OK, here's an exhaustive list of (probably) everything I mentioned in the video if you'd like to duplicate my setup, as well as some helpful links to other educational resources on using the software I mentioned. If I missed anything, PLEASE bring it to my attention in the comments, below. Cheers! Glad to be back on UA-cam. Keep it civil and friendly, down there.

Basically this video is supposed to cover what you'd need to start making tutorials. There are two branches: exhaustive, and requisite. The requisites for making a compelling tutorial would be a microphone, laptop, and some editing software. That's it. If you'd like the exhaustive list:

I made a mistake - oopsie poopsie. The title that randomly flashes up during the ad break at 17:10 - should be at 19:21. I don't feel like editing this and re-uploading.
So I think to myself "I wonder what my boy Gardner is up to these days?", so I come on here and he's had a baby! Congrats brother! Hope you're winning at life!
Heart on my sleeves for you, Gardner.
You were the first musician channel that I subscribed to. I had never even used Discord before I found out that you had a server. Coffee Time was the first time I showed a complete stranger my music. I was driving back to my home town across the country from my point of separation from the military and when I crashed in a hotel, I watched the first episode of Coffee Time where you reviewed my music. Even though my music was unusual, you continued to encourage me. You gave me a community and people to bounce my musical madness off of. I met people whose company and opinions I value. I also met Mussar.
Even more than that, I began to model parts of my lifestyle off of you. You looked at musical equipment and said, "I can build that". I saw that as a challenge, so I built my own instruments. You work hard to reduce your waste and live an environmentally friendly life, and I try hard to do the same. I think you and your channel made me a better and more mindful person, and I'm more grateful to you than I can describe. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for passing this torch.
"She likes touching soft things" LOST MY SHITTTT. lmao
glad to see you back
The return of the King! Nice to see you back here man!!!
Ayyyy *
Hey man, thanks so much for making this! I've been stacking up tutorial and other content ideas for years now, and I'm currently gearing up to launch a channel next year. So great timing!
Glad I could help! If you've got anything specific, throw it at me.
Loved it!
Fucc YES the BOI is BACK
good to see ya bud
Cool to see you back! I like the editing on this one, meme cuts were perfect. Also the hoodies are actually dope looking. I like the falling away astronaut, might actually nab it for myself. You shoulda do some from scratch tutorials in the future. I always enjoy seeing 15-20 minute from scratch tutorials either emulating someone's style or original genre specifics. Something akin to what Ssavid or Oversampled are dropping lately. Just figured you might want to know what a dude like me who watches production tutorials all the time, would want.
Oh interesting! You think people might watch that? I find that when I try to write a song it's too insular for people to relate to. Not the case?
@@GARDNSOUND I tend to enjoy them more then just remakes which is what you seemed to lean into before you went baby dark. Although, I never really checked your stream so I am not sure what you do there. Just telling you I enjoyed your older content like making a song in style off, more then remakes. Both channels also tend to inject the videos with "meme editing' as I call it, and I find it entertaining. Like the little snippets of humor you had in this video! I wish you luck with your comeback. I always think you should have bigger audience.
A sight for sore eyes. Thought the algorithm was toying with me. Good to see you!
I often find myself wishing you well at random times
Aw, thanks for watching friendo. I appreciate ya.
Solid video. One other thing I would like to add is that you can get a camlink4k that can stream your camera into OBS over it's HDMI, so you can essentially ditch SD cards entirely if you're at your PC. I'm pretty impressed by that Takstar shotgun. I'd even say it sounds better that a Rode VideoMicro.
We are kindred spirits man! I also ditched Adobe entirely after using DaVinci. I'm using a trifecta of open source/free software these days, Blender/DaVinci/Reaper. I've been setting up lots of things for my channel as well during this quarantine shit..but....that last bullet point is 100% real. Health and wellness shows on screen, especially if you light your shot poorly, often emphasizing huge eye bags and trash hair and stuff. Anyways, cheers man, glad you're still doin' it.
Yo! Small warning about the camlink 4k. leaving your censor on like that is not what most DSLR video cameras were designed for - and it has a tendency to increase burnout. Just watch the heat in the camera and you should be fine.
He's back !!!!!!!!! Loving the video. Hopefully you are going to make moar.
That's the plan!
Coming back to this months later.
Hello old man, long time no see! 😁
Yeeeeee booooooooooiiii
Eees back
I just built my pc and i think its time i build a youtube channel. This couldnt have come at a better time
Seriously thank you so much for this video its just what i needed at the perfect time. I think its time i 180 my life/perspective and this was the push i needed
Really great stuff about how to get a good camera shot & also your perspective/insight on content creation is priceless.
As a music producer i really dont know anything about cameras or editing videos so im looking forward to learning how to make my content look professional. Definitely going to be following this series closely
Right on! Anything specific that you'd like to know?
@@GARDNSOUND i graduated with a degree in marketing analytics so ive been through business school/branding courses but its something ive struggled with for 5+ years. I know your brand should be easy to say & spell, should be unique for search engine optimization, and reflect your project but my brain shuts down thinking about it. I was considering just using my real name but its hard to spell, long, and greek so im not sure if people could find me easily. Maybe if you have some tips on branding thatd be very useful
On that train of too:
-would love to know how to make a logo
-what kind of legal protection do i need (llc, copyright, trademark, etc)
-how to monetize your content/other sources of income to fund youtube
-do you need a website/how to make one
-overall cost of legal protection/website etc has held me back as well as i am currently unemployed and owe $19k in student loans. Would love to know more about the overall costs/what i should expect to get myself into because going in blind is scary
-how to make a proper intro/outro
-how to set a schedule/routine to stay ontop of content creation without burning out
-tips for the youtube algorithm to start getting exposure on your channel
"IT'S YA BOI!!!"

Nice eurorack you got build up there 👌👍
Appreciate that, friendo.
HE BACC!!
MA BOIII!II!!!!!!!
How to make UA-cam comments: firstlol
(seriously can't wait to watch this though)
Closing video now lol
hair. on. point.
8:35 Just as white as I remember ya, Gardner
How are you going to go about picking songs/artists to do tutorials on? Will you take requests? I need some Eastghost reese bass sound design help
I might. I'm sort of burned out on the "how to make x artist" formula. That's one of the reasons I've been avoiding vids. That was such a part of my channel's identity for a long time. I feel like the excitement just isn't there for me anymore. I've done a tutorial on reese basses though - have you seen it?

@@GARDNSOUND I understand. I liked learning techniques and knowledge from those videos. It’s hard to find tutorials of your quality anywhere. Only other place would be Mr. Bill or Synthhacker
Hey man, how is everything going? You Still running the handyman gig?
Yeah boi! It's a legit gig now, full LLC and everything. Thanks for watching.
Also do you have to have the cool sunglasses to be a youbtuber
DUH!
