This comes from when i lived with my mother and we met a English lady who had been living in france for 10 years and 2 weeks before my gcse in French helped me to learn the basics but more than this she installed a love for the French language as i saw the passion she had for it. Now i am 41 and made the decision to actually put the effort in and commit. i am using duo lingo at the same time as i discovered this before you. Can i just also say how well structured your lessons are and how fantastic you are as a teacher. I think what you have done is amazing and you have made my learning so much fun and i am committed to your learning too. You make sense, make things easy and have a great smile :) Thank you for producing all your videos and lessons from Byron (Leicester England)
Until they look at you and reply 'oui?!', like they cannot believe you just said 'yes' to whatever they'd just been saying. You could laugh, look sheepish and quickly reply 'non?', but they will probably have sussed you don't understand much of what they've just said... I've been there!

How about 'Partir, c'est mourir un peu' as a poetic goodbye? OK, maybe that's a bit of a downer. :) If you don't want to say 'Je déconne' you could maybe say 'J'ai dit ça pour rire'. I've heard French people say that when something that I thought was serious, wasn't! Or 'Je te fais marcher', though I don't know whether that's polite.

Don’t learn French and Spanish at the same time. The languages have so many words in common that you’ll end up getting confused. At least I did.
