Not the first, but definately awesome. There is a dude who lets his bison go in his home. The darn thing is so gentle it doesnt knock over his trinkets he has. Search 'guy lets bison into home'.

I like the fact that as much as she likes taking care of the bison, she recognizes that they’re wild animals and doesn’t recommend people go out and adopt one.

What's the difference I had Calf/Cow that use to run and jump same thing there just playful
Cows are more domesticated, they have gone through centuries of breeding to encourage not only more milk but more gentle behaviors around humans. Even then cows are still big animals that you have to be careful around. In all likeliness there is no danger here it’s just good to have a cautious respect. Like with horses, you can raise them from a baby but they can still hurt you unintentionally because their instinct when startled is to kick out. Also this bison sees her as her mom and part of the herd, she likely won’t be very friendly to strangers so she has to be careful of that as well.
Yeah, going out to find a baby bison is a good way to get yourself injured or killed. Not to mention arrested

Since you asked about updates, the women featured in this video unfortunately got into a very bad horse accident about a week ago and had to be airlifted to a trauma center. From what I have heard the little bison will have to go back to Montana for the time being.
@@houseboat1101from what I can gather, she’s now back in Montana recovering from a traumatic brain injury. It seems her prognosis is pretty good, and she’s back with her animals ❤

It's fascinating that she doesn't even need a lead to stick with the rest of them. She may get sidetracked by something she sees, but then she just runs right back to the rest of them without any hesitation. So beautiful!
It’s not as though she’s doing it because it’s the “right thing”, though. She’s doing it because like any child she would be worried if she lost sight of mum.
It’s a herd animal following her herd. It’s a natural instinct.
They do that in the wild constantly sticking with the herd

She might be a wild baby bison but after watching your video it’s obvious she’s absolutely in love with you! I think she knows she’s in her loving forever home and she is well aware that you’re her rescuer and protector. Animals don’t forget those sort of things

They had to widen their doorways for him, and he's the size of a couch when he lays down to watch tv! Just goes to show, our understanding of how resilient animals can be comes from centuries of basically treating them like objects. Maybe orphaned bison can easily survive - with the right kind of unconditional love ❤

Bison are not domesticated, they are wild animals. Lucy is socialized and hopefully she will remain tame. Some people will mix bison with cattle, and even breed hybrids. This has cause issues for conservationists that are trying hard to keep some herds of bison “pure”, without any cattle dna.
I have visited bison herds and they are both beautiful and scary. When the cows have calves they are quite protective and their bass growl really gets your attention. Bulls are solitary, foolish people will approach them only to be injured or killed, they tend not to give a warning they will attack.
@@loiscandler814 unlikely - once they have imprinted this much with humans - they generally do not do well with even domestic herds…it’s best to keep them like she is being kept, actually. Lucy has other animals around her and looks to be very well cared for.

All living creatures have love and appreciation for their carers, and bisons are no exception. Lucy will love you all her life. Her natural instincts & wildness may emerge for others she is not used to, but never for you and those she is familiar with and knows as her family. Great story, well done.

I have been to Yellowstone in spring with my family, where there were buffaloes threading through in front of our cars in a parking lot. The one trotting in front of our car unexpectedly, was incredibly beautiful, immensely strong, shiny with health and had the looks and size of the prime male. He looked as if he had just been groomed and was ready for the lead in a five star movie. He was huge! While he was literally moving muscle, he commanded respect just for passing by.
Whenever we were near where buffalo passed, or were there first, Park Police on bullhorns demand visitors not approach the buffalo on foot for photos, as some visitors could not all understand buffalo were wild and dangerous, and belonged, while we were only short-term visitors, and could be leaving, unexpectedly soon.

Emmie is the owner...The bison's name is Lucy.
She has other animals which helps out greatly especially the horses. Bison and horses have lived around each other for millions of years.
