You clearly have no idea "portrayal" means. Mihawks title has nothing to do with his portrayal. Portrayal is how a character is treated everythime they're on screen. And a hard pill you'll never swallow is that Mihawk has been portrayed like an absolute bum that nobody besides zoro cares about for the entire series. He fought in a war only for not a single character there to give a shit about him. Mihawk isn't stronger than Shanks for the same reason he isn't stronger than Roger. Because his portrayal is piss poor compared to either of them.

Mihawk is definately a Powerhouse. Remeber he was introduced as someone who sails the entire grand line by himself. A person who had no problems leaving the grand line to chase someone cause he was bored. While swordsmen are definitely not the strongest the world has to offer, they are most definitely the 2nd strongest it has to offer.

I have a hot take here. If Zoro actually fought Katakuri he might even had a fair chance of defeating Kaido. Idk if he would defeat him or not. (Probably not but he would be tiers above gear 4th luffy even though current Zoro is already same tier or stronger then Gear 4 luffy he scared kaido while not even knowing whats Kings haki is so I think he scales above gear 4 luffy.) So I think that if he was to fight Katakuri he would be able to tap into future sight same way Zoro did not only that I think this will be the fight where he unlocks kings haki. If he was to train using his two of the biggest new power ups. (Future sight and Kings haki) and combine with Enma plus the boost he gets from pushing his body to its limit. I think he will be strong enough to Give Kaido a very tough fight. You might think I am glazing Zoro. But Zoro has higher iq then Luffy. Much more determination to get stronger then Luffy. Around the same battle iq as luffy. The dude fights with a sword in his mouth he must have high battle iq. Obviously not, that means that after zoro defeats mihawk there will be an enemy for zoro that he has to defeat, and that enemy narratively needs to be stronger than mihawk.
