There's just nothing like finding a helpful, high quality video that shows you how to do a job. It's a true act of kindness to go to the effort of figuring it out yourself and then telling other people so they don't have to struggle. Thank you!
My 2010 Mazda Premacy (5) is showing the same symptoms as your car's. The low pressure side goes to negative when the compressor kicks in while the high pressure side goes insanely high. It's good thing that I saw the part number of the expansion valve you used and that gave me the reference. One problem though. My Mazda is right hand drive so it's gonna be laborious to access the expansion valve location. Thanks!
There are a few symptoms of a bad expansion valve and several factors to know and consider in order to diagnose. To be clear, I'm not an A/C technician and really not qualified to give you advise. In the situation you describe, if we were to pursue the possibility that it is a bad expansion valve, then one way that you can corroborate this would be to use an A/C manifold gauge. Using the gauge, if the high pressure side is too high, that may indicate a clogged expansion valve. This would prevent sufficient refrigerant to pass through and so the low pressure line is not cooling. In my case, my condenser was damaged and may have released some debris that could clog the expansion valve. I could not really tell if my high pressure side was too high because I could not find definitive specs of what are normal pressures for my car model. I just decided to replace it while the system was already evacuated. I wish you the best of luck with your ac system, and I hope you get it to work.
Thanks. Currently faced with the same problem. I think I can DIY this. The shop already drained my freon and was charing me 12k PHP for labor. What size O-ring did you buy?

Thanks for the comment. Best of luck with the repair, I hope it works out.
First class video. Thank you.
Just did this to my 2013 Mazda5 and it fixed the no-cooling, low pressure problem. Still wondering why the old valve got stucked
Really helpful video thanks. I have a 2010 Mazda 5 and this was close enough that it was very helpful.
How did you remove the glove box department? It’s wedged behind the side/front panel. I have a Mazda 5 2010 and I’m trying to get to the blower motor
Nice video man. Im about to do this to my wifes 2013 Mazda 3. Thank you for the video
Very informative. The catsup packet "thank you" made me laugh.
Excellent video. Thanks!
Legend mate cheers for this vid
What are the symptoms of a bad expansion valve? My ac is charged, the compressor is running but the low pressure line is not as cold as it should.

Mine need done but I have a right hand drive...do I need to pull the dash? 😢
I don’t know if you have to pull the dash. I hope not. The valve is located much lower than that. Best of luck!
Great video. Thank you.
What is the hex nut at bottom for ?
Thanks. Currently faced with the same problem. I think I can DIY this. The shop already drained my freon and was charing me 12k PHP for labor. What size O-ring did you buy?
I bought a variety pack because I didn't know the exact size
thank you
Great video mate 👍. Is a cx7 the same ?
