    Fun fact. This guys operation was the first time Farm Credit had ever financed a bee operation.

    Nice to see this operation thank y'all for posting. Justin is where I hope to be one day nice to see it working for him.

      And to think, this is only a _part_ of his operation. It's a lot of work, but Justin says it's very rewarding. Good luck with your bees, Michael!

      Justin is one of the kindest men we've ever met. He genuinely cares about his bees and the people in his life. Great guy!

    Great video. Interesting to see how the commercial guys do things differently

      That's right, Peter. We're fascinated every time we visit a larger operation. Beekeeping has so many variances, it's hard to say who is 100% right in their technique. I guess a healthy hive shows us all we need to know. :-)

    Where's the real pollen? Call it what you will but I doubt it is as you say.
    That' sure looks like a few boxes of substitute on that pick up bed.
    Most often not a drop of real flower to be found in the formulation. . No pollen is there?
    . Generally its made with about 50 % sugar and a compilation of proteins such as yeast, peas, or Soy beans,
    Rarely does it contain real pollen. If and when it does its most often cheap pollen from China. The bees can smell the lipids which makes them gobble it all up faster but depending on the source and ingredients using it doesn't always correlate to massive brood rearing as people are led to believe.

      Don't tell my Carnies that...they brood their butt off on sub and not until then if we don't get a fall flow

      @@CentralBeekeepersSupply I think I like the simple clover honey the best! I have tried the Root Beer and it is great.

    What does Justin do with the extra honey in the box come spring? He said he’s not to fond of golden rod honey so I’m sure he doesn’t extract it. Will he take it off and save it and then feed it back during a dearth? I was curious cause I’m sure he doesn’t want a full box of honey on his hive come the spring nectar flow.

      If u don't find a queen in March what would u do

    • @CentralBeekeepersSupply
      @CentralBeekeepersSupply  3 роки тому

      The majority of the honey that's there now will be eaten and replaced with brood come spring. It's unlikely he has any extra.

    Do you ever plant flowering plants like clover or sunflowers or anything like that for the bees to feed on???

    Interesting you use the word "professional" beekeeper. I sort of get it, yet in my eyes, there are only Hobbiest or backyard beekeepers, and Commercial Beekeepers. But I really enjoyed the video and the back and forth question.--very well done. Where is Justin located?

    • @CentralBeekeepersSupply
      @CentralBeekeepersSupply  3 роки тому +1

      Justin's profession is beekeeping. It's his full-time job, and he's been recognized as one of the most knowledgeable keepers in the region. He's located in The Arkansas River Valley near Russellville.

    Think of how much would have been learned if what the beekeeper just said wasn't Repeated back to him every time a question was asked....usually adult's are watching and don't need a kindergarten class.
