Hi Mike. Yes, very sad news. I’d shared this news on many aquascapers channels, but for some strange reason not many have acknowledged this at all. IMHO I’m quite disappointed that many haven’t even shared this news. Is that how you remember a friend or colleague? I shake my head. I think it would be small gesture to Felipe‘s memory if all well known aquascaping channels and content creators arrange a tribute to him, possibly in each and everyone’s own way. I’m looking at folks from Green Aqua, Jurijs, Sascha, George, MJ, MD, ADA, ADG, etc. There’s a few. I believe that we all, collectively as a whole, we’re strongly touched by Felipe and that we all learned much from him. I’m just putting this out there. Do what you think is right, but don’t ignore the legend that Felipe Oliveira is. Much love to all from a very hot Australia
Adding shrimp seems plausible as tank grows more hiding places, a school of colorful neon tetras. Also like the awesome sword tank brilliantly stunning.....
Beautiful setup and the big scape is truly amazing!!! Great video George! Some don’t realize the work that goes into making your vlogs and the process. THANK YOU for all you do.
great video, George, I'm a little sorry that you want to redo the biotope, I really liked it for its conciseness. it really is a zen tank. It will be interesting to see the new scape!
That's going to be one nice aquascape! Some interesting details on the cabinet. I never thought about having a tray for filter. Also I noticed your book in a LFS, George. They had it on a small stand on top of cabinet with other books. Definitely plan to buy it for my book collection.
Would be great to see you scape a new layout every 3 months with a rotation on different styles.. Grow your channel in 2023. With more detailed thoughts around your creative choices. When making a layout. Share your knowlegs you obtained thrue all your travels and meeting of other like minded people.
I would love a group of kryptopterus bicirrhis in there. Swimming as a tight group. They also contrast the colourful and busy fish in the big tank next to it.
Don’t be afraid to almost bury the carpet plants when first planting. Or if you’re able to after planting them hold your finger on each bunch and use tweezers to flick some soil on top to help hold them down a little. Hope that helps I’ve been there it can be frustrating but don’t give up you’ll get it!
I have an Oase Scaperline 100 aquarium with an oase thermofilter 850, Hiwi CO2 system and Daytime Matrix RGB lamp and I am super happy with this setup. I keep several fish from Myanmar such as Sawbwa resplendens and Trigonostigma somphongsi. Your Oase Highline has inspired me to plan the purchase of a second aquarium, an Oase highline 400 with Leopold's Angelfish (Pterophyllum leopoldi) and different tetras and corydoras. But my family is not convinced yet... ;-)
@@MumenRider78 I especially like the depth of 50 cm of the scaperline 100. You can build in a beautiful diorama, iwagumi or nature island style! But of course 100 cm wide is too small for big fish like Congo tetras, denision barbs or angel fish.
I just started watching and i would like to answer your question from the start: you should put a Odontodactylus scyllarus there! Thank me later. EDIT: if you are feeling heedless, make it a oratosquilla oratoria. for this you will NOT thank me later
I'm not a fan of designer branded tanks myself either. My 12mm thick, 5x2x2 tank with the cabinet, sump and delivery into my house was 1400 pounds last April, if that was DD or red sea it would be over double the price.
@@jhaych DD are reasonable, I think my 90 cm with cabinet was around £600 and I like that it's got more depth than other tanks ,more room for the 80 kg of Rock I've put in it
I'm not sure about that, the tank is across the whole cabinet. I've been making my own cabinets and stands for quite some time When I was a child, we had a tall DIY cabinet in our living room which housed 80l tank. The aquarium was old (over 20 years), sitting on a sheet of flooring PVC and two sheets of painted chipboard below it were sagging. Yet it never broke. Still, when I build a stand without a central support, even if it's from scraps, it turns out most of it is 40mm massive wood. 😅That's one reason I used steel frame for my largest tank. I'd probably lug half a ton of wood otherwise. PS: I prefer DIY cabinets/stands for the cost of a high-quality stand. There are all kinds of issues with cheap stands from being prone to water damage to stability (push the tank, break the stand). I have 1 stand like that, cannibalized from two cheap stands which were on sale (Diversa made them?).
Can we all also just take a moment to sit still and remember that we lost a great aquascaper and a great guy Filipe oliveira.
R.I.P
I knew he was sick, but didn't know he didn't make it. Thomas is very sad. He was one of the best. Rest in peace, Filipe🙏

@@andrekiesswetter2518 I agree! Filipe was an amazing aquascaper a truly deserves the acknowledgment! Thanks for bring that to attention.

nice to see more tanks.. was looking a bit bare... 🙂 but love the simplyisty of the new one...
Oh no!! I did not know Mr. Oliveira died.😢 I was just re-reading through two of his books yesterday. Thank you.
Really beautiful these tanks!
It’s a class respectful fish room! 🗿🍷
Beautiful scape George! Very cool piece of wood that stands on its own! Will you keep shrimp in this? The stool makes an appearance #stool

I think shrimp would look nice. Safe travels

How do you stop the carpet plants floating when newly planted? Looks amazing😍

As a time poor person I really like dark start and highly recommend it to everyone.
school of golden barbs look nice
Too humble George!

14:00 couldent agree more
@George Farmer what is the big background plant in your famous scape..
Is it crypt or Amazon sword???
Plz let me know
What biomedia do you put in your canisters?
nice aquascape
I love when the room around is not a mess, so many amazing aquascapers have horrible messy rooms which take away a lot of the astetic of the tank.
Can you recommend the wio slim led
Yes
What's that rectangle joint connector for the pipe called?
Maybe a tank with UG next time ,something a bit different.
CORDYCEPSSSSS

Friendly Scape
👏👏👏👏👏🙏
The best way to recycle your tank water when doing a water change is by drinking the water you take out.. I highly recommend it!..
These tanks are just too much money for my liking, and the cabinets will bow if no central support. But a nice scape george.
That’s a weird comment lol
I guess George doesn’t understand what he’s doing 😅
Who cares if it’s expensive it’s what he likes .
If the cabinet's where substandard George wouldn't Advertise them and lose his credibility
