    Hi friends, this week I'm offering you a 30 minute practice perfect for beginners! Now just because a class is for beginners, doesn't mean it isn't challenging! We are going to work on building foundational strength, balance and flexibility.
    We'll begin with a very short meditation to be grounded and then warming up the spine with some fluid motions. We'll then move to hands and knees and start to engage the abdominals which is key when it comes to improving balance.
    Our flows will take you through a Warrior sequence where we focus on alignment and breath to do the poses safely and effectively. I'm not using any props for this practice but you may want to have a block somewhere close by.

      I get confused whether to keep my toes touching and heels apart even when I move in to chair pose from mountain pose. It gives alot of stress in my knees if I keep my toes touching in chair pose. Am I not doing it right?

      It's different for everyone, if it stresses your knees then keeping your feet and legs hip width distance apart in both mountain pose and chair pose is the best option. If it feels okay, you can bring the big toes together and the heels apart slightly.

    I am not a commenter but I had to comment on this video. This was the best beginner yoga video I have seen. I was able to not continually watch the screen and still be able to know the moves you were doing. It was extremely descriptive and engaging. Wonderful Job!

    I’ve been dealing with severe depression and anxiety basically my whole life (I’m 26 now) and your videos have helped me like nothing else has. I have taken countless medications over the years and nothing compares to this. Yoga is the most amazing thing and I thank you so much for sharing your gift. :) it’s helped me so much!

    Never, ever, ever, have I enjoyed any type of yoga, ever. After years and years of avoiding it, I randomly searched for beginner yoga on UA-cam, and now I'm doing your videos a few times a week. The time flies by, I'm able to stay focused, and I also get a great stretch which is great since the other days I don't do yoga, I tend to do cardio/weights and really need a good stretch. The description of the moves is so perfect, I don't need to look at the screen constantly and can instead focus on form and breathing.

    A few poses were a bit difficult since I don't have a lot of core strength built up yet but I do love the mentions of like pushing shoulder blades together or pulling the shoulder back because I realize I wasn't doing those things and forces me to focus more on what each muscle is doing. Very informative. Great for this time of quarantine :)

    As a yogi who fell out of practice years ago, this sequence was wonderful! It's really refreshing to find a channel that isn't 100% power/flow/etc. (i.e. intense cardio) for advanced yogis. I'm really digging the variety on your channel, esp. yin yoga

    What I love about Kassandra is she does a great mix of working hard and allowing for breaks. You don’t dread the workouts and have to force yourself to do them. You look forward to doing them because you genuinely feel better during and after. Thank you K!!

    I have been searching around youtube for yoga classes and I must say I really love your style. You always give really clear instructions with the added benefit of modifications for beginners.     I know this video is a couple of years old, but it is one of my go to videos. It is the perfect pace. The holds are long enough that you can adjust your pose, but not so long your muscle is exhausted. Thank you.

    Kassandra, you have been a blessing to me. I have been able to maintain my practice through seven months of solitary practice. I am older and have a few chronic injuries. Haven’t been to my massage therapist or acupuncturist since the pandemic began, and so I am managing on my own. On days when something in my body flares up or I feel less energized, I do one of your beginner classes just to keep connected to my practice.

    I am over 60 and have been practicing daily yoga for 9 years. This class was enjoyable and doable for me, but no way is it for beginners: much too strenuous and intense. However, I love Kassandra's yoga classes. They are brilliant! Greetings from lockdown in Germany 🌻

    As a total beginner (and completely out of shape) I did this class for a week every day. In the beginning I was sweating like crazy (and hating her when I had to hold one position too long ahah) but now on day 7 I’m already sweating way less and I can hold positions without wanting to throw the TV out the window. For the next 7 days I’m gonna try another class of yours!:)

    Loved your class! I am 3 months post partum and I do A LOT of cardio. This is just what I need to help loosen up my muscles and strengthen my lower back and core.     I see that this is an older video. But I enjoyed it so much. It's perfect after an exhausting day, sitting mostly un a chair. I agree with other commenters, that you explain genuinely, I could follow the exercises without watching you. I'd be grateful, if you could recommend any exercises for upper back pain.

    Wow. This is my go to yoga video. You are the best instructor I’ve seen. I love how u let us know where to do less if we have to but without stopping. You calm demeanor is very soothing.     Wowww Kassandra 🙏 THISSSS is THEEE MOSTTT PERFECT intro to Yoga video I have EVERRR seen!! I have been yogi-ing;) with YOUUU for many months now!! I typically do your more intermediate flows however today my body was tired and I was going to skip yoga bc I have a super BZ day!! Howeverrr I just couldn’t bring myself to skip the post-yoga feels & peace☺️ And I heard your voice in my head and decided I needed an gentler flow to ease into my day!!! THISSS was EXACTLY what I needed and I am SOOO GRATEFUL 💛🙏💛

    I am not someone who would comment on any video but this yoga tutorial was so good that it forced me to do so. I came here to find peace as in the lockdown time I was not in a good mental state but this helped me feel so relaxed, happy and good about myself. This gave me a very postive and good vibe.     Beginner Yogi here - started doing yoga regularly 2-3 months ago.
    I saw some discussions about whether or not this class is a beginner class. And IMO it absolutely is.
    Why?
    - There are no super difficult poses (you don't have to shape yourself into a pretzel 😜)
    - Kassandra gives lots of cues, so that you can follow along without having to always look at the TV
    But it is a yoga practice for strength.
    So is it for all beginners? Probably not.
    If you are new to, or starting back again with physical exercise, something shorter (eg. 10 minute evening challenge) would probably be a good start for you.
    If you already have some strength from other workouts, but are new to yoga - this is the practice for you 😃👍
