I think Mihawk still stands firm in his portrayal.
Of course a little bit more of a showcase could never hurt, like if we got to see the aftermath of his battle with the marines would have been great to see but it is what it is. People have been using these events with Shanks to downplay Mihawk but I think it just adds to his hype.
If Shanks can get stronger and look this beastly then Mihawk fighting armies solo should look just as good. We just have to be patient to get the full payoff.

Oda maybe setting up a three way battle Strawhat vs Cross Guild vs Redhead.
Shiryu was above Blackbeard on par with Magellan pre time skip without a devil fruit. He helped guard the strongest prisoners in the world. 2 years later and I feel Shiryu could definitely be a top teir contender. Zoro had a duel with Kuina be taken from him so it is not so far a stretch that he has a duel with Mihawk be taken as well. But Mihawk is now hunting marines and has the strongest blade that we know of, and he obviously got passed whomever they sent after him. With that and how I don't see a Buggy/Blackbeard interaction happening until the end of the story Mihawk is still the top goal for Zoro for now. Remember Mihawk was originally referred to as red eyes and he may have ties to I'm, Shanks, and/or Blackbeard.

And honestly i don't use marineford as a power scaling tool. it's just too wack. Oda had not figured out exactly everything, Imo.

This whole buggy cross guild thing that hunts marines could actually be a way for oda to give Mihawk a bounty so we can establish somewhat where he is.
So maybe have MIhawk defeat an admiral fairly mid diff, or have him do something equal to what shanks did to green bull.
Like just imagine if we cut to Mihawk having just defeated fujitora and a small army of marines, and he looks fairly clean. Shit would be wild. then in the same chapter hit us with the 4b+ bounty.
Not sure zoro fans and mihawk fans could handle such hype.
Also speaking of swordsmen, i really hope that Oda gives Zoro some proper 1v1 fair swordsman vs swordsman fights now. We got vista, rayleigh, i guess fujitora somewhat. Even shanks.

Guys, i think Mihawk was very boring in his life since its been a very long time no one challenging him after his fight with shanks. If i were him ive already retire just like Rayleigh but then he choose to side with buggy so that he can still freely do whatever he wants, he has nowhere to go

i was one of the biggest mihawk supporters for a long time but what i hate the most in these discussions that ppl no matter what new evidence surface they will always try to spin it like "its fine, nothing changed" , thats a killer for me
like u cant look at recent years and say that admirals are equal to yonkos or mihawk is equal to shanks and be serious , thats just my opinion
i would've loved if shanks was just a stepping stone and Mihawk is the real deal but Oda is going out of his way to prove the opposite, for me mihawk is wasted for shanks fans its expected but either way you're coping if u think "mihawk portrayal is fine"
i agree his portrayal has defo been hurt but I think we have to trust that he's the strongest swordsman in the world to pay off. meaning he should be over shanks and look at shanks' portrayal of recent

people just decide to forget all the portrayal that has been given, people just disregard it without any argument given.
Mihawk is said to be the strongest, is said to look for someone stronger than shanks, has whitebeard level feats casually at marineford, he is not portrayed as arrogant but a realist who acknowledges when someone is stronger than him and still he looks down on shanks having one arm, he is portrayed as Shanks's rival without fail

No, they are presented as rivals and if theres someone who values honor thats Mihawk.
You really have to stretch it to think characters like Mihawk or Zoro would be arrogant and talk like that KNOWING someone is steonger than them.

They both got stronger and they are presented each time as rivals.
Anyways, the info we have points at Mihawk being steonger, the title, the blade, the story between them, the statements from mihawk, etc
While Shanks is supposedly steonger based in the assumption that he got stronger while they werent fighting, and for some reason Mihawk didnt catch up.
You can speculate that, sure, but right now thats not what the info we have points to.
And yeah, cutting the frozen tsunami is a scale pretty much equal to what Whitebeard was doing, in fact its pretty much what Whitebeard does later, destroy the other one.
