Yeah your right about that. But perhaps Dutch didn't have a chance to remember the first team after that intense ordeal he went through. Possibly some memory loss after the beating and Nuke going off. That could be an explanation on why they were never mentioned.
The Green Berets were probably working off the books so there wouldn't be any records of their mission which is why Dillon initially denied any knowledge of why they were in Guatemala.

This is one of the good Predator flicks. The Original and Predator 2 were great. This and Prey were solid. AVPs were just monster flicks for a rainy afternoon. The Predator was awful
The first aliens versus predator was all right. The second one was just straight up garbage and yeah, it's predator twenty eighteen should not be cannon, as well, always the original two, and this movie are the best.
The Predator was amazing in terms of what it added to the lore, the execution of said lore was... well, you saw it. Pure Yautja who were like those from the first two movies and Prey, warring against the other sect obsessed with gene editing, which is a common and viable sci-fi plot device. Knowing they can't win alone, and that we'd shown an aptitude for killing Yautja, they gave us a weapon to put us on the same playing field physically with the evil Yautja, with the adaptable human mind behind it. The sequel could've been amazing, and a good use for the "Prey" name, as they could've had him go to one of THEIR worlds and start hunting THEM. Predator turned Prey. I think it's actual use is more, "The Predators thought we'd be nothing BUT Prey, so they used one of their less evolved cousins on us, and found that, no, we are actually a Predator race.
@@Elitesolider1023 well, the AvPs are in their own timeline, self-contained. Neither canon accepts them as part of their own, but accepts them as acceptable monster v monster movies. Like I said, 2018 was poorly executed, but the lore it added made for a great sequel had it materialized.
I didn't watch this movie but now I hope I'll be able to watch it in full but there's something that puzzles me in this. I read about this movie on the internet and came across the woman Isabella a sniper with the Israeli Defence Force who surprisingly knew about the American operation in Guatemala 1987 about Major Alan Dutch Schaefer along with the Yautja/Predator that eliminated all his teammates with him being the only survivor plus how he beat it. And it was shocking that another group of Yautjas exist bigger than the types that hunted in both Guatemala and Los Angeles on two separate occasions of course with the Jungle hunter dead and his kind the City hunter continuing in Los Angeles until it's own demise. One type Classic was bad enough the Berserker was worse.
Although the movie was sort of slammed by critics I actually found it be a decent contribution to the Predator series. I'd recommend it if you like these types of films.

What turned me off about Predators is that it had not one, but two predators killed off in rapid succession. From a storytelling and dramatic POV, it lessens the danger of the character and the audience disengages. This was why it took a whole movie to kill a single predator in the first two films, and it wasn't easy then. They were near unstoppable and smart, but in Predators they are easily blown up or killed with a sword.
... advanced tactics and training? Spec Ops training is constantly evolving. I was far better trained than my dad was, 30 years my superior. Not taking away from what he did in Vietnam (that training is still extremely relevant and useful) but between the 80s and 00s that's a whole lot of evolution in tactics. My dad can't clear rooms like me, use half the equipment I used, or make a fraction of the shots I've made... We tested (even in his 70s he is no slouch). And hand to hand? There is no comparison, because for me, CQB was a way of life, for him it was barely a consideration. Now, that being said, Without the equipment and gear, I wouldn't want to go up against my dad in his prime, but with? I'm honestly not too worried. Not only was my MOS one that absolutely counters everything he knows (96R to his 11B-18B) He literally wouldn't find me, because we are trained to not be seen. Similarly, just like any other job, folks talk. Stories get passed on, beyond borders and nationalities. It's not inconceivable to think she found out about Nicaragua from the coconut wireless. I'm retired now, And I stil hear about stuff going on in wars that I have nothing to do with.

But do remember that their entire population is involved in hunting, they've got the experience and they've got the superior tech. Logically speaking even the worst among these predators would be unbeatable.
It's weird she would know about the events of 1987 which was a highly classified covert operation while the Los Angeles events of 1991 were much higher profile happening in a densely populated city with much more witnesses. The 1991 events would've been the more prominent and much better known events compared to what happened in some remote jungle.
My pops worked on this movie, my wife was an PA for one of the actors (Topher Grace, IIRC). I was deployed at the time in Iraq, but I got one of the crew shirts from the production. You know that hill they all tumble down at the beginning? Pops built that. As well as being one of the local Hawaii explosive contractors on site for the special effects. He didn't do the explosive work himself though- Hollywood has their own guys for that. They just hire local contractors to supervise the work done because it's cheaper than training someone in the host state's laws and taking the exam. Pops also worked on the Indy 4 film, and a few others that I don't recall at this moment. There's a picture floating around somewhere online of him petting the Pred-dogs like they're real. From what he told me, there were a couple practical ones for close ups, and they moved eerily realistically.
Given the chick’s accent, age, and the way she speaks of the events of the first film… does anyone else wanna take bets on her being like the Grandchild of the women who was in the first film… character not actor, for clarification.

1:59 how hard is it to cross reference your own source material or why don't I have a job in Hollywood cross-referencing source material. As a viewer we can watch any action movie under the Sun but we choose to watch this action movie because we're attached to the storyline and it's characters...just a little effort guys is all I'm asking.

Your welcome what? Finish the sentence.
I’ll tell you let’s start from the beginning
Tops knife. Made in USA
People just love to rank things
i don't know why the Mossad woman knows more about dutch's mission then an American black ops soldier does, they should've written her to have heard of a different time the predators were spotted, hell the predator 2 alien encounter would've been more likely to have been leaked.
The Mossad kinda knows everything. 😅
The moss peopke own america so they should. Dancing israelis
The only thing this movie had against it was the original movie.
Directed by ROBERT RODRIGUEZ
Red Foreman finally got rid of Eric

Swordplay in Predators was alot different than Predator 1 and 2. A katana is way more lethal than a Machete or a Cane sword.
Still the cane sword guy gave a fight or else his skull wouldn't have been collected in the movie everyone else died and didn't get collected straight slaughtered but the cane sword guy went out like bille
@@lincolnpascual They are evolving too. Their entire society is based on ranking and hunting, were not. Ours ain't the only planet they're hunting on. Imagine the gathered experience, and the advanced tech. You and your dad got superior training, you're better than all of us in combat. But do remember that their entire population is involved in hunting, they've got the experience and they've got the superior tech.
Logically speaking even the worst among these predators would be unbeatable.
Shot in a lot of central Texas locations like Hamilton pool and Perdernales falls
Don't you?
It's weird she would know about the events of 1987 which was a highly classified covert operation while the Los Angeles events of 1991 were much higher profile happening in a densely populated city with much more witnesses. The 1991 events would've been the more prominent and much better known events compared to what happened in some remote jungle.
Old best believe the incident in 1991 they kept under wraps too. Remember only the cop an agency guys know about them
And she was supposed to be IDF. That didn’t make sense at all.
Oh that's fun, so that's what Dimitri was doing after the Paris nukes, before he got sent to the gulag in the kunlun mountains
holy fk, was she the kid from the original? I thought it took place in Mexico, not Guatemala
It was pretty much an invented central american banana republic. So it could apply to any country there. But it was filmed in Mexico.
@getschwifty9531 ah damn. Would have been cool if it was the girl though.
How did Isabelle know about The 1987 Guatemala mission with Dutch, his team, and Dillon to begin with?
she's IDF, possibly high up the chain too.. There is after all, a reason she was probably brought along ya know..
@@alanparks3402Yeah, probably Mossad.
That should have been a blooper anyone who’s actually seen the 1987 movie knows that 2 made it out not 1
It’s sad that they didn’t even acknowledge Predator 2 at all! I know it was hated by critics, but many Predator fans respected that movie.
Because predator 1 is a fan favorite to everyone
Only in movies women get away with that😂
this was not in the original movie
She's an IDF sniper.
I just wanted to say I commented! There I commented
tough guys vs predators is whats entertaining. not scientists and comedians
She knows this because...?
She's talking about the T-800😛
Grr
Danny Glover erasure 😤
No.1-Predator
No.2-Prey
No.3-Predator 2
No.4-Predators
No.5-The Predator
....I don't rate the AVP films, they're abysmal
She looks like Michael Jackson.
Nah man she looks like Mia Toretto but sounds like Letty 😂
@@friktionrc 😆
@@friktionrc wow, spot on. lol
She completely ruined the movie. Horrible actor.
If she was IDF, how on earth would she know about what was found in a South American jungle? Always thought it was confusing this scene.
Seemed like a interesting question you were about to ask.
They own you.

I would think any military allied to the US would've gotten the info on what is very much an existential threat
It looses all believability when you ally Texas to California
1:28 - 1:36
I tricked my ex into seeing this movie. I told her it was about a teacher who falls in love with his student. We got there and she started yelling "this is that stupid FU#KING alien movie isn't it!
Exposition.
Min 1:58 So now its 87' Guatemala... Wasn't it originally set in the fictitious famous country of ValVerde? Just sayin, yo...
Oops
Adrian Brody was a weird choice for an action lead
1:59 how hard is it to cross reference your own source material or why don't I have a job in Hollywood cross-referencing source material.
In the beginning of the first Predator, a few moments after the most manly handshake in cinema, the general breaks out a map and proceeds to deceive Arnie with a bogus cover story...I don't believe that you can see an actual country name, I think that was on purpose but you can see lat / log lines and again, I believe ( I did this 5 years ago ), the general was pointing to an area in NW Brazil.
As a viewer we can watch any action movie under the Sun but we choose to watch this action movie because we're attached to the storyline and it's characters...just a little effort guys is all I'm asking.
there she goes lying again like she did to those poor mutant kids
Why did Isabelle got to be one of the survivors?
We know that the Predators have some rules that prevents them from killing pregnant women. They might have something similar for little girls who are not a danger to them.
Because she's hot.
She is michel jakson sister🎉
Im trying to figure how someone, in another country's military, would know about the debrief, of a high end, specs op mission????
She may have gotten the information from somebody in our military and intelligence agency. Lots of black market bs
@@attiepollard7847 She didnt seem like a high level military official that would be privy to that type of info. Seemed like lazy writing to me
@@AxxinTheSupernova she is from the IDF so she could be joining them on joint missions Black ops and be privy to American information. Besides to the public who's really going to believe that damn alien is real?
The problem is that this movie is too much like the original. They should've come up with something more unique.
This lame actor got this role just because of his jewish role right?
You mean his role in The Pianist? Have you not seen the movie, because his portrayal was pretty damn good
Wasn’t he also the youngest dude to win best actor at the time, for that same role?
Hate for nazis is a formula to get your movies nominated. @@Courtesyflush52
wtf, i thought he was the only decent actor in this movie lol
Terrible movie , terrible acting
Looks like Hamilton Pool outside Austin.
The movie was filmed in Texas and Hawaii.
It is. They also shot at Pedernales falls state park
