That last dunk has always been special to me. April 3, 1993 I was in a near fatal car accident. I was 18 and moving from California to Washington State with my dad. I didn’t have a pulse for almost five minutes. I had an L2 compression fracture and massive abdominal injuries, and needed three surgeries over a three week span at two different hospitals. There were some really messed up events that took place during those three weeks. During those three weeks I watched a lot of basketball games because there wasn’t a whole lot of anything else on tv I was interested in. Every game I watched with Shaq, he kept dominating. After watching Blue Chips, watching Shaq and Hardaway night after night was just like watching the movie all over again. Just before I got out (April 27th), there was a 17 y/o girl who was in the room next to mine. She was there also from a car accident, but her’s wasn’t as bad as mine was. She would come hang out in my room and we would watch tv together. On April 23rd, Shaq absolutely destroyed that backboard. We got in trouble for getting too loud with excitement each time they showed the replay. The nurses told us if they had to tell us one more time to keep the noise down, they would put us in time out. That just made it worse. Now we were laughing at the threat of being placed in timeout. She left the next day, and I spent my last few days there visiting with a 102 y/o lady who had broke her wrist punching an assistant at a care home who took her teddy bear from her. She had outlived everyone in her family and the teddy bear was all she had left. She broke the assistant‘s jaw. The life experiences she would talk about were by far better than any history lesson or book I could have ever read.

He was merely a prop for anyone tryna dunk on him for real. Hell, even Derek Fisher piped one down on him during his rookie year with the Lakers just moments after Eddie Jones, and Nick Van Exel.
I was a Shaq fanatic. My neighbor was a huge Jordan fan and I liked Shaq from the first dunk I saw him do. The Magic were probably the next best to the Bulls back then so I wore their merch to irritate my neighbor. I had a life size cutout of him and a toy collection. I loved the figure of him that was doing a monster dunk and it hung from a backboard and rim that was seperate, but my fave was the one that had the collapsable backboard that shattered when you dunked with his toy figure. I even had the album "Shaq Diesel" which was terrible, but I pretended to like it. The NBA was the shiz back then. My mom ended up selling all those toys in a yard sale when I became older and less interested. Now I'm 40 and haven't watched a game in years. I stopped around the time he went to LA because I hated LA and was so upset he went there.
man I have watched Lakers Shaq. Force of nature. pure dominance and power. almost no one can guard him down low. He can just do low post until he is near rim and do quick turn around and dunk the ball like no one was guarding him even when the opposing center was there trying his best to body block. Shaq was just moving them like nothing. I actually feel sorry for other teams center guarding Shaq. Teams has to recruit multiple lesser big men just for the purpose of fouling Shaq. Only Free throws was only thing that made it difficult for Shaq consistenly

He was merely a prop for anyone tryna dunk on him for real. Hell, even Derek Fisher piped one down on him during his rookie year with the Lakers just moments after Eddie Jones, and Nick Van Exel.
@@MusicManSeanB he was a shot blocker; and challenged every dunk. I respect it
Bradley was actually a pretty good shot blocker! He was 7’6”. Poor guy is now paralyzed from an accident.
"almost brought the goal down again" :D
I stopped around the time he went to LA because I hated LA and was so upset he went there.
this man is crazy
2:32 is one of hardest dunks ever in terms of sheer force. Lol I laugh every time I see that dunk , it’s funny how hard he dunks it .
One of the greatest dunkers in NBA history.
Number 2 is my favorite, man I miss seeing those thunderous dunks
the fact that shaq is a giant amongst giants
Seeing him come at you would be terrifying.
damn i knew mourning was gonna be on at least 2 of these lol. respect tho for trying.
man I have watched Lakers Shaq.
Damn brings back good memories Kobe -Shaq
Shaq is the king of center, today NBA is not strong like in his time, and Ewing,Olajuwon,Robinson,Mourning are definetely better than todays center!
3:59 My favorite dunk Kobe sets it up for shaq
It's crazy how strong and powerful Shaq really is
90s Shaq is pretty underrated. People like to give other great centers of the 90s flowers, so they tend to down talk 90s Shaq.
my favourite element to this video is the lack of music over the top of the original audio.... thank you for keeping the audio true other tubers need to take note of this professional example of a video edit, awesomeness manifesting physically ✅✅✅
Even the backboards were like, “Shaq attack! I’m gonna fold up and go home now”
Coach: We need an pause to plan a new Strategie
Shaq:Thats all you had to say😤
The Dudley one was always crazy. You feel for Dud, he had to stand up for himself, but after getting back down for 10ft, posterized, shoved to the ground and not being able to do a single thing to slow Shaq down from all that…throwing a ball and then yelling FU like going toe to toe with him was even an option makes me laugh every time. Basically like “You over power me and make me your b**ch on the court Shaq, but I’ll fight you…”
Shaq was a beast in his prime!
#2 should be #1. The moment and importance of that bucket is immeasurable. One of the most iconic plays in NBA history
Shaq was the ultimate big man powerful strong as a bull a huge freight train coming through today's NBA wouldn't know what do with Shaq
Who else in 2020 RIP Kobe Bryant
With all due respect to Wilt, Bill, and Kareem, prime Shaquille O’Neal is the starting center of my all time starting five if I had to win a game to save my life.
Bro idgaf what anyone says, Shaq's dunks were some of the most gruesome dunks I've seen
TheBXSavage you’re on somethin if you don’t pick wilt.
The dream is probably my pick! Even Shaq acknowledged he’s versatility and skill set.
oslocadiz I’d have him as my power forward.
I liked Shaq, but no way I'd take over Wilt.
2:31 when's the last time you see a center dunk like that. He held it way back..
Will never be another Shaq ... Phenomenon.. the one and only of his kind the king of the paint
0:40 “again”
The thing is Chris dudley was actually trying to save Shaq from falling but Shaq still shoved him.
Dudley still had a grip on both his legs. I don't blame Shaquille for not liking that too much 🤣
