This is the MOST convoluted setup configuration ever. Needs to be revamped to it's simplest form for non techies.
After 2+ hours of frustration trying every imaginable combo of Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity permutation and setup scenarios (yes, including starting off with admin/admin), I *FINALLY* found the breakthrough at 4:10 !!! I rebooted the Amcrest camera pressing the green button, then the setup worked fine the first time!

My husband and I spent $108 on this camera.... We can not get it to connect to wifi for nothing!!! Our connection runs at 12.2 mbps. We have tried for HOURS! Nothing! 😡😡 It will not connect to any device.
The support team is very helpful. They are in India and got me going.
I do have problems with the cell phone not staying connected and I have to go through allot of the procedures to get it going again.
"Failed to connect" "User name and password is incorrect"
This is not plug and play. Spent 2+ hours trying to get this to work. Will be returning.
After they updated their app 4 years ago, I never got another camera to connect to the app wirelessly during setup. Had to ALWAYS use the ethernet cable. Insanely frustrating.
Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.
have so much problems with playbacs and use, så are changing all the 9 cams we have. Not a good interface unless you are a tech geek.
I don't have issue setting up however when I remove Ethernet cable to set up elsewhere it states unauthorized can't seem to reconnect. Have deleted and reconnected multiple times very frustrating to start all over again.
Totally agreed. What if the LED light does not turn green?

Hold down the light button until it blinks red. Then it will turn to blinking green after it reboots.
The app populates only my 5ghz Wifi network (I suspect because that's what my iPhone is using) for the camera, not the 2.4. How do I get it to populate a list of names or let me enter the one I want?
The WIFI camera only works on 2.4ghz, with that the resolution is 720p. If you want 1080p you will have to connect to an Ethernet cable. Almost all WIFI cameras work this way.
I had it on 2.4 but my internet provider upgraded modems an they operate on 2g. an 5g only now

Hi, I've ha this camera for a few years and its worked great. I recently changed the router and cant reconnect to wifi. the camera is mounted to the ceiling so I dont want to take it down to reconfigure. Is there a way to do this? I've gone through the app top to bottom and cant find it. Thanks
Hold down the little lit up button on the back for 20 seconds, don't release it till the light blinks out and then begins to blink red. Release the button and wait till it begins to blink green and then begin setup.
Can we use it using LTE?
Does the camera and app make a direct connection when you aren't on a local network or does it go through the amcrest servers?

It may be audio feedback. May if it was moved so the audio reflexions don't get reflected from input to the output.

This camera is the most frustrating pile of garbage I've ever had. Simply put, IT DOES NOT WORK. Set up usually takes 10- 25 times! Yes that's right over and over and over and over doing the same exact thing then finally, if you're lucky, it connects. Then it magically disconnects and guess what, you start over again. Screw you Amcrest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So my camera is connected to about four other devices, an app per each person, but for the fifth device, I use the same method and after entering the password, it just says “failed to connect.” What would be the issue? Anyone have any suggestions?
This could be for a number of different reasons. Please email details about which devices are connected and whether or not you have a NVR/DVR to support@amcrest.com and they will assist you.

Hello, yes more than one person can access the camera if they have the username/password to the account. However, be careful with that information so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

this only shows local viewing. not remote setup... all your videos need to be redone with someone who knows what they are doing...
