Not the first, but definately awesome. There is a dude who lets his bison go in his home. The darn thing is so gentle it doesnt knock over his trinkets he has. Search 'guy lets bison into home'.
Since you asked about updates, the women featured in this video unfortunately got into a very bad horse accident about a week ago and had to be airlifted to a trauma center. From what I have heard the little bison will have to go back to Montana for the time being.
@@houseboat1101from what I can gather, she’s now back in Montana recovering from a traumatic brain injury. It seems her prognosis is pretty good, and she’s back with her animals ❤
@@houseboat1101 Anyone know how to get in touch with this woman? I would like to send a small donation. Even if I knew what town she's living in, I could probably go from there.....
I like the fact that as much as she likes taking care of the bison, she recognizes that they’re wild animals and doesn’t recommend people go out and adopt one.
Cows are more domesticated, they have gone through centuries of breeding to encourage not only more milk but more gentle behaviors around humans. Even then cows are still big animals that you have to be careful around. In all likeliness there is no danger here it’s just good to have a cautious respect. Like with horses, you can raise them from a baby but they can still hurt you unintentionally because their instinct when startled is to kick out. Also this bison sees her as her mom and part of the herd, she likely won’t be very friendly to strangers so she has to be careful of that as well.
Same. There's something about Bison, they're so majestic, regal and just beautiful animals. I also love their historic relationship with Indigenous communities.
It's fascinating that she doesn't even need a lead to stick with the rest of them. She may get sidetracked by something she sees, but then she just runs right back to the rest of them without any hesitation. So beautiful!
It’s not as though she’s doing it because it’s the “right thing”, though. She’s doing it because like any child she would be worried if she lost sight of mum.
Very few people realize the amount of work and dedication put in to gain absolute trust from a wild animal, however the results are absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and uplifting story. Respect.
Aww...thank you for rescuing this little mighty mite!! Over the moon she survived the weekend, now you really have a beautiful four legged piece of Americana on your western front. To hug a bison is my dream. ❤
Hug? Wait until you drive through a theme park where the bison are accustomed tourists sneaking food to them. A bison head will appear through your car window insisting on a snack, and nudge your face, slobbering and stinking. Fun, but watch out and don't feed 'em.
@@JesgateOnDown are you willfully dense? There’s as reason orphaned wild animals can’t be released into the wild. This is a quote from BBC Earth: “Captive animals seldom learn crucial survival skills and often are too habituated to human contact. Love and caring for orphaned bison teaches us how survival is possible for the threatened baby bison. Luckily the bison had other four legged friends to be with. What's gonna happen when the bison is fully grown?
This channel actually makes me really sad sometimes because it shows that there are many better people than me out there who can take care of all these wonderful creatures. It's bittersweet kind of.
