My favorite Fitzwallace scene is at 14:34, when he and Leo start out talking about shampoo and he goes into his speech about how he can't tell when it's peacetime or wartime. Brilliant writing by Sorkin, but excellent acting as well.

In my humble view, it shows us how a great nation and the most powerful military in the world should be run. With extremely smart, good, honest and hardworking people. Percy Fitzwallace of course being one of them. Who knows, maybe one day...

Not to mention losing James Earl Jones around the same time.
John Amos was not on my radar until I saw him on TWW. His first appearance, I thought, isn't that the guy from Good Times (which I didn't really watch)? He's good. How come we don't see more of him?
With his passing, I read more about John Amos. He apparently clashed with the Good Times writers about the characters saying essentially that's not how black people think and act. All the writers were white. He got canned for it. So kudos to him for that in trying to put out a better product.

The 1st scene was bartlett first time in the sit room and the consensus was that jed has not served anywhere so he would not be able to handle/ decide on military issues but boy oh boy did jed show that he can go toe to toe , round to round with fitz! This scene sets the tone for the remainder of their relationship! Jed always had respect for fitz but he felt fitz did not respect him back but all of that was put to one swift end in one scene at the beginning of season 1 :)

Of the many great performances on West Wing, John Amos always delivered such a strong, moral character in a show that dealt with often less moral out comes. From what I understand, that moral fiber existed in his off screen personal life also. Rest in Peace Mr. Amos.

By god… we could. This unrest in the middle-east must stop. I’m American, but I also lived in the UK growing up. I’m 38 now and my friends live in the UAE, I visited them in Dubai in 2020 at the height of the pandemic. This MUST stop, you cannot shoot missiles at someone to solve a disagreement. I’m sorry if I sound harsh or not-understanding of the local geopolitics for not living in the region, or being a naïve American who only visited on holiday. I spoke to my taxi driver, Pratik, in Dubai, he told me how he sends money home to his family, in Pakistan, and hoped to visit them that winter. I hope he was able, before all this shit-show started.
