Flat rate shipping is what is keeping me on Poshmark as shipping is to complicated on other platforms like ebay. I take advantage of the flat rate and ship most things in shoe boxes. Thanks so much for sharing more about your packaging!! I hear you on the trips to Staples - that’s what I was doing before I got my label printer too when I didn’t have access to a printer. So glad that you have access to one with a USB now - what a game changer!!
thank you sooooo much for this!!! I really wanted to start selling some clothes on Poshmark but the only thing stopping me was how to ship IN CANADA since all the influencer were from America. Thanks again!!!!😍👏🏾👏🏾
You’re very welcome Alisha!! That’s how it was for me when I got started, which is a big reason as to why I started this channel. I recently did an updated shipping video for Poshmark Canada as I some more things I wanted to share + Poshmark updated the price for shipping. You can find that video here: ua-cam.com/video/E_-kW4I2HBk/v-deo.html Happy poshing!!
Thanks for this! This is so useful! Have always wanted to started selling on poshmark but had no idea where to start especially when it comes to shipping the items. There’s rarely any videos in the whole process especially for Canadians so this video is great!!! Keep it up!!
To put this into perspective. There are 350 million people in the US using the postal service. There are 33 million people in Canada. Plus Canada is a bigger and less densely populated country. It all comes down to profitability.
BE VERY CAREFUL AS MANY BUYERS ARE BAD APPLES and Poshmark sides with them?! Make sure you take videos of your items before you ship it out- I'm talking every single inch, every seam. I've been in two cases and heard of many others of a buyer purchasing something and they get it but it doesn't fit. Of course they can't return it as that's against Poshmark policy so what they do is ruin the item you sent them by ripping a seam, pulling a button off or putting a stain on it and then reports it to Poshmark saying you sent the items that way and they want a refund. SOOOO now you're left with no sale, their money returned and your damaged/ruined clothing you sent out the was perfect with no flaws. BEWARE!!!!!!!! Poshmark sides with buyers NOT sellers. Also there are a lot of fakes on there posing as legit but neither you nor Poshmark would ever know without experience, so watch big purchases and do your research.
Despite Ashley ignoring your comment, I would like to thank you very much for pointing out the not so posh underbelly of this platform. The info you provided is infinitely more valuable than this 14 minute video on how to put an item in a bag and send it.
Thank you so much, this is providing me so much knowledge so I can start my resell buisness going as I am in Canada too. I was kinda confused as how it works here but now I know!
Just found your channel & I am in love! I've been on Poshmark for a month so far and I have made a little over $400. Hoping your tips and tricks can help me out even more! Much love from Montreal xoxo
Hi Ashley! OK, I don't know who gave you a thumbs down - but they are obviously just miserable and like to spread their misery. Your videos are awesome and very helpful, and I always enjoy them. I like to snag small boxes from the dollar store (they keep boxes at the front for people who don't want to pay 5 cents for plastic). I like them because they are nice and sturdy, and free... I try to find ones that don't have a lot of print on them...they may say Crayola or something - but that's the price of recycling, LOL. I also squirrel all kinds of packaging, pretty bags, nice stickers (found a giant pad of them at Walmart "cardmaking stickers"...worth every penny!, I think there are over 1000...$14) I also get freezer bags (zip kind) from the dollar store and I usually put my items in there first, (to protect from moisture) THEN wrap "pretty up" in tissue paper because I really like using pretty colours and I don't want to risk any dye transfer from the paper onto the item I am sending. Def may look into a postage label printer. Printing labels onto 8X11 paper then cutting them out and sealing down with tape doesn't seem very cost effective . Its a process figuring everything out! Hope everything is going well, sales are up, and you are staying safe!
Hey Ashley! I love learning about the posh world, and it’s especially nice to see a fellow Canadian posher ❤️ I binge watched all of your videos in a couple days and I’m hooked! Your videos are so entertaining to watch and you’re doing a fantastic job. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
Wow thanks so much! This was the best Canada shipping video I've found. Do you know if the Canada Post sticky envelopes that you put the label in or the Dymo paper's are recyclable or reusable?
Crystal I’m so glad that it was helpful for you!! Pretty sure neither the sticky pouches or dymo labels are reusable. I’m not 100% certain about their recyclable status!
Dharma Boutique&Collectibles that’s great!! Best to do what works for you. The Canada Posts near me have reduced their hours and I’m trying to avoid people / places as much as possible for now.
I just found your video. I´m from germany and its way more complicated to ship stuff there. Now I live in Canada and want to start reselling here as well, so it was quite informative for me how everything works here. thank you!
chrissiem47 hey! I thought this was strange so I reached out to them on Instagram. They said that Canada Post had advised them that there were delays of up to 4-6 weeks. You can reach out to them to get a quote for DHL shipping.
@@ashleygibson1 Yes, they emailed me too as I got so frustrated trying to order from them and cannot find Canada in their list of countries and I thought that they made mistake so I emailed them. Anyway, thanks for going out of your way to check for me. I guess I will just have to wait for things to get back to normal. :)
Excellent video: SO helpful. Just the thought of dealing with Canada Post's different "shipping" fees was holding me back from trying to sell online again. I suffer from Canada Post traumatic stress disorder, from my eBay online business days in the 90's, in BC. Still wake up in cold sweats... kidding. Not kidding. Questions: you mentioned Poshmark "charges the buyer $12.99"... is that CAD$? And if so: 1- is that the flat rate price only for shipping WITHIN CANADA, no matter the weight OR dimensions of package? 2- does that price cover shipping to the US and International shipping, as well as INSURANCE and TRACKING? Back in the day: Canada Post charged by WEIGHT as well as DIMENSIONS of package, charged extra for insurance, tracking, etc. Like I said: I still suffer from Canada Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, even after all these years, so would appreciate knowing these details from a tried and true Canadian Postmark seller whose UA-cam channel I actually subscribe to! I would so appreciate your response. Thanks very much for your time, and your videos! Cheers. :-)
It Ain't Me Babe thanks so much for your kind words!! Sounds like you have lots of previous experience with Canada Post from your eBay days, and I can understand how that could have been stressful! At this time (April 2020), Canadian Poshmark sellers can only sell to Canadians and all prices and shipping costs are in Canadian dollars. The same goes for American sellers only being able to sell to US buyers. There’s been mention of cross-border selling, but there’s been no timeline given of when that will launch and what it will look like. (There are Canadian sellers with US Poshmark accounts who use a third-party service to get their packages across the border, but I have zero experience with that!) The $12.99 flat rate covers packages up to 2.5 kg. If the seller sells a package/bundle that is more than 2.5kg, they can request an updated label from Poshmark, at roughly $1 + tax for each 0.5kg increase. (Ex. $1 + tax for 3kg, $2 + tax for 3.5kg) Additional shipping costs for packages over 2.5 kg are paid for by the seller and are deducted from your earnings. You can find more info about this in the Poshmark FAQ. The service level is Canada Post Expedited Parcel which comes with tracking and usually takes 1-7 days. re: dimensions, the Poshmark FAQ says “According to Canada Post, the maximum box dimensions for Canada Post Expedited Parcel are 3m. This means the combined measurement of the distance around the longest side and the distance around the thickest part of the box cannot be more than 3m.” So, lots of leeway on package size! So far I’ve never had to request an upgraded label, but would take that into consideration in pricing of any heavier item or large bundle. Thanks for watching and hope this answers your questions 🖤
@@ashleygibson1 Thanks so much Ashley: that's great info. So sad that Poshmark shipping does not allow for cross border shipping. International buyers and sellers are kinda hooped on that platform. The Canadian buyer market is so limited...
I was eyeing on the exact same pineapple kind the other day! I decided to hold off and keep using all of the boxes from my online shopping packages. Black Friday is coming soon, so I should have enough boxes that will last a while :)
Hi Ashley, great video!! Thank you😁 Do you use your actual return address? Do you have a post office box AT the Post Office. If so, how much do you pay for that Post Office box? Any help would be appreciated! Your videos are VERY informative and it is great to see a Canadian UA-cam video on Poshmark! Keep healthy!🇨🇦
Hi Linda!! Thanks for your support. So far no post office box for me, but I was eyeing them the other day at the post office, so I may investigate in the future!!
hi! i am a new small business owner and i am stressing out on how to ship stuff on etsy and i think you’re the only one who answers to yt comments. do you think it would be easier to ship to through etsy (get their labels and stuff) or go through canada post and the whoel “slot” thingy? thank you and please help me!
Serendipity Dae congrats on your new biz!! I’m not familiar with Etsy shipping. If you’re just starting out and if Etsy makes it easier or less expensive, I would check that out! Wish I could offer more guidance.
Lina Mattar so glad to hear this was helpful for you! Given the current times, I’ve seen people doing different things to get creative with sourcing. I’m going to talk about this in a video coming up soon, but may be worth starting with your own closet or investigating some online sourcing options. Or perhaps reaching out to some nearby friends & family to see if they have anything you could pick up from their doorstep? Hope this helps!
Thanks for the helpful tips! I was wondering how you input the dimensions for poly mailers if you self print labels for Canada post... because when I type in dimensions like the 10 x 13 ones it assumes I’m using a box and the price ends up going upwards to $20. Thanks!!
Lori Jiang glad it was helpful for you!! I only ship using Poshmark, so I never have to input the dimensions. May be a good question the next time you’re at the post office? Sorry I can’t be of more assistance!
FAB JOB GAL! I am in Newfoundland and have a great inventory....Is there anywhere you talk about what brands and styles sell best? Love your vids and Subed!!
Thanks so much for watching & subscribing!! I like to share hauls & what sold videos each month, and that can be helpful to learn about brands & styles. I also recently shared this video where I talked a lot about research - which can be key in helping you figure out what to sell ua-cam.com/video/6G7D80h7T9k/v-deo.html
Thanks for the tips, very helpful! I have a lot of clothes that I want to sell. Do you sell on any other platforms and how do they compare? Any other Canadian sites you would suggest or avoid for any reason? Also, when you drop off your packages at Canada Post, do you have them scan it or can you just drop it off in their mailbox? Now that their hours have decreased, there's always a long line up!
Grace N I’m so glad you found it helpful! I currently don’t sell on any other platforms aside from Poshmark. Nothing to suggest or avoid as of yet, but if/when I decide to cross list on other platforms I’ll be sure to share! With Canada Post I often drop off at a counter with a person, as I’ve found it starts tracking/moving sooner than if I just put it in a mailbox. But putting it in a mailbox works fine too, especially when there are lines at the post office
Thanks for watching! I added a bunch of links in the description and get my supplies from all over! Many I recycle, Hero for compostable mailers, Amazon for some things, staples and Uline have many great options as well.
Hello Ashley, thank you so much for doing a video about selling in Canada. Thats huge! I'm looking into starting in e-commerce and I'm super excited, but i want to invest in the same label printer you have. Are there any places that offer a discount or coupon code because thats my biggest issue. Keep putting out content 😁
I'm new to poshmark, I'm confused about the shipping costs and the option to decrease the shipping to 9.99, do we soak up the difference out of our profit? How do ppl offer free shipping, do they just pay for it themselves? I love your packing methodology-- it's great!
Welcome to Poshmark! If a buyer pays the full $12.99 - you don’t cover anything for shipping. If you send an offer to liker with $9.99 shipping, $3 comes out of your profit. If you send an offer to liker with free shipping, $12.99 comes out of your profit. Hope this helps to make it more clear!
Thank you so much for this video. I just moved to Canada a few months ago and am starting a new Poshmark business, so this was super helpful! I went to order a handful of mailers from Hero Packaging and I was shocked that it was going to cost $45 to mail the shipping supplies to my home in Victoria, BC. Do you find their shipping too much?
Yay I’m so glad it was helpful for you! I ordered my mailers last year, and I think they changed their shipping options since then. My cost was around $20. A Google search will probably help you to find some other mailers with a lower priced shipping option!
hi there!! did you have to pay duty on the hero pack poly mailers? Your channel is helping me start my posh mark journey so much. Thank you for your help
It’s been awhile, but I don’t think I did? That being said, I saw a link that said they’re going to be opening up a site for North America, so hopefully that will make shipping with them even easier soon 🤞🏼
Hi, just thinking about using Poshmark and selling from Canada. How would you sell a luxury bag that needs special insurance and is a heavier item? This video was VERY helpful xx
Thanks so much for watching - glad that it was helpful!! If an item is sold on Poshmark Canada for more than $700, it falls under Posh Authenticate and will actually be shipped to Poshmark first before it goes to the buyer. They will authenticate it, and then send it to the buyer. If an item is more than 5 lbs, you can get a new label within Poshmark up to 5kg. If your item is heavier than that, I’d recommend looking at another platform (like maybe eBay) where you could have more control over the shipping. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the video! I have been wondering about EVERYTHING 🙄 starting from boxes to stationaries. Even wondering if I have to go to a Canada Post 2 kms from my home by a bus each time I need to ship😑
hi ashley, I was wondering if you have to pay when you drop off your orders? I know that the labels are pre paid by poshmark but just wondering if there are any added fees once you drop it off with canada post for it to be shipped. Thanks!
Hi Ashley, thanks for the video. I’m thinking of investing in a Dymo as well. I’ve heard that they don’t work with an iPad. Do you know if that is true?
Nicole Whitley thanks for watching, Nicole!! I’ve only used mine with a Mac laptop. It has a USB to connect to your device, and there’s software to install to your computer. I’m sorry I can’t be of more assistance, but there may be others online who have tried
Janet Zelin Lu very strange! I’m not familiar with this issue. Have a look at the settings on your account and maybe try contacting Poshmark support. I hope you’re able to get it resolved!
Hi, thank you for this video. All of your videos have been very helpful. Today a Canada Post worker told me that technically they should be getting the dimensions and actual weight listed on the package or technically they don't have to accept it. I messaged Poshmark about it and they said that they knew technically they can refuse it but their regular mailing labels are good for up to 2.5 kg and oversized mailers up to 5 kg. I'm going to talk to the post office tomorrow about it I live in a small town and if they refuse packages this will be detrimental to my part time posh business! 😞 Have you heard anything like this before?
Hi Pauline! I’ve only heard of a couple folks having this issue - it’s never been something I’ve run into personally. Poshmark and Canada Post have an agreement, and the labels are good up to 2.5kg. If the package isn’t too big, you could always just put it into a mailbox instead of dropping at the counter with a person if they continue to give you trouble!
Mac- A-Holic thank you! I’m only selling in Canada. I’ve seen some folks get set up to sell in the US, and that’s not something I want to focus energy on at this time!
Hi Abbey! I think natural light and a neutral background can help to make photos look nice. In Poshmark, there are ways to list multiple quantities of an item. Once you start to use the app and play around, it will all start to make more sense!
The last time I put a package in a mailbox it took more than a week to scan. Now I just make the trip down the road to Shoppers Drug Mart and drop it onto their counter.
Benjamin Schiltz Vlogs yes! It’s definitely more consistent and reliable for scanning if you can drop off at a Canada post location. But the mailbox is an okay option when it’s needed - just takes longer to scan
Great video -- but I was hoping you'd address what you're doing about shipping during the CoronaVirus? Do you take your packages to the post office, or will they pick up? Is there some way to get items shipped without leaving your house?
If your package is small enough, I put the packages in those red canada post mailboxes on the streets. Just drop them in there and no contact with others.
what i do is if the package is too big, i give it to the post offices at shoppers! id recommend wearing some type of mask to avoid the risk of getting the virus! they scan it right away as well :)
Thanks for watching! In the beginning I was dropping my packages in a mailbox (even though it took a little while longer to track) I’m now wearing a mask and dropping them at the post office.
I am really struggling with coming up with low-cost eco-friendly packaging. Those bags from Australia are cool but I prefer buying post-consumer goods. Anyone have any cool DIY packaging ideas that still look pro?
That’s a great question! I’ll often use recycled boxes in addition to polymailers - especially for bundles or items that need a bit more TLC. Worth doing a search to see what you can find that goes with the aesthetic and goals for your packaging!
I would connect with a tax / financial professional on this, as everyone's situation is unique! I met with a financial advisor a few months ago and it was super helpful to talk through it all
Hi Ashley I also suffer from Canada Post-traumatic stress disorder from shipping items for my Etsy Store! I have one question; are the shipping costs always $12.99? Usually, when I ship my items for Etsy I always have to pay for the shipping before the time is sent out.... I did not hear you mention that you had to pay to shipping. Does Poshmark pay Canada post directly? And we just mail the package out? I hope you see the comment and you could have the time to let me know. My Poshmark store is in limbo because I do not understand the shipping. Thank you Kayla
Anna Maria V hi Kayla!! Thanks for watching. On Poshmark, buyers pay a flat rate of $12.99 for shipping. The only time the seller incurs costs for shipping is if you offer a shipping discount (either $3 off or cover the full $12.99) Hope that helps!
Thanks for watching! Shipping on Poshmark Canada is a flat rate of $12.99 and the buyer pays. As a seller, you’re able to offer a discount of $3 off or free ($12.99) and that comes out of your profit.
Heather Adams hey! I use either recycled boxes from other deliveries or boxes purchased from Staples to ship shoes. I usually include a generous amount of recycled paper / packing materials so that they are snug in the box
Yes, at this time you can only ship within the country you're in. Poshmark has been talking about cross border shipping for a couple years but it hasn't happened yet!
It's too bad because I know in the us that they can get packages/polymailers for free. So when I want to ship I can package it in anything but the label on from Poshmark and just give it to the post office?
Garity Wood there’s definitely some differences between Canada Post and USPS. Yes, you can package it up in a vessel of your choice, attach the label Poshmark emailed you and send it off!
Is there different posh marks for Canada and the us ? I don’t want to accidentally pay/charge an enormous fee because I don’t know where it’s coming from
Hi Amanda! Right now folks in Canada can only sell to folks in Canada, and folks on US Poshmark can only sell to folks in the US. This may change in the future, but no need to worry about paying/charging more than $12.99 shipping when buying/selling an item (that weighs up to 5 lbs) on Poshmark Canada at this time.
Hey Ashley, thank you so much for the video! I have a question, when the buyer pays you, does the money transfer immediately in your paypal account? And should you send the item AFTER you see the money in your account? What if someone tells you they paid but you see no money in your account? Thank you!
Hey Angie! All the money for Poshmark goes through Poshmark. They release the funds to you when the buyer marks the item as received. Then you’re able to transfer the funds to your bank. Hope this helps!
@@ashleygibson1 Oh I kinda got confused with how depop works! I can’t decide which one to go for. Thank you so much for your fast reply! I really appreciate it! I’m new in this so I’m kinda lost but your video explained things very clearly. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
What would happen if the buyer never acknowledged that they received the Poshmark package?! Does that mean that the seller will be delayed with getting their payment from Poshmark? Ashley, I think it's amazing that you answer everybody's question, I know I should be asking Poshmark these ?'s!! I'm reading all these Q&A's & watching ur vids. Boy im learning so much.. Again TY💋
i'm still confused about shippping on Poshmark. if the buyer is charged for the shipping, then the buyer must add that cost to the price of the item, is that correct? if so, then how does a buyer justify paying so much for shipping when the item itself is only $10...it would mean they pay more for the shipping then the item itself. i'm so confused, ugh
Yes, the shipping cost gets added to the item. For lower priced items, the $12.99 can definitely seem like a lot. But for $10, they’re likely getting a pretty good deal! It can definitely be beneficial for buyers to bundle multiple items together to get the most bang for their buck.
Hello, sorry this may be a weird question but does poshmark ever send flyers or advertisement or anything to the return shipping address? (Just wondering what is sent to the return shipping address/if anything)
j wong not that I’m aware of! The only things I’ve ever received have been Poshmark packages that I’ve ordered from other sellers. No flyers or ads from Poshmark.
Hi Ashley, I am newbie on Poshmark, I have silly question🤭 how about I dont have any printer machine, can I ask to Canada Post ti print the Shipping label?Thank You
Hi Yani! Welcome to Poshmark. No, unfortunately you can’t (as far as I know) before I had a printer I would often print my labels at a local Staples or print shop.
@@yanihasan788 nope! You can just print on regular paper and then attach it to your package. Canada Post will often have clear sticky pouches that you can use to easily attach the paper label to your shipment.
I am planning on selling some clothing on Poshmark and i'm just curios as to home I receive the money when they purchase an item. Do I somehow hook up my credit card or how does it work?
Victoria - Vlogs excited for you to get set up on Poshmark! The funds are attributed to you once the buyer receives their item(s) and marks it as received in the app. You connect your bank account to your Poshmark account, and you can request to transfer your funds at any time, and usually takes a couple days.
I started with the roll it came with, and then just searched for Dymo refill rolls, and made sure to get one that was official from Dymo. There are lots of options!
ashley gibson Nope, they just don’t reply. It’s been a few weeks the first time I contacted them on this subject and again two days ago. Nothing. Poshmark needs to attend to their clients. They will start losing valuable business if they do not.
When you sell something on posh, do you just get an email? or does it tell you right on site that you have an order, and do you print label right from the site?
Shannon St. Jean if the shoes were less than 5 lbs, you’d be all set! If they were heavier, you’d need to increase the weight in the label and you’d pay for that.
@@sundayswithlove9980 oh super! Yes, you can use any packaging to ship your Poshmark packages in Canada. We don’t have specific boxes like they do in the US

ashley gibson it’s “ zai_closet “ 🥰🥰 thank you so much for the sweet words of encouragement 💕
Elizabeth Hanley those are great tips!!! Thank you for sharing 🖤
Elizabeth Hanley and the while totally an investment, the label printer is a game changer!!!
Hey Ashley! I love learning about the posh world, and it’s especially nice to see a fellow Canadian posher ❤️ I binge watched all of your videos in a couple days and I’m hooked! Your videos are so entertaining to watch and you’re doing a fantastic job. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
Meaghan Konning thank you so much for your sweet words!! Your support means the world to me!!! 💖🙏🏼
Thank you I just got my first purchase 😬
Wow thanks so much!
This was the best Canada shipping video I've found.
Do you know if the Canada Post sticky envelopes that you put the label in or the Dymo paper's are recyclable or reusable?
Crystal I’m so glad that it was helpful for you!! Pretty sure neither the sticky pouches or dymo labels are reusable. I’m not 100% certain about their recyclable status!
Here in BC Ive just been taking my packages to Shoppers Drug Mart post...they still take them and instantly scan. 😊
Dharma Boutique&Collectibles that’s great!! Best to do what works for you. The Canada Posts near me have reduced their hours and I’m trying to avoid people / places as much as possible for now.

I just ordered my hero mailers with your link!! Thanks for the awesome info.

I tried to order but I cannot find Canada in their list of countries, weird!
chrissiem47 hey!
It did take quite a long time for me to get mine but I didn’t mind waiting

Excellent video: SO helpful. Just the thought of dealing with Canada Post's different "shipping" fees was holding me back from trying to sell online again.
I suffer from Canada Post traumatic stress disorder, from my eBay online business days in the 90's, in BC. Still wake up in cold sweats... kidding. Not kidding.
Questions: you mentioned Poshmark "charges the buyer $12.99"... is that CAD$? And if so:
1- is that the flat rate price only for shipping WITHIN CANADA, no matter the weight OR dimensions of package?
(There are Canadian sellers with US Poshmark accounts who use a third-party service to get their packages across the border, but I have zero experience with that!)
The $12.99 flat rate covers packages up to 2.5 kg.
Recycled boxes are such a great option!!
Keep healthy!🇨🇦

hi! i am a new small business owner and i am stressing out on how to ship stuff on etsy and i think you’re the only one who answers to yt comments. do you think it would be easier to ship to through etsy (get their labels and stuff) or go through canada post and the whoel “slot” thingy? thank you and please help me!
Serendipity Dae congrats on your new biz!! I’m not familiar with Etsy shipping. If you’re just starting out and if Etsy makes it easier or less expensive, I would check that out! Wish I could offer more guidance.
Awesome video thanks Ashley it helped me a lot. I have a question about where can I source in Toronto while lockdown?
Sorry I can’t be of more assistance!

canada post prices are outrageous
This was very educational, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Great,, thanks!
Thanks for this video it was very informative. Where do you sorce your supplies?
Thanks for watching! I added a bunch of links in the description and get my supplies from all over! Many I recycle, Hero for compostable mailers, Amazon for some things, staples and Uline have many great options as well.
Excellent video . what would you suggest for shipping out handbags?
Tracy Afonso thanks for watching!! I haven’t sold a lot of handbags, but I would probably opt for a box with padding / bubble wrap to keep it safe!
Petra Mcneill thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful. No idea on discounts, though Black Friday will be coming up?
Sistah cool. I had the exact same question myself.
Thank you for the educational vids for selling on Poshmark Ashley. Much Appreciated!!
Thank you for sharing Ashley
You are so welcome! Are you selling on Poshmark?
Just curious if shipping includes sending in a box? Vs a poly bag? Does that make sence
@@ashleygibson1 Thank you so much for your reply Ashley!!!
I’m so glad it was helpful for you! 💕
I created an account to buy from Hero but Canada is not on their list of countries to ship to??
hi ashley, I was wondering if you have to pay when you drop off your orders? I know that the labels are pre paid by poshmark but just wondering if there are any added fees once you drop it off with canada post for it to be shipped. Thanks!
Hey Stephanie. No additional fees when you drop at the post office or in a mailbox! It’s all taken care of
Hi Ashley, thanks for the video.
Hey ashely do you know why my listings aren't showing when my setting is in Canada but are only showing when I switch it to the US?
Janet Zelin Lu very strange! I’m not familiar with this issue. Have a look at the settings on your account and maybe try contacting Poshmark support. I hope you’re able to get it resolved!
Hi Janet, I'm having this same issue, were you able to figure it out?
Hi, thank you for this video. All of your videos have been very helpful. Today a Canada Post worker told me that technically they should be getting the dimensions and actual weight listed on the package or technically they don't have to accept it. I messaged Poshmark about it and they said that they knew technically they can refuse it but their regular mailing labels are good for up to 2.5 kg and oversized mailers up to 5 kg. I'm going to talk to the post office tomorrow about it
I live in a small town and if they refuse packages this will be detrimental to my part time posh business!
Very helpful thank you 😊
Glad it was helpful!
super helpful, thank you
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for the video. How much did hero packaging charge you for shipping the mailers to Canada?
Tari Nouveau thanks for watching! I was charged $20 for shipping to Canada
Thanks for awesome video.
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Do you sell in Canada only? Have you considered selling in Poshmark US?
Mac- A-Holic thank you! I’m only selling in Canada. I’ve seen some folks get set up to sell in the US, and that’s not something I want to focus energy on at this time!
Thanks!💞 I'm completely new to this how do you upload your photos to make them look nice do you only sell one item at a time or can you sell multiple?
Hi Abbey! I think natural light and a neutral background can help to make photos look nice. In Poshmark, there are ways to list multiple quantities of an item. Once you start to use the app and play around, it will all start to make more sense!
@@ashleygibson1 Ok Thanks!!!!
Melissa Chen yes, that’s what I was doing too!
You’re adorable! Great video!
Jesslikes Pizza thanks so much for watching! 💖
Can we ship the dresses in box, instead of polymailer.will canada post charge extra for shipping in the box if we provide our own box
In Canada you can use whatever packaging you like - box, polymailer etc.
Does anyone know if we have to pay taxes on what we sell? Is there a minimum $ we have to hit?
I would connect with a tax / financial professional on this, as everyone's situation is unique! I met with a financial advisor a few months ago and it was super helpful to talk through it all
Hi Ashley
I also suffer from Canada Post-traumatic stress disorder from shipping items for my Etsy Store!
Thank you
Kayla
Anna Maria V hi Kayla!! Thanks for watching. On Poshmark, buyers pay a flat rate of $12.99 for shipping. The only time the seller incurs costs for shipping is if you offer a shipping discount (either $3 off or cover the full $12.99) Hope that helps!
What's the name of the machine that you PRInt the sticker for the package thanks Martha
Hi Martha! The printer is called the Dymo 4XL. The link is in the description of this video if you want to check it out.
Where do you buy everything for shipping???? Boxes, envelopes, polymailets etc.thankd
Hi Martha! I linked a bunch of the supplies I talked about in the description. I also love to use recycled packaging/boxes whenever possible
Hi Ashley, your video was very helpful. Thankyou for the info. 1 question i have. What would be the total shipping cost?
Thanks for watching! Shipping on Poshmark Canada is a flat rate of $12.99 and the buyer pays. As a seller, you’re able to offer a discount of $3 off or free ($12.99) and that comes out of your profit.
@@ashleygibson1 thanks a ton.
Hey Ashley! Wonder what boxes you use for shipping shoes and where you get them. Thanks!
Heather Adams hey! I use either recycled boxes from other deliveries or boxes purchased from Staples to ship shoes. I usually include a generous amount of recycled paper / packing materials so that they are snug in the box
@@ashleygibson1 awesome! Thanks Ashley! It's a great video, I appreciate all your great tips :)
Heather Adams really appreciate your kind words & support!!
Do canadians only ship within canada or to u.s. as well?
Again TY💋
How would you pack/ship a larger item such as a coat?
Jackie S for larger items, I’ve used boxes and that seems to work well! I try to keep boxes from shipments I get and recycle those for Poshmark.
i'm still confused about shippping on Poshmark. if the buyer is charged for the shipping, then the buyer must add that cost to the price of the item, is that correct? if so, then how does a buyer justify paying so much for shipping when the item itself is only $10...it would mean they pay more for the shipping then the item itself. i'm so confused, ugh
Yes, the shipping cost gets added to the item. For lower priced items, the $12.99 can definitely seem like a lot. But for $10, they’re likely getting a pretty good deal! It can definitely be beneficial for buyers to bundle multiple items together to get the most bang for their buck.
@@ashleygibson1 thank you

Hi Yani! Welcome to Poshmark. No, unfortunately you can’t (as far as I know) before I had a printer I would often print my labels at a local Staples or print shop.
@@ashleygibson1 so, if I print to Staples, I hv to purchase the sticker shipping label first?before I print it, right?
@@yanihasan788 nope! You can just print on regular paper and then attach it to your package. Canada Post will often have clear sticky pouches that you can use to easily attach the paper label to your shipment.

ashley gibson Nope, they just don’t reply.
