Love you Helen! I bought this camera about six months ago. Of course I did a bunch of research and watched a ton of videos on how to use it, but none of them really took you around and showed you the different settings in which you would use the different modes. Thank you for taking us out and about and showing when and where you would use them. It has really made me want to start shooting with it again, instead of being afraid to take a bad picture. This really helped me a lot!

That was a really helpful hint...when shooting in macro, you don't need to look through the viewfinder as it doesn't line up with the lens. Just hold the camera and line it up in front of what you're shooting

I've been putting off buying an instax mini for ages wondering would I use it, but the square looks amazing! It's bigger but it looks much more solid than the mini
swilsey89 I’ve had a mini one since 2013 and I’ve never had any issues with it breaking or anything like that, if that’s what you’re concerned about 😊 and the batteries last forever!
The SQ6 and the Mini 90 are the best ones but between those two the Mini 90 wins

i have this camera for a yr now and i'm still having a hard time with closeups coz it deviates to the right. that was a good hack to not look thru viewfinder and just wing it with the lens! will try later. 😁

I got this camera for Christmas so this is perfect! Thank you. Mines in the grey but it looks beautiful in this colour too. I'm confident with film and my digital camera but I've messed up a few Polaroids so this was perfect!! Xx

Hi, very helpful, but I still have a couple of questions:
1) I don’t quite understand the very differences between “selfie mode” and “ macro mode” since the have the same focal distance.
2) what’s the focus distance when shooting automatic, or double exposure or lighten and darken mode. They just specify the focus distance when shooting macro, selfie and landscapes. Thank you!

I’ve been kind of falling out of love with my instax mini 8 that I’ve had since 2013 😞 partly because now that I have an iPhone XS that takes amazing photos, it’s a hassle to carry around both of them (especially since I use the smallest purses ever 😂)

I have the instax 8 mini, I think it is? I love it and got some gorgeous shots while in Venice, its a great starter camera but would love to upgrade to this camera and whats interesting is the film for this camera is cheaper then the mini version! I would love to see you do more Photography content as I used to do quite a lot when I was younger and sadly now need a refresher. I would really like to get back into it as I adore photography, so thanks for sharing this with us.

I have the instax mini classic that is somewhere between the 2 you have takes little photos but has the modes, I love it but find it to chunky when I travel so was thinking of getting the little printer to send photos from my phone as I love the format.
Veronica Rains I’ve been thinking the same thing! Carrying around both a camera and a phone is a pain in the booty
I've had loads of the Instax range including Neo 90 Classic and the SP-1 and SP-2 Printers (SP-2 was far superior with its higher resolution). Not tried the SP-3 Printer but if you get one it'd be nice to hear your thoughts on it.

Hey. Cool video. I have SQ1 (got it as a present) I like SQ6 too a lot... I like the fact that SQ1 teaches me of photography itself.. learning about lightening and all. However I find it hard :) not much of a help out there about SQ1 in general (other than reviews and unboxing)... techniques and tips... where can I find or any advice?

I really have trouble taking makro pictures with this camera, the pictures always come out blurred :( do you have any tips for that?
all my pictures with this camera come out really blurry and i’m not particularly shaky

My manual says not to disturb the picture with pressure touching or shaking.
your shutter speed is probably too low
