This series so reminds me of the one room bedsit I lived in when I was 16 years old in 1977 shared bathroom in Medway Kent £4 per week only seems like yesterday Thank you for posting this series
These dramas are such a blast from the past, the clothes, the hair styles, batteries 27 pence, and a second hand car for £15. How times & the cost of living have changed.
In those days we didn't have credit cards. We used to buy cars and pay for vacations with cash. The only debt we had was the mortgage and the 2 pounds 50 per month we paid to the gas board for the cooker.
In a previous episode (Broken Hearts 1977 01:32) a girl had some Roger Dean art on her wall. I'm sure one of the posters was from Tales from Topographic Oceans. There has never been anthing since the early '70s to match the originality and innovation of the progressive bands of that era, IMHO. I've just realised that it's the same room! Doh! (I recognize the Osibisa flying elephant album cover).
When I was younger the difference between Gas Service Fitters & Gas Service Engineers on the Gas Co was that the Fitters hadn’t done the basic Electrical course so they weren’t expected to sus out electrical faults on cookers or boilers. I was only 13 when this was aired but I love this series. Thanks 😁👍

Isn’t the mum over-heating in that hat? Thanks for uploading these classics ❤️
Perhaps the bedsit was cold, I thought
it was odd to wash up with her hat on.
Women didn’t take them off, think of the mess their hair would be in!

Totally with you on that. Its jaw dropping the difference in so many aspects of culture and society.
@@majordolbyscat ...and yet we behave so very similarly

Normally, an engineer has a technical university degree, which requires maths and physics knowledge.
