I live in Alberta. I have seen this guy and his buffalo lots of times at fairs and events. So iconic.

While the speed may not be the greatest,.... I bet the gas mileage is amazing!
mileage in general, there's a reason that the ox was the master of long haul overland cargo. A horse will carry more for a shorter distance, but one ox could keep going for hours longer a day. I know you were joking, but there's neat history in the joke :P Happy New Year :)
But the emissions from the tail... pipe are pretty nasty and smell awful, even compared to an engine.

I'm a Virginian and I ride a trained Charbray.
I'm pretty sure this is done at some rodeos but no one really rides them outside of that because they tend to be really unpredictable.

This is what we do in Alberta in the winter when our horse can't pass the emissions test and our government issued polar bear is in the shop.
