Dre is a solid dude, bought my RHD from him back in November. Super informative, super communicative, and overall awesome dude. Visited his new shop two months ago and the cars there are legit. Recommend him anyday.

I get your take on this but you should if you treat the car like an asset (boring) or shouldn’t if you treat the car like a liability (fun)

I imported my S15, Evo, supra and r33 myself and it runs you about $2500 per car to get it in the country. Your biggest hurdle is getting the car on the boat.
1200/mo on a 10yr loan (for this GTR example) is handing the bank $800/mo in interest for the first 2yrs. This is absolutely horrible advice for someone that is not in the position to put down a LARGE down-payment. The kind of down-payment that could buy you an R35 with cash.
Please don't do yourself like this
I tell younger guys (under 30 years old) all the time to buy something newer. They see these UA-cam videos of these cars and think they will have these giant killer type cars, not knowing we've put like $40k+ to build these platforms. Plus the basic maintenance on these old cars is needed. So you'll need to spend like $50k-$60k to get that fine tuned 800rwhp jdm killer is perfect condition.
Buy a new C8, mustang gt, camaro SS, R35 gtr, Zupra, or equivalent with a warranty. Then mod that up. This 90s car game is for those who have money.
For all 15 years its 110,000 including down payment to drive a r34 gtt. 220,000 for the gtr. This is wild son. They lubing these boys up
As a supra owner, it's not really a numbers thing for me. I just prefer a lhd car in the states and it's just the version of the supra we all wanted over here, especially when that's all you knew growing up in the states. The jdm rhd coming in made them a little more affordable compared to the lhd cars so I do think there's a place for them. I'll add that I never obsessed over a car just for the fact of it being rhd. If they made a lhd chaser I'd own that over my rhd car since our country is based around lhd and that's the more comfortable driving position for me.
I believe there are 5x as many RHD MKIV Supras than LHD ones. Only 11,000 USDM MKIV Supras total and I think there were like 50,000 RHD ones.
Thats why our LHD ones are the most expensive, the low numbers.

For the fraction of the price you can get a jzx90/100 and get the same noises as a supra just rhd and 4 door which you cant beat.
People aren’t buying them for the motors anymore, it’s the name and mk4 body that sells itself.
In 2016 mk4 supras were like 8-10 for decent models and 20k and more for perfect models now the cheapest one I seen recently was 70k 😂😂
that's why I wouldn't buy one. but I would pay to rent one or ride in one.
For RHD ones. Not LHD turbo ones.
I bought in 2006 and turbo prices were in the $17k-$35k range. Non turbos were $ 8k - $15k roughly.

I don’t get why people hate rotary’s so much I have a FB with just under 600hp I drive it regularly and it was built right balanced and rotary aviation seals ported other than that the rest is all factory and he we are 8 years in still going strong and yes I do race it and it’s my 3 Rx7 and all of them run well

it's changing. it's definitely not dying I promise. Remember street racing became popular during prohibition and also the great depression. You can always get a cheap Honda and be almost untouchable don't loose faith

ah you young guys...I remeber motorex.. then the other jdm imported from fl..riv su or whatever. Id be worried about rust on a Canadian car but it seems a lot better option than going to Japan.

Tbh left-hand driver right hand drive is the same thing the only reason I would want a left hand drive supra is to build a screen accurate fast and furious Brian’s supra that’s if i could ever afford a LHD sport roof 1994 Toyota Supra most likely would get a 1991-1995 Audi s2 or any affordable Audi with the 80s turbo 5 cylinder 🤷🏽♂️

Wait 6k CAD?!! That can't be real. In NZ they were going for 20k to 50k NZD. That 6k is about 7k NZD. Either the dealership was ripping himself off or they were grossly undervalued in North America, which is still, unbelievable!
Mkiv supras were the average tuners car that we could buy to beat up on vipers, porches, lambos, corvettes ferarris etc for a fraction of the price. Now mkiv supras sell at super car prices, it became what it was meant to destroy. Sad but thats the market...glad I bought my two 1998 Supras early on before the hype.

Also a spoiled brat across from apartment complex who had a red mint 15th anniversary twin turbo Supra. He didn’t even know what he had said it was ok but he didn’t really like it. I was like dude you realize that this is the same car from fast and furious hat had just released. He was like really I didn’t know I’m not a car guy I think I’m going to trade for a bmw…. They had a guy who did all he maintenance and washed it daily..country club money😂
