- In this video we use computers and science to actually test if the Flowmaster Delta Force Cold Air Intake install on the AutoEdits Jeep Wrangler actually makes a difference in the inlet air temperature... this is a fun one!
There's a lot going here... first I'll run you through the items I'll be using in the video like the Delta Force Cold Air Intake, the tuning module from HPtuners called the MPVi2 and the VCM Scanner software... running on my super sweet Alienware 13 laptop.
We'll go for a run in the Jeep with the stock air box and set a baseline for what intake air temperatures we see.
Then we do a very detailed removal of the stock intake and assembly and installation of the Flowmaster kit. After that... it's out for another run with the HPtuners software data logging all our information and see if the new Cold Air Intake lives up to it's namesake!
*One side note: This particular intake is in the process of getting CARB certification in California so check the website at the link below for it's availability there... otherwise... get one in the other states now!
Please give me a follow over there on the Instagrams:

Holy shit he installed a cold air intake in CALIFORNIA????? Careful Jason, they might be coming to seize all of your vehicles now! 😂 great video, definitely going to get one now
It's getting scary around here right now! This intake is still getting the CARB certification and not for sale yet in CA but is 49 state legal right now.

I installed an Injen CAI in my '13 Sahara and added the performance tune from a FlashPac w/ throttle adjustment. It made a world of difference and cost me less than $500. When I had some work done at a garage my mechanic told me the Jeep took him by surprise at how much quicker it was over other Jeeps he's taken out. I can't imagine my Jeep without one now. I also have a prefilter but I haven't installed it yet. Love your videos and your Jeep man!!
I put a s&b intake with the dry filter on my 2013. nice throttle response and you definitely can hear the intake system now. plus S&B stands behind their product and if there is ever a warranty issue they will cover the bill. After a 3k trip including really dusty roads. Pulled off intake from throttle body and and no dust was present in the body. Very nice filtering job. Great video Jason
Thanks! Glad to hear you like your system and it worked well!
Great video. Something I notice that you did not mention, was how to clean a paper filter.
Some of people that watch this video. Probably have never cleaned a paper filter. With that in mind, I think it's worth mentioning this helpful tip. When and if they decide to clean their filter (regardless whether it is paper or a rechargeable K&N style) out with an air hose they will want to.blow the air from the inside towards the outside. As opposed to blowing from the outside in, this will prevent from pushing the dirt further into the filter.
Other then that one small detail good video. I like the way you made it comically in some spots. Little stuff like that helps too take some of the anxiety out of putting parts on your vehicle.
Thanks for a great review and installation.
Thank you so much! I do appreciate the tip on how to clean the filters as well!
Glad I had something to add to help out. I really have enjoyed your videos so I've because a subscriber to your channel. You got a lot of reading good stuff and I love the wheerling videos as well. Looking forward to your new footage in the he future.
i give you credit for staying in character. LOL... I had an early K&N intake on my 3.8 JK. I took it off. The "cool rumble" sound of acceleration was so loud, it resonated inside the cabin. I couldn't carry on a conversation with my wife. It got old, real quick. Went back to the stock intake. This weekend, I'm putting on a copy version of the AEV snorkel. Why? Because I can. Thinking I'll do a video of it if time allows. I currently have a Diablo Sport Trinity tuner. Thought about HP a while back, but they didn't have support for my Jeep back when I looked. Nice that they do now. I may go that way some day. Might be nice to have with my '15 Ram as well.
LOL, thanks.... Yeah I'm liking the HPtuners more and more. Just as an exercise... connected to the wife's VW today and it has an amazing amount of parameters to adjust. Seems cool to use it on all of my vehicles, Jeep/truck/ VW.
great video buddy. I can even tell a slight difference in mine, but I do run a jet chip and hiket throttle body controller which makes the jeep shoot out like a rocket. great job, Erik wva jeep community.
I think the combination of those parts is exactly how to maximize the efficiency!
@@AutoEdits yes sir, and thank you. I also run a different system on my crankshaft. it has is own air filter system and doesn't pull from the main one. now im thinking of putting a turbo kit on it. Erik wva jeep community
Next port and polish the throttle body. It will increase throttle response.
I have been watching your videos for awhile now, the funny thing is half the upgrades I have done were because of your videos and the other half I have done on my own and a few weeks later you have a video out on the same thing lol power stop brakes, flow master exhaust and cold air intake, 37s, metal cloak lift, manual trans, full metal armor around all sides, side by side our Jeep’s are practically the same minus the looks/accessories lol
This is AWESOME to hear! Great minds and all that!
The video was worth it for the Adel clamps alone!
HA! Well, glad to help.
I installed a Spectre cold air intake on my dodge ram 1500, 2008 4.7L, I have not been disappointed with it yet. I have actually seen an improvement in my gas mileage and greater acceleration, but it does lag at a certain point. Overall great video as usual, love the Ram!
My only pet peeve with this video is That's not a mass air flow sensor it's a intake air temp sensor!!!! Mopar Dodge Ram or Jeep doesn't use mafs!!! they use map sensor and air intake temp and o2 sensors to adjust fuel trims it's speed density. Just want you to be informed good video always enjoy your videos nice quality
Yes, thanks for the correction! Even the instructions say that but of course I wasn't reading those... I appreciate you dropping knowledge in a constructive way!!!
@@AutoEdits I wasn't trying to be an ass about it. I Hope it didn't come across that way. UA-cam has way too much negativity as it is. I think we can share knowledge and information without being harsh with one another. I know you was just calling it it would be on most vehicles. Its Semi Petty i know Mopar has their own way of doing things. Your video quality is top notch and informative. Keep up the great quality content.
Yeah bud! I meant thanks and genuinely appreciate the way you did it.... and actually dropped knowledge... all good and you are right about the internet being a bit too negative sometimes. This is great stuff!
Add a throttle body spacer. The spacer doesn't do much by itself but with the cold air intake it makes a difference. Not much but something. Try it out. I don't like the top heat shield. It doesn't prevent much heat but it does take away from airflow. Try it, if you like it you're welcome 😁
I had a similar setup and was a great improvement but after a while I wanted more so I installed a RIPP Supercharger.
OH YEAH! I would love to upgrade to a super charger on this rig... seems like it would be awesome!
AutoEdits I was a little hesitant about the price tag of a supercharger but after installing it, it’s definitely worth it.
Still drawing hot air so its really the same type as factory, just less restriction in the intake.
I explain all of these things in this video and show data that it actually does cool intake temps by 10 degrees.
I like how well a blazer works with a jeep hat.
I was pleasantly surprised by that as well... LOL
I think cleaning the mass air flow sensor and throttle body did more than the new intake and had you done that before changing the intake the result would have probably been the same. I just do not see 200- 400 dollars worth of performance. Great vid, got a chuckle from your get up.
Cold air refers to getting outside air instead of under hood air into the engine. Also the filters are typically higher surface area = lower pressure drop. Reducing inlet and exhaust pressure drop is key
I have been looking at getting a "cooler air intake" for my Jeep, so its good to see that they do work. I also had a nice chuckle when you were talking about the design of a Jeep being "quiet"
Thanks for checking this one out. I recommend doing this upgrade, whichever brand you like, it's a fun one!
its one of my favorite mods it makes my jeep sound like a v8 with a mufller delete !
Jeep Engine Bay Tip: Carefully rest the hood against the top of the windshield next time. You'll have much more room, light, and won't have to keep dodging the hood prop rod.
That is a great reminder!
You were NOT kidding about that trim piece being a pain. Longest part of the whole install!
HA!
Since it’s not available in California, I had to have my dad in Arizona buy it, and then ship it to me. I also bought the Flowmaster cat-back exhaust to go with it.
Awesome to hear! That's some clever shipping! I still like the intake, really comes alive when you let it rev!
You didn't even get the Blazer dirty!! Nice job great video!
LOL... Skillz... except for the part of calling the air temp sensor the mass air flow sensor... other than that... skillz! LOL
Great choice running a dry filter. Only thing to in the desert.
Glad to hear that!
Hey I got a K&N cold air intake and same results as yours. Love it. Can you do a review of the B&M shifter you installed - maybe likes and dislikes
I'll put a long term review video on the to do list... I talk about it in this video a bit ua-cam.com/video/jz6LRWB-Z9M/v-deo.html
Very Much enjoyed the extra sillyness in this video. 72° Is a huge win!
I use K&N filters in both my Broncos and have had MPG gains every time I've installed one. But I have noticed the oil does travel through and gunks up my MAF sensor. MY Bronco that uses a MAP sensor hasn't had the same issue.
Good information! Thanks for checking in dude!
You are using too much oil.
@@2003evodave Could be, but I'm still using my filters as they came straight out of the box.
Great vid and great detail. A lot of folks have already said what I was thinking. Oiled filters aren't the best for dusty environments and I worry about water crossing with that design. When i installed my TRD CAI on my 17 Tacoma, Toyota gives you a wide open 'mouth' piece to replace the stock fender intake piece. However, the diameter of the mouth piece was the same except the stock one was shrouded 180* on the bottom side to prevent water intake. I left it since i felt the protection from sucking in water was of greater value vs. the 1cfm (assuming) of more airflow.
Be neat to see a snorkel test next after some time with this setup.
Good input! We'll see... not sure if I'm a snorkel guy... yet...
the butt dyno 🤣🤣. I love it.
It's an actual important factor! (and funny)
Good sport, keeping that blazer on through the whole video.
HA! The struggle was real!!!! LOL

My body is ready.
OH MAN! You gave me a pretty good LOL from that one.... Thanks!
The "cold air intake" is definitely a mod I have gone back and forth on doing. Very interesting to see that it does indeed bring cooler air into the engine. My big issue is that my Jeep does see some water crossings...though, I usually go very slow through them. Many people have said that if you want a "true" cold air intake, you need to do a snorkle set up as it pulls air from completely outside the engine bay. Would be interesting to see the air temp comparisons between the tradtional cold air intake and the snorkle as well as if you still have the increase in throttle response/fuel mileage.
These are really fun upgrades to do for me and this one actually showed improvement both in actual data and in feeling behind the wheel so it was a big win. Maybe in a few months I'll do a snorkel and see the difference there!
Great video Jason. I especially liked the fact that you combined evidence based findings with your personal feelings about the CAI. After all, who cares what the research says if we don't like it. I live in Florida where if you are going to add a CAI, you might as well add a snorkel instead which have been said to possibly provide cooler air to the engine. From all the looking and reading I have been able to find it seems that all the evidence provided for or against snorkels is subjective. At the very least a snorkel does provide a higher air intake than the stock intake. Whether this can provide consistent protection for flooding is another matter. Does this protection warrant daily use at the possible loss of performance? Does the snorkel even affect performance? The only real evidence I have been able to find was the "Jeep JK RIPP Supercharger SNORKEL TEST" videos run by RIPP Supercharger. These tests seem to suggest that adding an above the fender snorkel (AEV style) with what seems to be a prefilter, does restrict airflow and thus reduces HP. But I question the validity of this test in terms of being indicative of snorkels in general. For one, the test uses a specific snorkel with an attachment that may be the cause of airflow restriction. Secondly, the test is run in a garage. This hardly replicates real driving conditions, specifically the ram air effect that could possibly increase the airflow lacking in the test results.
I have a hard time accepting that no one has taken the time to properly test performance with a snorkel versus without a snorkel. I am encouraged by anecdotal evidence by owners who have added snorkels, but would like to see this backed by research based evidence.
Does you know of a valid and reliable real world driving test that suggests whether performance is hindered or bolstered by the addition of a snorkel?
You always do such a great job. Thanks for the info and making it a bit funny!
Thank you!!! I really appreciate that you watched and took a moment to say something nice!!!!!
Yes Jason! Lovin’ the dapper look for SCIENCE! Great video as always dude!
HA! thanks so much!!!!
For future reference, do not stick your finger into a drive by wire throttle plate. They will lose calibration and their home setting, causing idle surge and no start conditions. If you need to open it for any reason, key on-engine off and wedge the accelerator open to open the plate. Then carry on cleaning.
That is really great advice and totally makes sense!
J Hol, that’s not true.
@@sawgrasssouvenier7693 it's absolutely true. I'm a service writer that had plenty of curious old-school techs that were to tempted to put their finger in there. Had to recalibrate them for idle surging afterwards

Nice video. Someday, can you do a video about how to film an off-road adventure? How you mount the cameras....what types of cameras....best places to put them.....drone work....etc... More and off-road enthusiasts are filming trail rides and you would be a great source of knowledge considering your experience in off-road videography. .
Thanks, here's a quick video guide... Buy a gopro (2 if you can afford it) get some editing software and go on adventures. Aim the cameras at cool stuff and sometimes talk to them like they are your good buddy... slap all that together and post on the interwebs. Next thing you know... you're a celebrity!
I might have missed it, but was the ambient air temp the same during both tests? That might impact the results slightly. Testing in the cool of the evening vs. noon would make a difference I think. Nice video.
That is a legit question and you didn't miss it... I accidentally cut that sentence out on accident while trying to make the video shorter... The ambient was exactly the same... 60 degrees F
The whole video I couldn’t stop thinking about the jacket getting dirty...
HAHA! I did good on that !

@@AutoEditsjust trying to help wherever i can ! Nice video once again bro
Good video as always. Thanks Jason. I'm excited to see what the capabilities of the HP tuners software is, I'm on 40s now and running 4.88s. I'm hoping to see what I can do save for forced induction to get the Rubi alittle more pep around town. On the trail it works perfectly fine however.
You know, the only thing I would want a supercharger for is around town and highway driving. Good gearing does the job on the trail but just being sluggish in normal traffic is frustrating!
Great details and very knowledgeable. Great video 📼.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video like always, cant wait for more Ram videos. Keep up with the great work. I too run Alienwear for my graphic sign works. Are you running a hp tune on the Ram?
I love my Alienware and my Ram! I don't have a tune yet in the Ram but did use the software to make a few changes. Tire sensors and speedometer adjust etc. I really like that about the HPtuners setup... many vehicles with the same stuff. I'm torn on what to do with the truck... it runs really strong and the transmission shifts great.... not sure what I need "tune" wise for it and I don't want to run 91 octane. It kicks butt with 87 (and gets 12mpg) so I like it that way. What do you suggest?
I love your ram, I'm running the diablo tuner with 93 tune, cold air, borla cat back. Also it has a six inch lift sitting on 35" toyos. It gets 15 in the city, and 19 on the highway. Too bad you can't put in the 8 speed transmission.
Lol "do science " I don't know why but that made me laugh. Needed that thanks.
Glad to hear! Thanks for giving it a watch!
Love it, but three-button is a little 90s.
Great job, I followed your video over the instructions provided and the cold intake on my JK installed perfectly, appreciate you.
PS, how did you keep those pretty hands so clean😀
Glad it helped! I wore my grease monkey gloves... check here for a set! www.amazon.com/shop/autoedits?listId=2V9OUZO8OUU3D
From what I’ve been told from tuners is that when you add a cold air intake, you need to also tune the computer for more airflow or else your computer will just start to compensate for the extra air and over time (no clue how long) you will be back to regular power numbers. Someone please correct me if this info is wrong. Would like to see some dyno numbers before/after install as well as a month down the road.
It is always better to tune for what components you have but your vehicle will deal with the cold air intake just fine on its own.
Howdy Jason, I'm wear pajamas watching you install cool stuff on your jeep.
HAHA! That is awesomely funny... thanks!
I still want those 6 pack shocks from Metal Cloak
Thanks... it is a great video and you're right I have the same system on my JK and it feels great...
YEP!
So what's the horsepower and torque increase over stock?????
I don't know. The dyno sheet that comes with it says about 10 or so. Just enough to feel a difference.
Great video, I was learning and laughing at the same time. Once again thanks for all your videos
Just installed mine.
Great work Jason.
How would u compare a cold air intake with a snorkel?
I guess they would be very similar in terms of air temp and performance. Plus, a snorkel should provide a cleaner air since it's a 4x4. Volant makes a great snorkel/intake combo. What do u think? Jason Holmes part 2 coming up!
HAHA! Yes, the snorkel by design is the most effective "cold air" intake but I'm not a fan of how they look... especially since I almost NEVER encounter deep water crossings... Kind of like driving around with a surf board on the roof rack but don't live near the beach...LOL
@@AutoEdits Good point.
It's nice to see you did the test, but for better results you need to make sure the tests (the before and after) are the exact same temperature under the hood, and external, but it does clearly show you that a drop of almost 20 degrees is significant.
What Jason does when his wife is busy getting ready for their fancy dinner party. “And in your good jacket?!!!”
Except for the fancy dinner party.... truth... LOL
I'd love to see the air/fuel ratio on both. Would be a great way to see if the upgrade worked
I can make that happen.
Quick question Jason, the data does indeed show "cooler" temps but what about ambient temperatures. What was the outside temp when establishing your stock baseline compared to the outside temp after the cold air intake was installed and tested.
Good question, it was 69 degrees for both test.
I have grown to dislike oiled air filters. At least up here on dusty dirt roads, they require WAY more maintenance. And testing hasn't shown they block much more than a good paper element. The one thing to be aware of is the stock air filter housing is safer in water crossings. The CAI can be more dangerous as there is no where for the water to go but into the engine.
Good info! Fortunately, water crossings aren't really a thing for my normal terrain... but watch, now that we talk about this... next trip.... sunk!
@@AutoEdits time for a snorkel!
First time I've ever seen an air filter condom!
🤣
dirty throttle body and dirty MAF sensor hmmmm!! OK, the k&n is supposed to be filtering air? That's an easy way to know your airfilter isn't working that well. Eeeesh!!
New setup is nice, but IMHO for your setup not necessary. But, it is still a fun option. Your Rubicon is wicked COOL!!
Someone suggested that I might be using to much oil but there was a lot of dirt in that muck so I'm glad to be giving this a try!
I think that is from the blow-by of the motor
The 3.6 pentastar has Fame of blow by oil from the engine
Some people like to put catch can oil between that hose in the throttle body that helps also when you are in a really steep angle that way you don't hydrolocked motor with the oils coming from your motor to the throttle body it allowed to burn the fumes from the motor but not the oil
Hey man. That's from blow by through the PCV system. You know. That hose he connected after the filter from the crank case...
Nothings wrong with the k&n filters it's the oil from your engine and it's completely fine, some use a catchcan if legal
I find the whole "cold air" thing suspect as you are still drawing your air from the exact same area under the hood. I suspect that any performance gain would likely be due to increased air flow....removing that factory intake tube deleted a lot of detours. If you want cooler air you would need to draw from outside via an air scoop or snorkel. Most people assume snorkels are for water crossing but the real benefit is from drawing cooler air and the ability to pre filter your intake system in high dust areas. If the butt dyno likes it....well then it was worthwhile.
I agree with all of what you say here. I'm just not a fan of the snorkel look yet and I do notice a difference with this system so far and that makes it fun! Thanks for the comment.
@@AutoEdits Oh for sure....I agree snorkels are UGLY, and really not useful for the average 4x4 owner. But if you are out in dusty caravans often then function over form should prevail . One of the things I dig about your jeep is that you've kept that clean sleek look for the most part. Too many people go and bolt on everything on the market, making their rig top heavy and pushing GVW.
The placebo effect is strong with this one. Does a cai make you feel like you have more HP, or does it actually give you more HP? Getting the feels isn't science.
Relax a little, bro.
Nice install. Looks good!
Unless you have a performance vehicle, there is no need for an open element filter. The hp gains are marginal at best. Keep the stock filter.
No, I like this upgrade a lot. I'm getting a real world 1.7 MPG improvement and just plain like the sound and it was kind of fun to install. So, you keep your stock filter... fine by me.
Thanks for the video review. I looked up the product and says that won't fit jeeps with a lift kit, I see you have a lift kit installed in your jeep, did you run into any trouble? I don't see how a lift kit would have anything to do with it but that's what the manufacturer says
They don't recommend it for vehicles with a body lift not a suspension lift. You'll be fine!
Another nice vid! Would love to see you install a Pedal Commander and have you give your thoughts on that. Cheers from Denver CO!
NO WAY! I don't like those things at all. A good tune is far better than a band aid in between your throttle pedal and the engine. Thanks so much for checking in and commenting! Honestly, get a tuner and forget anything else for that.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the newer trucks don't react well to oiled air filters and that dry filters led to less problems. Not sure if that's true, and since my Ram is still under power train warranty I figured I'd wait to do this. Plus the 15 Ram's are a little more involved to tune.
Just saying you had a dirty throttle body you had a very dirty k and n air filter your results may have been different if all paramaters were equal.... still I did enjoy the install cheers
Nice big nose in the garage. Great video and information. Thank you.
Great review this great upgrade I been wondering about . Be next worth while investment . Thanks Jason !
Cold air intakes are a very fun upgrade!
With an HP Tuner, you should be able to read your MAF at WOT, both before and after, to see if you are also flowing more air and colder air (more dense). IAT readings are nice, but its only half the story. The air velocity, thus flow, is measured by the MAF, and at WOT if you are flowing more and the IAT is lower, you are making more power.
That's a great suggestion but this particular engine doesn't have a MAF (even though I incorrectly keep calling the IAT sensor the MAF in this video) apologies for that... instead it uses the manifold absolute pressure with exhaust 02 readings. I hooked the very same HPtuners software up to my wifes VW and could get far more data from the engine systems... including MAF and Air/Fuel ratio.
AutoEdits Admittedly it looked tiny to be a MAF, but it was in the right spot.....didn’t know the JKs were still MAP/Speed Density., on the plus side, MAP is easier to tune, just not as clean from an idle emissions standpoint, but more reliable.
Cool to learn this stuff, thanks!

Howdy and welcome to the Jeep life! Long life in a Jeep depends on millions of things... but if you change the oil and filters on a regular basis and go off roading with the mindset of "I still have to drive this thing home" Your Jeep should last a long time.

Thanks for watching and taking a moment to comment! I am not a fan of any "throttle commander" type modifications. I recommend getting a hand held tuner like the super chips or diablo sport or even the HP tuners software like I used in this video (but that's a little more advanced). Those handheld tuners offer the ability to do preset tunes and also check and clear engine codes and are nice to have.
lol the opening made me laugh so hard xD
THANKS! I really had fun with that one... came outta nowhere...LOL
Great video! Love getting ideas for my Jeep!
Love hearing this!
In racing, I understand why they fill tires with nitrogen but for the street I wonder real world benefits over compressed air ( if air compressor has a proper dryer ). Maybe do a video where you fill driver tires w/ nitrogen and passenger with air and compare pressures and performance after a day of driving & trail riding ? Just an idea. Thanks.
I actually considered doing nitrogen in the tires with my Powertanks kit but it takes too much volume to make that practical for trail use. Years ago I ran nitrogen in all my street cars and other than being more consistent at track days... offered no discernible difference in performance.
Another great jeep video, keep it up !
Gonna keep trying!

Great video and I truly like performance upgrades, but for a Jeep this could be a scary one. On a performance car I love this install but for a Jeep that might have to do water crossings, worries me. I just don’t like the idea of hydro locking an engine. But I’m sure it will work great with the rest of your upgrades.
how soon after filming this video did you take every thing apart to clean the engine bay? great video as always
LOL!
AutoEdits so that means you took it off ? I’d like to know.
@@albertdur5206 What do you mean? I love this thing now... I look for any excuse to drive it and run errands. Getting better gas mileage as well. He just meant if I took it back apart to clean underneath... which I did.
SICK TRACKPAD THO!
Dude, I love my Alienware!!!!
Nice upgrade haven't seen you in my video feed for a while. Where was pinto?
Howdy! She chased a rabbit up the hill and since I was only out there for an hour... missed this one!
I have always preferred a dry filter element over the oiled type.
I don't care to introduce oil into the intake system. Never made sense to me.
Jeep is sounding really good!
I see that now more than ever... thanks dude!
Yet I have been successfully using them on dozens of rigs for over 35 years.
Yeah me too, but after looking at that sensor and throttle body... I'll be interested in seeing if there is an improvement there.
AutoEdits it’s all on how much oil you use,,,,,,the less the better plus I install a paper filter for 24 hrs until the oil is dry on the oiled filer and then reinstall the wet K&N.
I have been using K&N in all my company excavating, logging and farm trucks. Also my rally car Jeep, 4x4 trucks, sand rails, sand dune and BAJA quads plus bikes. So I run in heavy dust, desert sand and dunes and never have had a single issue. Everyone I know of with a problem has over oiled and or resumed use too soon.
Expecting a normal consumer to clean/oil and run the vehicle with a temporary filter until the k&n is ready to go back into service is not realistic. I've used them for years and have no beef with them... I'm looking forward to trying this system out.
Great video, did you notice an increase in mpg?
Thanks, yes I did notice almost 2 full mpg's better.
Another great video, the Butt Dyno. Now I need to see some more Ram mods...
You got it!
Enjoyed the video. How did the Delta Force do on the uphill section of the road? Where you able to keep it in a higher gear or post a higher speed? Just curious since the butt dyno is a little subjective (;-). I've been kicking around the idea of a throttle body and cold air intake on my mostly stock 2016 JKU Sport. I upgraded to 33's on M/T wheels and I've seen a decrease in MPG and need to down shift sooner on uphill grades. Since I'm not ready to add a turbo (a$ nice a$ that would be), a little more horsepower would be great.
Gearing might help you but is expensive. You should be at least 4.10 with those tires... I did notice a slight difference in the wide open throttle pull but the most dramatic difference was in the part throttle stuff around the stop lights... felt more responsive.
Collect data and do science. Fuck yeah!
Don't forget... I have a pipe!
