Thank you for offering this, I bought my copy over a week ago and then almost immediately went into the hospital, so viewing this video is exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Dear Sarah, you are so brilliant I can hardly wait to get started. Thank you again so much for this as well your clear instructions. Love you for this and thank you!
Thank you for this video, Sarah! It was very informative and helpful. Edit: Woo-hoo! Thanks to your marvelous directions and whatever programming/developer magic had to happen behind the scenes, I have purchased and successfully opened the PDFs for Interactive US Volume 1 & 2 on my iPad, saved them to iBooks, and am beyond thrilled with the ease of it all and the results! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for how smoothly this all went, and for all the hard work it had to take to put everything together.
Just watched this very helpful video for using your color catalog!!! Been looking for color inspiration … it’s the one big stumbling block when it comes to colouring in. Worse if you have 300 colours to pick from!!! Thanks heaps for the Catalog and this valuable video. I love how the Catalog can be downloaded and used in GoodNotes … which I use often💕
I have been looking all over your website an can't find anywhere where it says what operating systems your Color Catalogue works on. I see pictures of iPads but does it work only on Apple devices or does it work on Android or Windows 10, too? That is an important piece of information that I need to know before I think about buying it.
I’m curious to printing doesn’t that give a different tone and photocopy paper verses card stock quality. Only learning it’s overwhelming and not a full on artist as it seems you need to be. Love it watching thinking maybe better than “finding” in the cubes the colour options as you did by theme or colour type
Hello Sarah I have already discovered the Arty App that you mentioned in the video and would recommend it to pencil artists who, like me, have difficulty identifying the correct pencil to use. I was going to email you about it, then discovered this video. There is one other topic that you could help me with however. One problem that I find with your downloadable Color charts is identifying the correct paper for my printer. Could you maybe make a short video to help out with this. I live in the UK, so may not have access to the papers that you have in your region. Also, the best art paper for general colored pencil work would be useful.
I actually have a video about paper! Most are from USA, but I was able to access a lot of them here in Australia too. And the general advice in the video should help with your search. ua-cam.com/video/JrSwJF-35FM/v-deo.html
I have watched this a few times now and think I have a better idea as I have also watched several others ie Pamela’s Pfor pencils I have two I pads can I put it on both? I will watch the how to download onto iPad part again then I’ll go and look for it.
@@SarahRenaeClark thanks, that’s helpful as I can use both or use one while the other is charging, only one has a chip in it and when we go away it’s the only one I take. The other one still picks up the internet at home only. I just wish I could make the books app stay put instead of disappearing all the time, any advice?
Hi Sarah, I have a question about the Color Catalog. The most difficult colorpallets for me are the skintones. Are Skintonepallets also available in the Catalog?
What a wonderful tool 😍 why am I only finding out now? 😭 I can't imagine the hours of work that must have taken you. Do you think you will integrate the Brutfuner 520 in the future? This huge choice of pencils is ultimately a hindrance for me, I waste a lot of time choosing colors and their harmonies and ultimately I almost never use this range and that's a shame. Thanks for the response 🙏🏼✨
I got 12 correct out of 30 - again not very good for an artist. Most surprising to me was EBURNEAN which I'd never have expected was off-white/cream! Fun test, Sarah!
Hello there, a Is this only for digital work? Cannon use this with Daniel smith or Windsor newton or golden paints? Those paints don’t have rgb, cyak, hex etc because I think it’s just for digital. Are there Instructions on how to use your cool system with real tube paint??? Thank you!
For paint or other media, I just match by eye. The numbers aren't useful for paints, but that doesn't mean you can't use the color combinations for inspiration. The colors don't have to be exact.
The Color Catalog is an amazing tool to use. However, I've followed the directions to download the 'interactive PDF version' of the color catalog and copied it in the ibook section of my iphone, but I still don't have it. I don't have a menu that gives me the option to browse through colors, keywords, or collections. It also does not give me the option to read the instructions. I have the cover of the catalog, the welcome section, and the color palettes only.
It sounds like you’ve downloaded the printable version instead of the interactive version. Either way, send an email to hello@sarahrenaeclark.com if you get stuck and my team can help!
This is great! I used to match the colors on my own and it sometme takes forever 😅 Is it possible for someone living in Germany without PayPal to buy it?
I've really been wanting this for a while, super excited to hear about a second catalogue in March! Do you know when that will be available to pre-order?
Sarah, I got a little confused about which version of the catalog, once stored allows you to use Arty and to print out a screen shot of a page. If I buy the interactive catalog, will I be able to do this, or will I have to buy the printable version. If I buy the printable, of course, I will lose the interactive functions. You mentioned other things that would not be available. Would you tell me what they are? If I understood properly, if I buy the interactive version and store it off the Net, I will be able to print pages from where I have stored it, if I screenshot the page I want, and still have access to the interactive features. Is that correct? Also, will a new version of the Color Catalog come out at the first of the new year with more color palettes added into it? If so, and I buy now, will I have access to those new palettes?
Dee Powers hey! Great questions. BOTH versions are actually included when you buy, so you will get access to both interactive and printable. I’m releasing a new Color Catalog in 2020, but it will be 250 new color palettes in a totally separate collection. It’s intended that you can buy either collection , or you can choose to pay for both if you want all 500- so it won’t replace the original.
@@SarahRenaeClark yes I found it and put the files on it but it stays for a short time in the bar at the bottom of the screen and then disappears, I have to keep looking for it in the App Store and open it from there, I can’t get it to stay on the iPad with other aps, is this usual or is there some way I can make it stay?
If you do a search for “color pencil picker” you might find some alternatives. I’ve found they aren’t all very accurate though, so it’s worth testing the pencils on paper after you find the match.
Sarah, hi. I'm new to your channel. I have a Samsung tablet, not an iPad. Will the links work on my tablet the same as on your iPad? I would like to purchase the whole product, including the companion, but I want to make sure it will be as easy to work. I could put it into Adobe or Kindle or whatever you suggest.
Hello, do you ever offer this on sale or at a discount price? $30 bux is a bit steep for some people when most of these types of palettes can be found on Pinterest. Just wondering and please do not take this comment in a negative way....thanks!
Hi Shelly! I just realized I hadn't replied to your question yet, sorry! I often have a sale during Black Friday in November. I don't usually have sales throughout the year, except during launches of new products. (A second Color Catalog is planned for March 2020 and will be on sale during pre-order, so you can keep an eye out for that!)

For some reason, despite the age of this comment, it appears first. I know Sarah works extremely hard to provide a good quality product to customers and I would hate anyone to be unable to realize the value of these products because you might be able to find them on Pinterest. She could easily charge 3 times this amount and I would still find it a good value. I use them all the time and I'm a huge fan of everything she does. She's a good person and a small business owner just trying to provide a good product and earn a living. For me, her color catalogue revolutionized my coloring in the best ways and I'm always learning from her. She's made coloring not only fun for me but a challenge too - my coloring has grown expontentially after watching her and using the catalogue.
Hi Sarah, Can you tell us what papers would be best to use for printing Palettes from the Color Catalog (weights and types (watercolor, multimedia, etc.), and if it is better to use an inkjet printer, Laser Color, or other, to get the best color replication. Also, if there are some paper brands you find helpful, that you might like to refer to, that would be good too. I expect to be using Derwent Inktense pencils primarily, but also have Caran D'Ache Neo Colour II, and Faber-Castell Watercolour pencils that I plan to use also. Thanks for your assistance.
I’ve got plans to do a video soon about paper recommendations. It won’t matter so much for the color quality, but it will matter for the pencils or medium you are using. I personally like a Vellum Bristol for colored pencil, but I just print my color companion on cheaper cardstock to save money. The printer makes a much bigger difference. Both ink and laser can produce good results, and higher quality will always be better. But I don’t worry too much about how accurate they are- even if they aren’t a perfect match, the printed colors will still look good and still make a good palette.
