Born Rebel im sure back stage he dressed as Tootsie, Batman and Robin, Mozart, Michelangelo and Beethoven. The point is NO ONE ELSE DESERVED TO WEAR a COSTUME resembling a CLASSICAL PIANIST OR MUSICIAN but HIM. CHOPIN OR NOT. WHoever he was dressed as.

I was obsessed with Elton from the age of 6, and this was the first time I saw him with my mum and late dad.. December 86 in Sydney... I was 10 years of age and my mum always told the story that i just stood there with my mouth wide open the whole show in amazement - some 40 concerts later and nothing has changed.

I’ve always loved this song and Marilyn. I had a very bad addiction to pain pills prescribed by my doctor after a severe accident…an addiction that brought me so close to dying. To be honest, there’s no explanation why I didn’t die on several occasions during the six years I was addicted. My mom had told me she had already planned to play this at my funeral, because she was certain I wouldn’t survive. I’ve been sober for 12 years now. I’m so thankful I was given a chance at life again, unlike so many others that lose the battle.

Actually the writing credit is to both of them. I think there was more than a little autobiographical emotion in this song.. Elton had lead a similar life having to change his name, his appearance, and hide his sexuality to achieve fame. So many love Elton John without giving a second thought to Reginald Dwight.

    "Candle In The Wind"
    Goodbye Norma Jean
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
    While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They set you on the treadmill
And they made you change your name
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
    When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
    Your legend ever did
    Loneliness was tough
The toughest role you ever played
    Hollywood created a superstar
And pain was the price you paid
    Even when you died
Oh the press still hounded you
All the papers had to say
Was that Marilyn was found in the nude
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
    When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
    Your legend ever did
    Goodbye Norma Jean
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
    While those around you crawled
    Goodbye Norma Jean
From the young man in the 22nd row
Who sees you as something more than sexual
More than just our Marilyn Monroe
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
    When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you

When I was in the car I heard this song come on right after I turned the music on.
