This is the music I grew up with. Mick Ronson and Marc Bolan defined the guitar sound of early 70s British pop. Ronno would have LOVED this demo. But there are cheaper ways to get the Mk.1 Tonebender sound, and the wah is a crucial component, not an optional extra.
I don't know if it's RJ's playing (it's RJ, face it) or the way he recorded (still RJ), but this Ronno Bender sounds 100% like a tone I would love to have, vs what I'm hearing in the Warm Audio Warm Bender. But the Warm Bender has other 'lighter' tones at its disposal too, and doesn't crush the high end so absolutely. Looks like I'm still searching . . . .
I am 77 and weeks away from my next birthday. I met Mick at a producer/engineer friends studio. Unfortunately I did not know he was at that time severely ill. I could tell he was in hindsight self medicating . The point is he made a very bad impression on me that day. Of course know it is all so sad as I am sure he would have recorded much greater body of work.
Sounds great. Germanium transistors make me step on the brakes though. Having to put it first in the chain on my pedalboad is a pain in da butt! (I have to think about this more though, because I do really like this pedal. Haha!)
@@josephhoulihan5414 No, not all the time - especially if you are on stage and its noisy inside and you have the guitar volume dialed down and/or you have the pedal turned down to just get some crunch - or you need to turn the pedal on for a song and you haven't played a note yet, you want it on and need to know its on, but thanks for the reply
Thats probably the price to sell them and still make profit. I have build tone benders myself. You have to buy a lot of rare expensive "new old stock" germanium transistors, hand select them and then tweak operating voltage after assemly to make the pedal sound good. A lot of labour cost involved.
I guess Bowie left the Spiders (his biggest mistake) cause he was obsessed with the N.Y.Dolls, but i think the Spiders were as good as them,or better, just another style...
Man, that Moonage tone.... how fun. Love it!
His sound was a half cocked wah pedal and a tone bender. I saw him on the Ziggy Stardust and his solo tour.
Box sings....
What order?
Davidpekarsky2977. What order? It was 50 years ago.
Fuzz perfection my friend. You play the pedal as well as the guitar with this beast. Well demonstrated sir .
I can tell you're Really enjoying this one. Sounds fantastic RJ. I'll be a real rock 'n roller for You.
A Tone Bender that went to finishing school. Fantastic! Still raw but more tame than original. Love it!
Your content has been great, I was sorry to hear about your dad I lost my mom last year my mom was the reason I started playing awesome content
a superb creation, and a great demo, as always
Sounds like something I can use. Mick Ronson's tone was outstanding. Moonage Daydream was the epitome of guitar tone
One of the Best pedals ever for me, i love the bite sound of mk1. I m a HUGE fan of Mick ronson.
Great guitar playing...
Nice playing dude.
Greatest solo ever.
Nice this is one of the early circuits you can tell by the heavy compression on the attack

Add to MF’ing cart.

Those cheeky Floyd references over Bowie are filthy 🔥
Nice!!
Nailed it!
Sounds good
Go man, go!

I prefer Benders with Humbuckers. Great clone.
Cool!
Rocks!
Where can we buy this album?
Pedal sounds great - but I think it should have an on/off LED
You ear can tell you.

I mean, why’d you ever turn it off?
@@josephhoulihan5414 😄
Jimmy Page used the Sola Sound Tone Bender as well, its all over the Led Zeppelin I and Led Zeppelin II albums.
Sounds good but too expensive.
I think the early versions of this pedal sound better had one and foolishly sold it big mistake
Sounds nothing like the original😂😂😂
$350, ah yeah, ok

It’s hand built point to point, hand painted, silk screened, the enclosure is custom made, and has new old stock parts. ✌️
@@katoyelovni Is NOT point to point. It is just a plain old through hole board

For $300 I'll just keep using my wah.
