lammers I know this is old but Tmac had really good court vision actually and his defense was lazy but if you put stats aside and actually watch his games, when he is actually trying on defense he is a great defender especially 1 0n 1. I heard commentators back then say that in time he could be one of the league premier defenders.
John Smith dude u must be blind or something, T-Mac was far better than lebron is. Tracy alone could destroy a team! Not saying lebron is weak or something but man if you are a T-Mac fan you should know that the impact he had on the games back then is quite impossible to find anywhere else.
If he was playing now, he would be better than Lebron James. One of the best players to ever play the game. If only he didnt' have health issues. Howard, Lin, McGrady, Harden, Parsons. Championship team right there.
j43w0n That's where you are wrong though. Last season Rockets got to playoffs on a fresh team. Lin, Harden, Delfino, and others. They were fresh to the Rockets and chemistry was there. This year they are going to get even farther into the playoffs. This year they received Howard, one of the best centers. Who knows what else?
Cheng Vang The Rockets would definitely be contenders with McGrady, but the problem is, they probably wouldn't have gotten all those guys if T-Mac was still on the squad. If you want to imagine a REAL dream team, replace Howard with Olajuwon while you're at it.
Jordan was a lock-down defender, that's what separates Jordan from a lot of these players like Kobe, LeBron, etc, MJ won a defensive player of the year for crying out loud, sorry that's something T-Mac would have never done. Besides we can't do "ifs" or "but" because thats not what happened.
kingdrosilva94 Jordan got defensive player of the year when Pippen started playing serious D and he got a ton of transition steals as the ball was passed from the player whom Pippen was guarding to the player whom Jordan was on. Jordan's defense consisted of pulling on opponents clothing and holding... In today's league he would foul out before the end of the first half. Jordan was great, but he wouldn't be able to be Great in today's league because the rules diminish EVERYTHING which he took advantage of to become great. He couldn't lay hands on opponents on offense or defense, he couldn't intimidate officials, he couldn't instigate shit with opponents, contact which he caused as he drove to the hole would result in a charge. If Jordan was so great, he would've done a better job than Lebron did before he received help (never made the finals w/o Pippen)
It's not like they could not do the same thing to Jordan when he was playing, MJ played in a tougher era a lot of today's top players complain about every little thing the can, and LeBron is one of the worst ones. As to what you said about LeBron reaching the finals, guess what, he got swept when he wasn't able to use his size to his advantage, Jordan isn't 6'8 and 250 lbs. Allen Iverson took the 76ers to the finals and at least won a game against the Lakers, does that make him better than Jordan? No it doesn't so that point is irrelevant. As far as who LeBron played,it's laughable haha, the Wizards and the Nets, only the Pistons were a real threat to them and at that time they were starting to decline so please don't try and make it seem like MJ is not the best.
People be sleeping in Tmac. Mainly cause of LeBron but tmac help change the game. He was self oppin in games since day one. I think they made players stop doing it cause of him lol don't quote me on that
if Tmac would have been a Rocket his whole career, he would be in consideration for best rocket ever, but of course the Dream will be the greatest until somebody can lead us to 3 titles... you hear me Dwight? lol
What You Mean "Nope"... T-Mac was better than Kobe in his Prime.. But Kobe is better "Career Wise" If you don't agree with me than you don't know Basketball!
Stan Marsh Well, i don't want to say that you can't have your own opinion but you know there are experts with several decades of NBA experience who say otherwise. I would say that those people have a more trustworthy opinion than you have.
One on one if healthy, I would take him to beat Jordan and Kobe. This dude was a monster. Now I'm not picking him as my starting SG but in one on one, I'll tmac over anyone.
POET22HERO Like hell he did. For half his seasons. On the raptors, Tmac wasn't getting his minutes. On the rockets, every time he needed Yao, Yao'd be out with injury. Every time Yao needed him, He'd be out with injury. Thus, we have a man without a single playoff title to his name, but these absolutely monumental highlights.
Minus the chips and shit there WAS a time when tmac WAS actually better then kobe. However tmac was too injury prone unlike kobe who just got better and better and maintained his work ethic and killer instinct when it came to ball.
he had all the gifts. could dunk, shoot, post, pass, and defend. he and grant hill were probably the most complete players of the era up until their injuries.
Chris Laroche nah you mad cause you don't know the history and you just made some ignant ass comment to appear smart and you weren't due to your ignorance. Tmac left the Raptors after his third year as a free agent because there was no restricted free agency back then, essentially the rule came to affect afterwards as a result of this.
I know my history and I know that's when tmac left. The point was that Toronto should've did everything in their power the keep him and Vince together and build around them. Tmac wanted to stay and play with his cousin but they were not willing to pay him what he wanted so of course he left. A year or two after, they almost lost Vince the exact same way but didn't want to make the same mistake twice & paid him. If they kept them together they could've maybe formed the best duo in the league. Don't come at me about history you don't know me
T-Mac in his prime destroyed Lebron. Watch videos of Tmac vs Lebron during 2004-2008. In his prime, 2003-2007, T-mac was the best player in the league.
Great Joke. What has D.Howard ever done to Rocket? How about Beard? make sure Rocket past the first run, then ranked Harden and Dwight in front of T-Mac and Yao...[Yao led the team to semi-final game 7 with prime lakers]
Will be missed an awful lot. The hole he has left in the NBA has yet to be filled. No one played the game like Mac. He made it look so easy. Favourite player to ever lace em up.
That 13 in 33 is unarguably the greatest play in NBA history....👍👌🙌
When Reggie Miller scored 8 in 9 seconds against my Knicks still hurts lol
@@antoniocurbelo7591 4 threes and 1 with 4 points play. Simply and incredibly!
Rodney Rogers 9 points in 9 seconds. Can't get better than that.
💯🎯✅ mj used to shit on him
Yep
His 13 points in 33 seconds
i actuali cried in the last three
+DAVE I did too :')
+DAVE Every single time I watch that video I swear it brings tears to my eyes
L
Celtix9 i didnt get it what does L mean
Lol i almost did...i wanted to
Tmac..Vince..Iverson..Peny Hardaway...Grant Hill...unlucky stars
They deserved the fame just as Jordan, Kobe, and MJ had as well.
TrollPlaysHD - Minecraft PvP & More! Jordan and MJ they are the same person.... Why did you say both
lol sorry i meant to put lebron.
Add Yao Ming and Brandon Roy and you got yourself a list...
i wouldn't say Iverson
his name will go down the record books as the man to score 13 points in 35 seconds
Jake C :o 13 points in 33 seconds fo real
not to be hating lebron coundn't even do that
monty eddings Kobe and Jordan either
And hit the game winner on their rivals at the same time.
And the unluckiest player who never made it out of the first round. I grew up loving him dueling against kobe and I considered him my second favorite before d wade
I watch this everyday and pray that T-Mac will return someday.
My favourite player ever. Could’ve been top 10 of all time if not for injuries and bad luck with teammates. This man was averaging 32 a game back in the early 2000s. One of the most gifted players offensively💯
If Houston had him and Yao healthy for a while they def would have gotten a title
they wouldve gone vs spurs/lakers over and over. who knows sadly haha
tracy/yao were injured vs lakers, doesnt feel like a series to me even if they played 1-2 games in it.
Ironically the farthest the Rockets ever made in the playoffs were when T-Mac and Yao were injures
My favorite player of all Time
Who's ur favorite player why
+Shai Ward he just said
I clearly remember that one of Kobe's interview. Interviewer asked to kobe that who is the toughest guy to defense.
And Kobe said, It was T-mac because he got all those skills and athleticism.
Thats true
Tmac said Kobe was the hardest person to gaurd.
No he said Carmelo was
Michael Lin he actually Did. Don't know when he got "TMAC" from
Andre Moxey it was in the Jimmy Kimmel interview
Shawn Bradley, the most dunked on player in the history of the game.
That's legendary status right there.
Brandon knight will eventually be the career holder for that stat soon , 👌😂
Idk what you're talking about...?
I think that's Patrick Ewing, not Bradley.
Amani Marshall Other then Deandre, who else dunked on him?
Naaah that's Dikembe , literally everyone dunked on him
That last shot and the emotion by McGrady gave me the chills... A legend
For that short stretch in the 2000's he was best player ever, then it ended as fast as it started.
RIP T-Mac
He didnt die, he retired..
WHAT? no man he's retired
lol do you think he died?
Totally agree, he was unstoppable. Always be one of my favorite players
From that short stretch of early 2012 too late 2012 Capital steez was the best Rapper but it ended as fast as it started .
R.I.P Capital STEEZ
Go through all the players, top ten career plays. This is by far the coolest!
Most talented player ever. Love watching him play.
THANK YOU TMAC!!! You are a former Rocket that I will always respect. You and Yao were AWESOME in some of the Rockets games I went to when you were around!!!

Tracy, dirk, and A.i. are pretty much my favorite players of all time. I mean theres some old skool kats but pretty much after the 90's that my top 3
watchin this got me chills, im 19 and i will never see another tracy mcgrady in my whole life. goodbye legend.
only SG who ever seriously challenged kobe as the best in 2000s ( you can argue wade i guess)
it's a damn shame he couldn't stay healthy tho
Allen Iverson was actually better than Kobe for the early 2000's.
Perry Rodriguez
numbers can tell you that, but that's cuz kobe didn't have to put up 35 ppg yet cuz he still had shaq to even the load.
allen iverson was pretty much forced to carry the sixers and do everything.

Sad to say Kobe is the last of a dying breed.. even LBJ and Durant don't have the same competitive fire as those three have/had.
I think there are still a few, Id say Rus has that fight in him. Even Paul George and KD at times.
Lebron is the pioneer of the soft nba movement
Yea T-Mac really wanted to win yet didn't have have what it took to win a single playoff series. You're forgetting about the Spurs, Steph Curry, the Bulls, Harden, and KD has shown a hell of a lot more fire than at-Mac ever has. Well someones never seen Tmac play
Not even Tim Duncan? Ya he's not the most fired up player but yu can't doubt anyone wants 2 win anymore than he does..and he's nearly 40 yrs old.
Thank you T-Mac! You'll always will be a Teacher to new players looking to become Great!
easily one of the best top 10's ive ever seen
Yes
We all saw #1 coming
that was a legendary for me

Michael L Jordan averaged 1 more foul and 1 more turnover than Tmac. Also shot 28 % from 3 while Tmac shot 39 %
Honestly I think prime tracy could have taked prime jordan
Go to bed
+Daniel Clark he's right though
+Rfranklinz45 you never actually saw Jordan play if you make that statement or agree with it

One of the greatest of all time. He's such a great player. You will be missed T-Mac. #G.O.A.T
There will be no one like him. He was special, gifted, and for some reason, even genial. An amazing basketball player.
Put this man in 2k15 PLEASEE
they did
***** he is only in MY TEAM
yeah dumbass...
lol u mad
Both of y'all just Stfu
His uniform always looked a little too big...

Denard James Technically it is a uniform.

To make him look even cooler as he flew through the air
MY FAV PLAYER!!! Had all your shoes T-Mac. I love you bro, It was a great run.
t-mac nba legend
Omg That Stare !!! 1:15
Grimlin Deville that evil eye
Nigga moment
T-Mac was and will always be my favorite player ever. He was the guy that made me fell in love with the game when I was a kid.
As a Mavs fan, Tracy McGrady always seemed to have our number it was annoying. But what was more devasting was that he dunked over a 7'6 waste of center Shaun Bradley
2.55 career block average
luf4rall he's 7 fucking 6. It shouldn't be that hard
This man could've been considered as one of the greatest players in NBA History along with Jordan, LeBron, and Kobe if he would've stayed healthy. This man was an animal on the court.
im gonna miss this guy.. ive always loved him. Always felt like he played with passion, he deserves a ring, he used to form a great duo with Yao
So underrated.
underrated? whoever think t-mac was underrated is a damn fool.....everybody knew his capabilities
" everybody ", huh lol ?
Anyways, you clearly have your opinion, and I clearly have mine.
W.W Outlaw dude... ur opinion isn't wanted here, gtfo
Kajan Kanesh * Yawn *
Lol t mac underrated he a hall of famer.
dallas is either being dunked on or losing from a buzzer beater in top 10's
That's in every LeBron, Durant, Westbrook and Wade highlights haha
Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, will one day be in the Hall Of Fame, because they are one of the many greatest basketball players to ever step on a NBA floor. Vince athleticism and McGrady all natural talent nobody could stop them.
The reason how T-Mac gets injured is because no one wants him to kill the heck out of them.
we all new what number 1 was:P
cold-blooded scoring machine! been a T-Mac fan since his Raptor days and still a fan until now.
should've stayed with vince on the raptors that team would have been so beast
Wilkins, T-Mac and Kemp were the meanest dunkers I've ever seen. They were just MEAN!
You better put Vince Carter in there to
MrFunnyman151 I agree.. put VC up there...
Kobe, LeBron, and Shaq as well (Not style wise)
There are so many players I forget when everyone starts Jordan, kobe, Lebron, curry fighting about the GOAT. I would take a team of Mcgrady, Iverson, Carter, Pierce,Duncan,Nowitzki.....you get my point. I have so many great memories from these players as well. Ya'll were bad ass!

One of the best to do it. Well go down very underrated, but a hell of a ball player.
The woman at 1:56 sums this all up.
yup
Much better than Wade and Lebron
lebron is the better all round player, coming from a t-mac fan lebron is far better, he's unbelievable
John Smith dude u must be blind or something, T-Mac was far better than lebron is. Tracy alone could destroy a team! Not saying lebron is weak or something but man if you are a T-Mac fan you should know that the impact he had on the games back then is quite impossible to find anywhere else.
GiupyTravel you say tracy could destroy a team but he never went through the first round of playoffs.
Niel Aguhob well technically, he did went through the first round and actually go on to the Finals with the Spurs last season
I'm actually in tears watching this. Sad day for me and his today's fans to see him retired.
If he was playing now, he would be better than Lebron James. One of the best players to ever play the game. If only he didnt' have health issues.
Howard, Lin, McGrady, Harden, Parsons.
Championship team right there.
Yup. TMac at his prime could have been the best player. He had everything.
definitely NOT a championship team but TMAC is def. the shiits.

Olajuwon oh my goodness. Talk about top 3 in the post. Now that's going wayyyy back.
People doing a heck of a job guarding Tracy, watch him dunk after i say that XD
TOP 1 play of him is always the most unforgettable and marvelous.
If Tmac was healthy and perfectly fine he would've been better than MJ. Prepare for the hate...
Not hating on T-Mac at all, but he wouldn't have been better than MJ.

T Mac is the boba fett of the NBA
W
He genuinely deserved a ring. He had a fantastic career.
0:38 did just lebrob wear a bulls jersey
+genesis vicente he was a big jordan fan, altough jordan has always been an asshole to him for no reason.
+Sm00th TV Oh, I thought he's the fan of a.i
+Sm00th TV he's not an asshole he just is pissed Lebron is compared to him which he's obviously not near GOAT level
People be sleeping in Tmac. Mainly cause of LeBron but tmac help change the game. He was self oppin in games since day one. I think they made players stop doing it cause of him lol don't quote me on that
nah you can still do it
o ok i didnt kno
Tmac actually told LeChoke to finish his high school years instead of going straight to the NBA.
Injuries really hurt his career, he was definitely underrated
***** but whos 6-0 in the finals
T MAC was DOPE! I wish injuries wouldn't have slowed up his & Grant Hill's careers...
i love t-mac
T-Mac to the rack
Watching that game winning shot still gives me goosebumps
if Tmac would have been a Rocket his whole career, he would be in consideration for best rocket ever, but of course the Dream will be the greatest until somebody can lead us to 3 titles... you hear me Dwight? lol
you spelt harden wrong. You mean "you hear me Harden".
True. If he would have came straight to Houston instead Orlando, I'm pretty sure he would've at least gone to the Western Finals.
Ryan Terry
Well, if it's only about the titles maybe. But, individually, Olajuwon is arguably the best center ever so...
Pause at 2:22 He sure knows how to ride horses.
It was bettered by Javale McGee, check his horse back riding. Shaqtin'!
Damn.. I will miss you T-Mac , also yours performance in first place is the best I have ever seen in NBA history!!!
Wayyy better than Kobe
In his prime.. but not career wise
Nope
What You Mean "Nope"... T-Mac was better than Kobe in his Prime.. But Kobe is better "Career Wise" If you don't agree with me than you don't know Basketball!
Anthony Negron That's your opinion. Tracy Mcgrady was never better at any point of time.
Stan Marsh
Well, i don't want to say that you can't have your own opinion but you know there are experts with several decades of NBA experience who say otherwise. I would say that those people have a more trustworthy opinion than you have.
healthy T-Mac > Kobe, without a doubt
an icon in the early part of the 2000 era tmac you will always be remember and are definitely a hof!
if the injuries hadnt happen he would have been as good as Michael Jordan.
One on one if healthy, I would take him to beat Jordan and Kobe. This dude was a monster. Now I'm not picking him as my starting SG but in one on one, I'll tmac over anyone.
The first time I've seen Tracy play I became a Rockets fan instantly, and still am :p
McGrady at one point was doing what we see Durant do today. But Durant has Westbrook and a good supporting cast to move forward.
Nah, just westbrook.
Walkthrougher12 nah..you were too young to remember.
he had carter in raptors and yao ming in rockets
POET22HERO Like hell he did. For half his seasons. On the raptors, Tmac wasn't getting his minutes. On the rockets, every time he needed Yao, Yao'd be out with injury. Every time Yao needed him, He'd be out with injury. Thus, we have a man without a single playoff title to his name, but these absolutely monumental highlights.
T-Mac never had that ability to make teammates better. He could put up pretty numbers but he didn't know how to win.
Will Smith+Kid Cudi= Tracy McGrady
mac>leflop
yes
We can't compliment someone without bringing someone else down? Childish ass
I love seeing this guy dunk. Him and his cousin Vince Carter in their prime had hops and power.
T Mac could have been the best ever if he stayed healthy. God damn it....
Yum
If Tracy and Yao both didn't get hurt, Houston probably would've won 3 championships in a row
thank you for all the good memories you gave us~
Imagine he played like this every game?...
Him and Vince on same team would be best duo doe
Toronto was too dumb to realize this and keep em together
Chris Laroche you don't know shit.
You supposed to be intimidating or something? Fuck outta here
Chris Laroche nah you mad cause you don't know the history and you just made some ignant ass comment to appear smart and you weren't due to your ignorance.
Don't come at me about history you don't know me
I miss those days I loved t Mac my favorite player if all time
wayyy better than lebron
I Agree Tmac Was To Amazing
nice joke !
Rob Thompsonville obviiously you are
2pac4eveerr youre a bitch
T-Mac in his prime destroyed Lebron. Watch videos of Tmac vs Lebron during 2004-2008. In his prime, 2003-2007, T-mac was the best player in the league.
Rockets top 5
1. Hakeem
2. James Harden
3. Rockets T-Mac
4. Dwight
5. Yao Ming
Great Joke. What has D.Howard ever done to Rocket? How about Beard? make sure Rocket past the first run, then ranked Harden and Dwight in front of T-Mac and Yao...[Yao led the team to semi-final game 7 with prime lakers]
harden is a shit
Walston Zheng Harden above, because T-Mac got worse each year with the rockets
Dwight?
Jalen Drayton Dwight below Yao my bad
Sad i never had the chance to watch him actually play. I started to play 2 years ago. Man, this dude had SICK game!

Icann't stop watching the back to papa dunk….WTF so calm and collected omg T-MAC that's why I had all his shoes :p

Hey Everyone I've just uploaded a tribute video to Tracy Mcgrady please go and check it out!
Best ever Highlight Reel material, a real showman to say the least. #HOF
Will be missed an awful lot. The hole he has left in the NBA has yet to be filled. No one played the game like Mac. He made it look so easy. Favourite player to ever lace em up.
