    I just finished the install of this exact part number sub in my new 24 "High Country" diesel dually, you should make a note of those with the "factory Bose system" option will need to instead splice into the main Hugh wiring harness running down the left kick panel ;wires twisted Yellow/Yellow Black for green brown to connect requiring to cut the sheath protector (without slicing anything) which really sucks but done carefully by the Non Idiot works fine also it is "impossible" to run the long cable from "front to rear" as those connectors which plug to the amp are Hugh and will not feed through any channel on the sill so..The cable with the small plugs must be first fed from the rear to the front then connected afterward to the firewall Power wires previously fed through the wall..Also there is a plug 2 prong which goes nowhere (Bose system model) and is bundled up amp end..All this shit is never mentioned in the install instructions from Kicker...Something the first timer or amateur should know..I installed many so it was a no brainer..Their tech line is fast though for questions..No knob and mine kicks ass might try the knob though..Good vid though for the non Bose guy, thanks

    Great video! My kicker sub is sitting in my garage right now waiting to be installed I will be referring to this throughout the installation. Silly question, but on the battery would it still be stud #1 on the 6.6 duramax?

      Silly answer...yes! I don't think it really matters which stud you attach to on the positive terminal though. Have fun installing! I've done this install in a few other GM trucks. Check those out for some other tips and tricks!

      @@phil_hazzythanks for the reply Phil! I completed my install today with the help of your video. Unbelievable how much better the Bose system sounds I wasn’t expecting it to be THAT much better. Only difference was when I was fishing the wire I went from inside the cab and out with a coat hanger it appeared to come out of the same location. Hardest part was getting into the wiring harness to locate the splicing wires. Other than that super straight forward. Thank you again!!

    Hello,
    Sorry if I missed it but do you happen to have the part number for the bass knob? There are a few on Amazon and I’d like to make sure I get the right one.
    Thanks for your time…..

      Is there an opportunity to locate a subwoofer where the factory Bose one is placed? Without the factory Bose, is the wiring harness still in place with the center console?

      @@msfinch2930 I'm sure you could place one there but I doubt the writing harness would be present. The size of the sub would be small though.

    Is Los from Reddit.. love that color. I’m curious to know if this was a new kit or one from the previous trucks?
    The reason I ask, on FB groups and Reddit peps are saying their kit does not come with the dip switches and Port for the knob.
    So I wonder if it’s just them not knowing where it is and how to locate the bass knob port ..

    • @phil_hazzy
      @phil_hazzy  3 місяці тому +1

      Hey Los! Thanks for the compliment on the truck. This was a brand new kit direct from GM parts. If those other people can't find the port and switches, they're not looking in the right places 😁

      So the amps without the switches and bass knob port are actually the Covid era amps when there was a chip shortage. Kicker switched back in 2023 to the old style. So anything after 2021 and before 2023 does not have the amp switches or bass knob port 👍🏼 I called kicker to verify this info

    Comes with a capacitor I assume?

    • @phil_hazzy
      @phil_hazzy  23 дні тому

      It's fused but if there is a capacitor, it's internal to the electronics. That and it's only 200W.

      Hey thanks for the reply. I’ve been seriously considering this for my 2024 Sierra 3500 dually. I’m not 100% sure if I want the knob. Had a knob setup on my old car but I can’t for the life of me figure out where I’d place the dam thing. I thought about the spot you have yours in the video but that feels too much to reach it.
      I definitely want to avoid any direct drilling in any visible spots. Could always glue but where to run the wire if not exactly where yours is?

    • @phil_hazzy
      @phil_hazzy  23 дні тому +1

      @clydecash5659 pretty much anywhere you put it that's out of sight will be a bit of a reach but there's a couple of places that I like. Where I put this one is my favorite but there's a spot by the hood release that works too. Wiring can just stay behind the driver kick panel if you don't want to run under the carpet. I've also seen the knob placed below the HVAC controls. I'm not a fan of that placement because I like the clean look. Either way, it's up to you! Hit me up if you have questions!

    How do we really feel about this unit? 200 watts doesn't really sound that crazy?

    • @phil_hazzy
      @phil_hazzy  2 місяці тому

      Kicker did have a system that also added another amp for the rest of the speakers. That was a great system. Since they don't offer that one anymore I did add an Alpine amp for the other speakers and it sounds awesome now! The 200 Watts is plenty dedicated to the subwoofer. If you were close, I'd invite you over to take a listen!

    • @markmiller7426
      @markmiller7426 Місяць тому

      If you have separates (a individual amp for low mid and highs) then great but if not you'll over power the factory setup and hear sub drowning you out. For the factory setup its a good match and plenty at least in the factory Bose setup..Bigger amp maybe for larger sub/lower response may give you more rumble as your human ear can only hear so low on the frequency scale but then your into the "where am I gonna fit this thing at"..Its a nice setup for a factory install and really sounds surprisingly deep. I used to do all the crazy shit $$$ now my hearing is going along with it all being old tech now..lol
