- Predators (2010) Predators (2010) Predators is an American science fiction action film. film directed by Nimród Antal and starring Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, and Laurence Fishburne. It was distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is the third installment of the Predator franchise.
This movie was underrated af. I really wish it would get talked about more, especially when the subject of the up-and-down nature of the franchise comes up. "Predators" was DEFINITELY one of the high points!
Agreed! I rate the original number one and this one second...the others pretty much not as good as either. I liked that this movie had the same claustrophobic feel of the original.
i partly agree. I absolutely love this movie's entire first act, but after the ship and Laurence Fishburne's scene, it sort of just became decent, never building on the highs of the first half. It's my 3rd favorite sequel, very very close behind Predator 2.
I literally have watched this movie 50 times!!
It's an okay film but for me there were so many nods to the original that it felt like an attempted fanboy remake more than a sequel or a new stand-alone in its own right. Kinda let itself down.
This is the second best Predator movie ever made. The best was the original in 1987.
Predator 2 was better than this. Predator 1700 was better than this.
For me the second is Prey. I could watch that movie any time. Predators is on par for me with Predator 2. I wouldnt really go out my to watch them, maybe if i have not seen them for a few years but if they are on air or somebody watches them, im in.
exactly!!!
Prey
Hello
Yeah u betcha❤
Underrated Predator movie tbh
Every big movie franchise has that one movie that flew under the radar and this was it for Predator. Like Terminator Salvation
This was always my favorite scene. Very good acting from Brody and Braga. The way she long pauses, gathers her thoughts, and......"We don't have a name for them."
That line and her delivery always kind of made me shiver.
People can hate on this movie all they want, but it was amazing on the big screen in 2010. It is still my favorite sequel
This movie made a critical error here. Knowing this information, they would have walked the rest of the movie in mud.
True, I never thought about it like that. I always wanted a sequel of this storyline tho
Except the Berzerker predator, and likely the others too, had a heartbeat sensor in their helmets. So the mud trick wouldn't have worked anyway.
They upgrade every hunt so they already now mud trick
@@KombatantChampiononly if they were beating hard & fixated in one position highlighted with fire. Notice on that last scene he only saw that cuz of the fire around. It highlighted his beating heart
The predators evolved this time so mud trick won't work
The most interesting thing is that Corridor Digital just replicated the mud Vs. thermal imaging scene from Predator and were amazed how effective it was.
Earlier, Royce said the sun wasn't moving. Next thing you know there's half-a-dozen planets in the sky. Now it's nighttime. Love this movie, but the celestial continuity could use some work.
It makes sense. This planet is barely rotating. Also, nighttime is happening because of another planet blocking the sun? It's just a movie and physics wasn't central to the plot but disorientation in a hostile environment was.
You’re worried about the “celestial continuity”? 😂😂
google "eclipse"
it may have been better if the writers set it up as a "huge dome" kinda similar to hunger games, and with all sorts of machines outside that messes up the party's sense of physics like that one the girl did with the rotating leaf, those aliens are advanced as f*ck, if the gamemakers in hunger games can do it, Yautjas can do it better.

I wished so bad they’d follow this movie with a sequel. There is so much to explore. The dual races of predator. The technology. How the big machine got there and what it did.
when she went back home, she led the resistance in Corto Maltese until her team got killed by the Suicide Squad
😭
I rented Predators a while back in 2011.
When Isabelle explained about Dutch's team 🔙 in 1987. I asked myself this question:
How did Isabelle know about The Predator, Dutch, & the mission to begin with?
She had the clearance to read his classified debrief.
something like that would be at the HIGHEST clearance. she is obviously a member of some top tier, special operations team that has access to that kind of intel.

My fav movie. Nobody can change my mind of it. Loved it.
"...well it aint this God dam morning is it!"
Royce, played by Adrien Brody, is a true hunter soul himself, knowing how to play the game against the Predators.
i liked this movie
I always felt like she was kind of stupid in this scene if she would’ve told them, he wouldn’t have made them bait.
Exacto.
How does an IDF Scout Sniper know about classified American intel about what happened in South America in the 80’s?
Probably had some Mossad connections and Mossad knows everything lol.
Hush
Dont think too much, it might hurt your head!!!
Governments all over know classified info all the time.
America is israeli vassal
I think it was a briefing before he was picked up. They might have found him first.
what they should do is revisit the first team that ran into the preds....yeah they got wiped but that would be a good movie
It’s like there’s a movie about it already
I’m be been saying it for years , you want to revitalize the predator franchise ? You gotta give him a W he’s earned it !
2:16 - there were TWO teams - first Green Berets and then Dutch's team.
Yeah your right about that.
But perhaps Dutch didn't have a chance to remember the first team after that intense ordeal he went through.
Possibly some memory loss after the beating and Nuke going off. That could be an explanation on why they were never mentioned.
She might not have been privy to that knowledge and only knew about Dutch's team.
The Green Berets were probably working off the books so there wouldn't be any records of their mission which is why Dillon initially denied any knowledge of why they were in Guatemala.

When I am in this situation. I will be looking around for danger and whisper, Not having a relaxed chat.. every sound you make is a clue. AMBIENT LIIGHT!!
Seriously, what are you on about?
I didn't watch this movie but now I hope I'll be able to watch it in full but there's something that puzzles me in this. I read about this movie on the internet and came across the woman Isabella a sniper with the Israeli Defence Force who surprisingly knew about the American operation in Guatemala 1987 about Major Alan Dutch Schaefer along with the Yautja/Predator that eliminated all his teammates with him being the only survivor plus how he beat it. And it was shocking that another group of Yautjas exist bigger than the types that hunted in both Guatemala and Los Angeles on two separate occasions of course with the Jungle hunter dead and his kind the City hunter continuing in Los Angeles until it's own demise. One type Classic was bad enough the Berserker was worse.
Although the movie was sort of slammed by critics I actually found it be a decent contribution to the Predator series. I'd recommend it if you like these types of films.
@@Enruler Word. It's not as good as the original but it's almost as good as Predator 2.
To be honest I felt that Predators was closer in feel to the original than the 2nd Predator movie because it was kinda campy but in a good way 😂 this movie had a way more serious tone
Its not surprising given how many times jewish americans have been caught stealing or selling US state secrets and technology back to Israel (or China in a few cases).
People ask how did she know about the 87 op. Most likely cause she was part of a team tasked with trying to capture one( like the team in pred 2) and was briefed on what they were hunting. Think about it preds would be all over those hot middle east war zones.
If was cool that they explained this because it goes back to the first movie

Wrong.. Two people come out alive. As the girl made the Chopper too...
Girl in chopper was Mom to sniper-girl...Mom has been telling that story at every family gathering for years.
this was not in the original movie
This is one of the good Predator flicks. The Original and Predator 2 were great. This and Prey were solid. AVPs were just monster flicks for a rainy afternoon. The Predator was awful
She's talking about the T-800😛
i don't know why the Mossad woman knows more about dutch's mission then an American black ops soldier does, they should've written her to have heard of a different time the predators were spotted, hell the predator 2 alien encounter would've been more likely to have been leaked.
The Mossad kinda knows everything. 😅
Don't you?
Its a big game hunting planet. You cant see everything

Red Foreman finally got rid of Eric
I saw somewhere that her character wasn’t in the original draft and she pushed for the part. I’m glad they added her, and not as some damsel in distress or romantic interest, but as a capable sniper and experienced fighter. No agenda, no “me too” platform, just a good interesting character who happens to be female. Hollywood needs more of this and Ripley from Aliens.
Me too platform??
Good lord UA-cam comments just never run out of stupidity.
Other than the political bullshit I do agree.
@@ThePartisan13 This. I dont have anything against strong female characters (Ripley, Sarah Connor, love them) but as long as they dont go full Mary Sue. But its not only about female heroines, i just dislike characters that are good at everything. And such characters usually act like smartass dicks who belittle others making them look dumb or weak. Today we got a shit ton of those and its really boring.
MAGA 🤡
What does "me too" have to do with this?
What turned me off about Predators is that it had not one, but two predators killed off in rapid succession. From a storytelling and dramatic POV, it lessens the danger of the character and the audience disengages. This was why it took a whole movie to kill a single predator in the first two films, and it wasn't easy then. They were near unstoppable and smart, but in Predators they are easily blown up or killed with a sword.
... advanced tactics and training? Spec Ops training is constantly evolving. I was far better trained than my dad was, 30 years my superior. Not taking away from what he did in Vietnam (that training is still extremely relevant and useful) but between the 80s and 00s that's a whole lot of evolution in tactics. My dad can't clear rooms like me, use half the equipment I used, or make a fraction of the shots I've made... We tested (even in his 70s he is no slouch). And hand to hand? There is no comparison, because for me, CQB was a way of life, for him it was barely a consideration. Now, that being said, Without the equipment and gear, I wouldn't want to go up against my dad in his prime, but with? I'm honestly not too worried. Not only was my MOS one that absolutely counters everything he knows (96R to his 11B-18B) He literally wouldn't find me, because we are trained to not be seen. Similarly, just like any other job, folks talk. Stories get passed on, beyond borders and nationalities. It's not inconceivable to think she found out about Nicaragua from the coconut wireless. I'm retired now, And I stil hear about stuff going on in wars that I have nothing to do with.
Swordplay in Predators was alot different than Predator 1 and 2. A katana is way more lethal than a Machete or a Cane sword.
Still the cane sword guy gave a fight or else his skull wouldn't have been collected in the movie everyone else died and didn't get collected straight slaughtered but the cane sword guy went out like bille
@@lincolnpascual They are evolving too. Their entire society is based on ranking and hunting, were not. Ours ain't the only planet they're hunting on. Imagine the gathered experience, and the advanced tech. You and your dad got superior training, you're better than all of us in combat. But do remember that their entire population is involved in hunting, they've got the experience and they've got the superior tech.
Logically speaking even the worst among these predators would be unbeatable.

It's weird she would know about the events of 1987 which was a highly classified covert operation while the Los Angeles events of 1991 were much higher profile happening in a densely populated city with much more witnesses. The 1991 events would've been the more prominent and much better known events compared to what happened in some remote jungle.
Old best believe the incident in 1991 they kept under wraps too. Remember only the cop an agency guys know about them

@getschwifty9531 ah damn. Would have been cool if it was the girl though.
Only in movies women get away with that😂
My pops worked on this movie, my wife was an PA for one of the actors (Topher Grace, IIRC). I was deployed at the time in Iraq, but I got one of the crew shirts from the production. You know that hill they all tumble down at the beginning? Pops built that. As well as being one of the local Hawaii explosive contractors on site for the special effects. He didn't do the explosive work himself though- Hollywood has their own guys for that. They just hire local contractors to supervise the work done because it's cheaper than training someone in the host state's laws and taking the exam. Pops also worked on the Indy 4 film, and a few others that I don't recall at this moment. There's a picture floating around somewhere online of him petting the Pred-dogs like they're real. From what he told me, there were a couple practical ones for close ups, and they moved eerily realistically.
Im trying to figure how someone, in another country's military, would know about the debrief, of a high end, specs op mission????
She may have gotten the information from somebody in our military and intelligence agency. Lots of black market bs

It looses all believability when you ally Texas to California
Why did Isabelle got to be one of the survivors?
We know that the Predators have some rules that prevents them from killing pregnant women. They might have something similar for little girls who are not a danger to them.
Because she's hot.
It’s sad that they didn’t even acknowledge Predator 2 at all! I know it was hated by critics, but many Predator fans respected that movie.

In the beginning of the first Predator, a few moments after the most manly handshake in cinema, the general breaks out a map and proceeds to deceive Arnie with a bogus cover story...I don't believe that you can see an actual country name, I think that was on purpose but you can see lat / log lines and again, I believe ( I did this 5 years ago ), the general was pointing to an area in NW Brazil.
